    That book looks so interesting while covering new ground. If I hadn't quit my job recently, I would buy that book right this second. I haven't seen many books that take a serious look at magic in the Norse world. I didn't major in religion or anthropology, just a few undergraduate courses, so new books like this one are always something for me to look out for.

    When linguists can't figure out a runic inscription, they say, "It must be magic." That sounds like the same mindset as archaeologists, when they can't figure out what an artefact was, and declare it a "ritual object."
