A 1080p display has no business being that big. Pixel density is crazy low.
have you not seen the massive 80" 1080p TVs? It's hot that big a deal because a TV that big is meant to be viewed from 10 or so feet away.
Connor Kamp What's the point of a big TV if the pixel density is so low that you need to get far back? 4K TV's need to be big because people have 50'' inch TV's and look them from 10 feet.
Connor Kamp I could see the not only the pixels, I could also see the red blue and green squares within the pixel. Those pixels are 2mm big!!!
ShinySwordStorm You aren't sitting 2 feet away from a 50"+ tv....
Minus well just get a 4k
I don't have a monitor I use my printer to show the frames
maliqueg That's some high end printer you got there.
maliqueg You must use a lot of wood.
What kind of coal do you burn to power it
maliqueg Boy, bet the framerate and input lag on that thing are amazing!
maliqueg oh wow! I tried that once but I couldn't get my butler to hold the damn pictures straight!
I use Potato-Pro 3hz, 1/2 frames per second.
You can play it with mustard and mayo
LUCKY!!!
Miner Steve Not really had to RMA it, they sent me a refurbished potato, so i told the company to go to hell and get ejaculated by rats.
+Matt Mustang Cool! I use the Pork-chop GZ64362 Pro. 1hz, 0.1101 frames per second, 5 minute input lag and the best part is it supports Worcestershire 3.0 input, but only mayo 2.3 :(
I hear that works really well if used with napkins.
+Matt Mustang LUCKY I bet that costs a fortune
I'm using my TV because I decided to spend the money on a good pc and now I'm broke 🌚💔
same :|
Whats your experience with that? I'm thinking of doing the same, primarily for FPS games so I'd like to know if input lag is actually an issue or not.
Doing exactly the same. Dropping $600.
Koudelka what pc did you buy?!?
Koudelka same
I agree with Linus 30fps looks like shit.
Moethedirt For gaming, it definitely does.
Josh Conant fucking nerd
Madden Jack LOL
Madden Jack fucking peasant
Josh Conant Even for video, TBH. Have you ever seen a RUclips video or gif and thought "Damn, that is smooth"?
You can usually tell very well when a video is 60 fps. The reason some movies that are above 30FPS (Like The Hobbit) looked "weird" was because the CGI wasn't up to par with the FPS. The hgiher the FPS, the more clear the image, and thus the more work has to be put into the CGI to have it look good, otherwise it looks fake.
I use a turnip
TheEvilVargon Turnip master race
TheEvilVargon What is a turnip??
TheEvilVargon turnid up
TheEvilVargon the wan show is leaking

Currently using a Asus 24" 1080p monitor at 144hz. After using 144hz regularly I hate going back to 60hz monitors cause the mouse movement is so jagged.
***** Acer 144hz here
***** Benq 144hz here
fahad bin shuwaysh Overlord 113Hz here
***** As someone who painstakingly tweaks his games to run at 4K DSR (or as close as possible) at 60fps, I don't want to experience anything at a higher framerate in fair of no longer being able to enjoy my current benchmark. Not until 4k@120+fps is affordable at least.
***** But 4k in itself is something amazing as well as hugely demanding. I was just talking more along the lines of 1080p/1440p :P
But as soon as 4k at 100+ framerate is available at a affordable price then that will be amazing
Competitive? Monitor
No? TV
simple as that
use a PLASMA tv. they are all 600hz
and they have also been dead since 2014.
have you seen the input lag of a plasma XD i have a 50" one and... games aren't playable at all on that thing
Rather
Competitive? Monitor.
No? Monitor.
Console? TV.
+ben gartell
Well that MAY have something to do with the fact that Plasma TVs are ancient, obsolete pieces of crap who's technology was behind the competition long before they ever reached maturity.... in 2004.
Linus never fails to crack me up.
Was this a voice crack pun?
I-IATE shhhh you'll hurt his feelings haha
I use a tv as big as a monitor

At least do deathmatch or something. Aztec is so pleb-tier it's unbelievable.

It's got it all.
No hate on it tho. Linus isn't the one that plays CSGO. Jack and Taran (LTT) do play tho, IIRC.
inteli722 >using meme arrows on You Tube

Because everybody knows that all those details in some random game do actually matter for this video. Damn, those wannabe CS:GO pros are annoying...

I play from my couch on my 40" TV. Beats sitting behind a desk imo.
+MGsubbie what's the difference?
+MGsubbie what's the difference?
Far more comfortable.
MGsubbie oh so you have a real cheap uncomfortable chair at your desk? understandable.
I do, but even if I had a good one I'd prefer sitting in my couch. Lying down with my feet resting on my living room table.
You're all living in the stone age. I use a projector as my screen.
Not as clear... sorry and can't use it in a lit up room
@@topgopnik Too much sunlight in the room is actually really annoying if it hit the screen on regular monitors as well, or just the wall behind, so you see the reflections on the screen... And there are many projectors out there. I have seen videos of people saying their projector works ok even with a moderate amount of daylight coming in through the windows...
I don't think a projector is good enough
The bait sat dormant for 3 whole years.
I changed to telepathy. Very good graphics for very cheap pricing.
A human eye can't see more than 27" anyway.
+predvcecerom LOL
true also if i hold my seven inch tablet four inches away from my eyes it looks like a 100 inch screen.
+predvcecerom HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Can't really tell from just one sentence. Were you that drunk you can't remember yourself, again ?

Monitors for Gaming are sooo 2015!
I prefer those 3D Headsets like the Oculus or the HTC Vive.*
*This Message was sent from the future.
Ox King pff noob, still using oculus, i use Oculus 6s
Waiting for Q1 2016 Oculus Rift release... FUCK MONITORS!
Exaris A. the thing is not all games will support it, or only partly support it. I definitely want to get a VR headset for racing games though, it's like these headsets were made for it :D
Ruben Fernandes Can't believe you peasants haven't got neural implants yet.
***** i guess my future is not futuristic enough :(
I have a triple turnip setup. VOTE FOR TURNIP!

55" 4K tv. Yea it's not as good as a bitchin, monitor. That much resolution, however, allows you to admire beautifully rendered scenery while your dead lol
Mason Doerr pure console peasant logic
Mason Doerr hahaha pinpoint
what a stupid comment
A Spawn What i've got a 100 inch tv, it's better than all your screens :)
Ive got a 200 inch projector screen and True dolby atmos sound, so ive got it better than you Octavian haha. I may not be as good at the games though haha.
I use a 43 inch 1080p 60hz LG. I game casually. Smite, Story based games, Witcher, Outlast. The response time doesn't mean that much to me and I don't even notice it. If I was a pro gamer playing a high fps game I think it would make a difference. but the emersiveness of a large screen wall mounted on and articulating arm above my desk is so much more engrossing then a small expensive monitor. A large television monitor for 300 bucks beats out a 21 inch $400+ gaming monitor any day of the week for the casual gamer.
+Nam Le what is your gpu? is it harder to drive a 43 inch display vs a smaller one?
I run a 750 TI and I've done comparisons there is no different draws on the GPU from switching monitors.
that's on high presets? what fps do you get?
on SMITE I get 120-140 fps, Same story with story based games I get ridiculously high fps output, Witcher 3 I get 30-45 fps 1080p set high and medium mixed, though my monitor only supports 60 so I really I'm only getting 60 tops. Really if you want a constant 60 fps on triple A titles I'd go with 960 but your gonna spend like around 200 for the graphics card. The 970 is my breaking point it doesn't make sense to spend that much loot on a graphics card when it's just gonna be out dated with pascal up around the corner.
how about CPU? because I can get an used i5 for a few more of a new i3..but then I have less for the GPU, GTX 950 seems to be the safe choice in price standpoint..
It so mesmerising to watch witcher 3 running so smoothly I can't run this game even on 30 FPS
lol witcher 3 is playable at 30 fps I got a gtx 950 an get 40 fps in 1440p max-med settings, in 1080p, I get around 56-60,fps
+Josh Guglielmo i wouldn't consider below 60 fps to be playable.
Adam Drake I am a budget gamer not a beastly gamer like you.
this kid adam is an idiot dont listen to him, 60 fps is plenty for any game, although first persons tend to be more action orientated so its best to have around 90-100 fps
+Josh Guglielmo i said 60 fps was unplayable for myself, not everyone.
someone needs to make a gaming tv
it's been created already, as a monitor
It's called a monitor haha
so..how bout all those 50" monitors goin around.
ya i dont see any 65'' monitors...
I've got a 4k 50" 6ms 60hz tv, seems they're on the rise.
My k/d went up the moment i switched to a gaming monitor. I'm now a believer
My question is do you have to have a separate laptop to get games on a monitor?
@@aarya4943 wdym
@@urbrownies5084 I wrote that a while ago I have my question answered :>
@@aarya4943 was the answer yes or no
@@desean-2851 the answer was no, you need a pc not a whole other computer
I upgraded from a 27" monitor to a 32" TV and don't notice the difference in input lag. My monitor was only 60Hz anyway.
***** What's the resolution of the TV?
Vijay Bhaskar The same as the monitor was. 1920 X 1080.
+Shane J. McEntee This is nice, but what do you use it for. Sure it will be way better for watching football games, youtube videos and other stuff. But if you want to play a game of cs:go once in a while probably there will be some issues.
Or you had played something more intense and it is ok ?
Well it depends on response time. Most of the good gaming monitors have 2ms response time but something like Dell or LG uses 4/5ms which is all right for single player but will slow you down in multiplayer. According to me most TVs have anywhere between 4-6ms response time which is pretty ok if you play single player and is even okish for multiplayer racing games but for something like cs:go, planetsiders or ghost reccon it won't work out for getting good scores/kills.
+Shane J. McEntee used a philips 48" thingy, costed around 850€ so no low budget, turning off all the "extra" functions reduces the input lag by a lot!
specially the dynamic contrast reduced some actually (think the cpu worked unnecessary).
I use a 1920x1080 monitor ocd to 87hz
ZeldaNumber17 Nice, i use a 1920x1080 tv oc'd to 75hz
ZeldaNumber17 Was only able to oc to 76 hz ;.;
How do you OC monitors or TVs?
Flávio Soares you tell them to go faster, yes really. Just like you oc anything
I used nvidia control panel.
ZeldaNumber17 1440p overclocked to 100 hz. I fucking love korean monitors
can you do a voice crack compilation? xD
Rather a big TV at 60fps than a tiny monitor. never had any issues with response time.
Shane J. McEntee hell yea
Prolly cuz you dont play fps games
Elder Joe Why not ? Hdmi cable is all you need ...
And when you play using the monitor from the TV you still need to plug the joystick on the lap top yes?
I'm not sure exactly how it works to play games on the laptop using the TV.. .
@@proxy-DreR I get up to 120fps on First person shooters! Take any fair comparison and it won't matter, however the comparison in this video is not fair at all because that TV is complete crap...
i use my 60 inch samsung tv because i use my pc for watching movies, tv, playing games, playing music and surfing the web and its already in my leaving room so why not
+R.O.T.C SEEM What's a "leaving room?"
angelfuree meant living
+angelfuree when I read the comment I lol. A leaving room is the one he does not leave. He has everything there needs. Not making fun just how I took it when I read comment.
+Angel Perez Grammar Police incoming!
+R.O.T.C SEEM hahaha. leaving room. Jk but funny.
I've been gaming on a TV for years now. It's simply more comfortable and that's all I care about. I don't think I could sit at a desk in front of a tiny monitor anymore.
99MHz of Gaming Did you try using at least a 27 inch or plus monitor, Because if you were only using 15 inch monitor and siting on a wooden chair it's not that great.
99MHz of Gaming Older CRTs were terrible for headaches from radiation and the new LEDs are bad for eye fatigue. As the news keeps saying, kids looking at mobile devices all day long are ruining their eyesight. I got terrible headaches from CRT monitors sitting so close to them.
TekReview's No that's not true, there is no difference at looking at light being projected off a screen compared to sunlight off an object.
Looking close at any object for lengthy amounts of time works the lens muscles more which will make you nearsightedness at older age.
whatsmyusername10 My eye doctor asked me if I look at LED monitor all day long. GO look up the medical facts.
Oh god, you are right, i just cant turn back into a monitor now that i am gaming on a 51" 4K TV and a secondary 40" 1080p TV for games that i can't run on 4K
im still using box monitor
lol
whaaaaaa...?
jan christian Frodahl its true, i keep it as part of momento of my friend who passed away 10 years ago
Guala Nejo
Thats a beautiful thing man, :)
Sorry about your friend :/
jan christian Frodahl thank you
I use a 6.5 inch toaster which has about a 2 minute response time and I think it really benefits me and will probably be really good for you too
Another reason why consoles aren't for FPS games.
Ummm... You can plug a console to a monitor...
Hazi To a 144hz Gsync monitor? Link pls?
haloShAdOwSnIpE *slow clap*....
***** And no Gsync/freesync support... XD
***** > Can't achieve 60FPS
> Calls it snappy
k bro.
ill take the 60fps cap and the 4x bigger screen thank you.
A well calibrated and good quality TV can be far better than a monitor for 60 hz gaming in terms of detail and especially using other resolutions outside of the native resolution which on a monitor is blur city in my experience but fine on a TV. Not to mention movies look a lot better too on TVs.
On the other side of the coin I'd definitely say the general usage/web browsing experience is leaps and bounds better on a proper monitor, far far superior crispness. Oddly enough in my experience this didn't translate to the games for me. But the colours tend to be better.
I've no idea about 120hz and above, however it stands to reason that 120 actual frames would be better than any fake tomfoolery.
The thing that bugs me though is that any phone and tablet these days has a 300 pixel per inch minimum and they look fantastic - yet monitors because they're much larger screens don't have pixel per inch ratios nearly as big so the bigger your monitor or screen is the worse it tends to look. The opposite is true as well the smaller the screen the better it'll appear as you crank the resolution up.
I can't agree more with on these one. I wish there are low power 32 incher tv which are also a very good monitor for 60fps 1080p pc gaming - I am mostly do single player immersive gameplay and onine PVE games
Try dynes relic idioms or an old 2009 Samsung 240hz refresh TV. Flawless and they have PC input
Sorry meant to say dynex tvs
Yeah, if you're a casual then a tv is the way to go.
It's not about casual or not, a big display is very immersive. It's like you are right there in the game.
just cause, gta and witcher i play on my 55" samsung tv :) it's great!
I am too my tv is trash
Tvs in 2020 lmao
You have to realise at the end of the day...are you actually in MLG because if not then spending this amount of money on a imaginary focus is pretty damn stupid.
Welcome to humans priorities!
CHANNEL HAS MOVED TO MisterMercy ohhh boy ... you saying human eye can't catch less than 20ms but i say its not true ... just test them in real life you will see what im saying
it takes the average person between 100-150 ms to blink. 20ms is literally imperceptible to the human eye.
Ramin Als it's impossible, if not, a very rare case. can you react for less than 20ms everytime you play?
my friend games on a projector at a movie theater (he works there)
50 inch 1080p TV? That's just BAD. It gets like 40 PPI, which is frankly useless.
Just get a 40 inch UHD TV from LG and test that!
The TV is intended to be watched from a medium distance, the DPI isn't as necessary as with a short range display ( monitor, tablet, smartphone)
Hazi I know, but 1080p is still terrible at 50 inches. I can watch it from a mile away and see the pixels, that's how huge they are.
ast5515 well wasting money on a UHD TV seems more useless to me. it'll be a while before UHD content will be the norm.
Yeah, Pixel per Inch is bad. But TVs are bigger the monitors then smartphone displays. But they all take up the same FOV. So you should measure Pixel per part of FOV.
ast5515 LG displays are horrible! I work in the TV market and have tested my high end rig on all of the TV's from Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung over the past 3 years and I must say, Sony and Panasonic do it best! LG's suffer from extreme motion issues, especially with the processing on for smoother frames, also LG and Samsung use very bright displays which look unrealistic and 'too sharp' compared to the natural colour and imaging of Sony and Panasonic's. The lower input lag/response times are best on Sony, Panasonic, LG then Samsungs.
Displayport on a TV? I have never seen or heard of that.
Either my VGA connected over 10 year old 1440:900 (16:10 master race) monitor or my 1080i TV that even doesn't scale well at all.
I take what I can
***** It's 8:5, IDK what idiot failed grade school and got to standardize this crap T.T
Always reduce your fractions and ratios until you can no longer produce a common denominator.
Derrick Jolicoeur It's easier to compare 16:10 to 16:9. That's why they don't use 8:5.
I'm well aware, but if your not going to call 4:3, "16:12", then don't call 8:5, "16:10".
Damn advertising, always putting layman's terms into already simple things.
Derrick Jolicoeur it's not always about math and reducing fractions... 16/9 and 16/10 do compare better and show on first sight which is a wider aspect ratio and which is taller. So do us a favor and do your maths calculations somewhere, where it makes sense ;)
***** Good Scaler chips cost more money. Best to do one's homework instead of just going by a brand name.
I sold my Benq XL2420T after 2 months to buy the same Sony TV but 42". I only say that since then I use TV instead of an HUGE overpriced monitor due their sizes. Now I can see movies, RUclips, gaming on same display and I am more than FULLY satisfied with this. I have an 6600k/16gb/960SLI now, and 60fps goes all time, I don't notice any single negative visual aspect. And the display contrast compared with TN panels is extremely much better on this TV. I do admit that I would be happy (not fully happier) with an ultra-wide 34" monitor but their prices makes me dream on a UHD Sony TV 42-48" instead. I had an 25" LG monitor, was awesome, bought it for 170euro new, unfortunately my kids made a drop test and failed, lol.
I use a CRT because hell yeah.
386dx66 15" crt where you been?
mad lad
WasabiBeast2000 Lol I tried a ps4 on my crt tv its pretty crap 😂
Hell I still use a crt tv with an android box hooked up to it via a hdmi to AV converter box looking a building a pc to play games on that aren't nes or sega XD and I'm just going to get a TV with hdmi hook ups for it but I have to say crt's are still bullet proof and I have no plans to get rid of my good ol tv I got for $20 in 2003 I can watch Netflix Hulu and DVDs on it I'm good XD
i always set up my console with huge TV, and PC with 23-27 inch monitor.
The Witcher 3 with large TV is so damnnnnnnn good experience, but if i play a game like Total Wars, Dota 2 or any MMO, i'd prefer PC and Monitor, i just cant play it on TV, it feel weird and uncomfortable, in another way, The Witcher 3 on console with large TV is so much comfortable to play, i can even play like 5-6 hours long on console+TV, but cant do that on PC+Monitor.
That's what I want to do. I want to play some games on monitor and some on tv. I got a Steam controller and hdmi cable to run to my tv and now have both monitor and tv connected to my graphics card, but now I can't find a simple way to switch both audio and video from computer to the tv. It take several keystrokes to that... a major pain.
+John Smith hey. The easiest way I found was to use steam big picture mode when I want to have my games go to another screen. There is an option in there to set which monitor or tv you want it to load to. Then games will play on that screen as well. Hope it helps.
brybrycrivello Cool I will check that out. Thanks.
Yeah I could just hook my PC to my TV and games like witcher will better and run better than consoles.
i don't have anything no pc no lappy , no TV 😭😢😖😭
Maybe you should try get a job save up and buy those stuff you want.
I am from the future adaptive sync is now available on tv's
I have the 1440p 144HZ acer predator(IPS)
TheEnixSquared While I've got the TN and not the IPS version, I know exactly how you feel. Only downside is the no VESA mounting... unless you're feeling DIY.
Niall Mullenger The height adjustment on it for me is pretty satisfactory :) but yeah, that would be nice.
TheEnixSquared Tell me then, no deal pixels or backlight bleed ? I'm interested in this monitor !
Thomas Syxe Nope, no dead pixels or backlight bleed for mine. I HIGHLY recommend ordering refurbished, it's cheaper and they really make sure it's quality controlled.
TheEnixSquared Thomas Syxe i got the monitor about 2 weeks ago. no problems at all, it's a great monitor.
Honestly 4K TV's as monitors are amazing, I'm done with monitors, my next screen will be a LG 55" 4K oled 120hz B6 or B7
what the fuck with his voice it's so funny
Vizio 32 inch TV for me
thats a bad idea, a 6hz refresh rate isnt that good. if ur playing games, get a monitor
Josh Guglielmo im not that hard core gammer. I hink thats why im ok with my tv
+Josh Guglielmo Can you suggest a good 27" monitor with a tv tuner? (for ps4)
I use a 32 inch tv too. It's not that bad. It also doubles as my netflix display when I'm done gaming.
i right now use a 43 inch ULTRA hd tv. . but i plan on mounting it on my wall an puttin 2 monitors on my desk instead, an just use the tv for 4k games
I play on a sheet of aluminum foil with micro-perforations filled with reative liquids of questionable origin and toxicity.
I now have cancer, but can render games at 4k with adjustable screen size and no measurable input lag.
I use a Samsung U28E590D 28 inch, 4k60hz at 1ms response time. hooked up to my ps4 pro. I personally love it. the colors POP for a damn TN display.. and only for 250 bucks? fuck yes ill take it.
I use a 40' Toshiba, 1080p
xd
i play on 3 60 inch samsung tv's in eyefinity setup. and have no problems at all.
For pc? Can u elaborate, I'm thinking about doing the same
ZESTY ZEST
about 2 years ago i wanted to do eyefinity on my pc. but had some issues with regular monitors. so i put that setup on hold. then about 5 months ago. i ordered a 4k tv. and then said to hell with it i got a nice pc and 2 tv's already. bought a third 60 inch tv.
i have a radeon sapphire nitro r9 video card 4 gig 3 tv's at 60 inch, 2 of which are 1080p hd and the third being a 60 inch 4k tv. all at the same resolution. set it up as a landscape mode. enabled eyefinity. now all my pc runs across 3 60 inch tvs.
model please?
PrinceCadance
the 6 1080 p tv's are series 6 and the 4k is the series 6.
my spec's
intel core i7 3.4 gig

NUCK CHORRIS what's a problem to you might not be a problem to him. he said he had no problems with it so who are you to tell him he does :/
0:44 Ohhhhhh no he didn't!
Actually I have console and PC. True gamers are not defined by a platform.
I plan to use 32" 144 hz korean monitor (with 1 ms lag) for a coach gaming (I don't use TV as a TV anyway).
Dat pause at the end to make sure he didnt say Linustechtips instead of NCIX LOL
I was looking at this Samsung 32" LED FullHD TV, 60hz, 5 ms. Is that good for gaming consoles? Or is there anything else I should look for when wanting a better gaming experience with consoles? Because I had this old ass TV and it felt horrible playing on it, almost like it was lagging. Thanks
PhatCat I'll prefer a smaller one
Its good, bigger is better
whats the model number for that samsung Tv? I've been looking for a 32" tv with low ms for a long time
I'm running on a 32" Samsung too, most of them have a 'gaming setting' which lowers the response time, but makes the colours a bit shallower. It's the 'Samsung le32b530'. I got it off Gumtree for £70 and has lasted me 4 years with no problems.
If your on a budget it's a good move.
it only applies to PC gaming, input lag on a console wont mean much since everyone is playing at the same fps and around the same input lag for tvs. Cosoles are for level playing field competitive gaming, while PC, its the best you have, the higher the advantage you can get over other players, especially noobs starting to get on PC.
Graphics on monitor look a lot better if they're both the same resolution and Max 1440p
THE TV MAKES THE PICTURE BIGGER SO WITH A CONTROLLER JUST LIKE CONSOLE
PLAY BUT WITH A PC SO GET THE TV
chris twoodyhussar you have a point i have th omen x and with my 32 inch tv it looks so much better than my 16 inch monitor
Is this Chinese Monk talk ?
Not sure what I was thinking when I typed this message with a broken keyboard. Honestly I'd recommend a tv only if after you've checked out the input lag, and whether or not the hertz are real. My 4K 60 hertz is also rated for 1080p 120 hertz. Unsurprisingly that doesn't cut it. At least 60 hertz is ok. If that didn't work I'd be pissed. Gotta love that 4K 60 hertz.
I use both an rog swift and a TV for when I play games that are better with a controller (gta 5 of project cars)
Also I use the TV for my tuner card
Will Leonard how is GTA 5 better with a controller? (assuming you mean vs a keyboard/mouse)

how is Project Cars better with a controller? (assuming you mean vs a wheel)
I don't own a wheel. I have not found one I like yet and when i play gta V I mainly drive and fly. it's a much better experience imo. I hate driving with the keyboard because you can not control the throttle
Will Leonard Flying is leaps and bounds better on a controller. I just swap between keyboard and controller while my character is in the animation of entering said vehicle. I usually use the keyboard for driving so I can still shoot because the camera control is better. The lack of throttle control does bug me though.
Also I don't really play on gta online I just dick around with cars planes and mods
my goto for anything gaming related i use my LG 24GM77 1080p@144Hz
ShadeShotGaming hey so is there a difference between 60 and 144 hz? i think there's no difference at all more than 60 hz is unseeable (if there is such word lol) for our eyes!
Mrfailstandstil yes there is
Mrfailstandstil For me there is a HUGE difference because it makes all movement alot smoother I have over 700 hours on cs go and 400 of them i used a 60hz display and when i upgraded to a 144hz i was able to win peaks that i shouldn't and play longer since it wasn't choppy and it didn't hurt my eyes/brain
Mrfailstandstil I feel like for me the cut off is like about 90 Hz. after that I don't notice much difference. but playing a game on my 144Hz monitor is defiantly noticeably better then on a 60Hz monitor.
ShadeShotGaming LED monitors regardless of HZ is not good for your eyes at long durations. One reason why they sell those special computer glasses even in your prescription at Best Buy. Strain on your eyes just makes you end up needing glasses sooner then you would need otherwise.
I'm using around 10 years old acer monitor. It's 720p and has something like 30hz and I still react faster than most players.
So what you're saying is you're only using 1% of your power? 😂
Wtf lol.
Using 4K UHD 55 INCH Samsung TV as monitor. I LOVE IT !!
I play Everquest on my TV and more fast paced games on my 24" monitor . Slower turn based games are fine using a TV since they put out no more fps than a console.
That's not true, they DO output more but it's not NEEDED for you to enjoy the game.
Gamesfan34260
Iuliana Mitru Yes?
i have 400hz sony tv lol
I use a monitor....for console gaming. Bwahahahahahahaha!
Is it better than tv?
I use a hisense 55h7b I got from wallyworld. It was priced wrong in the system and I got for $180 taxes in.
I prefer more story rich and immersive gaming, and we watch a lot of movies through the computer. So hooking it up to the TV was the way to go in this household.
What does 480fps look like o_o
It probably looks like 480 fps.
GucciMan it looks like 480fps. if that wasent obiously.
GucciMan i think no one knows, since monitors have a refresh rate of 144 hz as much, that means that they can show you 144 fps even if fraps says 480 the monitor cant show you that much
Cristian G I think some even have 240Hz, but not 480 as far as I'm aware.
GucciMan You will never know because the human eye only sees 24 fps :P
can you do this for new 4k tvs plz i think they all have 2.0 and some 3.0 HDMI PORTS im building my first pc and dont have the money to buy a new gaming monitor yet but i do have a new 55'' p series Vizio UHD tv
justincase I have 50 p it's fu__in awesome ,also have 144 hrt.gefoce Asus 3d 32" 50p still better,at 60hrts
shagonator2000 ya bro its the shit wish i would have waited to weeks because all the new ones are better and cheaper lol
LG TVs have horrible Input Lags even in GAME MODES. But if you connect your HDMI port for your console as a "Monitor" or "PC" then you virtually have no LAG.
"Game Mode" only changes the color profile of the TV, not the response time or refresh rate
So you are saying we should connect the PC to the TV via HDMI and the problem of input lag will be solved?
Brasker Changing the connection wouldn't really do anything. Every TV has a certain refresh rate and response time. Most TVs have a bigger input lag because they aren't specifically designed for gaming like many monitors are. You can find 1ms response time monitors, but most TVs are somewhere between 5-8ms
More like 20-40ms
Most TVs are NOT 5-8ms. Please don't spread random info if you aren't aware if it's true or not.
As a guy who plays on a monitor I simply cannot play on a tv like my bro does because it actually makes a bid difference in terms of input lag...it feels slow too big because if I play csgo the recoil is more because it’s so big that I need to pull down much more and it feels odd so I suggest sticking to a monitor if your a competitive person
And also playing pubg the recoil is insane it goes way too high up and I feel like I am the only one who notices that
you should redo this video with the update tech
RickyBobby BobbyRicky you should update this comment
@@TheHernara839 It was 3years ago...Maybe Tech Tips has already done an updated vid in which case I don't understand why I need to update my comment. I'm not stating facts that need to be corrected.
so do we should buy tv or monitor
huh?Linux always not give answer even u never change shirt and u don't have shadow!?
I game on a 12 year old plasma tv hooked up to my pc. idgaf
RevengeofGothzilla f**k a give dont I?
I think TVs are eventually going to catch up to monitors as more and more gamers hook their PCs up to them. Gaming on a couch is too nice.
hey Linus, what about plasma TVs? is there a difference?
i hope you mean LED and OLED, i havent been looking but i havent heard of a plasma TV since like the early 2000s
one thing about plasma is they have no refresh rate so no blur i played on one for years they are like 600hz compared to you guys 120 bs
I gamed for years on a Plasma tv never had any problems. Hours and hours of Call of Duty 4. One time my weapon icon did "burn" in but it faded away after a day or so.
Plasma are AMAZING for gaming, sadly nobody sells them anymore.
LG still makes plasma TVs. they have no motion blur whatsoever, it does not exist. it runs on PLASMA. best TV's ever. two cons is that they run a little hot and they are a little darker than LED.
Monitor is the best for me! I do so much better in cod then playing on a tv
War Zone are u stupid monitors have up to 240hz while tvs are 60
some tvs are more 60hz.Sounds like you didn't watch the video kid
@@caribbaviator7058 whats the point of 120hz. Thats just a joke. If your intention is to game, esp shooters you always want framerates first. I own a 240hz and the difference is pretty clear when youre use to 200fps even a 20fps drop at 180 is noticeable. Whats your point with the tvs it's still trash to the point made..
@@caribbaviator7058 also if you watched the damn video he talked about it looking like shit in store LOL. fake frames becuse no actual gpu. At 120hz. Over 1000 pricetag. Stop it..
0:49 why did he cough?
i think it was a console 30fps inside joke
Dru Blanks okay, thanks!
i think he was making fun of ps4 and xbox users some games you dont get more then 30FPS no matter in what you play , tv or monitor
talking about the xb1
PC master twats
I have a 4k 240hz hdr10 TV, could I play a really high end gaming PC on that?
Samsung 32in 📺
i use a tv because i have console. but i also have a gaming laptop so i just use that to play games
Laptops are shit. Come at me bruh
Unstoppable msi released a laptop that has a 1080 (not sure if sli) installed
UhixGames Sager released a laptop with 1080s in SLI.
Dack Jazy a gaming laptop? May i laugh?
UhixGames for 69 million dollars?
it doesn't matter how much Hertz, the important is the response time cause you're in the gaming mode especially in fast phase multiplayer. lol
I discovered that on my 40" 4k smart TV (samsung MU6300) there is a PC mode feature. It is enabled automatically or manually by tagging your source input as PC. It eliminates any lag, if i had to guess it is below 10ms because I cannot tell a difference between my monitor (4ms) and my 4k TV when it comes to response time. Not sure if other TV's have this feature, but it is not advertised at all and is way better than game mode (for PC only) it appears to bypass almost all the processing on the TV end, you can only fine tune your standard color options and active contrast. This is just $600 at walmart, nothing overly fancy at all.
Kinda late, but my alpha smart tv has that feature aswell.
I honestly can't tell the difference from switching between the two.
me neither
than ur a idiot,
It's more lack of experience. Finally felt difference between 60 and 30 fps after switching between console and pc when playing games.
144hz is more then twice the amount of frames per second then a 60hz monitor.
You really should learn the difference between "then" and "than" before questioning other's intelligence.
I use a rock. It's very pretty.
CageCat I use a puddle. Very clear reflections for gaming.
I get 300 fps on csgo 😂
on tv or monitor
Badi Bdh Monitor

why are you pink guy people so fucking strange
Angelo Gerpel what
Linus, I have a question: if i would use tv with 800hz as a monitor with good gpus like 1050GTX. What would be the maximum hz of picture that videocard outputs? This 800Hz would be useful, or am I just have maximum standard 60hZ overall output instead?
60.
Don't use a TV for PC-gaming, if you play real-time games, period.
Minimum a 75Hz @ (advertised) 1-2 ms LCD - but more so 120 / 144Hz for the smoothest feedback.
I don't play. I work, watch movies and surfing the web mostly
It depends on the inputs that your tv has but generally unless its hdmi 2.0 it will always be capped at 60hz native. The 800hz are likely predicted frames that are not native
and 4 years later TV still more cheaper than monitor ....
all I have is a 19 inch 50hz 900p TV :(
I feel you bro
PERFECT FOR PS4 LMAO
no worry consoles only do 30-50fps anyway
i don't feel for you
i have a gtx 980 ti hybrid
i always laugh when i get 1000s of fps at 4k and 1440p
i have a toster
2:24 look at the lag on the tv
4K HDR curved TV. I prefer the immersion at 60fps over any higher FPS. 60 is fine.
Monitors are just too expensive
I use my 42 inch Panasonic Smart Viera LED backlit TV! amazing, just amazing experience
my samsung 50 in has less than 5ms response time is that really good for a tv?
There is no 50" TV with a 5ms response time.
my 60 inch plasma has .001ms sooo.

I was wrong my Samsung tv LN52A6630M1FXZA has a 4ms response I looked it up

That's not even a realistic Samsung model number.
Try harder.
2/10.
I have been using a 55" 4k with hdmi 2.0 as my main monitor for a year now and have been loving it. I even tested it with my regular monitor and didn't notice much input lag at all. I am no longer playing FPS competatively so I didn't need my 1080p 144hz, I even tested it in Battlefield and did just as good. For regular PC use it's amazing as is gaming on a 4ft wide monitor :D
friend do you think a 120 hz TV you solve me well in gaming pc I have a msi card gaming x 1060 6gb
I'm using my 4k TV 120 herz samsung 8000 series 55 inch
I was looking at TVs yesterday and the guy in the store told me TVs aren’t using hertz anymore 🤣
@@gerRule Ask him how he is doing that in windows :) ad 4K and 0 hertz ?
which one
Im using a super ultra 4K LG 55" tv as the display for tv watching, netflix, console gaming and for surfing the web and playing some older types of games on the pc like emulators and older racing titles. I am building a PC right now and I dont really play FPS games much at all so I dont need to worry so much about a monitor. I'll be using my LG tv as the display anyway and the big games I'll be playing from the PC on the big 55" display would be GTA 5 and The Crew along with some other AAA racing titles.
Oh and the response time's not really that bad for me, I have my inputs including PC input set on Game so there's not really much in the way of audio and video desync as well as response times.
I use both Dual Monitor setup Current set up Panasonic 1080P 50UT50
Soon the Panasonic is moving to bedroom
as I got 4K Westinghouse 55" WE55UC4200 for 498.00 CND
Still Waiting for walmart Online to deliver it :(
Till Then Finding any info on TV has been pain the butt
I am looking for possible calibration settings I can try
Just use a 120Hz TV with HDMI 2.0 or later. Simple as that. Even go 4k. Also the Gaming PC is used to watch Netflix, Hulu ECT, so an actual TV is best. The last thing you want to do is watch a good movie on some idiotic gaming monitor.
I use both, mostly since I just scavenged the 40" TV from a friend you didn't want it anymore. And, although I still only use my tiny 15" laptop for gaming, the monitor is Superb for movie watching.
However I recently scavenged an old 1050 by 1440(or so) monitor from another friend who said it stopped working, fixed it, and so I shall be using that from now on as my secondary monitor. The TV I will soon give to a relative.
