The MSI GF63 Thin ticks a lot of checkboxes for me on what makes it a good entry level gaming laptop, and it doesn't sacrifice on the important things that make it a good gaming laptop, but...
MS-WHY MUST THE BODY OF THE LAPTOP LET DOWN LET DOWN WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE...
I guess you could always use an external keyboard if it bothers you.

tbh, this is one of the best format and editing for a review i've seen in a couple years. wish your channel grow up fast mate, keep up the goodwork
it's well detailed and explained, especially in the part of "outside" the laptop. where most people usually skipped that and more focus about fps and speed. but you did nice on both
Thank you, I take heavy influence from other RUclipsrs that I enjoy
This laptop dont have camera right?
@@Super123mil it has a camera but you have a choice to turn it off
Absolutely love the format of this video. To the point, explains what I need to know and provides examples where need be.
Yet again very informative mate! Keep up the good work.
The fan doesn't need vents. It''s a shroud based fan as you can see after you removed the back. After seeing it not sure why you would be confused. A shroud based fan doesn't need vents. It's job is to push the hot air out of the case. It doesn't need vents or cool air coming in to do that. The vents are over the heatpipes and fins. The fan on this laptop exhausts the hot air both out of the top and the side. I have never really been a fan(haha) of laptops. I keep my desktop PC basically as good as it gets for gaming. Currently duel 1440P 165hz monitors, Ryzen 5900X/RTX 3080 ti, and 32GB 3600mhz CL16 ram(4x8GB) sticks as populating all 4 dimm slots can be up to a 10% performance boost on Zen 3. I enjoy playing games at Ultra settings but still want really high fps so I keep my PC updated constantly. Recently had to start traveling for work. Didn't wanna spend alot as I won't be using it that often but I wanted a laptop to game when I do have to travel. I have this same model. I paid 650 US dollars for it on sale brand new which imo was a great deal. The I7 and GTX 1650 Max Q. The only thing I did was upgrade the ram to two 2933mhz 16GB sticks for 32GB total and added in a second 1tb SSD. I also have my GPU overclocked +140mhz on the core and +500mhz on the memory. So when gaming my core clock actually runs around 1740 mhz and my memory clock at 5500mhz. Doing this with the custom fan profiles I made in dragon center my GPU runs around 65-70C as does my CPU. This is without Cooler Boost enabled as that max's out the fan and it gets pretty loud around 6000 rpm. My fan profiles normally have it running around 3000-3500 rpm. I can't hear it and it still keeps it really cool. Note my gaming room ambient temperature is around 67-68 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a Cooler Master cooling pad that has no fans. All it does it keep the laptop elevated nicely so that it always has fresh air. Thus the internal cooling is doing all the work. Having those temps on laptop at full GPU load while gaming and overclocked is extremely good imo. The cooling system in this laptop works surprisingly well and obviously the fan doesn't need vents under it for it to do it's job. It's not an open air fan like you find on most modern GPU's today. It's job is to push the hot air out of the chassis and it does an amazing job at that.
thanks for this man. Great video style/layout!
Nice review, thank you very much!
Nice review! Good job thanks for your work.
Awesome review straight forward, in depth, and easy to understand at the same time, I was in the market for a laptop mostly for Emulators, OS Game's, and just Game's in general that aren't graphically demanding, and you pretty much sold me on this one, it meets all my needs, plus it'll take some weight off my Desktop, I wouldn't pay 1k for it, but I see it's down to $650 now, so for that much I'd definitely say it's worth at that price point.
Hello! My acer nitro 5 laptop recently broke down and I'm looking at this as my next laptop, I hate acer design with a passion cause obviously the issues started occurring after a year even with good maintenance.
How would you describe your experience with the laptop if you got it? Games played and their performance? Any problems?
@@KaramTNC Just got this laptop but with the GTX 1650 Ti instead of the Max-Q version, will keep you updated!
@@carolinaselfie3350 its time for the update :P
Very good & honest review.
See you again soon.
Thank you. It's a deal I'll buy it.
Great job again, video is well organised and everything part was easy to follow. Looking forward for more of your videos
Thanks! I've been trying to streamline the reviews so that it doesn't run for that long, while making sure I don't miss anything I'd like to cover!
@@TechRodent hey can you let me know the difference between 10SC 611IN and 10SCXR1616IN

Great content!! Thank you so much!
I loved your review,,it helped a lot bro.keep it up
Thanks buddy, you were very helpful.
Wow awesome video overall, I found myself totally agreeing with everything you mentioned. Mine is a few years old at this point and still definitely an amazing product. I just bought an extra 8GB Ram because it only came with 8. Recommended as well, great video.
can it play apex at 60+fps?
@@arashaadd never tried Apex on PC. Fortnite runs just fine with 16 currently, I can play on near max settings no problem.
Awesome review! I'm considering buying an entry-level MSI laptop. Real solid and funny review.
Fantastic review bro, Thanks❤
Thanks for breaking it down like this 👍 well done ✔️
Wow reviewer from Boleh Land. Good Job Bro. I saw this today at computer shop.. but still thinking to buy acer Helios or HP pavilion.
you can run strip black electrical tape on the sharp edge to fix this issue
Amazing Review honestly!

Hi, great video and a year has gone by but im still looking for laptop like this and i found MSI GF63 Thin 10SC-299NEU i5-10500h/8gb/256gb/gtx1650 for 700usd. is it still an okay price or should i search another one ? Gaming isnt priority, i have(broken now) a Lenovo yoga Ultrabook(about 1700usd) wich i bought only for travelling. Now i need a powerful, home office laptop, Lenono yoga quality is amazing, but Msi? Should i buy it or not? Thanks
Thanks for the review. Most out there appears to be nonsense to an outsider like myself : )
thanks for the video
What are your thoughts on this laptop vs HP Omen 15 2020 with similar specs ?
What software did he use to show fps and cpu temps??
What do you think about display compared to acer nitro 5 ????
Need your opinion 👍
I have the same laptop, i used it couple days ago on battery for ~ 7 hours(100% --> 15%) : ms word + 8 tabs chrome + 1 virtual machine in vmware workstation with the following settings : "super battery" on dragon center & "best battery life" on the battery icon on the taskbar
Otherwise i would like to know how much of sRGB and AdobeRGB the monitor has (pourcentages) !
Hi, i've just bought this laptop, but i've seen that the screen of the laptop is not on the complete LED screen. So, the upper edge, under edge and side edges have a black stripe. Are you familiar with that?
laptop coming in right now, your review assured me it's a safe purchase. Thanks for the thorough and nice video ❣
Was it worth buying?
@@ozlem_9678 yeah so far so good. the fan works way more quiet compared to Nitro 5. and the screen is actually pretty ok, despite what everyone say in reviews. guess they're just too used to high tech screens lol but this is definitely worth the cost
can i gte the RGB color keybord on this laptop ?
I'd like to use this laptop to capture video off my PS4. Does the HDMI port ALSO receive or does it just send??
What is the difference in msi gf63 240IN and msi gf63 416IN ? Please answer

thermals and performance in design aspect? I want to edit videos and design in the adobe environment and have a good keyboard/typing for programming so does it fill that purpose?

How can i get a second monitor on this laptop?
Thank you!
I could get it for roughly £600 now, is it worth it or are there other alternatives for a similar price even £100 more that would be a better option?
Hi there, im interested to buy this model of laptop. I don't know if the refresh rate is really 144hz. Is it or not? And with how many ms?
Do you guys know if there's any diffrence between MSI GF63 Thin 10SCXR with Intelcore I5 and this? This is same brand, but i7.
Would this be better then acer nitro 5 if for fps and game play
Should I get this or an Hp omen 15?
I have a GL65 SDR which is pretty powerfull costing about 1400 to me. What i dont like on msi is the case design, places of characters, peripherals, speaker quality and fan sound at gaming. If u are not a deep gamer or CAD user, just buy a ryzen 5, its pretty good, enough, long lasting battery etc (i have also that). If no graphics card, you dont struggle with drivers etc. And dont buy a cheap display like TN or SVG, but buy an IPS. By the way, i saw lenovo ips neater than msi ips. I love lenovo and msi novadays for cost/performance/stability.
Can you tell me how to get norton security on this laptop
The biggest problem I had with this laptop is that I’ve plugged it with a monitor for a long time and then when I took it out the screen didn’t work anymore
Can I use a magnetic wrist rest with this or will the magnet destroy the components.

Thanks for the details...( :

Hello is this laptop good for computer science or information technology student?
The RAM preinstallled is single channel or dual channel? I want to buy the laptop and upgrade it and I don't know for sure.
How did you install Google play store?
Amazing job Brother.
Can I twitch stream without any problems in this laptop
the moment i saw only one fan It was game over for me. Still a good review.
Does this laptop has overheat problems?
Good Night, i want to ask a question, msi gf63 gen 10 i5 what to launching soon? Thank you
how many cooling fans are available?
I literally just bought one without doing any research what I really wanted/looking for...it was the only one left and it was $458 on clearance at Walmart and the employee said it seems them won't bring more because everything was sold out for various weeks except for that last one.
I bought it automatically and with fingers crossed i hope i made a good buy into my first step into pc gaming 🥺🙏
Can I take out parts of this laptop and put in pc case?
Have mine for 6months no problem and runs 1080p gaming pretty good, would recommend this laptop
Is it still good? How much fps do u have as dxample?
@@ozlem_9678 90 FPS on warzone titles, 170 on Val and over whatch 2, it’s a great mid tier gaming lab top 👍
Honestly 4 hours isn't bad vs the 1-2 hours of all the other gaming laptops, it's cheap and can play doom eternal at 60fps that's enough for all I want it for plus it doesn't insult my intelligence by highlighting movement keys I had to choose a different laptop in the end but honestly, looking at how this operates I recommend it for gaming.
Alternatively: the Dell G15 Ryzen Edition has the perfect battery life for anyone who needs a little alone time from their charger.
Can I run dual monitors with this laptop?
Is it really quiter than other gaming laptops as MSI advertising?
Is it worth it to buy a cooling pad for this laptop??
Price ?
is this laptop durable? cuz if i buy one now, ill prolly use it for 2 years of college and 3 or 4 years of university

Legion 5 amd Ryzen 5 or this MSI?
This laptop Or Rog strix G15 G512 i5 10 gen for long term use
mine is 60hz.is it good enough for run gta5??
I am quite late here, and I got the 11uc version of this laptop, which is basically the exact same body with different specs, namely being that it has an i511400h, a 3050, and an 144hz display. There are a few things to note though; the speakers are horrendous, my phone gets louder than those speakers. It can get quite warm while just doing nothing except browsing the web, but interestingly enough; the GPU it never goes past 75 degrees C under heavy load, and the CPU 80 degrees C. Also don't really find the sharp edge thing a problem, although that may vary from person to person. The display is not bright enough in the day, I always find myself constantly trying to find something to cover the light with, and that's indoors, didn't take it outside just yet. I would talk about performance but that's irrelevant since they're 2 different specked laptops, although 8gb is not nearly enough, and it's single channel so it's a huge bottleneck that the company decided to cheap out on for a few extra bucks, which is a shame and the average Joe wouldn't figure out why it's not a great performing laptop and probably end up selling it for a cheap price instead of spending $20 on a single stick of 8gb ram. Just sticking in another stick of 8gb in there could double the fps in some extreme cases, will definitely 100% more than double the performance in more productive tasks like editing or photoshop or anything really, but if we're speaking realistically, it will probably give a nice 25% boost in games, which makes it much more than worth it.
Although this is not only my first gaming laptop, it's my first computer as a whole, and I am more than satisfied with it.
Anyone know the best streamlabs obs settings for this laptop, because every time I try to record, the game runs at like 40 FPS and supper choppy
Use Microsoft gaming inbuilt recorder .

Is it any good for casual using aka school Spotify RUclips playing assassin‘s creed syndicate and gang beasts?
Love this machine for what it does. but top left plastic just above the esc key gets so hot it burns my finger if i hold finger down on plastic. hope it doesnt shorten its life with the extreme heat.
is this a serious gaming laptop or a light gaming laptop???
What is the colour gamut range of this laptop?
Can you tell me if it is good for content creators, I do mostly video editing.
Which is the better graphics to get with this laptop, 1650ti or 1650?
joel john it’s average around 45% ntsc
What is better...bravo 15 or this🤔🤔🤔
How does rdr2 or cyberpunk runs on it?
And also I saw MSI alfa 15 rysen 7 quad core at similar price.. so what's difference in i7 and rysen 7 and which one will you prefer?
The laptop should be perfectly fine for content creation, though the screen isn't the most colour accurate; you might want to get something with a better display of at least 100% sRGB.
I would recommend to stay away from the Alpha 15 as that laptop is still on the older Ryzen 3000 Zen+ architecture.
I want to extend the ram to 16GB, can anyone suggest which type of RAM is suitable to extend, is it CL16 or CL20 and which MHz is suitable for this laptop
