      @BenCaffrey people who talk about that show they obviously never played the game. It is seriously the dumbest take in sports. You can't tell a group of players, who have been competing at a high level their entire lives, to tank. They are out their competing for their jobs and livelihoods. It doesn't work like that. Maybe sports aren't your thing.

    AP only had 2 years of NFL coaching experience. Davis only gave him a 2 year contract. Why would any owner hand that lack of experience the keys to your franchise on a long term deal? It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that AP lost 13 games and got fired.

    • @comcham1
      @comcham1 26 дней назад

      It isn't why he was fired. It was HOW he was fired. It was classless and underhanded. You will notice that Mayo was fired BEFORE he went out and talked about his future plans. If you are gonna fire a coach, don't put on the charade of having him speak to the media about what went wrong this year and what he will do next year to fix it. But it is a typical Fader move.

    When mark Davis blind sided Del Rio for Gruden that was a perfect example of how he was going to run his ownership. In one slash he destroyed the old guard of the Raiders. They had their hand picked coach by Madden and Flores and Art Shell. They had the super star/ HOF in Khalil Mack and the Pro Bowl QB in Carr. The future looked really good for Raiders. Davis dismantled the team and said they were going to move to Vegas.
    Now 5-6 years later they have no fan base, and what little there is dwindles by the year. No home field advantage, constant coach carousel, they don’t even broadcast the Raiders in California. loses are piling up every year.
    Times are tough for Raider Nation. 20 or so years after Al Davis traded Super Bowl 37 and Gruden for 2 draft picks and 8 million dollars. Everyone in the NFL thought Jabustus Russell was going to be some kind of football hero. Some knew including myself that Megatron was the answer. That is how many understood football had passed Al Davis by.
    Raider Nation has only been seeing ghosts (to-the-post). Hoping on a holy-roller every time they sniff the playoffs and a winning season. There is no more running-with-the-night as Mark Davis sits at a slot machine in the Vegas airport. Completely oblivious.

      They had some pretty good players during that Del Rio, but just like Del Rios pass coaching jobs, he had one decent season and the rest were mediocre to poor. Also, as they were saying, they brought in Scott and Norv Turner as advisors for the office, as far as OCs, smart guys both of them. But no one said anything about being head, coach or anything like that. I’d rather have those guys up in the booth than the people they’ve had the last three years.

    Also, no, Brady is not multitasking to the level Shrags is suggesting. His contract has specific limitations on what he can do and the level to which he can engage with teams and personnel as a broadcaster. So he's doing half the job he would be if that. That being said, after the Super Bowl I'd personally prefer if he just went full in on Raiders stuff and gave Greg Olsen back the top color spot but that's just me. Anyway, yeah he's really not doing as much at Fox as people think. He's not in production meetings, he's not allowed inside facilities, etc.

    How can someone in the NFL media be so uninformed? Raiders are top 5 in most cap next year. They are printing money in Vegas, paying a coaching staff won't be an issue. The biggest problem is the division, 3 elite coaches with their QBs. Raiders have no QB and lots to build due to years of instability. Brady, good cap space, good money, and the chance to draft a QB are the things that could entice a decent candidate. There are weapons on offense, Brock Bowers, Myers, Tucker. The O line has two young rookies who played well this year with Kolton Miller getting healthy again. You have some pieces on defense. It's too bad this isn't 25 years ago, someone like Bill Parcells would have been perfect for the Raiders. A culture builder who has good staffs and knows how to win.

    Why speak on a subject if you're not going to do any research into it? It didn't take me long to find this out. There were off field issues with Pierce, not huge but coupled with all the losing it was enough. When Pierce got promoted to head coach he let it go to his head, he became very arrogant, belligerent and became unapproachable to the players (the one thing he had going for him was he was a players coach and his attitude change cost him this).

  • @brich6875
    @brich6875 26 дней назад

    He should have never been hired but the entire football world put pressure on Mark Davis to hire AP. This only the two year deal and low salary. He made mistake after mistake every game this year with in game decisions. He coached scared. He lacks experience and it showed. Crosby even called him and the coaching staff out after week 12-13 for no accountability and no structure in practices. After they lost 4 in a row AP was seen in the sidelines smiling and laughing while everyone else was upset. Not a good look. Then he died post game media scrum and he’s smiling and happy answering questions. No other head coach in any sport is going to be happy and smiling after losing 4 in a row.

  • @capecodraiders47

    Ha!! The problem shows up over and over...people still think Pierce was qualified and didn't get a fair shot? No one was suggesting the Raiders would win 17 games. Did any of the clowns sticking up for him watch the games? He couldn't game manage. The media told him Andy Dalton would play for Carolina. He didn't know, claimed he was in "meetings". He was no doubt smoking cigars and watching world all star hip hop videos. Raiders have done this before. Bugel, Shell, etc. Drew Allar is probably the best young qb coming out...but in 2026. What do you do now? I'd say you prepare your team for his arrival. You do not overspend in free agency. If you trade all your picks to move up for some guy who wears women's jewelry, you will lose for another 40 years.
