I love it ! What's the name of this song ? It reminds me of LifeTime . Cindy is very talented along with these gents ! GOD bless You . Jesus loves you !
Every artist has a thing they do with their mouths. It's rather amusing to just watch their faces at various points in the music and try to empathize how they felt it based one their look.
Channeling Tony? You gotta be kidding me. I caught her in DC this week comping Mulgrew Miller and Mark Gross, Working her butt off. She was channeling Cindy.
@WIGANDRUMMER2010 To understand and appreciate the stuff they are doing in this video practically requires a certain level of experience and ability in the style as a musician. The level of this jazz is so far evolved from the big band swing and bebop it came from, even to the exlusion of listeners that are not musicians and/or don't comprehend all that's going on in the music. At this point it's purely a language, a communication. To understand, you must speak it too. Thanks for being honest!
@WIGANDRUMMER2010 I agree, sooo much jazz is just completely self indulgent, Hey look what I can do.However theres no denying the talent involved and musicians are certainly allowed a bit of self indulgence from time to time
@OrzelBialy616 hell yeah the aggression is missing in the music ALOT these days. she reminds me of a young tony williams playing like his life depended on it. Hamid Drake is one of my favorite drummers out there these days too
It's OK to have an opinion about something. It just shows that you don't understand or have an appreciation for the history of American music or culture. That's OK, too. You might find it satisfying one day to learn more about it, and then you'll begin to connect with the ideas, expressions, and sound of jazz. Or not. It doesn't matter. Jazz will be there without you.
She spent so much time with Tony and her soul and style emits a lot of it. Love her very much. Peace
amazing! Her playing is right on..so powerful and tasteful.
Very good drumming ! A lot of skillful energy ! GOD bless you !
wonderful, she is a great drummer
I really dig Cindy's playing.........seems like Elvin & Tony are laying it down....Cindy is an awesome drummer!!!!!!!!!!
that's her style; her band. she does power drumming
I saw her in concert yesterday and today on the road with Santana
(perugia umbria jazz)
I hear a lot of Elvin Jones in her drumming too. She is powerful. Love it.
Yes.. Elvin is one of the greats.
amazing....simply...amazing.
Great pair of hands especially her left ...just awesome ..right up there with Buddy Rich
No doubt..
Ok she is just awesome! WOW!!!

Cold rain and fog are less boring than this "music" but I would love to play drums as her!
I am in love

Yeah! I got to see Cindy Blackman at a drum clinic once -- super amazing chops and she told so many good stories!
I am little curious what kind of music they play when she gets together with her hubby, Santana. Oye Como Va?

I need those drummer arms like her.

Wish I played even 25% as good.
@gangstable Ya dude, Carlos Santana just proposed to her. Sorry to burst that bubble!

She's got it! But still I have to admit her style is bit too aggressive for me; I prefer a subtle approach when it comes to jazz music.
wow... shes hot. And a good drummer also.
@gangstable She's engaged to Carlos Santana. Sorry dude :)
@rumputtaja depends on what your playing, yeah? And personal style aside, if your being paid to play, what's asked of you...

@rumputtaja agreed. a bit too loud
巨匠アラン・ドーソンに鍛えられた、女神ドラムの凄技~シンディー・ブラックマン~生で一度お目にかかりたいものだ! #jazzm
@gangstable She's to marry Carlos Santana.
Tony.
I don't like her playing. She hits the drums to heavy for jazz and she should play more in the background!!! ^^
Zappellise

She could be so good if she learned how to compliment the music rather than over power it
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
