- I finally read the legal documents and it is surprisingly good. So I activated the rest of the features.
Samsung Odyssey Ark is a 55 inch monster of a gaming monitor but is a pretty awesome productivity monster as well. If you want your gaming to be truly immersive the only thing better might be triple ark, or a VR headset. It is just one of the most immersive monitors I have tried.

I love reviews like this. Nothing fancy, just a honest perspective
Thank you man, exactly what i was looking for ❤
Glad to hear!
Thank you for posting this. I found this very helpful as I am also a software engineer and am looking for a screen primarily for work/productivity and then for gaming (Baldurs Gate 3 i hope will look great!). I wonder if they fixed the lighting in gen2. I'll place an order once I'm back from vacations.
I'm glad you went in depth with this. I'm looking at purchasing this however I have 4+ machines which I was hoping to use multi-view for each one. Perhaps it can be tinkered with in other ways!
Gen2 has multi view inbuilt. It just came out.
Thanks for the review, picked up a brand new one here in the UK for £775/1000 USD, which i think is an abolute steal compared to its RRP. Looking forward to getting it :)
Pls do a video about the terms and conditions
🤦🏽♂️
@@mikemeetstec can you do it
@@deejayfizz I’ll try
I was able to preorder the second gen Ark today on Amazon.
How much did you pay? And what thoughts do you have on it
@@yohon6360 I paid $2K, I noticed it goes on sale a lot and its not worth $3K..just wait for the sales.
Due to the fact that monitor weighs 40kg (i'm from EU), did you have any concerns about your desk weight limit?
If you’d to pick one. Ark or the new g9 49 qd-oled. I need to decide today.
I have the exact desk you do, but I have a question. I am looking at buying this monitor, which will fit, but would it be able to fit two in horizontal? I think its going to be to close even though it would be very immersive. Two in vertical mode may be an option. I also thought about doing one vertical and one horizontal. Thank you ahead of time.
i think something is wrong with your remote. i have the same monitor and my remote wheel is working fine with the menus.
Can you turn the LED off? I got Hue sync to take care of lighting
Lets say you are playing diablo on pc and muti view with the youtube app, can you hear both sound from pc and youtube app or you can only hear one or the other?
The stomps got me anxiety
next time if you do a video with this screen as your background you need to change hertz down to 120, the flickering is insane, great vid otherwise.
what distance do you sit away from the monitor? or better asking what are the measurements of your desk?do you recomend sitting a little bit far away? im asking cause im planning to use an oled 55" as a monitor and i should plan the desk ahead for it
My desk is about 37 inches wide, but I have the monitor at the center point about 27 inches away from my head when sitting straight up.
G’day Mate, I am looking here in Australian at getting one , does it come with a wall mount ? Does it really look good for gaming , its all i will be using it for 👍? Thanks Mate ,
Kroukey, 🐊I’d recon it is mate 👌🏽
is there multi display port support ???
I just wish this monitor was 55 inch with 5120x2880 resolution. 3840x2160 is definitely not enough.
Yeah I agree more pixels!! GIVE ME MORE! haha, but it is really nice though. I did see an 8k ultra wide is supposedly coming out.. I am already wanting to buy that haha, but that would require I upgrade my entire setup. I will wait till next gen to do that though. No sense in upgrading right now with the latest games probably won't even take advantage of 8k yet. Even Diablo 4 cuts off almost half the screen when you have 6kish worth of pixels.
Hey Cardale, I’m hopefully getting my Ark soon. Currently it is shipping to me. How was the shipping experience you had? I live pretty far north in Alaska and it has been shipping for about two weeks now. It has traveled by plane, truck, and boat to get to me lol. Did you buy it directly from Samsung? I got mine for $1,599. So a steal in my opinion.
Obviously your shipping situation is like the most extreme it could probably get. It is well packaged. I don't imagine it getting damaged unless some one tries to damage it. It also can't be thrown around like smaller packages. It is so damn heavy people will likely treat it with more care and use a cart because it just is too big for most people to chuck. Damn that is a good deal. Nah I paid 2k for mine, but I get the amazon points on these things with my credit card so 5% back. So that is 100 back so I paid 1900 technically if you look at it that way.
WTF u mean to tell me in order to use its main feature I gotta subscribe to Samsungs Data Mine agreement? Thats Crazy. I was really interested in this until u told me this thank you
Im playing on the odyssey neo 7 32in with my ps5 and im wondering what settings would be the best to get the full potential out of my ps5 because i have no clue
You just need to make sure the refresh rate is at 120 I believe is max for the ps5 and you are good. Most everything is set by the ps5. Only thing you can change would be picture preferences which is just up to what you like. I am not a console gamer though so I couldn't help you with that.
i dont think u ever mentions your gpu :)?
Silly question, but my ark will not go past 1980x1080. What's the fix??
Is the cable a good quality one that can support the res and frequency? are you display settings in the OS correct? are your graphics card drivers up to date? Does your graphics card support 4K?
Your screen is flickering when you activate the game mode.
Still undecided whether to go with the Odyssey Ark or the regular 37.5" IPS
I think the flickering you are seeing is just frame rate mismatches from the camera and the screen. You don't see that with your naked eye. Personally its an easy choice for me. I would go ark.
Eu ja tive um Odysseyg9 , o samsung arc é lindo mas 2400€ ce ta louco bubu kkk😂😂
If you want the best you better break out your gold bars. 😂 😂
@@RyeinGoddard kkkk i agree kk
3k display, 10€ Keyboard.
Mess of cables too.
too fancy for the setup you got.
haha, to be perfectly honest I just moved back to a smaller house because my mom got sick and this is in my garage because it was a fast move. About to move into a bigger place now.
For anyone considering the odyssey ark for anything else than gaming. Please pass. There’s a reason there aren’t more reviews on the monitor. Reading text will cause eye fatigue. The one I received went back 2 days after I purchased. When I would use it it would randomly have this micro led grid pattern that would appear and only way to get it to go away was to switch to the menu and back.
No micro-led grid pattern exists for me. You likely have something faulty. I've been using it coming from a Asus PG48UQ OLED - amzn.to/44BfeQO
Also something to be aware of is to enable "auto" for game mode. Many people don't bother setting their monitor up or making sure it works properly. That is one of the reasons I made this video is because I saw people like you saying inaccurate things, or at the very least people that just lost the manufacturing lotto. A grid pattern shouldn't exist with this monitor.
Imma use it mainly for gaming and streaming maybe. League of Legends is gonna be dope to play on this thing, especially during teams fights.
@@TheSakufighter I played warframe on it and it was insane!! I only returned mine because I also needed a monitor for VFX work and this was not the monitor. I wanted to try it out and see if it could manage. It was close..but I didn’t take into account the color profile. I didn’t use the hdr features at all. I ended up getting a 38in ultra wide Lg 145hz 4k and daaaamn happy I made the swap. Tbh I probably could have gone for a 40in non ultra wide, but really happy with my decision. The odyssey just wasn’t the monitor for me. I had plans to move it to my basement and build my own desk for it, but decided for the money I just couldn’t justify keeping it being on the fence about how it felt/performed. Not saying it won’t suit you well! Just don’t expect to get great results trying to work from home using it, maybe if you scaled up windows a lot, but then 1080p size UI just feels weird
Wait, you said two 3090s in SLI? I thought SLI was a thing of the past an no longer possible.
3090 GPUs were the last retail cards with the connectors at the top allowing them to communicate directly with each other.
