"Jonny and I delved extensively over the past few years into the conceptual aspects of "Moon Healer", and there was naturally a wide array of visual imagery invoked by the subject matter. We really wanted to bring the experiences of the character in Sun Eater/Moon Healer to life. The thematic elements represented are uniquely interesting to me so I was quite enthused to be able to take on the videos for "The Agony Seeping Storm", and now, "The Forever Rot". I've been pretty extensively diving into video production over the last few year with director Kyle Lamar from Digital Myle on other projects, so there's a synergy that's there with us already. His camera work is incredible and he's got such a great grasp on every element of the process. Jonny, Kyle, and I really gelled (ha) together, and I think it shows in the final product. Extracting the raw, authentic elements of the song's narrative, melody, and emotion, and translating them into a visual composition has been vastly artistically fulfilling and I look forward to creating more...from brainstorming, to filming, all the way through editing, it's such a fun process to see our ideas come to fruition. It's quite the ride...we hope you enjoy the trip!" - Nick Schendzielos

"Moon Healer" is a vivid illustration of what happens when creativity, aggression, and volatility tangle for the first time in years. Like the band’s critically adored, 2014-released "Sun Eater" full-length, "Moon Healer" is musically multifaceted, unabashedly brutal, and compellingly conceptual. Featuring a newly refreshed and reinspired lineup of frontman and co-founder Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and drummer (since 2020) Navene Koperweis, the band seamlessly picks up the mantle where Sun Eater left off.
Davy furthers elaborates, “On MoonHealer, we explore a concept centered around a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs, leading to a severe disconnection from reality due to the toll it took on their mental health. The song 'The Forever Rot' touches on their beliefs that human evolution and development have somehow led to the restriction of perceiving otherworldly or inter-dimensional realities and religious entities. It delves into their disconnection from the physical world and the notion that true vitality may be found in the ability to self-destruct and recreate. That some of the drugs they consumed opened these realities that evolution has closed the door on.”

The basswork and tone is unreal
That's what sucked me into this song immediately.
The bassist is insane. I love it.
I wish more bands utilized the bass more then they do.
You can hear him shred more in Nuclear Power Trio!!!@@eggpod4567 I used to listen to jfac way back when they started and what theyve become is insane
Nick Shinz. He plays in Havok and is bass tech for Vlad in Nuclear Power Trio.@@eggpod4567
My favorite aspect of JFAC is their basslines. It's not just heavy chug and thud. Very jazz-like, in a way.
Nicks a beast bassplayer
You know you are doing something right when you put this song on and your baby calms down.
Hell yeah
Looks Like The Cowboy Got His Job Back! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And I am grateful for it.
yeah okay, they sound like every other heavy band out there right now. absolutely nothing unique about it, what a let down this come back has been
@@muzien87 Yeah okay, go back to Encyclopaedia Metallum dipshit.
@@muzien87what are you expecting? Rap verses and Health worship disco beats and reverb vocals?
Lmao
Fuck me, with the way the world is falling apart these days, it's so nice to have something to jam to that gets it
The Forever Rot
The Hominid trajectory was the catalyst to forbid this inter-dimensional imagery
For the substance of our existence seeps of earthborn putridity
This mystic entheogen, skinning my essence from a planet of regurgitated monsters
It ripped the threads of a dying macrocosm where all creations are charades and imposters
I no longer sense a ghost inside my carbon-based vessel, the grief is horrendous
But I rest in comfort of knowing my soul is eternal and my consciousness endless
As my fleshed flame was quenched with gloom
The eternal darkness took my soul to consume
I can overhear my shadow's dimming cry,
It wept and said, "Only that of which can destroy itself is truly alive"
I no longer sense a ghost inside my carbon-based vessel, the grief is horrendous
But I rest in comfort of knowing my soul is eternal and my consciousness endless
As my fleshed flame was quenched with gloom
The eternal darkness took my soul to consume
I can overhear my shadow's dimming cry,
It wept and said, "Only that of which can destroy itself is truly alive"
No longer was I to be revived
My body had been purged, bathed by the sound of flies
Amazing lyrics
I cannot even pronounce the words talking let alone screaming them lol
Well I would say it will get better, but if it doesn't I'll feel even more guilty
@@dtrmntsI was just going to comment on how everybody focuses on the brutal tone & riffs but to me reading these lyrics….man….these guys just killed it by tying it all together with these words into sentences into paragraphs into self reflection
The Tibetan book of the dead. Way to fuckin go boys!
What a strong return they've made.
I'd like to actually see them playing in one of these videos though. 🙂
Live studio sessions are always nice
Same
I disagree. This and the agony sleep video are like mini movies. If the band appeared in the videos, I think it would actually be distracting from the story that is being told. There are plenty of live videos if you want to know what the band looks like.
Over thirty years ago, a friend of mine complained about a Tool video because the band appeared in the video.
The evolution this band has gone through over time is pure magical. They dropped one of the best pieces of deathcore and then proceeded to refine their sound with each release. They're digging deeper than ever, and I'm more than stoked that we finally get a new album. Sounds great!
I love when songs and music videos are intertwined and tell a story. There aren't many music videos that are as creative as this one nowadays. Amazing lyrics too 🤘🔥
Jfac has always been one to paint a story with their videos. It's amazing.
You guys made a impact on me at 16. Hitting it harder at 33 👍🏻
Factssss
Bro I went and got a guitar and started skipping school to learn knee deep. Job was iconic through my teen years for me.
I remember when they released Doom. I was a freshman in high school and they were only 2 years older and went to a school 20 minutes from me! They are one of a handful of bands that me into extreme metal.
Here at 31 my guy🤘
Same age! 🤘
My god. This is the first time since I started listening to metal when I was a teenager that I've been so excited for an album. I am so completely blown away. The bass is the most refreshing thing I've heard in metal in a decade and I don't even need to touch on the absolute top tier vocals, wow.
Lol must not listen to many bands
@@Phantasm2Cuda We don't have to have the same preferences in music. Thanks for sharing nothing.
@Amocoru has nothing to do with preference just means you obviously don't hear a lot of metal
Good god man, the bass lines in this damn song are just incredible. This kind of creativity on bass is so refreshing and really adds to the overall atmosphere of the track.
It’s so refreshing to not hear just power cords going along with the drummers feet/vice-versa
I LOVE JFAC's bass tone. It doesn't work for every band, and shouldn't be tried for every band, but it hits so hard for their music.
Check out his work with "Nuclear power trio" :)
1:45-3:20 is one of the best musical segments i have heard in my 35 yrs of life
Sick AF. Love how far they come with sounds and techniques. These guys always deliver!
This band gave me a big push in the right direction at a young age, I'm so glad they're back. An immaculate piece of music, thank you 🖤
I'll be busy when it premieres, but god knows I've already listened to the song about 15 times!
Rookie numbers
@@KZ14.420 it's a conservative estimate, but yeah...lol.
The entirety of what I've heard so far has me convinced this is another masterpiece like sun eater coming. Exactly what I wanted to hear, and worth the wait.
Job For a Cowboy out here perfecting their already perfect sound. Freakin love them so much. 🤘🏻
STRAIGHT UP!!!
This band has gone through SUCH an interesting evolution. I am so glad to see them return. They were the ones who got me and my friends into death metal when we were 14. Now at 30, they are still blowing my mind.
same
I remember when my friend first played JFAC for me I was in 6th grade and it legit scared me but something attracted me to listen again and embrace the sound. Now I’m 29 and been a metal head since then!!
I love the groove and the riffs for days glad you guys are back for sure
Reminds me of BTBAM and Rivers of Nihil at times, I am loving this!
Exactly
The bridge into the outro......just amazing
I'm speechless, this whole album was amazing. The theming, the imagery, the deep psychedelic dimension to everything, and the craziest melodies you'll ever hear, it hits too hard🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This album is easily going to be the best release of 2024.
Seems like a lot of people agree with you. When a legend releases, everyone listens. JFAC is a real legend.
It's incredible to see the giant evolution Job For a Cowboy has made, I've been following the band since 2016, musicality and excellent timbres made you UNIQUE and was a big part of my adolescence, I love you so much as a Brazilian fan
I've worked with many pharmacists. This is what they typically do when they get home from work.
Love the sound of the bass
Haven’t been this excited for new music in a long long time. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I can feel the beyond creation bass vibe , I love where this new cowboy is going !
Can we see a bass play through on that?! 🤓 Sounds insane fr
I feel like I am tripping! Awesome imagery and video.
The Cowboy did an excellent job.
Visual director deserves a raise.
Getting some real behemoth vibes here.
5:10 from here to the end they took me to another dimension.
FUCK. YES. This is like a perfect follow up to Sun Eater. FIRED UP ON THIS
Beautiful. It makes me feel so many things.
Can’t wait for the tour…this album is gunna be insane 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Out of all newer Metal this band has THE best bass! I find myself humming along to the bass line especially at the end! 5:42
I’m so stoked to have new material from these guys!
Fuckin amazing. This band never disappoints.
JFAC featuring Huberman lol the cross-over I didn't know I needed.
Great work! The creativity and vision for this video goes deep!!!! 🖤👁
The bass is very present, that's what I like
Can't stop listening to this, its my favourite thing you guys have ever written
Love this and so glad you're back. I want guitar playthroughs from Tony and Al, bass play throughs from Nick, vocal one takes from Jonny, AND DRUM PLAYTHROUGHS FROM NAVENE. Plz.
Will send tasteful nudes, call my bluff
will never forget finding you guys on myspace in 5th grade used to and still skate to your music 🤘🔥
The musicianship here is insane
This entire album slaps.
This is probably going to be my favorite record of the decade. High art right here.
Suneater is such an underrated album, glad to see the amazing basswork is returning. Can't wait for the album.
You guys are absolute legends. THANK you for what you do!
Gives me Opeth vibes. Love it
Fucking superb.
Well worth the wait, looking forward to hearing the rest of the new album!
I've been jamming to you guys for most of my life, and I'm happy that y'all are moving forward!
🤘🏼😎👍🏼
my fave death metal band of all time ❤
today is my birthday. Last night i timed the lyric "No Longer Was I To Be Revived" to the exact moment the clock struck 12am. Shit was kinda dope
Crazy they're still making music.
I just remembered them for that pig squeel in the opening of that song 16 years ago, hahah
Good on you guys.
One of THE best metal songs of the last decade, and that's not an exaggeration. JFAC raises the genre's bar with this one.
You've come such a long way since DOOM and it's been a pleasure to go along for the ride.
I'm loving this new album. Happy Halloween.👻🎃🤘
Sick video! JFAC never disappoints 🔥
Still one of my top 5 bands ,they keep aging like wine
I remember seeing job for a cowboy and gwar open for lamb of god back in 2009 and have been a fan ever since. I was 14. They showed me a part of hearing music I never could have imagined. Love the new album
We needed job back 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Absolutely spoiled with metal cattle decap now jfacb insane
COGNIZANCE and COGNITIVE!!!
Best technical death metal song of last decade. Thank you for the refreshing breeze you are giving to the genre. We have enough of those deathcore bands with no depth in their composition
This is not even deathcore but i agree, i cant stand deathcore, straight death metal is so much better in every way
Bass creates its own line!!!
Man, something about those wonky sounds around 5:10 are unsettling but in a beautiful way. This is one of my top 3 songs of all time now, for the record.
Way to go Brent! I haven't listened to Job for a Cowboy in a long long time. This song is pretty solid. Sick video dang!
So badass I'm 49 seen them my first time was in Indy at deer Creek they opened up for cannibal corpse amazing show so glad u guys are still kicking ass
Hell yes! I was there!
Highly awaiting this new album guys always love your guys shows and music🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Damn dude the bass line is incredible here
I always said Sun Eater was how metal should sound
I can’t believe I lived long enough to hear Moon Healer
This made my jaw drop, literally.
Damn
Finally, I miss these tunes, it's been so long 🤌🤘
Now this video clip it´s totally relevant. Loved the art direction. I dont know what the lyrics are talking about, but in the end it remembered me a lot of Hellraiser´s movies and Pan´s Labirybth movie. Incredible.
No band does it like Job For A Cowboy. Fucking slaying those instruments man. You guys are SO UNDERRATED.
🔥🔥🔥
God damn I still remember when entombment came out. I played Doom to hell and back. Great to see you all back. We some old Fuchs nows
It just keeps getting better
Fuckin hell that guitar solo rips so hard, has to be the best work of this band all around. This song is fucking peak.
I guess you could say that monster has good hand-eye coordination.
Can't wait! \m/
The solo at the end almost took my soul away from my body.
This is wicked
this band and bmth in 2006 were unmatched...in 2024 i expect the same lol what a time to be alive
Shreddin'. Got to give NECROPHAGIST credit for some of the beats & riffs here.
They have really evolved and grown musically. Super sick
Lmao. This looks like it was filmed in AZ. I recognize some of the scenery. Glad to see it.
😢 inacreditável esse ano foi maravilhoso, só pedrada voltando ❤
Simpel..best song of the year❤❤
I’m really glad to this band making moves again!
I've been listening to JFAC since my space era and this is just brutal and the riffs remind me of some cattle decapitation from the monolith album
Love the song and the video goes perfectly with it. So glad to see JFAC back.
Doom dropped in 2005 you ancient mongloids
Honestly no idea how anybody can maintain a voice like Jonny's for this long.
Jfac is easily one of the most identifiable bands in the entire scene, super stoked for new tracks
Damn the bass is insane here
Masterpiece!!!
I was listening to this on XM radio today great song.
So happy to hear from you again!
BETTER THAN AS I REMEMBER FROM J.F.A.C. and goes more than my expectations NICE LEAD AND MONSTER SCREAM
WELCOME BACK JFAC!!!
