- n anticipation of the high-profile match, authorities had a substantial police presence throughout the city and particularly around Brighton Station. Efforts to keep peace between the rival fan groups saw CPFC supporters rerouted away from Queens Road to the station's rear, where they were escorted to the stadium. In contrast, Brighton fans were temporarily held back to prevent any clashes, a measure stemming from a historical rivalry dating back to the 1970s.
Despite the majority of fans enjoying the game responsibly, the day was not without incident. Sussex Police later reported that an officer was injured before the match commenced, a result of a pyrotechnic device thrown near Brighton Station. Thankfully, the officer did not require hospital treatment and is currently recovering.
The police operation led to seven arrests for various offences, including assault, assault on an emergency worker, affray, and violations of the Public Order Act, with two cases exacerbated by homophobia. A Sussex Police spokesperson commended most fans for their conduct but lamented the actions of a disruptive minority. "Officers responded as necessary, and any individuals caught committing offences will be dealt with robustly,”

Amazing how hard you become in large groups.
😂 loads of chances to fight, but quite happy behind the police cordon, see a few harry potters getting excited 😂
Tbf this is Brighton v Palace, its hardly West Ham v Millwall 😂

My point exactly West Ham and millwall would have fought with that many holes in the police lines, it’s a non story, did they clash, or just sing behind the safety of the police cordon.
From what I saw they had a chance to fight, but chanting at each other doesn’t constitute the title of the news report of rivals clash
Now iff they were marching in the streets against our invaders and suchlike they would get my fill respect. 😳🙄
Their error was not waving a foreign or rainbow flag.
How they all start jumping at each other as soon as the police come between em 😂
Two steps forward, ten steps back 😅😅
Shouldn't they be doing their homework?
Brighton fans should be really really embarrassed !!
You notice these little clubs get Leary when the bizzys turn ,why can't these so called fans do like we did in the sixtys and seventys ? These fans today would get such a kicking back in the good old days ,try this boys no police escorts, take away all the barriers, old boys against you lot , old firms ,strong firms these new boys will wet themselves!
Football hooliganism isn't what it was eh lol
Looks like an EDL gathering
For you know what English is
@stevelawson911 yes, clearly you don't.....😏
Mugs.
Little kiddies dancing and prancing arms out like wings trying to be hard
😂😂cpfc mugs
Clickbait! Only the usual boisterous chanting of fans of many clubs. Much ado about nothing. Officer injured? Someone accidentally stepped on his foot while he was shoving people about for no good reason?!
I am not a footie fan but even as an elderly disabled lady, I wouldn't have been worried about walking through the middle of them to reach where I was going.
A JSO protester grabbing a 12 year old boy, dragging him by his coat to make him run alongside the front of a red bus then shoving him into said bus....that's concerning.
A Gaza protester beating up an 80 odd year old man who was only passing by, that's distressing and worrying.
Report the real news. Not propaganda to distract.
Great post.
