Having a person like Austin is key for time saving and stress reduction. Someone who knows the gear, how to set it up and anticipate problems is so valuable.
I definitely love the fact that you get so detailed with lighting to make a simple clean look! And thanks so much for sharing your knowledge it is soooo helpful to people!
Mad respect to you and the team for bringing all of this together. I am amazed at how little output of some lights adds to the character of the shoot when combined. I’m a lighting novice, but enjoy your videos so much. Thanks.
Thanks so much, it is always great teaming up with talented crew. This is the real lesson, just because you have the output, it does not mean it needs to be used at 100%.
I think it looks good overall. I think if I was DPing, I would have shot into the L of the room to give more depth. And I doubt this was possible but the back wall was almost the same color as the little girls skin… would have been nice to separate that. Maybe having the background with a different ratio would have worked or adding blinds slash. But over all a good setup. Love seeing this content!
The direction was already set when I got to set. So unsure who and when the choice was made. I love shooting into corners too. The color is a great point! Thanks for the feedback!
Your videos are some of the best on RUclips for lighting breakdown. Also sorry if it's already been mentioned but what diffusion frame are you using? do you have a link?
Love the vid. The past two sets I’ve gaffed on, I’ve had problems with the Sidus app disconnecting to the fixtures. So annoying b/c on the app, it lets me adjust sliders but nothing happens on the light. I’ve recently invested in some Nanlite gear, and think that for price to performance, it’s better than aputure.
Great content as always! Would you mind sharing what brand of 6x6 frame that is (I like the Orange corners)... UPDATE... Never mind after further investigation of the video (at 5:56) I can tell these are Matthews Knobs! LOL ;)
idk, looks a bit to washed out to me, too flat, too much levels, no shape on the face, hoped for neg from camera right side, or stronger BG seperation, looks a lot flat to my taste but eyy that's just me.

Since it was the studio’s gear, it saved a lot of time having someone familiar with it.
I see PD. I click. Simple as that
@@renaissancemedia4208 I see you and I appreciate you!
The more lights you put up, the more you can shape the image to be exactly what you want. Great job!
More better! More better!

Who doesn't love commercial behind the scenes content?
Likely the folks that never watch ! lol!
Always happy to see you with a crew. I can smell the time savings.
You and me both! Great way to get better results and learn from others!
Great video! I'm also glad to see the DP listen to your expertise in lighting the scene. Looks like you and all of the crew worked well together!
This was such an awesome breakdown! The importance of having a skilled and experienced gaffer for shoots like this.
Great teams make it happen! Thanks for watching!
Love seeing this kind of breakdown and watching you all work together. Really solid look y’all got there!
@@itsaaronmiller I work alone so often, but the magic comes out with a team!
High key is so beautiful and something I’ve always had a hard time with. Really love the breakdown. Keep it up!
More neg! More neg!
Hard to lean into the high key stuff when we love shadows so much. Thanks for always dropping in!
@@PDMokry I love shadows so that may be my issue haha.

damn that looked good!

Good job keeping the reflections from all them lights out of the glasses.
It was a challenge for sure! Thanks for watching.
thx you ❤

I feel your pain with the app. I hope they keep improving it over time. The Nanlites are great too!

Nice! What camera was used for this commercial shoot?
Thank you! OG Red Komodo
@@PDMokry I was gonna ask but I figure it was OG Red.
@@PDMokry, something about red footage 🤔… that stands out.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Do you have a link to that furniture pad? I’ve had a hard time finding a decent quality one that’s white on one side and black on the other.
I'd love to volunteer on one of your commercial shoots :)
Might have the opportunity to teach a hands on class in the future.
The shadows on the desk were a tough hard? Nice look though.
Not so much in the final edit. Thank you!

8:40 wouldn’t this be over exposing because of the red being 110% or am I confused?
That is not red is the pinkish color of 60% IRE
@@Jmartinezvegaohhh they shouldn’t not have a pinkish red on this haha
That is what comes with the Atomos monitors. The harder thing to read is the shades of grey.
