中華基督宗教研究中心於2001年7月1日成立。在成立之前，中心成員已有多年時間積極進行基督宗教思想方面的研究，特別在基督教神學、宗教哲學和社會倫理方面，並且獲得不少亞洲基督教高等教育聯會的贊助。

The Centre for Sino-Christian Studies (CSCS) was established in July 2001. Before the establishment of the Centre, its members have been for many years active in research in Christian thought, especially in the areas of theological, philosophical, and socio-political studies.
