Very difficult, still way below the level of men, even a semi-pro Male Goalkeeper would save half the goals that the Female Goalkeepers are conceding.

This match was incredible with harsh attacks, but Sarah Bouhaddi was strong enough and the save from Griedge Mbock with her foot was legendary. Henry made a splendid goal on the end, the french team has to continue to play like they did in the second part and the final of the match.
I think the fatigue of the Brazilians played a key role in winning this match. In the first half they were playing attractive football with a solid buildup to evade France's press, but the further they went into the second half, more ball were played long, which leads to a turnover normally with the strong French centerbacks. It lead to Brazil leaving behind more gaps in midfield, after attacks the midfielders did not track back that often anymore, which allowed the wingers a lot of space to walk into on the counter.

This was a great game to watch! Both teams fought to the death and played inspiring football all the way! Matches like these are why I love watching the Women’s World Cup! It only comes on once every 4 years, but it’s so worth watching at the end of the day!
I watched it live, awesome game. Looking at the thumbnail I now get why people don't want the scores shown prior to them clicking, others don't show it, except FIFA.

VAR when used properly is not the issue. The time it takes to confirm is on the other hand. It breaks the pace of the game which is very bad for both the public and the players.

The first really good match of this tournament (maybe second, USA vs Sweden was fine too), no major bloopers, no goals for defensive or keeper capital mistakes. True skills and a challenge for the other team for score.

What a game by Diani, she dribbled Brazilians for fun! Good game by Brazil though, an entertaining match in general
But overall, Brazilians played with more flairs and creativity. French was out of idea on trying to score on Brazil. Brazil actually looked more dangerous before they conceded that second goal from the set piece.
A very good game, but the french fans were pretty childish.. Booing at Brazil's keeper the entire match? It was not her fault the goal got dismissed, blame VAR.
Even the french commentors were like « chill public, it’s not her fault »

VAR actually got the disallowed goal RIGHT, as even the French commentators noticed. Gauvin hit the ball with her fist. The U.S. commentators totally missed this. :(

An EXCELLENT match. Because of the missed call on the disallowed goal for France, I was sympathetic toward them. The whole time I was thinking, "There is no way France is winning a penalty shootout with Brazil." Fortunately for them they didn't have to. Brazil seemed to run out of gas in OT; and after Christiane went down, their chances for an equalizer basically died. Marta's post game quote was the stuff of legends.

Not only about it. According to you, FIFA shouldn't exhibit a bunch of plays because they were simply "ridiculous". Watching here I could easily conclude that French was way better than Brazil, when in fact both teams played really close to each other in points like technique.

I am French and I am disappointed with the level of the French team because for 2 years she was the team that had the best style with the Netherlands and England. The French are 40% of their abilities and if they want to win the 1/4 final they will have to raise their level otherwise it will be a big disappointment.

My thoughts exactly : the French team has IMHO the best tactics, just enough technique, but what they lack in physicality can ruin their game...Look at Marion Torrent who was totally overwhelmed physically although she's got class.
And there are players who lack technique to a frightening degree...Wendie Renard for one.

@@EmptyHand49 Because she faked a foul and stayed down for so long that the ref had no choice but to look at it in VAR and ultimately decided to disallow a goal because of a collision.
