How to Modify a Custom Blythe Doll Body So She will Look Up

  • I get asked this question ALL the time. Many people think a joint I sell in my shop will help their Blythe look up (link to joint: www.etsy.com/listing/82159889...)
    BUT this is not the case! This joint will not help your Blythe look up. You either need to modify the body like I show in this video, or change to a "tilt" neck body. Example of tilt neck body here: www.etsy.com/listing/69674163...
    Hope this helps!

    Thank you so much! I just thought she was going to stay that way forever. It's so frustrating taking pics of her. Now I know there's an easy fix.

    This is incredibly useful! Just got my first Blythe, and was already thinking that I'm going to have to buy another body, but then as you say those bodies would be just wasted, so this is a great solution!

    😬 I tried and the head fell off , I got carried away trimming away.... it was worth it for the laugh 😆
    We learn by our mistakes and wanted a different body anyway .

    It worked for me but the head flops around 😂 I Think I’ll need a neck joint after all.

    interesting thank you x. are you just making the ridge slightly wider? and would this work when posing using the the forked stick? would this pushed the head forward? thank you x.

      Yes basically making the ridge wider. As for the forked stick I've never used it so I can't say for sure but this method doesn't make the head floppy if you just do it slightly so I think it would be ok. Thanks for the comment!

    Could you not use a file to shave the neck down ...like the tools you use for carving the face .....
    I want to try this ....thanks for sharing ❤😁

    Hiya I just got my first custom Blythe and really want to change her scalp but I'm terrified of cracking the face up accidently how likely is it that I'll break her 😅

    • @BeBeDolls
      @BeBeDolls  2 года назад +1

      They are much stronger than you think. I've never cracked one and I've had to push pretty hard to get a couple open. That said I'm sure it's possible and depends on how heavily it's been customized and if the plate has been compromised at all in the process (sometimes surface cracks in the sealant is more common than a crack in the actual plastic).

    Why don't you put a neck joint on these bodies? After all, with it, the head will not hang out and you can fix it in the right position for the photo?
