I must have watched this video a hundred times and it still hits me in the feels. I honestly believe that Concorde is the most beautiful machine mankind has ever made and the closest human embodiment of nature we have managed to produce. I love her and miss her, she needs to return to the air.
Definitely. She’s so gorgeous and I unfortunately never got to fly with her … that is, in real life at least. In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 I only fly one aircraft and that aircraft is Concorde, Queen of the Skies. Of all aircrafts in the game she’s definitely not beginner friendly but somehow she’s actually easier for me to fly than the other aircrafts in game. 👍🏽😎 Strange … maybe because I love a good challenge and complex stuff. Or I definitely get 🥱. Fortunately for me Concorde is my favourite aircraft of all time and a ton of fun to fly! The power, sound and speed of her. Not mention the stunningly beautiful design and afterburners makes it SO rewarding. Especially when you can outfly every other passenger jet in multiplayer. 😂
To me the Concorde represents engineering perfection. Concorde is simply stunning, the most beautiful thing ever created. We may have SST again soon but nothing shall replace the place in my heart that belongs to Concorde. It makes me proud to come from the same country as those who designed, built and flew this wonderful machine. I often go to Manchester airport and sit looking at her for hours and hours admiring her beauty. Dam those responsible for its retirement.
Wonderful video, I can remember Concord used to fly past my house everyday, that was so amazing it was. :-) A beautiful plane truly amazing, I just hope we'll get more supersonic commercial flight in the future. I'm sure we will. :-)
100% agree!!! Spitfire and Concorde are the two most beautiful aircraf ever built. As they say in that commercial: "Concorde reminded us that we could do extraordinary things" So true and so sad in today's age of self-loading cargo aka Ryanair...
It's something with those things from the past: it's passion. When I drive an old car from the 60's or 70's, it's so beautiful crafted, although it's simple, it brings a smile everyday.
the skies will never be the same again without her, flying on her made me feel like an astronaut wearing a t-shirt, and that'll probably be the closest i have been to space, when you takeoff you get that adrenaline pumping and wow you can't believe it, you are actually trying to image the ground but you get dizzy and once at 60k feet the plane just hangs there motinless and it is a majestic sight, i want to fly on her again if she comes back
Concorde, though designed in the 50s and 60s, was still very technologically advanced when it exited services in 2003. That was a remarkable achievement. It was a shame that it had to be taken out of services. It must have been a pleasure just to look at it flying in person.
...so sad it retired. I saw it for the first time in 1974 at Miami International Airport and finally flew it on Sunday, April 13, 2003 from NYC/CDG. It was an incredible journey - never to be repeated again - at least not in our lifetime.
Thank you England
I remember as an 8 or 9 year old being obsessed with this plane that my parents drove from West Yorkshire to LHR so I could see it take off. And then when it came to Birmingham in 2003, I had to be there to see it - amazing.
The most beautiful aircraft ever constructed, it's very special that only British Airways and Air France, two great airlines, were the exclusive users of Concorde. Even though it has been grounded since 2003 it's still a great source of pride for Britain and France. Hopefully there will be a last minute push to get Concorde flying again for a London 2012 Olympic ceremonial flypast, one of the few ways for us to top the extravagence of Beijing!!!
i cant stop watching this vid, i was there in london when it flew with the red arrows, amazing site. in 1998 i flew to jfk on concorde and the expierience will live with me forever. i am so lucky to have done that. new york in 3 hours 24 mins ???? it takes longer to get to london from my house !
What a beautiful big bird...was so exciting to see the Concorde land in Oklahoma City in the 70s. I was a teenager, and my brother and me went to the airport to see it. People were lining the streets trying to photograph it. This was back when you didn't have to go through security and could actually access the gate and look out the window at it. I miss those days, and I miss the Concorde. Gorgeous design. Not practical, but gorgeous design nonetheless.
Concorde was so beautiful. She was the first aircraft to have Electronic throttle controls, along with Fly-by-wire technology even tho it used conventional dials in the flight deck. She has also clocked more supersonic hours than ALL of the world's airforces
Concorde, the Splendid... Seeing, or remembering her puts tears into my eyes. How damn could humans step back, give up, when such perfection was achieved? Thank you, CerealKiIIer.
That part when they are rolling on rhe runway. "60knots, 100, V1, rotate.." its just amazing :) Beautiful bird... I hoped that I could fly in it one day but... well...
Absolutely fantasting video, yet very sad one. Concorde ended up in museums just waay too fast. Concorde will forever epitomize the "golden era" of civil aviation.
Going to see Concorde G-BOAF in Filton, Bristol. First time that I've ever seen this plane for real. I fly it across the atlantic on FSx and watch 100's of youtube videos on it and google images but I think seeing it for real will make me cry!
I love this video, i must have watched it 100's of times (really). Although i love watching the vid it makes me really angry at the same time for what BA did (not selling them to Virgin) best aircraft ever, thanks for uploading vid :D
Nice to see Mr Dragonforce impressing us with his command of perjorative language. Seriously though, what a wonderful aircraft, and what a sad loss to aviation.
i saw one on display at the udvar hazy center (national air and space museum) and it was beautiful. pretty much put everything else near it to shame. :)
I wish I could have a ride on the Concorde. I hear stories of when my parents flew for Pan Am. They would be in a 747, and when the Concorde took off, it would make the 747 shake. Dang, Concorde is gone. But, I have heard rumors that they might bring her back.
Concorde was a beautiful aircraft, and I think they can get something like that flying again with a few improvements in the design. That way it probably won't have to be cut down again so soon. I don't know for sure.
Such exacting precision and elegance is quite beyond human capabilities. Obviously, this angle was built by a supremely intelligent, highly advanced alien civilisation not of this world.
Wow. Beautiful and so sad. I believe there will be Concordes in heaven. Here's a quote: "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss
This is true to an extent. Singapore Airlines shared a concorde with British Airways on the service between London Heathrow and Singapore via Bahrain in the late 1970s. Only one side was painted in Singapore Airlines' colours and only operated three times. Sorry to burst the bubble.
kids growing up today will not be able the see concorde fly and that is a tragic thought. there farthers say "back in my day we used to be able to cross the atlantic in under 3 hours. and kids will not experience it. instead they will have to go and see a dead one in a museum.
there are so many Concorde's just sitting there ready for supersonic flight and the public wanting to ride her! Anyone who works for BA must have a deep spot saying who cares about the economics let it fly! The public would buy tickets by there 1000's if it came back, the queen and world leaders hundreds of businessmen and stars would go and her and it would truly make the world a smaller and happier place. Whoever the person was who said lets retire Concorde please take those words back PLEASE
Now that, my friend, is an absoloute awesome idea. People think that we wont be able to better the Beijing Opening Ceremony, if we used Concorde, we would simple blow their efforts away ! There is 2 Concordes in this coutry now that are still maintained on a regular basis as if they still fly, the fuel cells have been removed so they cannot start engines, surely we will see her fly again, maybe only once...lokk at the Vulcan for example, they said that would never fly again !
Well, whatever the technicalities and fine details are the main point is that AF & BA were the primary owners and users of Concorde and Singapore Airline's involvement was merely a leasing/co-operation agreement.
I was astonished by (what it seemed to be) rush to turn all Concordes into museum artefacts. I am not a UK taxpayer but since the BA got them for free and the cost to develop Concorde was like 20 billion GBP in today's money, Virgin certainly should have been given at least a chance to run them or keep 1 or 2 flying for special occasions - even at the cost of cannibalizing the rest of the fleet. Branson would be exactly the type of enterpreneur for such thing.
In the news it was said that the French have kept 1 of their Concordes. They are keeping it in good condition and working out some plans to improve it and make it fly again. But theirs a problem. They cannot find an airline, government or rich person which will fund the millions needed for improvements for Concorde and make it fly again. So at the moment it looks like Concorde won't fly again.
Old technologies have made it inefficient and airlines have expressively told aircraft makers they prefer low costs over speed. Plus, opposition in the U.S. over SST (super-sonic transport) due to noise issues have put a huge damper on future production. If we were to go faster than current aircraft, it would have to be quieter and efficient for it to pass in general.
And to this day, the Americans who spend Billions on military jets,DO NOT have an STS!,how proud am i that British Airways and Air France operated Concorde - Very Proud.
It is believed that if Paris was to have the 2012 Olympic Games. An Air France Concorde along with the La Patrouille de France would have opened and closed the Olympic Cermoney with a flypast. It is also believed That Airbus and Air France technictians are keeping F-WTSB in flyable condition, in the event that Air France considers a one off event such as the Olympics.
I’m french, i love Concorde, its the most beautiful peace of anything man has ever made and i hate whoever took the decision first to proceed and decommission Concorde, i hate you bloody peace of shit ! I miss that bird so much !
Yes I heard about that. There was some petition posted on the 10 Downing Street website vehemently opposed to such a confused PC doctrine. Around 35,000 people signed it (including me!) and the official response was that the Government weren't opposed to the idea. In fact the potential of such a proposal was celebrated. Hopefully not just media fodder & their pledge of support is genuine!
Indeed. A shame that these sorts of topics devolve into shouting matches over geography and politics... The Concorde was a fine aircraft, albeit one borrowing on supersonics pioneered in America. We ourselves didn't follow through on a supersonic passenger jet not because we couldn't, but because we foresaw the market headed in a different direction, a reality that has proven itself undoubtedly many times over. Cheers still to the Concorde; I love the aircaft and wish it was still here...:o)
its gr8 to think that british and french designers bulit the concorde, if u look it up is also anther reason it was only flow by british airways & air france
@mrmulligan1268 I'm 15 years old and the only Concorde I've seen is Prototype 001 at Duxford Air Museum. I think if I saw one again i would tear up becuase its just not fair for her, or her passengers
No only British Airways and Air France flew concorde, although, singapore airways did have a contract with BA to fly concorde to singapore but it only lasted about 5 years

TheSomeonedotcom1 I totally understand; it is my go to video in my fav's when on RUclips.. Salt water well in my eyes...
It hits me in the feels as well, too...especially from 5:08 to the end! :'(

2019 Concorde has not been beaten.
She still is ffantastic even grounded forever ❤️❤️
this is the greatest tribute to anything, especially this magnificent aircraft. Wathing this makes you realise whta we've lost.
Fab vid.....thanks a million. Still give me tears when ever I watched it. Remind me of its glory days.

Wonderful
Aviation is just not the same without Concorde! She could do what no other civil aircraft could do!
I live under the Heathow flight path and Concorde flew over my house on its final flight, I still remember that day ;(
so jealous and envious of those who were lucky to be able to fly it
Fantastic!!
Great idea this, I would love to see the Concorde revived for this special occasion!
I love this video, i must have watched it 100's of times (really). Although i love watching the vid it makes me really angry at the same time for what BA did (not selling them to Virgin) best aircraft ever, thanks for uploading vid :D

Makes me proud to be British
Here's to the best nation in the world
Cheers
Beautiful Aircraft, Now long gone, History!
Lets hope we can get her flying for the 2012 London Olympics Opening/Closing Cermoney.
Thanks for posting this, I cried. God - what have we done retiring her ?. The French have a Concorde ready to fly at Charles de Gaulle.
I saw an air france concorde at the air museum in America...near Dulles I believe.
GREAT !!! I love this!!
a plane that was never going to forget will be the concorde "The Jetsons" that hurts
Such exacting precision and elegance is quite beyond human capabilities. Obviously, this angle was built by a supremely intelligent, highly advanced alien civilisation not of this world.

dude, a suprise concorde flight at the 2012 olympics would be the BEST!!

It would be truly awesome!! At least we can guarantee the red arrows anyway. A flypast of concorde with the red arrows just couldn't be beaten.
hey love this vidoe it was a awesome bird do u know where i can download this or how i can get it ??

We want it back. Hence you cant make a greater plane you have to make a similar plane fly again.
I was astonished by (what it seemed to be) rush to turn all Concordes into museum artefacts.

i would love branson to have be able to run one, id do it if possible, just for fun, round the world routes
Rock on Concorde!
Parfois la passion l'emporte sur la raison et les Hommes lui donne un nom : Concorde.
Singapore Airlines also used Concorde
In the news it was said that the French have kept 1 of their Concordes. They are keeping it in good condition and working out some plans to improve it and make it fly again. But theirs a problem. yesterday was 8th anniversary of the crash of the concorde :(
I’m french, i love Concorde, its the most beautiful peace of anything man has ever made and i hate whoever took the decision first to proceed and decommission Concorde, i hate you bloody peace of shit ! I miss that bird so much !
I guess this shows that BA might still love her after all!

very moving ...
And I am proud to be Braziliam, afterall the airplane inventor was Mr.Santos Dummond.

I think just British airways and Air France had ordered the Concorde. WEre there other airlines???
Is branson going to get Concorde back in the air
gd point, but i was only comparing cocorde and the bell x-1
I don't think it's coming back. The only other SST I know of is the Aerion (google it, can't paste a link here) which is due out in a few years. However, it is a business jet, so only super wealthy people will be able to afford a flight on it.
nobody knows why we cheered and applauded when the clock read: 1.00 mach one. the speed of sound
Other airlines did order, but all cept BA and Air France canceled their orders
True, but watching 777 or A320 take off doesn't send shivers down your spine Concorde does.
It's like putting VW Golf or Chevrolet Suburban in the same class with FERRARI...
