This "Training Studio" video feels like a joke Into the Spider-Verse would make about Spider-Man having weird merchandises, like a Christmas album.
There is also a Power Rangers Mission Training released during SPD and Mystic Force
"I have spider sense. Not common sense."
Should actually be the comic's official slogan at this point. . . Or at least the writers' official slogan.
Considering some of the decisions Peter Parker has made over the years, that sounds legit.
The minds of Marvel editorial since 2007.
*Ghostbuster:* How the hell did Marville get made!?
*Spider-Man:* Well, you see, Bill Jemas had Spider Sense... but not common sense...

I'm convinced this is actually a Rocket Robin Hood training studio video that was repurposed as a Spider-Man training studio video.
I can believe there was an attempt at a resurgence of Rocket Robin Hood.
You joke, but there was a Power Rangers training video from around the same time done in this same style! I imagine the company behind this "McDojo in a box" concept got the license to a few different superhero properties at the same time.
"The Adventures of Titanor! Space Yoga Instructor!"
@BagOfMagicFood this came out the year 2007 and the power rangers training dvds came out in 2005 and 2006.
I'm thinking they weren't renewed by disney to make a 3rd training dvd. so the 07 release was repurposed for a marvel superhero. Aka spiderman. Which would explain why the whole "you are now spiderman" thing make very little sense since it probably originally said "you are now the red ranger". Which makes more sense since there's more than 1 red ranger compared to only 1 spiderman per universe. That and the pr version was done when spd was the current season.
@@BagOfMagicFood They also did a similar series of "DVD and a mat" box kits that involved dance moves rather than "superhero training"
It's funny that this was officially licensed, not a bootleg.
"You kids will be superheroes one day, but it's all just pretend. You guys will be Spider-Men in no time, but you can't be Spider-Man." Make up your damn mind, video!
Some poor kid took this way too seriously and was, from that day forth, known as the weird kid in school. Press F to pay respect.
"I'm not Billy anymore. I'm Spider-Man! The DVD said so!"
Well they ignored the warning about not doing it in real life.
If I know anything about weird kids, he's likely a software engineer who thankless worked on something we take for granted but can't live without.

This product is so mid-to-late-2000s I'm surprised it didn't incorporate a plug-and-play game!
I love that as incredibly low budget and low effort this production is, at around 13:30 they really made a point of having pictures of spiders, framed preserved spiders, and terrariums all behind the kids, presumably filled with spiders.
That and the animation of Venom throwing the bus is where all the budget went I’m guessing.

The (presumably)ai voice did a really good job with that line.
If by any chance some of those lines are AI I would say this is a good use of it being brief and to the point. The uncanny performance of those lines makes them even funnier.
Spider man can't afford to pay off his rent, yet he can afford to make his own training studio.
He probably thought this was an easy way to make money to pay his rent.
@@Canaanimal Yeah, but how much did it cost to built his training studio.
Either Jonah pay him a lot ( Which I doubt ) or he's borrowing money from Stark company.
@peterang78 He's borrowing the space from Dr. Connors. His lab upstairs and the Lizard's cement cage downstairs. It doubles as a credit for his science class if he books it for a "presentation".

The fact that Phelous' reaction immediately after is a flat, confused "what" makes this more hilariously timed.
I find it a weird budgetary decision that they went to the effort to make a fake laboratory and a CGI Venom scene (Which is more effort then you'd usual expect for a short DVD addition to a chap toy) but didn't get it's actors mic'd when performing in open rooms.

You have to admire Little Phelan Jr's utter dedication in documenting garbage.
If this Spider-Man was in No Way Home, it would have been the peakest of all cinema.
I’d bet there were some kids who got this expecting it'd make them a Spider-Man and were really disappointed. Also, if Spidey’s gonna have named attacks it would be the ones he has in Marvel vs Capcom.

Also, the CG animation of Venom throwing a bus and Spider-Man's line before that happens is set up like a cutaway gag for a different show (the added laugh track just makes it better)
I swear, I thought it was a cut away to one of the video games.
"Lois, this is even worse than that time I played Venom in a crappy Spider-Man training video!"
I was at the cinema and Spidey said its clobbin' time and everybody clapped.

No one show this to Miguel, he'd flip the hell out.

Honestly, while movie Miguel would probably flip and want to kill this Spider-Man for disturbing the canon or whatever, I think that comic Miguel (especially during the 90's run) would be all like "lmao look at this shocking loser"......
.....or maybe he'd be slightly freaked out due to all the Thorites dressing up as him and worshipping him as some sort of god or something......
This costume is the one Marvel uses for theme park appearances at that time such as Universal Orlando. They had a bunch for parades, videos and such.
Is anyone else concerned by how thick they rendered Venom? Like, that is some high effort going into him lol
I bet they were originally gonna show footage of Goron.
It's wild how this looks like something out of the mid to late 90s but was produced in 2007. Also, more Spider-Man reviews equal more chances for Bully Maguire references, and I love it.
Lol I like how this completely forgot that Spiderman's Spider sense doesn't work for venom.
They really should have gotten Spidey a dance belt before they filmed this.
Also unrelated but I love that Wabuu shirt. I need one!
This Spiderman training video was really great!
In pretend, of course :V
So this is how Tobey Maguire did it.
If I had to guess why they use footage of the 1994 series, it's likely because of 2/3 reasons. One is because Disney was reairing the show through Toon Disney/Disney XD, and that is the most recognizable. The second is like what you said, the toy was made to promote Spider-Man 3 as Venom is the most focused, and the 1994 cartoon is the only one at the time that had Venom at the time (both "Unlimited" and the Neil Patrick Harris cartoon only had 1 season, and while Venom was in the former, he only appeared a few times and most of the cartoon deals with Spidey on the furries). Keep in mind, this is before the other cartoons with Vemon show up. Third is because that cartoon was responsible for making the venom suit as it was depicted, as the comics didn't add details that it can be a toxic host.
I don't think the makers of the training video care about Venom's backstorynconsideringbthey treat him like a generic bad guy.
True. Plus the 1994 cartoon is a classic. Spider-Man Unlimited had the animal men, and it would not match due to Spidey wearing a different suit (which is due to mandates put on Saban due to the Sony movie) and the MTV Spider-Man cartoon is also known for not being kid-friendly at times.
I vaguely remember seeing some of the shows on Jetix, including the Marvel shows IIRC.
Insomniac's Spider-Man VR looks great
I’m sure Spider-Man wants to show Black Cat a Doc Knocker Saturday Night! LOL 😝
This version of Spider-Man could benefit from having the Puma Man theme accompanying him.

The tables are gimmicked so they don't hurt you too bad, that's why he doesn't want the kids to touch them.
17:36 to 17:44 was the best part 💀💀 Phelous never ceases to make me laugh
While it’s still a strange choice considering how long the show had been over by that point, it’s worth noting as someone who grew up during the 2000’s Spider-Man TAS actually wasn’t uncommon to find reairing throughout the decade, usually on Disney/Toon Disney/XD iirc, to the point showrunner John Semper is vocally proud of it in interviews. Hell I would be too lol

It also came with an inflatable punching bag. I don't remember if it had a mat though. It was released in 2006 during Disney's ownership of the brand entitled "Power Rangers: Mission Training".
T.J. must have used that for training. Guess that's where he got the brilliant idea to SACRIFICE A MEGAZORD from.
@@brianhebert6152 Well, fortunately, the bugs were all worked out by the time S.P.D. integrated the software into their on-site combat simulator.
I remember that being shared when I was following a Power Rangers forum online! At first people were wondering if it contained any hints toward the upcoming season Operation Overdrive, but no, not really, not unless you count its original villain "Lord Mortar" from the CG simulation finale having a similar name to Moltor.
@@BagOfMagicFood It would've been cool of they had been able to secure the rights to use the Aka Red costume from Boukenger vs. Super Sentai and have him be the Rex Ranger instead of having some French-Canadian guy wearing a vaguely futuristic looking karate-gi.
