the voice acting here was absolutely phenomenal. hearing the pain in his voice was heartbreaking, especially since we’re so used to hearing him talk all high and mighty and act sassy towards those around him. hearing him practically beg for the gnosis was everything, you could tell how much it meant to him, the way everything he did up to that point was for the gnosis; how having that role of a “god” was so important :( i love scaramouche so much
this fr one reaps what they sow as that one comment said but my lord Patrick did an amazing job at voicing his desperation. tears welled up in my eyes as I heard it;;
Yeah, while Scaramouche has undoubtly done bad things around, i still feel bad for him. He was abandoned more than one time and his sanity for humankind pratically vanished and became his thirst for revenge, which led him to steal his mother's gnosis in order to become a god himself and change everything to his point of view. It's quite a huge reflection of how heartless things can also have feelings and how that can become their driving force towards a bigger ambition to crave for vengeance against those who looked down on them. Edit: Yes, of course, there are parts on his backstory that imply that some of the persons who abandoned him didn't actually "abandoned" him and broke their promise, therefore becoming a huge misunderstanding, but i just wanted to simplify instead of writing a huge text.
I cried so much during this scene, I am used to his JP voice acting and the voice acting was delivered brilliantly, the emotion, desperation, the feeling of agony that he is losing the only thing that defines and symbolises his entire life -- the Electro Gnosis. It breaks my heart so much watching the scene, it's emotional beyond words, I love him so much.
fr i thought he was greedy until he said “please” i got a whole mood switch when i realised whats happening :( its like his heart and he just wants a heart
The way he crawled out of the head, ripped his cords off, desperately reaching out for the gnosis saying “I’ll never go back” gave me chills. What does he not want to go back to? Is the question. So much emotion in a span of 10 seconds... I’ve never been _this_ impacted by a cutscene in genshin until now.
It's definitely open to interpretation, but I think he means the domain he was initially locked inside. It wasn't the first time he had the electro gnosis as Ei tried to put it into him. But he couldn't bear it, it seemed to hurt him. Thus, Ei had no use for Scara, as holding the gnosis was the entire purpose for his creation. Still, she couldn't bring herself to destroy him and that's why she sealed him away. While it looked like mercy to Ei, it seems that Scara doesn't have much pleasant memories about his time in the domain. While Traveler obviously wouldn't drag his ass all the way back to the Inazuma domain, he's acting so much out of character here, I feel like his deepest fears come forth and he just yells it out on emotions - he fears of once again being "useless" without gnosis and being brought back to his stasis, when he wasn't dead, but neither did he live, when he was as good as non-existant.
If I remember correctly, in the Husk of Opulent Dreams set, Scara's mentioned to lack a 'heart', and wishes very desperately to have one. I'm assuming that he doesn't want to go back to not being able to feel anything again, as compared to having a heart and being able to feel things. Here's the last paragraph of the Song of Life (Sands of Eon): "Good and evil were the song of sentient life, useless and cacophonous. But if he were to wrench this 'heart' out, He would no longer be able to feel anything at all..." Poor guy didn't want to go back to feeling nothing again :(
The light fading from his eyes kills me- its a perfect double entendre of him loosing power and absolutely just giving up. He full on accepted and wished for death the moment he fell. To him losing the gnosis was worse than death itself ;;;
Scara didn’t cry and I think thats what made this worse. There were no tears to be shed- just absolute and total despair- he let himself be consumed by his misery before hitting the floor.
Nahida is hands down, the best archon so far. She gave mercy and a second chance to scara when most others wouldn’t have. She managed to give actual info about our sibling and the cataclysm and tricked two harbingers in a row. Sumeru and the sages really don’t deserve her. She was selfless despite all the shit she had to go through when most archon gave away their duties. She will make a formidable god for the future no doubt about that.
And she was willing to make everyone including her to forget rukkhadevata just to save sumeru i think she'll be an even better god than rukkhadevata just like she said
Edit: OKAY! I've learnt that Nahida did infact spare Scara and is watching him during his coma, i didnt know that because I didnt complete the quest. Apologies on my half. Still tho, if they had stopped him from falling he wouldnt even be in a coma, but ANYWAY, beggers can't be choosers. Please stop commenting on this cause it is sort of annoying to see the same message repeated by different people, even after I repeated myself countless of times. And I'm sorry if I've caused any annoyance on your halfs aswell! This will be my last offical comment/edit. Enjoy your days! -Signed, Offical Scara Simp. Original message: She gave him a second chance? She let him fall to his "death", then proceeded to give away T W O gnosises to a harbinger. She could have gained the information on the fake sky from Scara if she truly gave him a second chance.
@@lsaacthecraftsman He tried taking her gnosis 168 times, but I get your point. But still, I don't think it's morally right just to allow someone to fall to their death without any attempt to save them. Point is, she didn't spare him, she just left him, there's a difference.
I will always feel sad for him but also know that this had to come whether he liked it or not. Nahida looked guilty as he screamed for her to give it back. She knew how badly he wanted the gnosis in his possession. She took it gently and showed no malice intent and that is one thing I love about this cutscene. The fact that Nahida showed mercy to the person who wanted to kill her people. Stan Nahida. Anyways, back to Scara. This point in his life would never be fun, but we all knew it had to happen. He wouldn't just be able to go parading off with the gnosis and live happily as much as he might want because so many people would die and as much as I love his character, massacres aren't cute. The hard part wasn't the fact that it has to happen. We a knew it did. The hard part was seeing it. Tldr: stop acting like all Scara fans think he's a saint because he's not he's a menace and I still love him
Exactly! Scaramouche is a complex character and I love him for that. His complexity and reasons don't make him a saint but still a terrible person and I love him for that.
Nahida out of everyone in Tevyat is probably the one who can understand him. No strangers to abandonment or neglect and reminded everyday of their lives that they are a shoddy "fake" compared to the real thing. Scara isn't Ei and Nahida isn't Rukkhadevata. Never being good enough and being no strangers to solitary confinement. He sought to become real through the gnosis, but Nahida knows that it isn't the gnosis that makes a god "real".
@@Doshoki I was told if Scaramouche succeeded in his mission, Dottore would've turned him into a mindless puppet entirely in his control, and that would be even more of a cruel fate considering all of his past betrayals. Nahida did what had to be done.

idc what anyone says i honestly feel so bad for scara. yes, he was a villain but i constantly think of what he could’ve become if the world didn’t turn his back on him. he was betrayed by his mother, nagamasa, and his friend. you can’t blame him for hardening his heart and turning himself against everyone. at the end of the day, he still has that gentle nature inside of him. he continues to visits his friend’s grave, and all he truly wanted was to be deemed worthy. idc abt the things he’s done, for me personally he’s just a character who i have so much pity for.
The music, the voice acting, the animation, all the things he said, and literally everything, I cried. You could really feel the desperation in his voice, Patrick did a phenomenal job voicing him. God do I love everything about this cutscene and all the new cutscenes. I really love Scaramouche and enjoy his character, I would write a whole essay about his character right here and now if I could since people love to focus on one aspect of a character and ignore the rest. Whether it be by excusing their actions because of their past or think their entire personality and depth is their wrongdoings only. He doesn't need justification nor does he need to be all about his wrong actions only, Scaramouche is a great character bc of all his aspects and I enjoy them all. They're what makes him a complex and interesting character.

This is what genshin needed, a morally grey villain that has done the undeniable under circumstances out of his control, he was created to be a puppet god why would he understand human concepts, it’s gonna take insane writing and story quests but i’m very excited for how genshin is gonna explore his character
@@mrminecraftcubeable morality doesn't have to boil down to what's good for others, that's not grey at all, in this context that would be more like a cheap sympathy card to pull to make a his actions seem justified. @@mrminecraftcubeable it's an egotistical action founded on a history of abandonment and pain and plenty of people have experienced what he's been through to some extent, losing loved ones and friends, being abandoned by family.. Morality isn't simply "selfish = bad and selfless = good," that's a stupid metric to judge people by and it basically turns things into pure black and white.
Returning to Inazuma and taking the Electro Gnosis from Yae - Scaramouche: Homecoming Coming to Sumeru and building a giant mecha body to become a new god - Scaramouche: Far From Home Losing everything you've been working so hard for and becoming the nameless wanderer to find a new meaning in life - Scaramouche: No Way Home
Before 3.1 he always talked so high and mighty of himself sounded like the cleverest one in the world, in his backstory cutscene he sounded so sad and lonely, But here, amongst the pain and agony, we hear something in his voice we've never heard before... *Desperation.* Scaramouche is literally crawling out of his Mech begging for Nahida to not take away the Gnosis because of how desperate he is for things to not go back to the way they were, And during this, Nahida doesn't even try and say something back or do anything else to make him more sad because she knows how painful this is for him.
And going back to the Delusion Factory lines, it's sad too. Because when I first did it I though the was pushing traveler's buttons, but he actually thinks what he's saying is true and is PROJECTING HARD.
God, i love that Nahida showed mercy to him, that pitiful expression she made when Scaramouche busted out of the head to reach out for the electro gnosis. everything was so sad, the way he fell and didn't do anything about it, accepting his fate, or rather, he couldn't do anything about it his energy was definitely depleted, there was no way he could do anything without his energy or the gnosis the gnosis was so precious to him, it hurts him to see his own gnosis being taken away now, if scaramouche had brought the gnosis to the tsaritsa, he'd have to watch what could've been his heart being played like a chest piece his past was full of misunderstandings and miscommunications god it even hurts ME to see this but even so, his actions will not be redeemed, will not be forgiven, that is how this world works love him tho, i still kin him in many different ways

Scaramouche's entire purpose is to be a vessel for Ei and have the Gnosis as his heart. Taking away the Gnosis from him basically is taking away his heart and his entire being from him. It is sad and I feel bad for him, But he still did many wrong and evil things.
Ei did far worse wrong and evil things. Everyone ignores the actual canon archon quest lore and story quest lore. She was an evil tyrant. Knew and approved of everything. But she gets off Scott Free cause she is hot. And everyone forgets/pretends she is innocent.
@@riatanina And? Does that change the fact that Scaramouche did evil things? I'm not even talking about Ei, I'm talking about Scaramouche and here you are barking about Ei. I'm just talking about how I feel bad for Scaramouche despite all the evil He's done and all his wrongdoings. I'm not here to talk about who did worse. Also Ei isn't even an evil tyrant, Inazuma is a peaceful country for Hundreds of years that Ei is an archon but things only go south about a year or two ago, But even then, it was mostly the fatui who messed up the country. That ain't an Evil Tyrant ruler, That's more of Ei being Careless leader when the fatui made their move.

To be made to hold this "heart", then after centuries of pain and betrayal he finally got what he wanted... You can really feel the pain in his voice when that heart is going to be taken away from him.
This scene alone told me much about him more than any other page or voiceline could. He could have been a god, but was rejected by his own creator, no wonder he fought his way through devious means to get to that height. All that he worked for, all the power he had was in his hands was what kept him on a high, only for that only hope he desired to be taken away from him, Ei's gnosis. the “i’ll never go back” was just so fucking heartbreaking. for the longest time scaramouche longed for a heart to call his own, after Ei deemed him too fragile for the gnosis, he was left as empty as one can get. he obtained a delusion, a false heart filled with selfishness, hypocrisy, and curses. it would never amount anything to a real heart, however if he tore it out, nothing would remain and he’d be a husk yet again. scaramouche’s character is a tragic one, and in my opinion is the saddest and most well-written the game has had to offer. i’m really excited to see whats to come of his character next.
‘ Still one of the best showcase of voice acting I’ve seen in the game. You can feel the desperation in his voice. It made me want to sympathize with him at that moment.
It's a moral conflict. The thing Balladeer wanted most in the world was the Gnosis. Seeing how desperate he was in trying to achieve it, You would think 'After everything he went through, let him have it'. But look at what he did once he had it. What he done in Pardis Dhyai and how he treated another god... Resentment towards his mother that abandoned him is one thing, but this was an outside party...
It makes sense he wants and says the gnosis is his, he was the original and first puppet of ei serving the purpose of ruling over inazuma and protecting the gnosis.
The voice actor makes it impossible for me to not sympathise... he tried to kill me and hurt nahida and tignari and many but that one word "please" from him tore my aching heart... ohhh scara.... I wish u have someone.

I also don't get why so many people are sad. Though I wouldn't say his desperation made me happy. It was more like a "meh" of acknowledgement as well as make my already high opinion of Nahida tick slightly higher.

Normally not, after boss fights, the traveler usually has a bit more dialogue with the boss they're with, so he might as well wake up later, but it's mostly a speculation.

this is probably my favorite score in genshin impact. Due to how it represents a tragic ending to the 500 years of suffering and loosing the key that was promised to make him the god he was destined to be, with tunes of inazuma showing that he truly has lost. And even with the tasks it fills it still is Amazing without it in mind.
Because it's tied with the purpose of his existence, which is housing the Gnosis and becoming a God. It means a lot to him, so losing it would be terrifying. That, and probably what the first reply said lmao.
It's a bundle of emotions all packed into one panicked urge to keep the gnosis; it's indirectly acknowledgment from his mother he always wanted, it's the heart he felt like he needed to make himself whole and fulfill the reason for his creation, it's a separation of him from the bleak "human" existence he once suffered through and that caused him nothing but pain, and it's the only chance he has to be a God and to feel wanted by his followers (the only one being Haypasia) People definitely oversimplify his motivations all the time, and a lot of the people in the comments really don't quite understand what he went through/is going through and just want to hate someone and not really critically think or analyze.
The flash they show when scaramouche felt his gnosis being taken as if his whole life was gonna end then and there (tbh it's was his original function) but still his whole purpose being denied again and again for the 2 nd time in his life
I just really hope that this is just part of his character development. From being an antagonist to the traveler to slowly becoming the protagonist. I hope Ei will show up somewhere into the life of Scaramouche to make up all the misunderstanding between mother and son. When that takes place, the balladeer will soften his heart and maybe he will play a major role in helping the travel to defeat the fatuis or the tsaritsa. Since he used to be a part of the fatui harbingers, he'll serve as a great asset into leaking some information about the goals of the cryo archon.
Scaramouche is voiced by Lu Yin (who also voices Aether) in Chinese, by Patrick Pedraza in English, and by Tetsuya Kakihara in Japanese. Kakihara has also voiced Natsu Dragneel and E.N.D. in Fairy Tail and Prompto Argentum in Final Fantasy XV.

Hearing from the next update, this proves that Nahida is the best archon. Knowing that Scaramouche has done so painful things to the others, she still helps him redeem himself. The Scaramouche we know will be no longer there but only her and the traveler will remember. Also remember that most anemo characters has dead electro close friends, this is likely the same but to himself only.
Goddd this is so good and the VA is amazing!! The pure pain and human emotion that comes out of scara, while just before he’s still desperately trying to hold onto the facade of a god, with the whole “filthy humans”. It’s also a good contrast to nahida, who while she is trying the best for her people, lacks that human emotion, and you can see it on her face when she looks at scara
I’m just gonna say it. He is my favorite character in this story, but I personaly think his story should have ended here in him falling to his death. Born to be the wielder of Ei’s gnosis but tossed away due to him not being the right product for the job, destined to be the shogun but tossed away, have all of those around him be played against him by the doctor and ending up all alone after loosing the child who would have been a symbol of rebirth and retrubution and turning him into the perfect candidate for a member of the tsaritsa’s group, who’s mission was to break teyvat out of celestia. Everything turning him into what he became. Getting the gnosis from yaemiko, the key to giving him the life he was destined to have, then become a god who’d get revenge on all the humans and take over. And in the end, being stopped by buer, and loose everything he worked for, for 500 years. Then in his last moments, witnesing that key being taken back. Then in his desperation to stop her, he falls…. In his last moments, hating everyone, and giving completely up on the world as his head cracks into a pulp on the ground. Ending his life. I feel that conclusion would have been a tragic and beautiful ending to the best character in genshin impact.

While Traveler obviously wouldn't drag his ass all the way back to the Inazuma domain, he's acting so much out of character here, I feel like his deepest fears come forth and he just yells it out on emotions - he fears of once again being "useless" without gnosis and being brought back to his stasis, when he wasn't dead, but neither did he live, when he was as good as non-existant.
genshin’s impact
If I remember correctly, in the Husk of Opulent Dreams set, Scara's mentioned to lack a 'heart', and wishes very desperately to have one. I'm assuming that he doesn't want to go back to not being able to feel anything again, as compared to having a heart and being able to feel things.
Here's the last paragraph of the Song of Life (Sands of Eon):
"Good and evil were the song of sentient life, useless and cacophonous.
But if he were to wrench this 'heart' out,
He would no longer be able to feel anything at all..."
Poor guy didn't want to go back to feeling nothing again :(
The light fading from his eyes kills me- its a perfect double entendre of him loosing power and absolutely just giving up. He full on accepted and wished for death the moment he fell. To him losing the gnosis was worse than death itself ;;;
Scara didn’t cry and I think thats what made this worse. There were no tears to be shed- just absolute and total despair- he let himself be consumed by his misery before hitting the floor.
No because I thought of this exactly too and by that point I'd already used up all my sadness juice.

And she was willing to make everyone including her to forget rukkhadevata just to save sumeru i think she'll be an even better god than rukkhadevata just like she said
And thats on being a real girlboss✨
Edit: OKAY! I've learnt that Nahida did infact spare Scara and is watching him during his coma, i didnt know that because I didnt complete the quest. Apologies on my half. Still tho, if they had stopped him from falling he wouldnt even be in a coma, but ANYWAY, beggers can't be choosers.

Original message: She gave him a second chance? She let him fall to his "death", then proceeded to give away T W O gnosises to a harbinger. She could have gained the information on the fake sky from Scara if she truly gave him a second chance.
@@Huncarite And what would she have gained in saving him from his fall ? Lmao. He straight up tried to murder her 168 times.
Also keep in mind if She didn’t took it. A strong Fatui harbinger would’ve done so.. and will inflict more damage to Scaramouche..

@@sneakretster it's a purely egotistical motivation and he didn't care who died to obtain it there's nothing gray about it

Before 3.1 he always talked so high and mighty of himself sounded like the cleverest one in the world, in his backstory cutscene he sounded so sad and lonely,
But here, amongst the pain and agony, we hear something in his voice we've never heard before... *Desperation.* Scaramouche is literally crawling out of his Mech begging for Nahida to not take away the Gnosis because of how desperate he is for things to not go back to the way they were,
And during this, Nahida doesn't even try and say something back or do anything else to make him more sad because she knows how painful this is for him.

Probably fearing of turning back into a lost immortal with trust issues that's all.
Because it's tied with the purpose of his existence, which is housing the Gnosis and becoming a God. It means a lot to him, so losing it would be terrifying. That, and probably what the first reply said lmao.
It's a bundle of emotions all packed into one panicked urge to keep the gnosis; it's indirectly acknowledgment from his mother he always wanted, it's the heart he felt like he needed to make himself whole and fulfill the reason for his creation, it's a separation of him from the bleak "human" existence he once suffered through and that caused him nothing but pain, and it's the only chance he has to be a God and to feel wanted by his followers (the only one being Haypasia)
People definitely oversimplify his motivations all the time, and a lot of the people in the comments really don't quite understand what he went through/is going through and just want to hate someone and not really critically think or analyze.

That fact that he called Traveler human is not true since he or she is a world traveler and survived 500 years in a coma during the archon war
Bro him getting clapped into a pancake rejuvenated my very soul like that shit is as addicting as a drug
Me losing a limited character to qiqi:
I would give him a hug 😭
I find it satisfying how desperate he sounds after he talked down to us the whole time.
I feel like he another reason he didn’t want to lose the gnosis is cause it’s the only thing that made him feel like he was still with his mother
Does anyone know the song name that begins at 0:18?
all in one all in vain
"All in one, all in vain"
Scaramouche is voiced by Lu Yin (who also voices Aether) in Chinese, by Patrick Pedraza in English, and by Tetsuya Kakihara in Japanese. Kakihara has also voiced Natsu Dragneel and E.N.D. in Fairy Tail and Prompto Argentum in Final Fantasy XV.
The music at 00:18 , + 9999 goosebumps, anyone knows the name of this incredible ost??
Teppei in the sky watching Scaramouche shitting himself on the ground:
🙂 I hope you are well...
I cried during this cutscene :(. I love scaramouche so much and seeing him this heartbroken was pure pain.
I was so happy finally seeing him being scared and sad🥰
Tf are you sad for? Scaramouche is a fking egositic murderer. You are weird.
The way he just fell head first with that speed just made me laugh for some reason
the way Nahida just ignores scara as she flies down and carries on talking like he didn't just go oof behind her😂👌
His "Aagghh" is so heartbreaking 0:49
cool reminder as the prototype Raiden Shogun his main duty was to protect the gnosis, bro got reset to his factory settings
When he’s falling.. oh my god. Literal chills man. This whole scene is so impactful..
Raiden: Are ya winning, son?
Scara: Shut up, Mom...
I wish his backstory was delved on more than a simple cutscene. Would have made this scene hit way harder
It was enough for many people going by the comments
@@carlospomares3225 to be fair the bulk of genshin fans are pretty easily satisfied no matter what genshin does. Not saying it was bad, the story is the best it’s been since launch, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
You might didnt follow the leak yet. But i do think that hyv just cut his backstory into the next patch..
Is it just me, When the part scara started falling it just reminds me of Kirumi Tojo from danganronpa 3
This scene broke me.
They way he screamed and then fell and just accepted it
Scarasmouchee deserves all my pulls.
I was so happy when I saw him scared and screaming 🥰 He finally got what he deserves: pain and punishment
@@happy_frog
His redemtion arc is comming…
No one Realise that scara said humans filthy humans and signora said filthy rats all of you ????????
It kinda sound the same tbh 😂
They couldn't cos he was to be playable, and they can't kill a playable character. Besides atonement is what grants true peace. Not dying with your problems.
Scenes like this make me even more excited for the future Genshin anime
This shows all tho a child, nahida proved herself as a cruel archon
He literally tried to end her life and commited genocide of many while being a fatui
She simply defended her nation. Lol you scara fans are unbelievable
0:17 its always the 20-30 second soundtracks that go hard
bro- the way aether paimon and nahida just watched scaramouche fall and nobody helped him 🫤
They should make a movie of this game
POV: you took the AA batteries out of the flashlight
Death rock lol😂
😭😭💀💀💀LMAO
0:17 is this in sumeru ost?
The way he just fell on his head 💀
You upload so fast💀💀
