I've always loved Mali and Timbuktu specifically. As a child my Cuban father and Puerto Rican mother were very into African history. They filled our Bronx apartment with books about the history of this ancient land. In school I loved doing reports about Mansa Musa and King Sundiatta Keita. So when I did my DNA and discovered that 27% of my DNA was from Mali, I was elated. Thank you for this documentary.👌🏾🇨🇺🇵🇷

After living and working in a developed country, with all the bills, taxes, and life full of restrictions , governed by laws of the country, don’t do this don’t do that, “ is not allowed to do this is not allowed to do that” all this and more...I came to the conclusion that Africa is indeed a haven and that, Ours is the gate way to paradise, where the people are so loving and kind, free to live in their own ways of life, welcoming and sharing what they got even with stranger no matter how small it’s....this is love, this is respect, So natural , long live Africa, God bless Africa.....#Nahaskey

You are watching this video while "wearing rose colored glasses." The river looks clean and healthy, but they have barely any trees....every living thing has been sucked off their land. The fish they're catching are tiny. They've almost use the land all up. They won't be able to survive her much longer.

@@queeniemoon1349 Maybe you're right about that too, but hey !..Africa is still Africa, a home for all, is a good thing that when all hope of being accepted else where is gone, we still a have place free of charge to leave until our final days on Earth....
What is killing us is not the lack of infrastructure or foods and meds...it is the growing hate for the color Skin's and the lack of freedom to live and be who you are....
Africa is bless with many rivers and farmhands...an environment so natural...not artificial..

Obviously no one here wil change their view with a comment like yours, in one hand you only spit one sentence, while we are watching a documentary that people took hours, to study, travel, experience and then film it. Quite! I lost my right leg 37 years ago and whilst I was learning to walk again at Stanmore Orthopaedic hospital in north London. I met a man who had been on a Lake Kariba (Zambezi) cruise and he was in a boat that got attacked by a Hippo which proceeded to bite his leg off!
I mentioned this to a friends father who had worked on the lake Albert steamer 'Robert Coryndon' in the 1950's and he said yes that often happens. Adding that hippos are by far the most dangerous large animal.
He once saw a bull hippo bite a large crocodile in half!

What a legendary river cruiser. Ferrying people and goods as she sails with a typical Afrikan speed.

Did you all see the fish laid out in the sun? Gross right? NO! I get so upset when people turn their nose up to bread with a little bit of mold. Or drop a meatball on the floor and trash it. Won't eat hamburger meat on the due date (and forget PAST it). These people's ancestors (as well as ours if we were travelling the Namib or shipwrecked on Cape Bojado) would and could eat rotting goat meat hooked to a saddlebag mounted to a camel. Ate jerky that was so tough they'd grind it into millet and consume it that way. Really. Straight up, these are the real citizens of Earth. We who live in cities and towns are gigantic pansies about food by comparison. Not to mention almost everything else we are pampered babies about.

@@1349aegis They're right though, so much food waste in the west due to the food being past the expiry date, despite not being rotten at all.

Ok Melanie and Paco Dave its all well and good what you say.Very valid points ,but then again who lives, on average, a longer lifespan comparing the two societies? You can't deny rotten food causes deaths can you?

@@pietrojenkins6901 you live longer cause you have better healthcare . But on the other hand my father and my uncle made it to Thier 90s and they were actually very fit and self dependent for Thier age Even tho they lacked the same level of health care like you guys have.
