    HI Olga! Beautiful garden as usual. I officially own 4 roses now and I find I'm becoming addicted to them. I have you to thank for that

    Oh I wish we were neighbors! Gardening is my main hobby but I also keep chickens and bees and do upholstery (though I haven’t tackled a sofa yet!) I would love to trade some honey for delicious Ukrainian food ☺️

    Hi Olga
    I came across your channel when you interviewed Nancy Grant at her Fairfield property and was surprised to know that you are in Stratford as I am too! I very much enjoyed your garden, especially your roses. I have some knockout roses in my garden, but would love to grow other types of roses, but just have no idea where to start. I hope we can chat someday I would love to hear more of your garden tips.

      Hello Daniela, hi neighbor! Yes, growing roses is quite exciting. Give me some questions and I will try to create a video for you on where to start for the beginner rosarian. I am starting to volunteer at Booth Memorial park, at the rose garden. Just had a lovely chat with Mr. Frank who runs those 400 roses there.You can see me there, they meet on Tue. and Fri. , 9-12 most of the year. Meanwhile, please send me a message through my email with your questions (gardeningwitholga@gmail.com)

      @@OlgaCarmody Thank you Olga for responding to me. Funny you mentioned Boothe Park since that is where my husband and I got married 8 years ago this past week. We visit Boothe from time to time because we love visiting those beautiful roses. I definitely hope to see you there on some Friday in the near future!

    Z5b, Michigan.
    I have ‘White Dawn’, whose parent is ‘New Dawn’. I have had the same problem with very slow growth, & a very few basal breaks, most height has come from it creating a new leader off an existing cane. I tried growing it in zone 6b & zone 5b. This year, I finally gave up on it & gave it to my daughter in Z7a. It seems to be much happier there with the heat & humidity. I found out, she was not Michigan material!

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  Месяц назад +1

      Well, I read somewhere that New Dawn is propagated for so many years since it was introduced, and propagation was often done on weak stems , that the genes of this rose is weakened. I might agree with this statement.

      Thank you for the insightful response… makes sense. I’ve replaced her with ‘The Pilgrim’, & it seems to be more prolific, with nice, long first shoots for a 1st season rose. Waiting for climbers to reach mature height can be a bit of a ‘waiting/patience’ game, especially at my latitude (47°N), but I know it will pay off.

    Olga you have such a beautiful garden! I can see how much you enjoy your space and I love your what can you do attitude about it all when things struggle a bit. What is the tree behind your head here @7:24?

    Beautiful! Is that agastache in front of Olivia Austen?
    Here in NC, it was so dry and hot for weeks that I could barely keep up watering. A lot of my summer blooms have faded out, so my July garden isn't as colorful as I wish. Not even the yarrow could keep it's color like I'm used to. Things are bouncing back now that the rains have come, but everything (including me lol) looks a little stressed

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  Месяц назад +2

      Yes, that agastache is a bit too happy near Olivia rose. I love all the pollinators there! We woke up to another cool morning here in Connecticut, I hope the cool breezes are here to stay! Well, have a stress free day!

      Скажите а у вас в небе есть следы химии? Белые разводы, как разлитое молоко в небе? Очень много растений погибло от этих распыления. 😢
