Good question. It depends on what version of iMovie and iOS you are running. Do you know which versions? I believe this was still active a couple of years ago. Instead of using the extension as shown in the video, you could also do a quick edit in iMovie.
@@bascombproductions $10 to your PayPal if u can find me a way to do this. I don’t care if you tell me a free app that will in a great with the photos on iPad. I need to be able to directly from my videos add text just like we used to be able to before the software update
This didn’t work I do have an iPhone I went to photos app then tapped edit but mine is different my edit this game is really different I tapped more options but all there is is markup! It did not work.
Hey guys this a more understanding tutorial for those who doesnt understand you have to press edit button on the top then u press the 3 dot line and click on the t and that should be it!
Yeah this is great but people want to know how to add text to their videos at a CERTAIN TIME it’s usually to cover up mistakes or made for reclarification. A msg at the start of the video is useless
How about 6s models?can we add text too?thanks for your answer

I know that..im trying to add letters on a video directly on camera roll if I do it on iMovie it’s gonna lose its quality ..
how do i add my own custom text? i’m trying to add the american horror story font
That is the thing my more options button isnt working
What happens when you tap the button?
Nothing happens at all when I tap on the button. The button doesn’t respond in videos. It only responds when I tap it in Live or still photos.
Alisha Narvaez same! Nothing happens when I click on it. Only on a picture does it work, not video.
Ok as soon as I added the iMovie app, the more button started working.
Thanks for this!
You’re welcome!

You may need to turn on the iMovie extension.
Can’t deal with the “music”. Had to stop at :09
On the phone you can choose how many seconds u want it to appear and how far into the video it’s just starts from start to end
Did this work on the phone for you?
I can only add 1 text not 2 at all this sucks
Have you tried LumaFusion? You can add more than one text with it.
Is there a way to do this without imovies?
Are you wanting to use a different app?

For something like that, I’d recommend using LumaFusion. That will give you a lot more control of timing.
Fake
Actually, this video shows the way it used to be in a previous version. The app extension is now no longer available for this within Photos.
