  • The Lord has delivered two sacraments to the church:
    - Baptism
    - The Lord’s Supper
When observing the Lord’s Supper, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 are often read.
What of the verses that preceded and follow that passage?
What does it mean in context?
The Lord’s Supper was suffering gross abuse by the members of the church in Corinth and people were being hurt. The entire meaning and purpose behind the meal was lost in favour of people’s selfishness.
So severe was peoples sin in relation to the Lord’s Table that the Lord had begun to move in judgement against people, leaving people weak, sick and even in death.
How can this judgement be turned back?
What measures need to be put in place to save this church in crisis?
The nineteenth sermon in a series by Pastor Matthew Hobbs.
Teaching delivered on Monday 17th June 2024.
