My kids loved the notch, window is door trail the most. They was running everywhere. But I was keeping a close eye on them. They wanted to find dinosaurs out there. 😅
We did all these trails, but cliff and notch was my favorite. I highly recommend doing these hikes. But when it's raining. It is very slippery on these rocks.
Been to Badlands on a blue sky day. We did these hikes in the early morning. We was beating the heat that day. My favorite was door trail and cliff shelf trail.
Been here many times. Did these hike in cold, mild or hot. I recommend doing it mild. The ground will get hot at time. Do these hikes in the early morning if it's going to be a hot day. Bring water and a sun hot.
Did the badlands two years ago. You got lucky with the no sun in mid day. It's normally hot in August still. Did all these hikes but cliff shelf was my favorite. I agree, do it in the morning. Do all these hikes in the morning if you can.
I was in South Dakota and did visit the Badlands. I did all four of these hikes. Unfortunately, i had a longer line to use the ladder on the notch trail. But got up and down it with ease.
9:39 did think to see a deer there. You are right. You will only see that in the early morning. Hopefully to get to the badlands soon. I at least i know where the easy hikes are. I do not want to do anything crazy in the badlands and the heat.
Cliff shelf is my favorite hike. If you do it in the morning, on a clear day, it's awesome.
My favorite hike was Door and cliff shelf trail. Easy hikes to do and beautiful scenery.

The ladder was fun notch trail. It was easy and my kids did it with no problems. My favorite hike was door trail for the kids.

The notch trail was my favorite trail. So cool doing the ladder. My kids didn't have a problem with it either.
I saw many kids with no problem doing the ladder. It was the adults more.

Morning hikes in the Badlands is probably the best way to escape the heat.
One of my favorite parks to visit. You get yo explore more than other parks. Also, it's easy to see animals in the park as well.

I did Cliff Shelf trail in the morning and it was awesome. Highly recommend it. Door would be my second favorite hike after it.
Cliff shelf is unexpected hike in the morning. The sun hits the lands perfect.

Did this hikes give years ago. Badlands was one of my favorite parks to visit. You could just explore the area without restrictions.

The notch trail was fun to do. But be careful jumping down in the area. The grounds is more smooth and you can loose traction easy.
I fell down on the notch trail because I couldn't reach down. I jumped down and fell.
