Some people in the black community (the elder) doesn't like being called black. He reminds me of OJ, and there are other actors and athletes that feels the same way.
I know right!! That slave mentality. Smh, I'm black and proud of it.
I'm with Billy,, I don't like being called black simply because I am BROWN just like Billy and he has a right to feel that way and want to be referred to as Brown,, it's not about the African race Billy is just keeping it real cause though many call us the black race when it comes to color all of us are not black but come in many different shades of colors fair skin, very fair, dark brown, brown, some even gave skin color as white as the white race and of course there is black which all Africans are not of black color,,Billy just want to be address by the color he really is Brown not Black that's all,, Wesley Snipes us black and Billy skin looks nothing like Wesley'S and I do love me some Wesley let's get that straight
White supremacy did a job on the the thinking of blacks. To be in Hollywood you must be neutral. Sad
Because other blacks made it possible for him
But when OJ went on trial for murdering his white wife (WHICH HE DID! ✅), the Uncle Tom wanted BLACK skinned support!
@@patriciasingleton6255, Dear, do take a class on self-awareness & acceptance of your African Ethnicity. Sadly, you & others who think like you~are IN Denial~which is NOT the River in Africa.
I beg you to VENTURE into how you can stop differentiating BLACKS’ RICH COLOR TONES with the SAME racist ideology which Slave OWNERS used on Africans & racists use today. Some of our generations since the 1970s FAILED to teach Black Pride & Acceptance to their offspring. Yes, we come in MANY SHADES, but we don’t make a difference bc of it. Africa is the Mother of all Creation.
Please SQUEEZE the ugly “Color Struck” overtones from your mindset, which was handed down to you. Teach your children better.
➡️ IF Billy Dee, Tim Scott, Uncle Clarence Thomas OR YOURSELF~EVER were in a bind where your BLACK•RIGHTS were breached, I’m sure NONE would say: “I’m Brown.” but would CONVENIENTLY play the BLACK race•card to pursue Justice.
BLACKS gave their lives for you to NOT be ashamed of BEING BLACK & to exercise your rights AS A BLACK, no matter your shade. It does NOT make a difference.
The physical chains may be gone, but the mind is STILL bound in chains. Free yourself.
He's a great AMERICAN ACTOR!
Was handsome and still is handsome!
Billy Dee Williams on The Jefferson's I was 7 years old I swooped with Florence and the audience. He's a beautiful and handsome man.Race was never a consideration. ❤❤❤
I was brought up on Billie Dee Williams' Movies, Brians Song was one of my All-Time favorites. My mother had a huge thing for him, she always said she found him most Handsome and Alluring. My dad was a little jealous of it, LOL, but he was also a huge fan of his probably cause he was a Star Wars Junkie! Billie Dee Williams was never considered a Black actor in my family, he was seen as one of the most Brilliant, Mesmerizing, Articulate, Amazing Actors of his generation. Sunny and the View Crew really need to stop putting a label of "Color" on Everybody and Everything just to cause hatred among people and to stir up more racial idealizations which I believe are only in the minds of a very few ignorant people these days. Thank God Billie Dee is way too smart for them and didn't fall under that narrative. I Love this man even more for it!!
Pretty sharp for his age
People are not use to the legends. They are class act and they never let race or anything else be the focus. Just because this world sees everything as race thing because that’s what they want us to do doesn’t mean we all have too. Nobody should have anything bad to say about Billy Dee. He has lived his life and no matter what Challenges he might have faced you don’t let that define you and or keep you from moving forward. That’s what he is saying and it’s not just about race.
Billy dee Williams star wars -- awesome forever.
This was a fair interview, many angles were discussed, though there were some not smooth spots , a discussion was had.
I am a fan of each, I enjoyed this interaction.
I'd say that Billy Dee has lived quite a charmed life with many opportunities. I'm so glad that he has the class to stop these terrible women in their tracks. Same thing Charley Pride did.
Billy is a legend, all haters kick rocks.
Yeah, he's a legend alright, his terrible acting is legend.
@@nygurlmorris422 So, who is legendary to you?
@@Edison73100 Glynn Turman, Robert Hooks, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Cicely Tyson, Debbie Allen, Forest Whitaker, Calvin Lockhart. None of these legendary actors would be telling Bill Maher that blackface is fine like the dull and wooden Billy Dee Williams did.
@@nygurlmorris422 I see a trend.
@@nygurlmorris422 It use to be theTV went off at midnite, there was a reason for that, now the TV surround sound system is the biggest most expensive item in the whole home, 99% of shows like the View are trash, serve no purpose but the business model is perfect. I don't BDW, who am I to judge. The trend is, that nonsense and BS is everywhere 24/7.
A human is a human.

A lot of the talk shows are just stupid when they are interviewing actors . And other people as well .what they should say is what was the first movie you played in billy , how long have you been acting, why did you want to become a actor. And if you have not chosen acting, what professional field would you have chosen . And who is one of your favorite actor, and your hobbies, or do you have any hobbies , and what did you think about the silent movies , and , have you ever got another actor autograph, ect.
Well I hope billy doesn't get arrested by a racist cop or end up in a KKK town
A lot of interviewers really don’t know what to ask. It’s always the most obvious … they should do their homework and read their books!!!so they know what to talk about!!
This was not about racism he became an avtor during the hardest times for black actors to get jobs wether he wants to address it or not and giving incite to those times and how he was able to overcome and be successful is something amazing and is not something that should be shameful to speak on because wether he ever admits it by no means was it easy period
That show is ridiculous
The Great Billy Dee Williams 😍
