theory (update): they're all escaping from their own fears/their own self imposed prisons xiaojun's fear might be two things. he could be claustrophobic, which explains the vertigo feeling he has in the small space in which he's locked, the feeling like the walls are coming down on him, and the heat that's associated with it. or he could be afraid of pressure itself, he might fear not being able to meet up with his and others expectations of himself and his work hendery is afraid of drowning. his video and winwin's confirm the theory that they're being experimented on. and I think these experiments play with their fears. that's why it's a self imposed prison. you can see that in his drugged state he's in an empty place surrounded by water and there's only a well in the center of the room. the only ground he can walk on is the edge of the well. he's always afraid and in tension, because at any time he could fall down in the water and drown yangyang is a tricky one. it's not very clear what is his fear because I think he's the most comfortable with it. there's a reason why his video is the last. because he already has the key of getting out of this facility. he already has the answer. he overcame his fear by being creative - doing art - and is trying to show the others. in his turn back time game his password is "see the v". every other member has a v tattooed on their body. they are the answer. they are the only ones that can free themselves. their music, their creativity is the key. wayv is how can they cope with their fears. at the same time this might be his fear. losing his creativity. in the turn back time videos when he's drugged he keeps drawing like he's unaware of what he's doing. like he's not making art at all. just randomly drawing. but deep down he knows how to get out. that's why you can only see the v when he's awake. @@ameenashafiq216 you're not an idiot, it was a twitter exclusive thing, I think. on wayv's official twitter they posted a game in which you had to help rescue the members. every day they unlocked a new member. at the end there was a password and the clues for the passwords were in the awaken videos and mvs. when you typed the right passwords they unlocked exclusive extra pictures from the photoshoots, you can find all these extra videos on twitter in the wayv pics profile, they posted all of them, their user on twitter is @wayvpictures, hope that helps
THEORY: I think that Hendery and Winwin's trailers are somehow connected because of the pills and the glass of water shown in the teaser.... Also, they all seem to have special abilities such as Kun might have psychic powers , Winwin might be a werewolf or might have transportation as he was not sitting in the chair in the first few secs but then later he was... Lucas has blood and cut marks at his back and feathers on the ground and he looks up at the ceiling a lot which totally depicts a sad angel whose wings have been chopped off maybe.... Xiaojun might have the ability to control temperature maybe ? By Hendery 's background we can assume that he is being kept in a garden with a pool of water but if only he could have controlled water ., then why to set up a garden ? Maybe he is like a reptile with aqua abilities..... YangYang seems to be a little playfull and psycho as he gives out a maniacal laugh just like Kun .. And both of them have two marks on their face on the right... Kun got it due to glass cut and Yangyang painted it..... I think Ten is some sort of Jailor or something else idk...... In the first scene/shot you can see him drawing something on the ground with a crayon but if you look close you can see "STOP" written on the wall and on the ground. You can also read "TORN & MY TURN" on the wall and ground. Maybe they are sick, tired, and torn from what they're going through and want it to stop? When Yangyang was laughing I paused and then I saw the words "Turn Back"I can also read the word time but if behind the word time there is the word "STOP". Maybe they want to stop time and want to do it all over to stop this? OR they need to turn back in time? There are also some other words like "DANGER" but the D looks almost not visible so it's anger?? "LIST" & "ALONE" Maybe the person or whatever it could be has a list of dangerous things they could do to the members to experiment on them? But, it could also be something different cuz in my country the word list is like a trap. So maybe this is all a trap? or they're all alone in this and have to escape alone? there was also written on the wall "TIME IS OVER NCTZEN" I think that was it?? and next to it it says "TICTOC" so maybe this all has to do with time? Like time is running out? Turn back in time? also, on the very top that long stick thingy there is written on it "I CAN'T" maybe it has something to do with the word stop? I can't stop? I CAN SEE THE WORD TIME MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE WALL OR ON THE GROUND + I CAN SEE "TURN BAD" ON THE WALL. Maybe that's a sign of someone or something wanting the boys to turn bad? Also, Yangyang is casually drawing on the wall on the right from him but I kinda figured out what is said, this is what I could make it out from. " In plans great, I know maybe" Maybe Yangyang knows about the person's plan? also, on the skateboard block thing if you look close you can see there's written "The Time" with a crown above it. So is time the key? Also, in the scene where there are painted red V's, It looks like a hand is touching the V. (The V on the right and then the one that touches the ceiling) IDK I suck at theories and there are way too many theories and options. But these are just my thoughts of what it possibly could be. THEORY: what we know so far... Updated again! TEN: he's not in a cell like the others. He's free. He escaped from whatever that is. Maybe a prision, maybe a weird lab. He hears voices, whispers, when he walks by the cells. The other members tell him things. At the end we can hear all the voices at once. *Telepathy? Maybe?* Others are saying that he's the prision guard since he has the keys and it's not helping them to escape. But the cells do not open with keys, they need a password. Also the siren, in his video we can hear a siren just at the beginning so I think he actually escaped as the others wants to. His code: 1010 wich is 10 in binary code. This could be his "experiment code"? since they could be in a lab? Maybe his room number? KUN: He's dangerous and it's in a typical room from an assylum. *His power: telekinesis.* This is shown when he walks and the glass float in the air. He escaped by his own breaking the glass and scratching the walls with those glasses/pieces of mirror. (This makes me think: it could be those mirrors that only work one side? 1 is a window and the other a mirror? Maybe someone was watching him in his crazy loneliness??) He has a "V" tattoo on his arm. Binary code: 1011 wich is 11 in binary code. Psycopath laugh. again: he's dangerous. WINWIN: Pills and a lot of chains right at the beginning. He's powerfull. Maybe those pills are tranquilizers? (Plus, they have 2 colors. Matrix reference??) we can hear steps, someone entered the room. He's on a kind of throne. Maybe they're making fun of him like: "so powerfull, so strong but without freedom"? Also, we can see a red light. Maybe the sign that someone is watching him? I've seen a comment that said he was collecting his feathers to use them to escape. Maybe that was what he did. Binary code: 10100 wich is 20 XIAOJUN: right at the beginning we see him in a kind of boiler room(? and at the end of the hallway we see a red light (the same red light as in Winwin's video?) also, when he stands up, the hallway seems to stretches and then he's across the hall. This makes me think. *His power is super speed* Why do I think this? well, at first I thought it could be teletransportation because of the hallway thing. BUT at the end of the video we see him standing up again and the steam seems to slow down a little. At the same time we can hear his heart beat. The red light makes me think: did he helped Winwin to escape? Were his footsteps what we heard? Or maybe he just was at the other side of Winwin's cell? (But also i think it could be related to Hendery) Binary code: 1000 wich is 8 and he has the V tattoo on his neck. HENDERY: we see water. (Xiaojun's video also starts with water. Boiling water. Did he helped Hendery as well? Did XiaoJun see Hendery?) He's in the water. For a few seconds we may think that he likes being in there but it's not. He's triying to get out of the water. Then there's a frame that shows 7 glasses of water, each of them with a pair of pills (a yellow-ish one and a blue one. It can't be apreciated that well but we can infer that all the glasses has their own pair of pills) The 7 glasses says us that the 7 of them are (or was since they're escaping) there. Ten included. So Ten it's not who put them in there. Coming back to Hendery: we can see him vissibly disturbed. He's tense and obviously being watched, analyzed. As I previously thought with Winwin's and Kun's videos. Undoubtedly they're in a lab. And I'm not sure but I think the pills are not only tranquilizers, they can be also stimulants who push them to show their powers(?? I saw a comment that said the pill color could mean it's effect. Blue a tranquilizer and yellow a stimulant(? That's why Hendery was so tense. (But then why Winwin was so "calm" if he had both colors?) Also I couldn't find his V tattoo anywere. Maybe it's covered by his clothes or maybe I'm blind (both are possible HAHA) *Lastly, his power: time control/going back in time* Why do I say this? At the end of the video we can see Hendery all wet and with water drops falling from his hair... but they're not falling from his hair, they're going back to his hair. If you pay attention you would notice, that the drops are going up, not down. Also we can hear their sound in reverse. By the way, maybe they're using water to push them to use his powers. (By almost drowning him) (The whole pill thing makes me think. If the pills are a Matrix reference, in the scene that we see the 7 glasses, they're in a table. If the colors means the same as the movie... the boys accepted being in there by taking those pills and letting them study their reactions and powers? I'm not about this so don't pay too much atention to it) YANGYANG: This one is tricky, very tricky. If I have to be honest with you *I have no clue about his power.* And this made me thought that maybe the whole thing I've found was wrong. I thought about another possibility that is if they're in an assylum and they have no powers but mental illness but that doesn't match with Lucas or Winwin anymore. So I'm gonna stick with what I have until now. So, in his vid we can se the obvious, he's writing things compulsivly on the walls and floor. What is he writing? We don't know until later when a lot of "V's" start to appear at the same time. With this and the following escene we can know that he's obsesionate with something. With the V. But whats does the V mean? I'm not completly sure but may not be so crazy if we think about it. V means *"the vision"* I'm not saying that he has the vision. I'm not sure what "the vision" actually is (I'm new in all this theory world. Literally this is my first theory) but think about it. The concept of "the vision" is in what the whole subunit is based on. It's not that crazy once you think about it like that. So, if does not has "the vision" (because I think it's too riscky to assume that) he's indeed obsesionate with it. The only thing we really know is that he's everything but sane. If they're in a lab (as I prevously concluded) why is Yangyang there if he has not visible power? Maybe he was only in the wrong place at the wrong time OR they (whoever they are) played with him until he went crazy trying to make him show his power. (Show the vision? Find the vision?) Maybe he knows something that the others don't. Maybe he *sees* something that the others don't...? No V tattoo visible but I think it's not necessary. His code: 10110 wich is 22 in binary code (different from what is shown in Ten's vid where we see a 00 besides de code. I still don't know why his number doesn't match his code) We don't know how they got their powers but if we take the possibility that they are in a lab we have 2 options: 1: they got it in the lab. wich means, they are experiments 2: they indeed are experiments but they had it before being in there. Wich means they were kidnapped EDIT: they are indeed experiments and they're are in a lab and that's clearer now so we now that they did not obtained their powers in the lab because, if they did, why Lucas had his wings ripped? If you create something, would you hurt him? (specially talking about a human with wings) Either way they wanna escape and they are doing it. I don't know why but this teaser concept really suited Yangyang, even more than the other members teasers. If Yangyang was a villain in a movie I could easily see him portray a character like that...
There is definitely a difference between Yangyang and Kun in their characters. Kun is not insane. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's someone with rage and a plan, willing to do whatever necessary to rebel and escape. He's got shards of sharp broken mirror pieces to use as a weapon when need be. Yangyang on the other hand is more trapped than anyone because of his mental illness. Repetitive OCD-like writing is characteristic of someone with a very loose grip on their sanity. It's interesting though, after seeing the actual MV, because they're all supposed to take the drug to calm their bodies down. But I'm sure that's a petty discrepancy because I understand that each character is meant to be in the prison for different reasons. Making them all mellowed out is boring and dulls their unique identities. Nitpicking small details like that takes away from what they're trying to accomplish with their visuals and imagery.
I think all the members of nct are taking away all the Oscar awards I mean Johnny and Mark's comedy film Freaky Handshake was also an award winning movie and now Yang Yang 's psycho movie😱😱😱
While his jumping and laughing is kind of cute, it's also really creepy. Like imagine if you were babysitting a kid, and they started acted like this. I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty concerned/ creeped out. Nonetheless, I think they did an excellent job with all of the teaser videos!
Theory: Yangyang is psychokinetic/telekinetic. Went with the blue pill (blissful ignorance). That's why he looks like he almost doesn't care about anything and he's always laughing by himself. He's aware of the dream lab but he chooses to ignore it, proof is that he's spraying the cameras that watch his every move with the "V" which means he sees it and he knows what they're doing. Out of all the members, I think Yangyang is the most definite member who went with the blue pill. Not so sure about the other members though. Maybe the others refused it. Because they knew already. Maybe Yangyang's just tired of the bullshit he knows of what the dream lab is doing to them, so he took the blue pill to give himself a break from all that bullshit and ignore it in bliss. I think that Hendery and Winwin's trailers are somehow connected because of the pills and the glass of water shown in the teaser....
Also, they all seem to have special abilities such as Kun might have psychic powers , Winwin might be a werewolf or might have transportation as he was not sitting in the chair in the first few secs but then later he was... Lucas has blood and cut marks at his back and feathers on the ground and he looks up at the ceiling a lot which totally depicts a sad angel whose wings have been chopped off maybe....
Xiaojun might have the ability to control temperature maybe ? By Hendery 's background we can assume that he is being kept in a garden with a pool of water but if only he could have controlled water ., then why to set up a garden ? In the first scene/shot you can see him drawing something on the ground with a crayon but if you look close you can see "STOP" written on the wall and on the ground. You can also read "TORN & MY TURN" on the wall and ground. Maybe they are sick, tired, and torn from what they're going through and want it to stop? When Yangyang was laughing I paused and then I saw the words "Turn Back"I can also read the word time but if behind the word time there is the word "STOP". Maybe they want to stop time and want to do it all over to stop this? OR they need to turn back in time? There are also some other words like "DANGER" but the D looks almost not visible so it's anger?? "LIST" & "ALONE" Maybe the person or whatever it could be has a list of dangerous things they could do to the members to experiment on them? But, it could also be something different cuz in my country the word list is like a trap. So maybe this is all a trap? or they're all alone in this and have to escape alone? there was also written on the wall "TIME IS OVER NCTZEN" I think that was it?? and next to it it says "TICTOC" so maybe this all has to do with time? Also, Yangyang is casually drawing on the wall on the right from him but I kinda figured out what is said, this is what I could make it out from. " In plans great, I know maybe" Maybe Yangyang knows about the person's plan? also, on the skateboard block thing if you look close you can see there's written "The Time" with a crown above it. So is time the key? Also, in the scene where there are painted red V's, It looks like a hand is touching the V. (The V on the right and then the one that touches the ceiling) IDK I suck at theories and there are way too many theories and options.
But these are just my thoughts of what it possibly could be.

TEN: he's not in a cell like the others. He's free. He escaped from whatever that is. Maybe a prision, maybe a weird lab.
He hears voices, whispers, when he walks by the cells. The other members tell him things. At the end we can hear all the voices at once.
*Telepathy? Maybe?* Others are saying that he's the prision guard since he has the keys and it's not helping them to escape. But the cells do not open with keys, they need a password. Also the siren, in his video we can hear a siren just at the beginning so I think he actually escaped as the others wants to. His code: 1010 wich is 10 in binary code. This could be his "experiment code"? since they could be in a lab? Maybe his room number?
KUN: He's dangerous and it's in a typical room from an assylum. *His power: telekinesis.* This is shown when he walks and the glass float in the air. He escaped by his own breaking the glass and scratching the walls with those glasses/pieces of mirror. (This makes me think: it could be those mirrors that only work one side? 1 is a window and the other a mirror? Maybe someone was watching him in his crazy loneliness??) WINWIN: Pills and a lot of chains right at the beginning. He's powerfull. Maybe those pills are tranquilizers? (Plus, they have 2 colors. Matrix reference??) we can hear steps, someone entered the room. He's on a kind of throne. Maybe they're making fun of him like: "so powerfull, so strong but without freedom"? Also, we can see a red light. Maybe the sign that someone is watching him? Analyzing him?
*His power: strenght.* We cannot see if he has a tattoo BUT his eyebrow is cut in a certain way that assimilates a V (it can be just me but I saw a V) At the end he screams, he wants freedom. We can assume that he broke the chains since he pulled them. Binary code: 111 wich is 7
LUCAS: feathers. They took his wings. He could fly but they took that from him. He also has the V tattoo right in the center of his back. His cell doesn't has ceiling. This reinforces what i said with winwin's throne. They (whoever they are) are torturing them. Playing with them and their powers? their mental health? (even if i'm not sure if they have any) They're not in a regular prision. At this point it really looks like a lab.
*His power: fly.* He also wants his freedom but he cannot reach it. I'm not sure if we can assume he escaped. If he did, how? I've seen a comment that said he was collecting his feathers to use them to escape. Maybe that was what he did. Binary code: 10100 wich is 20
XIAOJUN: right at the beginning we see him in a kind of boiler room(? and at the end of the hallway we see a red light (the same red light as in Winwin's video?) also, when he stands up, the hallway seems to stretches and then he's across the hall. This makes me think.
*His power is super speed* Why do I think this? well, at first I thought it could be teletransportation because of the hallway thing. BUT at the end of the video we see him standing up again and the steam seems to slow down a little. At the same time we can hear his heart beat. The red light makes me think: did he helped Winwin to escape? Were his footsteps what we heard? Or maybe he just was at the other side of Winwin's cell? (But also i think it could be related to Hendery) Binary code: 1000 wich is 8 and he has the V tattoo on his neck.
HENDERY: we see water. (Xiaojun's video also starts with water. Boiling water. Did he helped Hendery as well? Did XiaoJun see Hendery?) He's in the water. For a few seconds we may think that he likes being in there but it's not. He's triying to get out of the water. Then there's a frame that shows 7 glasses of water, each of them with a pair of pills (a yellow-ish one and a blue one. It can't be apreciated that well but we can infer that all the glasses has their own pair of pills) The 7 glasses says us that the 7 of them are (or was since they're escaping) there. Ten included. So Ten it's not who put them in there. Coming back to Hendery: we can see him vissibly disturbed. He's tense and obviously being watched, analyzed. As I previously thought with Winwin's and Kun's videos. Undoubtedly they're in a lab. And I'm not sure but I think the pills are not only tranquilizers, they can be also stimulants who push them to show their powers(?? I saw a comment that said the pill color could mean it's effect. Blue a tranquilizer and yellow a stimulant(? That's why Hendery was so tense. (But then why Winwin was so "calm" if he had both colors?)
Also I couldn't find his V tattoo anywere. Maybe it's covered by his clothes or maybe I'm blind (both are possible HAHA)
*Lastly, his power: time control/going back in time* Why do I say this? At the end of the video we can see Hendery all wet and with water drops falling from his hair... but they're not falling from his hair, they're going back to his hair. If you pay attention you would notice, that the drops are going up, not down. Also we can hear their sound in reverse. By the way, maybe they're using water to push them to use his powers. (By almost drowning him)
(The whole pill thing makes me think. If the pills are a Matrix reference, in the scene that we see the 7 glasses, they're in a table. If the colors means the same as the movie... the boys accepted being in there by taking those pills and letting them study their reactions and powers? I'm not about this so don't pay too much atention to it)
YANGYANG: This one is tricky, very tricky. If I have to be honest with you *I have no clue about his power.* And this made me thought that maybe the whole thing I've found was wrong. I thought about another possibility that is if they're in an assylum and they have no powers but mental illness but that doesn't match with Lucas or Winwin anymore. So I'm gonna stick with what I have until now. So, in his vid we can se the obvious, he's writing things compulsivly on the walls and floor. What is he writing? We don't know until later when a lot of "V's" start to appear at the same time. With this and the following escene we can know that he's obsesionate with something. With the V. But whats does the V mean? I'm not completly sure but may not be so crazy if we think about it. V means *"the vision"* I'm not saying that he has the vision. I'm not sure what "the vision" actually is (I'm new in all this theory world. Literally this is my first theory) but think about it. The concept of "the vision" is in what the whole subunit is based on. It's not that crazy once you think about it like that. So, if does not has "the vision" (because I think it's too riscky to assume that) he's indeed obsesionate with it.
The only thing we really know is that he's everything but sane. If they're in a lab (as I prevously concluded) why is Yangyang there if he has not visible power? Maybe he was only in the wrong place at the wrong time OR they (whoever they are) played with him until he went crazy trying to make him show his power. (Show the vision? Find the vision?) Maybe he knows something that the others don't. Maybe he *sees* something that the others don't...?
No V tattoo visible but I think it's not necessary. His code: 10110 wich is 22 in binary code (different from what is shown in Ten's vid where we see a 00 besides de code. I still don't know why his number doesn't match his code)
We don't know how they got their powers but if we take the possibility that they are in a lab we have 2 options:
1: they got it in the lab. wich means, they are experiments
2: they indeed are experiments but they had it before being in there. Wich means they were kidnapped
EDIT: they are indeed experiments and they're are in a lab and that's clearer now so we now that they did not obtained their powers in the lab because, if they did, why Lucas had his wings ripped? If you create something, would you hurt him? (specially talking about a human with wings)

In the end, when he looks at the camera you can clearly see that he has a "V" tattoo on his left cheek. He paints the V afterwards as time goes back.
There is definitely a difference between Yangyang and Kun in their characters. Kun is not insane. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's someone with rage and a plan, willing to do whatever necessary to rebel and escape. He's got shards of sharp broken mirror pieces to use as a weapon when need be.
Yangyang on the other hand is more trapped than anyone because of his mental illness. Repetitive OCD-like writing is characteristic of someone with a very loose grip on their sanity. It's interesting though, after seeing the actual MV, because they're all supposed to take the drug to calm their bodies down. But I'm sure that's a petty discrepancy because I understand that each character is meant to be in the prison for different reasons. Making them all mellowed out is boring and dulls their unique identities. Nitpicking small details like that takes away from what they're trying to accomplish with their visuals and imagery.
