    Shout out to Parker for keeping it real.. I did take care of him with sending him another 16500 amp and also a 200x4 amp. When you are sending that much power to a speaker and i believe it was way more than 6,ooo and the SMD just didn't update and the speaker dead shorts, well it is like welding and also though the should of went into protect well there are times that the dead short just pops all circuits at one time and being that he has so much lithium power well we are talking meltdown. Have any of you popped a speaker and the cap ( Blass Blocker ) blows? it makes a sound like a gun shot.. I think this is a lesson to us all about being safe especially when driving. Now if you youtube this you will see that many brands amps speakers have cought on fire.. Also to also update something to you all.. Marts is brazillian design but are made in china.. Now we have sold several pallets worth in a short amount of time and i will say we have very few returns and only 2 that did catch on fire and this is over thousands of amps and the other amp we got back was hooked up to serval woofers already wired to under 1 ohm which is not recommended.. So it does not matter what amp brand it can happen and then can pop and spoke. so be careful when you step up in the 10K world, it is like using a welder. And big shout out to parker for keeping it real. Finally when we ship these big amps we do the best we can to ship them safe but UPS, FEDX and USPS can be very ruff with our boxes and things can get nocked loose.. Buy the time you all see this video parker will have new amps worth several thousands dollars and that is the customer service we provide and us showing how we support parkers channel..

      Yeah man that is great customer service! I got some good deals on open box lithium from you guys so I am surprised you take back the returns that you do.. but i guess sometimes people just change their mind or order the wrong thing.. I always like getting open box items for a good deal myself so it works out good for people like myself.. . Anyways, regarding these amps, Are these as reliable as the Korean designs?

    I'm a lot older than all you guys and still a basehead. In my day, a $1000 amp ($2150 in today money) would get you maybe a 500 watt amp. Granted, that was a much truer rating than the ridiculous shit they claim now. Then, most amps were rated true RMS and only 4 ohm. Some rated at 8 & 4, but almost none rated at 2. Only a few rich guys would run at 2 though they seemed to hold up ok. I would sell my soul to go back in time with any of the monster setups Parker has built for us. Hell, I would sell my soul for a decent system in my truck less than 1/4 this size

    The one positive thing to take from this is how awesome the car audio industry is and the people in it, usually if something does go wrong like this the company or the retailer is willing to work with you to either repair it or replace it and this goes for woofers and amplifiers! So yes the bigger amps and subs are quite expensive but you only have to buy it once and it is much much better to have more power on tap than you need than if you were to be overworking and trying to squeeze out every last watt from your smaller amp because clipping/dirty audio signal/dirty power/low voltage are all things that can damage woofers way faster than overpowering them! Then once a woofer is damaged the amps protection circuit is put to the test and who knows if it will save your amp or not just isn't worth the gamble to me...

    The brazilian amps switch currents too quickly for the protection circuitry to kick on before they self destruct. Thats all they run down here in south florida and they catch fire quite often

    • @beyondthedetails
      @beyondthedetails Год назад

      Yeah, that's a lie. As someone whose been in the bass scene in South Florida for over 15 years I can 10000%, say this is a lie. Only time they blow or have issues is if you aren't running the proper electrical. But, even then alot of big boy Amps not named Sundown would. The catch on fire thing is rare and I feel bad for Parker.

    • @enzos9211
      @enzos9211 Год назад +1

      @beyondthedetails i have a full 45,000 sq ft build house making amplifiers for a few companies which i cant disclose overseas. The only brazilian amp boards that dont switch currents are the small ones that have a texas instrument boards. The other ones switch currents too fast ,as in the electrical cant keep up i would think you being in the bass scene for 15 years you would know what that is . Power supplies are also on the lower end which is why so many go into protect mode and never reset. Anything bigger than the smart 3 run those power supplies I source them for pennies and the better power supply the one made in korea is only a few cents more in cost and taramps wont use them . Im also a distributor for over 600 different brands . I can show you a pallet of burnt taramps just from the jeep crew alone all running OFC cables and dual mechmans with banks and still they fry. New taramps versions will have upgraded power supplies and better power/speaker connections than the spade or undersized awg inputs. I have over 25 years in the game from installing to owning my own line which was all made in the USA before i sold it for a few mill and they still operate in florida just not made in the usa anymore.

    Crowbarirng an amp at high or full output is quite dangerous to the amp and its power supply. Most if not all protect circuits cannot handle this because of the cardinal rule that a transistor is the fastest fuse known! Surprised that 12 doesn't use a neo magnet.

  • @goldeneagle7559
    @goldeneagle7559 Год назад +1

    Glad to see this video as I commented on the previous video about wanting to know the actual cause..
    It's a bummer that the sub took out the amp and it's even more of a bummer that the protection circuit didn't cut the power to the amp before catching fire.. in your video you can see the power light, clip light and protection light all come on and the amp continued to push power to the sub...
    As you said though, thankfully the amp fire didn't spread to the lithium!
    Were there any fuses between the amp and battery bank? I would think they would've popped when the amp shorted out and caught fire if there were..
    If you intend to install fuses between the amp and the sub to protect the amp I believe the mathematical equation used is total wattage divided by the output voltage. So say you're running a 15k amp at 1 ohm, a 125-130a A/C rated fuse or breaker would be sufficient and would disconnect the sub from the amp in the case that the sub blows.
    Good luck man, love the videos!
    Been testing different subs myself and though I mainly run 15's I've been beating on a Orion HCCA 122 lately and recently metered a 144db @ 40hz on a 1500w amp

    Unfortunately that is a poorly designed subwoofer. It's never going to stay together
    Way too many spiders, giving such a stiff compliance, and not a large enough spider landing on the basket, with so much motor force. It needs a 4 layer spider and a bolt down spider clamp ring, to even remotely stay together.

    I blew a JP95 a while back. Sub went from 2 ohm to 0 ohm and killed the sub channel on the amp. Down4Sound replaced the amp for me but I was really disappointed that the sub output didn't go into protect.

    Most likely output section went and that took the power supply section witch the mosfets in the power supply act as a direct short from the positive to ground.

    Some subs are made with a shorting ring so that don't happen when a sub blows it won't blow ur amp also

      Shorting rings are to reduce eddy currents or unwanted inductance. It lowers distortion

    I'm super disappointed by this set of MTX 12"s in a sealed box I just bought. They work, but they get hot and don't perform a quarter as well as my Audiobahn AW1206t 12"'s do, on exactly the same amp. I'd much prefer to swap the MTX's for a good 15', ported. Is this a good move, or should I just stay with 12's and go dual ported boxes?

    When testing high powered equipment like this could you put some accurately rated fuses on the amps speaker outputs going to and from the sub? I seen a lot of home audio speakers that have a fused link, sometimes it’s mounted in the crossover or just on the back of the cabinet.

    am i the only one who started to laugh out loud as soon as i seen the fire coming from the fan? i love the fact that he "fixed" the sub with some glue on the spider and then proceeded to turn it up way to high and did his amp in. the phrase " cant fix stupid you can only hope to improve" really fits this video. how much equipment are you going to destroy? i hope you learned your lesson pecker the bass head.

      That happens quite often with Generation Z kids his age with more money and resources than they know what to do with. They ALLL do it with equipment, electronics, cars, even property costing themselves many 10s of thousands of dollars through out their 20s-30s until one day they snap out of that shit when life catches up to them lol.

    On another note, you mentioned you bought 2 18" subs to hook up to that amp. Outta curiosity, what subs were they?? And as always another great video. I look forward to waking up on Sunday and see another new video in my notification bar
