Love to see this game getting more attention, to answer two questions you had, 1) why cant i make this card a fixed ability: because its upgraded, upgraded cards cant be made fixed abilities, game only tells you this in like, one spot i forget. 2) what is healing gauge protection: makes all damage taken not break the healing gauge
Played through the whole game and is certainly in my top five roguelike deckbuilders. The party mechanic is well done, there are a lot of fun synergies between different characters (like Joey boosting Azar's blades with poison) but the best part for me was the story. Roguelikes that focus on story telling are rare and the ones who are good at story telling are even rarer. Hades showed us that an excellent story can do very well in a repeating gameplay loop. And this game does the same. The game is choke-full of plot twists and interesting cutscenes. I hope you stick with the game so you can experience them, the final boss fight was one of the most epic things I've ever seen in any video game and it would be sad if you would miss that.
When you say Whole game........ lol just making sure you mean beating with all characters, true ending, etc. I've only gone through with about half the characters and had since very close to beginning of early access. Mad props if you've 100'ed, though
I've had dumb chrono ark brainrot since the day this hit 1.0 As long and video-unfriendly as the runs can be, I'll absolutely watch any and all coverage of this you got in the pipe (:
For secret tiles, you can find them on your map when the tiles look like they’re circling an empty space. Usually a space where there’s a cart or a bush. Not a guaranteed method, but it’s the best indicator
This game is crazy anime, but man the game is incredible. Story is great, and the translation is fantastic. The gameplay is downright impressive. It's become one of my all time favorites. If you can handle the anime. Edit: After watching the rest of the video, of course I'd love to see more! I think this game has a lot of 'oh wow' moments, with the different boss fights, party member unlocks, and story beats. At least for me, it's exciting to think about how you'll react to them. Makes it a good game to watch, but that's coming from someone who has played it so maybe that is not too surprising. Regardless, great video!
This is one of the most insane story-driven deckbuilder out there, and there's a lot of depth to the game too. Anyone that love deckbuilders, this is a must-play.
Some tips: 1. You cannot add a skill that have been upgraded or have wording like "Cannot be Fixed". 2. If the enemy have action count 9+, it will always have another turn after you end the turn, but it also means you can spam skill without worrying the enemy get action.
This is my 10/10 game and one of my favorite roguelikes/lite of all time. So happy to see you covering it! The only problem with showcasing it is all the cutscenes between successful runs, since it’s a very story heavy game. Hoping to see more regardless!
Love this game tried it out and spent like 3 days non stop playing, runs do go for anywhere between 2-4 hours for me on average, stories dope and love the characters. The game is pretty easy I will say, I don’t consider myself better than average at deck builders but I’ve never lost a run in this game. Makes for great builds late in the run though! Happy to see you playing it!
This game didn't explain how many card we get draw per turn and explain you need some draw skill to draw more. You only draw 2 card per turn and couldn't draw more card then hand size. If you draw more than hand size last card in hand will discard in to discard pile. And 46:24 count down skill this game didn't explain either like the phonix say you should read them carefully 😅 and this can be use with stand by.
While the runs are somewhat long I'd love to see you cover this game. It has some great writing and the story is very interesting. The combat also gets craaazy fun with the sheer variety that all the different character combinations and interesting boss mechanics provide.
As someone that 100% this game I'm glad to see it finally be out and people cover it more! Don't know if anyone wrote it yet. But you can't fix upgraded abilities
oh, i really liked it. played it quite a lot but don't know how to handle the last boss. game feels pretty smooth, they didn't really have a lot of cutscenes when i started though
haven't caught many streaming it you start with a lot of resources every battle so normal quick fights are easy, but i don't really know if i'm doing boss fights right.
Finally, it's been so long! When I first found out about this years ago it was mostly Asian speakers playing and the only English speaker playing stopped after a while.
The runs can go kinda long, but the gameplay and mechanics are great in this. You can make some really fun party builds and combo plays. The characters all have relatively interesting unique mechanics, and many of the bosses require you to play around their own mechanics and such. Towards the ends the fights get pretty crazy.
This game is extremely special to me, I have about 200 hours. The story goes to some very interesting places. Highly recommend switching to expert difficulty when it becomes available to you!
In the words of Kanye West “Yo Retromation, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Pokerogue has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
Put about 40 hours into this with more to go. Got the first "ending". I sum it up as Slay the Spire meets Doki Doki Literature Club lol. The rogue like deck building has a ton of variety thanks to all the characters. The story is pretty good, albeit a little cliche at times. Skippable for anyone not interested though, which is good. Glad you got to try it!
Games fantastic started playing with the 1.0 drop and have been playing it none stop. great game play and characters with an interesting story game does alot of different things compared to other card roguelikes. The card drawing mechanic took a little before i understood it. On turn one you get the 2 draw from lucy then one card for every character you have. Then every other turn you just draw 2. The add card draw level up on lucy does not add card draw it just gives you a lucy skill which usually involves drawing cards.
Chrono Ark is a really cool game, but the runs are really long (not uncommon to reach 4 hours for me). Not sure how well those long runs would do here, but for now I'm adding my view to the count.
Man, it was on my radar since 1.0 came out. Looked pretty interesting at a glance but seeing you describing it as fantastic... I need to prepare my wallet
was playing through across the obelisk recently and was thinking about this game, haven't really played a lot of party based card games otherwise. didn't run into any infinitely spawning rabbits in it though
30:17 i think "secret walls" tend to be close to encounters but don't know if there are better way's to tell. one scroll can remove encounters which might not be a good thing.
Just a warning though, this game can get extremely difficult. You really need to save up your consumables and be in peak condition for two specific enemies. The final boss, and the horses in the circus levels.
I mean, there's not much to theorise. Pretty much everything is explained other than one specific plot point that seems to have been dropped during development
shame this game doesnt lend itself to content creation, wouldve like to see you puzzle your way through it think its one of the best deckbuilders out right now
played over 100 hrs of this, it is outstandingly good in story and arts in this genre, and the 4 characters system makes it pretty replayable too cons: the normal mode is too easy, and there is only a hard mode, which is the opposite of fair and balanced : some elite enemies act multiple times and basically like transient in sts (you deal damage fast or die trying) you need team members with synergy to win, so not always replayability since your core might be the same guys if you get bad luck you can miss out on the cards you need (and most characters have like only 3 to 4 good cards only) 98% accuracy cap, which makes no sense in a roguelike, yeah you can just lose a run out of nowhere because you missed high damage ability, twice. worse than this, other than fixing the balancing issues, it released a day 1 dlc which has some pretty broken items/skills
I’m sure you got a comment for it already, but upgraded skills can’t be fixed or removed from the deck. I don’t think the game tells you this, so choose wisely

This game is absolutely amazing and addicting once you learn the mechanics, glad you are covering this.

I've had dumb chrono ark brainrot since the day this hit 1.0
As long and video-unfriendly as the runs can be, I'll absolutely watch any and all coverage of this you got in the pipe (:
25:20 Upgraded skills can't be fixed abilities! That can be important to keep in mind.

Anyone that love deckbuilders, this is a must-play.
Would love to see more of this game
This game is absolutely amazing, but never forget that Goddish in his pc on pokerogue is crying.
Glad you're playing this. I've really enjoyed it myself.

This game has been one of my favorite games this past month, such a good time
I am addicted to this. Glad that you are covering it.
I would like to see more, really liking this and a series would be lovely ☺️
It certainly seems interesting, I wouldn't mind watching more. Also, gotta love the Anime Reto icon on the thumbnail, truly immaculate.

adore this game, and its so fun watching you play it! hoping for more :)
Well this got me to remember I have this and start up, pretty cool so far, I'd certainly be interested in seeing you finish a run
I love the little anime eyes you put in the thumbnail on the upper right! Fun detail
While the runs are somewhat long I'd love to see you cover this game. It has some great writing and the story is very interesting. The combat also gets craaazy fun with the sheer variety that all the different character combinations and interesting boss mechanics provide.
I would love a series on this!
One of the best games in the genre - so stoked for a series
Please do more :) love your videos bro. Keep it up. Retro for life!
As someone that 100% this game I'm glad to see it finally be out and people cover it more!
Don't know if anyone wrote it yet. But you can't fix upgraded abilities
Props! I'm only like 50-60% completed. Love the story and characters.
HeCk yes! I hope you enjoy the game as much as i have
I really hope we get to see more of this.
For more Chrono Ark gameplay!
So good! I gotta pick this up, right up my alley
oh, i really liked it. played it quite a lot but don't know how to handle the last boss.

More Chrono ark please and thank you
44:15 Truly embracing the Hein spirit 🤣
Finally, it's been so long! When I first found out about this years ago it was mostly Asian speakers playing and the only English speaker playing stopped after a while.
I do hope you can at least get to one of the endings. The penultimate final fight's super fun cinematically and mechanically.
Ol’ retro kun back playing anime games which he loves sooo much
I'm loving this and would love to see more
I love this game. Azar's skills can be op with the right synergies.
Interesting. I'll be trying this for sure

This is truly a great game. Just got the true ending, but can't put it down, even though there are so much great indie games to play.
This game is extremely special to me, I have about 200 hours. The story goes to some very interesting places. Highly recommend switching to expert difficulty when it becomes available to you!

I want to see more of this!!!
hey I love this game! cool to see you making a video on it 😊
I'd like to see more especially how the Rouge"lite" elements fit into it.
More! I want it bad. Give it to me!… the series I mean…
this is good, imagine though reto doing a series on an anime game
if I wasn't convinced before I'm all in now
Waiting for Reto to be coasting until the bosses lol. You will die: alot.

Oh sweet. I haven't played this one since it was in early stages of EA. Neat to see what it's become and I need to revisit it too I guess.
YOOOOO! i love this game, hope you enjoy it also
I love this game I would love you to try at least one full run
Chrono Ark! Finally! I love this game!
Chrono ark! Chrono ark! Chrono Ark!
Chrono Ark is a really cool game, but the runs are really long (not uncommon to reach 4 hours for me). Not sure how well those long runs would do here, but for now I'm adding my view to the count.
Commenting for More!
Lots of twisties and turnies in your future :)
Man, it was on my radar since 1.0 came out. Looked pretty interesting at a glance but seeing you describing it as fantastic... I need to prepare my wallet
looks like i played it between 2020-2022, feels like it was a long time ago. it felt really good though
was playing through across the obelisk recently and was thinking about this game, haven't really played a lot of party based card games otherwise. didn't run into any infinitely spawning rabbits in it though
I am intrigued by the story.

46:20 it's the "countdown 2" part, think the red hooded character has some relevant stuff maybe it'd be described if you pick her
I can smell the loreeeeee! I want game theory to cover this now, but my hope is low with how obscure of a game this is
I mean, there's not much to theorise. Pretty much everything is explained other than one specific plot point that seems to have been dropped during development
@@Water_Connoisseur you say that now, but you don’t know what they might dig up, might not even be related to the main plot

is a nice game have a lot of fun , cant wait for card-en-ciel xD
Man, pokerogue got a crazy update.
Very much interested 😁
shame this game doesnt lend itself to content creation, wouldve like to see you puzzle your way through it
think its one of the best deckbuilders out right now
25;22 when you upgraded the skill it said upgraded or downgraded skills cant be used as a fixed ability
THIS GAME IS AMAZING
Really liking this game this past week, but [last boss name] on elite is hard as hell. Had to drop back to normal just to finish the story.
Death to chronos cracked me up
they let joey die first in the little intro. if they kept the medic looking guy alive they wouldn't have died i bet
Alot to see here, would like to see more if we not doing pokerogue anymore
More!
Series pls
played over 100 hrs of this,
it is outstandingly good in story and arts in this genre, and the 4 characters system makes it pretty replayable too
cons: the normal mode is too easy, and there is only a hard mode, which is the opposite of fair and balanced :
some elite enemies act multiple times and basically like transient in sts (you deal damage fast or die trying)
you need team members with synergy to win, so not always replayability since your core might be the same guys
if you get bad luck you can miss out on the cards you need (and most characters have like only 3 to 4 good cards only)
98% accuracy cap, which makes no sense in a roguelike, yeah you can just lose a run out of nowhere because you missed high damage ability, twice.
worse than this, other than fixing the balancing issues, it released a day 1 dlc which has some pretty broken items/skills
I’m sure you got a comment for it already, but upgraded skills can’t be fixed or removed from the deck. I don’t think the game tells you this, so choose wisely
Where's the next video? It's been a week!
this was a Let's Try video, not a series
More plz!
One may say that is convenient, I however think it would be traumatizing.
id like to watch more please.
like to see more.
23:14 it's funny
yes pls
chrono ark is niche, but it is good.
Please play more
I don't know why but RUclips keeps shadowbanning your content on restricted mode
Its weird
