honestly this was such a shock to me, like it was E9 so I assumed something would happen, i did not expect a betrayal on that scale!!!
Fun Fact; the Red Wedding literally started the form of „reaction videos”. When this episode FIRST aired, those who read the books knew this was going to happen but did not spoil to those who didn’t read the books. They recorded their reaction to this episode, posted them online and they went viral and therefore created the whole reaction videos phenomenon on the internet!

The positive thing is that the stupid war the Starks started in S1 is finally over. The people of King's Landing are now safe. Joffrey and Margaery can have a happy wedding and sprout plenty of rosy stags.

@@DJGAMESUK War starts when soldiers engage in open combat. Catelyn did not start a war, Robb Stark did by throwing his army at two halves of the Lannister forces.
And Tywin did start a small, local war when he sent the Mountain to terrorise the Riverlands and laid siege to Riverrun but that one stopped the moment Tyrion walked into his tent.
The real responsible for the war, however, is Ned. He decided to publish his accusation in full understanding of the consequences instead of keeping it quiet as Baelish proposed.
Baelish, of small upbringing, is the true protector of the people and purveyor of jobs to deserving young girls. The Starks are the entitled, endlessly privileged who spend the youth of the land for their own petty selves ;)

I threw the book across the room, cursed George RR Martin, and wondered for the umpteenth time why I was subjecting myself to this kind of storyline.
tbf i dont blame you, i feel like ill be the same even though ill have watched the show when i read the book ill still want to throw it away because ill have to live it all again, and im guessing since its the novel its in more detail and better as per usual when they do book to tv/movie
@@DJGAMESUK Actually, there is far more detail to wade through in the books, a richer setting, but the pivotal story isn't actually anymore detailed. It's one of the rare occasions where I think the video version is far better than the books, at least as far as flow and narrative consistency, for me. The books were a slog, and Martin hasn't published anything in the series since the video series came out. All the book fans were left hanging at roughly season 5. So, the videos spoiled the storyline that he would have written (and didn't do particular justice to the conclusion). But Martin cashed out big with the series rights and let the books run fallow. So, I'm not sure I'd bother to read the books, were I you.
Robb is being naive if he think he can get away not maryying one of the frey's daugther killing karstark and that led to his downfall so many stupid decisions.
Yeah, that man he beheaded said that he lost the war when he married Tulisa!! Such a shame.
It is unclear whether this would have changed anything. Tywin basically bought Roose Bolton and Walder Frey was always going to side with the stronger side.

Call back to season 1 when Littlefinger told Sansa and Arya about the Hound's brother putting his face in the fire and adding "don't let the Hound know you know that. Else no one will be able to protect you."
It's almost like Littlefinger isn't trustworthy.

@DJGAMESUK fun bit in the books. The hound also knocks Arya out and drags her away but since it's all perspective characters, George writes it "the last thing Arya felt was the axe hitting her on the back if the head" and then waited 400 pages to let the reader know that jk she's fine. She got hit with the ax handle.

Since you enjoy Davis Bradley so much, you'll get more of him as a druid in Britannia, which is a pretty good show set in the time of the Roman conquest.

I confess my reaction was not like yours. I was a book fan of this series so I knew it was coming. I was amazed that they actually stayed almost true to the books when they put that event on the screen. I thought, wow 🤩 well done 😂
