I was going to mention the impeller but waiting to see the end. Great trouble shooting procedures. Sometime taking things apart and reassembling helps out. Learning your motor is never a bad thing. I’m rebuilding mine as we speak.
If I was him I would loosen it, too much pressure cause extra ware but glad it’s working for ya. When the fins on your impeller start to twist like that, you should replace it. Best of luck this season!
Good idea for those spark plug checkers is just tape it into the cowling of motor. I did this for the shear pins for my old motor for prop, it keeps them on hand and you will never forget it if needed.
I’m pretty sure there’s a thermostat on that motor. I have a 9.8 mercury 2006 and it looks just like yours. Also if your motor is out side in the spring be careful that those little dirt dobbers don’t build a nest in your weep hole. They will plug it up tight.
I've got like 4 of those gappers laying around. I can never find them before I go and get new plugs and a gapper. But now I've got one in every vehicle, along with an air chuck, and pressure gauge for the tires.
Always try and use a tub for water.. Way to many outboard dont like the muffs. And i would definitely change the impeller soon. Not super bad but if ya have time and your in there. Do it. Keep a parts kit for them in garage.
I hauled my boat to the ocean (2 hours away) and it wasn’t peeing when I started it on the trailer. The pee hole was clogged with pollen. Luckily I had some stainless tig wire on board for straightening coon shrimp and that worked to clear out the line and saved our trip. Would have been a long drive home in shame.
Still watching the video but if you are that far into your water pump. Change it. And the old one looked like it was bent into the same shape. Those fins are supposed to be plyable not bent back.
That impeller needs to be replaced it’s actually in bad shape those little fins it has need to be straight when they’re bent like that it needs to be replaced. On the little outlet sometimes it gets clogged you just need to put some air in when it’s turned on, you can use a little pancake compressor to shoot air in the outlet and it’ll start shooting water back out.
I’m putting a floor in my boat and I want to know if u have any idea on what to cover the wood with that’s cheap because Ace in Borger wants 8 dollars a foot for carpet and I can’t afford that
My older outboard has to heat up before it will pee. The thermostat detects when its time to pee. Engage the prop and I bet it will pee within a minute or 2.
Good Video man! Glad you got the problem figured out!
Thank you Skool! 🤙
Your jon boat turned out very good me and my brother are getting ready to start on one like that full overhaul
Love your boat Adam
Thank you! ❤️
Nice boat!!
Thank you! 🤙
@@AdamRyanA you are welcome
Great to see that power stick on there!!! It would be perfect for lake Fryer, should be some bass back in the creek in a few weeks. Great job Adam!!
Dang it would have been much more satisfying to actually find a problem - buat all good!

For sure, I just wish I had more knowledge on outboard motors, but I’m slowly getting there
Nice bro you get it out and ready to fish.
Awesome dude. Great job trouble shooting bro!!! I am definitely learning more and more, each video!!!
Great vid, keep cranking!
Thank you Will! 🤙
Another awesome video 🤙 can’t wait to see the next one 🤙🤙
The next one is awesome!! Just saying lol
Adam you are reminding me to check my impeller !
You better go check your impeller lol
I’m glad I can somewhat help lol
@@AdamRyanA Haha checked my engines, and Doh! my 1958 Evinrude ain't pumping water! So thanks for the heads up reminder!
Super! Подари мотор.)
I glad you got the problem solved. You worked so hard on that boat and deserve to be out on the water.
Me too! On the water videos coming soon!
That prop nut is supposed to be finger tight so don't tighten it to much.

Ahh I’ll go loosen it now

Yeah I checked the thermostat too and it looked good and wasn’t the problem, just didn’t film that part
@@AdamRyanA the thermostat does take a minute to open up.
The motor looks to be in a great condition, and quiet. Despite the issues, I have seen so many rusted etc.

They are easy to lose huh? Lol ohh air pressure gauge, didn’t think about that for my boat tool kit
@@AdamRyanA trailer is a part of the trip, you gotta

Yeah that would of sucked after driving 2 hours
Some of the 4 strokes have a thermostat that doesn't let water flow out the hole until it gets to a certain temp.
Right but this motor always spit instantly
Still watching the video but if you are that far into your water pump. Change it. And the old one looked like it was bent into the same shape. Those fins are supposed to be plyable not bent back.
I got a new one on the way now
Frogs have large eye's to lol
😳 is that allowed?

I love how dude says he's lazy, but built a whole ass bass boat from an empty jon boat.
What are your plans with the shed you bought?
It's a thing it wasn't anything serious 🍺🎣
I bet you know every centimeter of that boat lol
I do! Lol
My older outboard has to heat up before it will pee. The thermostat detects when its time to pee. Engage the prop and I bet it will pee within a minute or 2.
Right but this motor usually pees in seconds
If you were to sell it I would buy this boat!!
Hi
Hi
Them motors are known for problems
