Hi! How does the Philips Blaise block out viruses and polluted air outside the mask if there is a direct hole inside the mask and filter pls? Want to understand before i buy. Thanks.
Good day doc, I’m also a doctor and I plan to buy this too.. Just want to know your advise on wearing this mask on hospital and clinic set-ups? Do You think that this is a better alternative for N95s especially if we go to clinics only or at OPDs? coz at ORS it should be the N95.. Thanks 😊
Nicole Marie Credo hi doc nicole! I think if OPD lng or clinic this would be allowed pero some hospitals are strict bec this is a valved mask. However, with the use of a faceshield, exhaled air more or less contained in our space. If your clinic is outside the hospital, I dont think it would be a problem. Hope this helps!
How long does it take you to charge it? You said not to overcharge it, does the blinking light ever stop? I kept mine on charger for five hours and the light never stopped blinking.
Maika Slatensek, MD I actually did get the blinking light to stop, but it stopped when I wasn’t paying attention to how long I charged it. I’ve been topping off the charge every morning now, and with about 40 minutes charge the blinking light stops.
Hi Doc, I was wondering about the valve? Is this mask like the 1 way valves of the disposable N95 masks, where exhaling is easier, but does not protect people around you in case you are sick?
Same question from me - didn't see Doctora's reply yet (also to a similar question below). I just bought but will have to stop using it first until I get a clear reply from the seller where I bought it. Just doing my part lang bec rule of thumb is also to think of protecting others. It’s the way we’ll stop this virus from spreading kasi. 😊
Hi Doc, sorry to bother you again. I’ve used the mask the past 2 days. Mga 2-3 hours par day. None hospital and None office setting. I was wondering how I could clean/disinfect the “face”’facing side of the N95 filter, since sabi naman kasi sa 122 hours (because the air quality for the past days here was 17 aqi) of use siya per filter.
I saw similar question I have in mind but still unanswered. I had to stop using my Philips Blaise while waiting for the seller's reply. I'm reading up now on the reviews on RUclips and came across this channel. Can you let me know if it will also protect other people? Just doing my part lang bec rule of thumb is also to think of protecting others. It’s the way we’ll stop this virus from spreading kasi. 😊
Doris German Hi Doris! Good question. This is a valve mask. Compared to alexis which has a valve filter (protects exhaled air) philips blaise valve brings filtered air in but does not filter it out. Safest way is to put a surgical mask on top of the mask in order to filter exhaust air.
Glenn Vincent Yazon The Blaize has an N95 filter that connects to the inner lining of the mask, but not over the fan. The fan blows air OUT of the mask, and onto your own neck (NOT off to the side, only onto yourself). Because of the seal of the N95 filter, it creates suction into the mask when the fan is on, and if feels like you have air-conditioning on your face and “fresh air” inside the mask. There is NO filter on the fan. It is very breathable and easy to wear (better than the UA Sportsmask - I have both), and if you are worried about the valve, then put a surgical mask over it - the fan will still be just as affective.
Can’t wait for mine to arrive! Never been that excited for a face mask to come. Lol. The only problem is that I’m worried that people might confuse the fan part with the valve. Any suggestions on how to hide it?
Julius Pahang Hi there! Some drs use this as an alternative to n95, however recent studies show that because this is a valve mask, air expelled is not filtered. So, to protect the surrounding people around u better put a surgical mask around it
@Maika Slatensek, MD hi there! Wanted to note that the fan eliminates your CO2 not spread it. The only downfall would be that the fan has to be constantly on in order to prevent the spread. If it ever dies, you have to swap it out for a different mask
hi doctor... if you have time, can u make a review for the nopeet comparing with the other faceshield visors? i saw u have one, mas clear po ba? scratch free? thank u doctor
hi there! Thats would probably be a good review video ;) Yes super clear no peet and its lighter than other faceshields Thanks, will try to find time to do more vids and reviews. Stay safe
Hello! may I know the safety of this mask because air is coming from the outside? And how sure are we that the air coming inside the mask are filtered?
It extracts air from inside the mask out through the turbine. So when you exhale, the turbine assist in eliminating the carbon dioxide that it produces. Yes air does come in but through the fan. what happens is that the turbine is so powerful that it creates a suction that forces air to come in but goes through the N95 filter. In essence not only that it removes the carbon dioxide but removes humidity and creates a nice flow of filtered air current within the mask.
Angel Vi Hi there, this might be an issue with some establishments bec they will still reason out its a valve mask - with a valve. So, i suggest bringing an extra backup mask for protection
Maggie Lim Hi there, its not the droplets. By now research leads that covid is not only droplet transmitted but by aerosol as well. So the air from the inside going out passes thru the filter and some thru the valve

ok....so this is an awesome mask. Where can we get it as it seems that this item was born out of necessity in Japan with collaboration with Phillips. What does that mean...really you can't get it anywhere outside of possible Asia and might have the chance of being confiscated by customs as it has a lithium battery so you will have issues to ship overseas.
