@@FABAutomotiveDetailing In my experience you get about 60 days out of Rain X depending on how much you have to use your wipers and if you use their washer fluid to keep it fresh. If you use their washer fluid you can go a really, really long time. I very rarely use my wiper blades and use their washer fluid so I can go a whole season or more without going the full monty of cleaning, claying, hand polishing and re-application. I've occasionally used aquapel and another from Simoniz (whose name escapes me) but I always wind up going with Rain X because it's cheap, readily available and predictable. I used rain x for years before I switched to Griots glass sealant. They are very similar at first but living in the Seattle area, rain x fails in about 1-2 weeks and Griots lasts for about 2 months. As each product starts to fail I do get a haze and some streaking. I hope this info helps.
Agreed; Rain-x actually is an exercise in pure frustration.... I believe it's one of those that you are forced to use their washer fluid stuff and continual applications to sell more product. If you stop using it, it then causes all kinds of wiper noise you wouldn't have if you never bothered. I did try several vehicles and every conceivable application style over 15+ years. No thanks. Switched to Aquapel and the stuff is just amazing, probably liquid cancer, but it's literally one of the few products in the auto detailing world that exceeds expectations. Best part about it is it's fine with even just light quick buffer action for window prep if you're just doing a friend a favor on the cheap.
Jonathan Stewart Putting water on the towel worked great as well. I looked for an empty spray bottle and couldn’t find one. Any other time I have 5 laying around. 😂
I already know that both products work nicely. Like other car products such as waxes, which one lasts the longest. That is what we non-perfectionists look for. Look forward to your update.
I'm not familiar with the Griot's Garage product but I have been using Aquapel by PPG for years. Much better than RainX. The Aquapel last for 6-9 months (in Michigan weather) between applications. I use #0000 steal wool with dish soap to clean the windshield. I also replace windshield wipers every 6 months.
For me, cost would be the defining factor. A tip on the rain-X, a simple polish (not reapplication) helps renew it. I personally clean my windshield more than once a year, so claims of others to last a year don’t bother me. Nothing beats a fresh application. I have tried (with great results) applying with a small dual orbital polisher, gets every nook and cranny and I just leave that pad in a zip lock bag till next time. Some people are flipping out on the price… a bottle of either should last you many years. It doesn’t take much. Last thoughts. If they are easy to get off, then they won’t last. If your windshield is hazy, you didn’t get it off. A little more elbow grease next time 🤣
Hopefully an update if you find one lasts longer than the other. Honestly anymore I just use the orange rain x washer fluid in my vehicles, it lends the same effect after using it a while and I never have to mess around with that wax on wax off nonsense.
David Behr It wasn’t even close to drenched it had just a few spots on it. I never even got close to spraying the door panel. Even if I did it wouldn’t have hurt it unless it was flooded with water. Steam cleaning doors puts a lot more water on the panels then I did. I’ve had to hose puke off panels. The panels and switch housings are designed to be able to withstand water spraying on them.
Jake Urbom Thanks! Only a few drops hit the door. It was either keep the door open or have the door closed with the engine running and everyone would have said the audio was terrible because the car was running.
grocerylist The door panel barely even got wet only had a few drops on it. I knew it was open so I paid close attention to where I was spraying. It was too hot to have the door closed because the AC would’ve had to been on and everybody would complain my audio sucked from the engine noise.
Great job on this video, it's nice to see RainX has come competition. I'm going to try Griot's next time but when I used RainX I've always noticed the windshield get's dirty quicker, has anyone else noticed that? I also was wondering which brand last the longest after the first application. Thanks again!
Awesome video I am not a fan of the rain x it worked better 20 years ago than now I am waiting on the griots garage glass sealant so I can apply it can’t wait 😊
I don't know if it actually worked better 20 years ago than it does today, it's probably just that there are comparable products available today whereas 20 years ago Rain X was pretty much the only option available. I still use it, it works well for me. The GG glass sealant works comparably well and wouldn't be a bad choice at all... but considering price, performance, and the fact that I have the Rain X on hand...since it's not broke, I doubt I'll be fixing it on my end anytime soon...LOL

I've been using the Rain X windshield washer fluid in my vehicles for years & it works pretty well. Except in my 2013 Dodge Ram that I had... after I added the Rain X windshield washer fluid to the reservoir, my low windshield fluid light came on. I went to the Dodge maintenance & they said that the Rain X messes with the sensors. I let the Rain X run out & put in regular windshield washer fluid & no problem. Odd one, huh🤷♂️ Great review Brian👍👍 Curious about the durability between the two🤔
IntervalePC RainX is a good product I have used in the past also. That is weird about the washer tank level sensor. I plan on doing updates since it’s right next door. 😂
Another great video Brian. I am going to delete mine since you have yours out. I really like the Glass sealer and the RainX. I personally will continue to use the RainX after mine runs out for the simple fact of availability. I love the glass sealer. And you are correct about the pricing and ounces. But you are not taking into consideration the fact you can go about any where and get the RainX and you have not figured in shipping on the Glass sealer and having to wait. …..If the glass sealer was at the local stores I would get it all the time
Camaro Time Thank you Pete! You don’t have to delete yours I just watched it. If you buy $59 worth of product shipping is free from Griot’s garage. If I had to buy just that product I would not buy it off the Internet because yes you pay shipping. But I get exactly what you’re saying

As usual nice video. I haven't used a sealant on my car yet. I do use rain x (orange stuff) for my window washer fluid and get very similar results. At about 50 mph the rain just blows right off. As far as window cleaner everyone has a favorite, I like Meguiar's perfect clarity glass cleaner. Stoners invisible glass is also very good. My least favorite is Chemical Guys glass cleaner. Not trying to throw anyone under the bus, just my experience. Keep the videos coming 👍✌️🇺🇸
B Stewart ExecutiveCarCare Thank you! I just like to show how stuff works and everyone make up their own mind. Shiney’s Glass Cleaner is great and so is Adam’s.
been using rain x for years in the rainy pnw. i also realized that the 2 are about the same price when factoring the amount of product. i am going to try griots after my bottle of rainx is done. the way to get the haze off is to spray glass cleaner on it after it hazes.
OR you can throw your bottle of rainx in the trash like I did (oh wait, dump out an recycle); get your aquapel on! I live in stupid liberal portland, about as much rain as stupid liberal seattle... the aquapel has been a revelation in detailing products that ACTUALLY work how they are supposed to and exceeded expectations. You'll easily get 6+ months out of it even with zero window prep. Window prep will get you 6-18 months depending upon how well you keep your wiper blades clean (hopefully you clean them with every wash). Next step: Leave seattle.
Glad to see that people are still out there doing coke and still able to function. Sure, he spoke pretty fast, but that's just a fun side effect having fun with blow.
I used an applicator pad & do agree that the pad soaked up too much of the product and would have been better served by using just a plain tight weave small towel. I think if a company makes one good product you tend to go to them when you need another type of product (which is why I just ordered Griot's bug remover).
ArmorAll came out in 2021 with extreme shield CERAMIC glass treatment&clearner and it last almost a year before apply it again. It is on the pricey side but its a 18oz can,
Just came across this video today man. In my opinion the griots offered some extra Clarity when the wipers were going. Going to pick up the glass sealant this weekend. Good video brother.
I've found out that Rain X seems to have a curing time for the best results. Seems like it's about a day or so. Make sure you don't use the wipers on it too much the first day or else it'll start to streak. Found this out when I was taking a trip rainXed the windshield before we left. Drove for about 5 hours of nothing, then pouring rain, so much so the rainX wasn't keeping up, had to use wipers and then it started streaking and the effect was almost completely gone after 30 minutes of wipers. On the other hand my daily had a few dry days to cure and rainX can last for months. Once the initial dirt build up is removed by wipers then the rainX works exactly the same as it did with the water just flying off in the wiper arches. Typically use wipers as little as necessary as they aren't typically needed above 40MPH with a treated windshield.
Looks like they both worked the same. But what matters is which one lasts longer. Probably most glass sealants work about the same but some outlast others. I used rainx all the time until Adams came along
@@DRTYFN what??? Im cali it just rained for a week and i drove 600 miles and its still beads for me. Prep is key but one thing ive noticed since i began using it dont use your wipers it wears it off
I've used Rain-x for over 40 years. Using the wipers doesn't tell me anything because I used Rain-x so I don't have to use the wipers. The only reason I would switch is for durability. Rain-x can be a bit finicky when road dirt is thrown on the windshield. We need to see a good durability test. Thanks for the video.
I started with Rainaway in the 80’s , it was hard to get off but worked well . I use Rain X now , lots of rubbing with water but a good result . Very good video & no your not CRAZY .

I've been using RainX for years. Lately my local stores have all been carrying a spry-on type of Rain-X instead of the little bottle. It doesn't work nearly as well.
I've been using rainx for about 20 years or so. I don't know if they changed the formula about 5 years ago, because the last 2 bottles I've used seem harder to buff off the haze. Now I have to use a damp towel to buff it off and remove the haze. Yesterday I tried the Griot's Garage Glass Sealer for the first time, and it is a lot easier to buff off and the glass looks clearer. The cap on the Griot's is terrible though. Drips down the cap and sides of the bottle.
In the video, after you washed the windshield and before you put the repellent on you had some brown stuff in your hand that you wipe over the windshield? what was the brown stuff and why did you use it?
Emmanuel Selvas Yes but I mentioned that in the video. I wanted to make it fair because people would complain that I put 2 coats of Griot’s on. Normally yes I apply 2 coats.
FAB Automotive Detailing I’ve gone to 4 different stores looking for the griots, the gentleman at the store said he ordered the griots online and was garbage said that rainx is better but I’m not having luck with it
Emmanuel Selvas Yeah you have to buy it online. I have it in my Amazon store also if you buy off Amazon. There is a link in the video description. It’s not garbage as the video shows. It all has to do with preparation and most likely the guy that told you that just applied it without preparation.
I like to super clean the windows then apply wax (banana magic) to the windows just like on paint and it works just like rain-x. Then use news paper to get rid of all the streaks.
It would great to see the test while driving down the road and using the go pro. You could get someone to drive in front of you with a garden sprayer to mimic the water test.
Excellent review FAB! Yeah, they both look about equal to me. I guess the winner would be decided based on longevity. The Griots Glass Sealant I ordered came in a few days ago. Cant wait to see how it performs... 👍
I add the Rain X washer deicer fluid to my Sienna, and it performs fairly well, one thing to note is that you must keep the windshield clean for any of these products to work properly. Summers are a little easier here in the mid Atlantic/ northeast. Thanks
This comparison is great however longevity is the key. Rainx last about a month. I've been using Aquapel for 18 years and it lasts about a year. That, to me is the key. I usually apply it once in spring /summer and again in the fall before winter because in Western New York (Buffalo area) and we get lots of snow and it makes a big difference in winter as well.
What is it with Hyundai's & the huge windshields lol.... I always say the windshield is the biggest part of my car 😁... Nice compression... I think the question will be how long they last compared to each other.... I use to love RainX till I had a huge streaking problem...Haven't used it since..
I used rainx along time ago and truly wasn't impressed by it. Yes, it's "cheap" but cheaper ain't always the best way to go. I'm leaning towards griots they both seem to do the job griots just did it alittle better. Thanks for the fab-ulous video.
Yes, you did. Then you dragged the wet rainx rag through the griots. Pulling the griots into the mix. The streaks that you complained about, where in the places where you did that. Personally I think they are exactly the same thing. But if you are trying to prove a difference, then you really should keep them separate. =0) Next time maybe 3 inches width of tape down the center to help prevent that?
Does adding this help with removing nasty bugs easier? Cause where i live i can clean the windshield and drive 5 mins and it looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years.
You : Hi neighbor can I borrow your car? Neighbor : Huh? Why? You : So I can clean it out. Neighbor : Hell yeah! Wish my neighbors would ask to clean my car!! Lol
great video and thanks think ill buy the griots just cause of quantity and i can agree that from the inside griot did a better job , one question can i use the product without claying the glass abd why clay the glass ?thanks
Rlph580 delga Thank you! It’s the Same concept as paint when it comes to claying. If there are contaminates the sealant won’t bond to the glass as well as it would a contaminate free glass.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailingI thought it was funny because it brought back a memory from childhood. My dad did the same in his farm truck. The smell came from what we stepped in though. 😂
Don’t if anyone has mentioned it but the defroster melts it away RainX. Xpel had a version too but that only lasted a round trip from SEA to SFO. I still use RainX for the cheapness factor.
One of the most important parts of this video is deep cleaning the windshield before applying either product. Thumbs up just for that. I use Aquapel as it seems to last longer then Rain-X and I apply Aquapel in direct Sunlight. BTW: When you crack the Aquapel applicator, smoke rises from it from the chemical reaction going on. Just watched your one week video test, Griot's did look clearer at higher speeds, less tiny beads on that side. I'll be interested in the longevity of the Griot's Glass Sealant.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Aquapel > all others. It works like new even 6+ months later... I've gotten close to a year out of it with water beading, and just being picky, decided to use again, but you could really go 12-18 months easily. I've even been lazy and applied on just lightly prepare windows and it still works amazing. Checkout dallas detailing, he uses citrol as a after clay for window prep.
I've been a Rain-X user for many years. As far as how long it lasts, it can vary. Using the wipers seems to wear it off the glass, so the more often it rains, the faster it will wear down. I can easily get 3-4 months out of an application though. Using Rain-X washer fluid GREATLY extends the life of each application, I can get 6 months easily if I use Rain-X washer fluid. Using ANY other brand washer fluid makes the Rain-X wear off MUCH faster.

I used rain x for years before I switched to Griots glass sealant. They are very similar at first but living in the Seattle area, rain x fails in about 1-2 weeks and Griots lasts for about 2 months. As each product starts to fail I do get a haze and some streaking. I hope this info helps.
Chris Brower Thank you for the information!
I give the RainX a mist of water before removing with a dry microfiber. Comes off easily. Been using for years, great product.
I use collinite 845. Seems to hold up longer than ceramics from what ive personally seen ans independent testing here on RUclips as well
If you use it all the time what is the life expectancy we can hope for?
It all depends on how often washer solvent is used and how much rain it sees but typically 4-6 months.
Thanks FAB ... I'm new to channel big fan of Pan the Organizer and Auto Fanatic but love your videos on the griots garage products thanks
Rodney Young You are welcome and thanks for checking the channel out. Griot’s Garage has been my go to for years.
Awesome video. I would like to see a how to on cleaning the microfiber towels. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I have a video on cleaning microfibers if you look through my channel. I might make a new video soon.
I ditched RainX and glass sealants for ceramic coating. I have had it on for 2 years and still performs like new.
drdyno That’s another great alternative!
I love griots garage products. Well worth the extra cost. They last for years too, I have glass polish from a decade ago lol
brkbeat junkie They make awesome products and for what you get the price isn’t that bad. They do have great shelf life.
I have heard good thing about Aquapel!
Thanks for the vid ! RainX seems to make my wiper blades fall apart ,
And ... gooo bills !!
FoMoCowboy I hope I can make a n update also! Nothing wrong with using the washer fluid version.
I wonder how all the door electronics are working after getting drenched in water.
Great comparison. I couldn't get over the fact that the driver door was open the entire time.
Jake Urbom Thanks! Only a few drops hit the door. It was either keep the door open or have the door closed with the engine running and everyone would have said the audio was terrible because the car was running.
Your neighbor must really fart up his car to have so many air fresheners
KillaGT Guy 😂 I don’t know but yeah he has a lot!
KillaGT Guy was thinking the same thing. 🤢
And keeping the door open while the door panel gets soaked.
grocerylist The door panel barely even got wet only had a few drops on it. I knew it was open so I paid close attention to where I was spraying. It was too hot to have the door closed because the AC would’ve had to been on and everybody would complain my audio sucked from the engine noise.
I'd rather smell farts than multiple Little Tree Black Ice. Yuck.
Great job on this video, it's nice to see RainX has come competition. I'm going to try Griot's next time but when I used RainX I've always noticed the windshield get's dirty quicker, has anyone else noticed that? I also was wondering which brand last the longest after the first application. Thanks again!
Thank you! Griots last longer for sure.
The GG glass sealant works comparably well and wouldn't be a bad choice at all... but considering price, performance, and the fact that I have the Rain X on hand...since it's not broke, I doubt I'll be fixing it on my end anytime soon...LOL

jimmy Dennis Thank you! I have used RainX before and never had a problem. Griot’s is a good product though.
I just bought Griot's after your last video. Love it no streak. I always had a hard time with rainx being hard to get off
Now you need a hydrophobic solution so the interior door panel that got soaked can dry faster.
grocerylist Only had a few drops on it. I knew the door was open so I paid close attention. It was too hot to have the door closed if it would’ve been closed the engine would’ve been running with the A/C on and everybody would complain my audio sucked
autohabib.com
They seem the same to me .
A good neighbor, would have replaced the blades . Haa. I do think though, that if Griots calls for two coats, it should get two coats. Great review. Take care.
gkc booth They seem the same to me also! Yeah I thought about doing two coats but I wanted it to be fair everyone would’ve complained. Thank you
I've been using the Rain X windshield washer fluid in my vehicles for years & it works pretty well.
Moral of the story is dont buy a dodge?
I worry about what the Rain-X fluid is doing to the paint on the roof of the car when it runs off.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Not that one. The one where I had mentioned to you I was going to do half the windshield in each and see how long they last...LOL It's all good. Mine was not good anyway
Camaro Time Ok I got ya! I had tons of requests for this video I had to make it.
I use invisible glass rain repellent idk how long it will last but its pretty good and using wipers is not a problem it doesn't make it judder and hazy like many people said for rain x
The only downside to Griot's is it is not as readily available as the RainX is. Thanks for the tip!
I’ve used rainX washer fluid for many years, works very well, buy it when it’s on sale
Dale Penner I have used it before and I agree it works great!
Glad to see that people are still out there doing coke and still able to function. Sure, he spoke pretty fast, but that's just a fun side effect having fun with blow.
Jeremiah Bachmann Yeah no drugs here!
It is on the pricey side but its a 18oz can,
I made a video on that ArmorAll product actually. It worked great but didn’t last me more then a few months.
I'm still leaning to the Griot's side nothing against RainX. Just my opinion. Nice review FAB!!
HOOF HEARTED Thanks bro!
MTM it was hard work holding the camera and turning the wipers on.
MTM It's not easy being ME!!!
Just came across this video today man. In my opinion the griots offered some extra Clarity when the wipers were going. Going to pick up the glass sealant this weekend. Good video brother.
404 not found Glad you found it! Griot’s Glass Sealant is great and doesn’t cost very much. Thanks
Great information! Thanks
Looks like they both worked the same. But what matters is which one lasts longer. Probably most glass sealants work about the same but some outlast others. I used rainx all the time until Adams came along
ZoutlawSS I agree most glass sealant products are close to the same.
Many tell nv nova glass has the best results!!! Review please
Rain x holds up a couple months but I usually have to apply a coat once evry month so it beeds like it was recently applied
For the price of either of the products applying it once a month really isn't all that bad.
RainX lasts maybe 100 miles in real rain here in Oregon. It’s worthless.
Great comparison. Love this video
Thank you!
I started with Rainaway in the 80’s , it was hard to get off but worked well . I use Rain X now , lots of rubbing with water but a good result . Very good video & no your not CRAZY .
I think both products perform great but Griot's is clearer on the glass for sure. Thanks but my wife also says I am! haha
FAB Automotive Detailing True but it’s not here in Canada as far as I know . Your wife’s wrong LOL !! 😆😆
Mr. Worf Yeah I don’t think Griot’s ships to Canada either! Sorry
FAB Automotive Detailing Pity I’d check it . Oh well . Thanks !
The product look the same to me in the water test .. Great job FAB
Ouzo Lou Garage I agree! Thanks
The problem with rain x is at street lights at night in the rain, not during the day and no washer fluid until the product stops working. Good Video!
Jstall7543 I have heard many people say that but I have never had that problem before. Yes washer fluid will definitely degrade the products quick. Thank you
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Ya, it only happens on the freeway, I think it's because the street lights are up the middle on I-5.
Jstall7543 This is the perfect example that everyone’s experience with products can be different. It all depends on the situation
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing thanks to you I'm going to order the Glass Sealer to try out!
I appreciate you evaluating these products, you have my up vote and my sub.
A.E. W. You are welcome! Thank you I appreciate it and welcome to the FAB Family!
nice what is the update? which one performed well? may i guess? it took 2 to 3 months to last?
The Griots lasted longer at about 3 months
How about adding Stoner Invisible Glass spray for comparison, or do you consider Stoner a product for use on the inside of the windshield only?
I have never used Stoners but correct me if I’m wrong isn’t it just a cleaner? If they sell a sealant like these I wouldn’t mind testing it out.
I haven't seen any videos for detailing a vehicle with a Sunroof. I just got a 2015 Ford Escape Titanium and would like to see how you'd detail and maintain a Sunroof.
I can probably come up with a video on that! I have a video cleaning out the sunroof drains on the Jeep!
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Can't wait to see it!
I missed that in my search. I'll comb through your vids for it, thanks for the response. New subber btw, love the channel!

I've been using RainX for years. Lately my local stores have all been carrying a spry-on type of Rain-X instead of the little bottle. It doesn't work nearly as well.
Pat Walker I agree the spray on type isn’t nearly as good.
Brandon Keithley HCW does work good on glass. That is what’s on my truck windows.
Rain x is pretty hard to not streak. I applied it today and had to spray water on it to make it not streak.
Let's see in a few weeks if there's a difference in durability
Guillaume Gaudin J will make an update video to check durability
I’ve been using Rainych since it came out and it never ever had a problem with it and I never use my wipers in a downpour or any rain
I think they have changed the formula! Yeah the cap can be a mess on this product. Normally though the dome caps are great for detailing products.
Another in the long line of great informative videos from FAB Automotive Detailing! Be well Brian! ~Tim~🙂
Timothy Kunze Thank you Tim! Hope all is well with you!
Thanks for the informative video 👍👍👍👍👍
You are welcome!
In the video, after you washed the windshield and before you put the repellent on you had some brown stuff in your hand that you wipe over the windshield? what was the brown stuff and why did you use it?
It’s a clay bar to de contaminate the windshield. It will allow the coatings to bond to the windshield better.
I think in the griots directions it says to apply a coat over the first coat
FAB Automotive Detailing thanks for the quick reply’s man 👍🏽
Emmanuel Selvas You are welcome! I enjoy interacting with my viewers and helping when I can.
I like to super clean the windows then apply wax (banana magic) to the windows just like on paint and it works just like rain-x. Then use news paper to get rid of all the streaks.
Dillon Collins I usually use a paint sealant on glass but wanted to try something new. Paint waxes or sealant do work good on glass.
Rainx does have an oily residue that makes it hard to wipe off streak free.
It would great to see the test while driving down the road and using the go pro. You could get someone to drive in front of you with a garden sprayer to mimic the water test.
David Seng I am hoping to get some video on that this week when it rains.
Key would be which stays longer on the glass. Rainx works incredible but I can see it diminish is about 1 week of steady rain.
Wonder how they do with road grime. My car is low so curious. Also do you have to clay or optional if it's a must I surely will hunt some down
Was curious of the longevity of each product.
Joseph Magdos I just released a 1 week update video. I’m thinking a couple months on both products.
Both seem to be identical. I guess 1-3 month out follow up video would tell the tale.
Excellent review FAB! Yeah, they both look about equal to me. I guess the winner would be decided based on longevity. The Griots Glass Sealant I ordered came in a few days ago. Cant wait to see how it performs... 👍
@POF415
I know that's right!
I add the Rain X washer deicer fluid to my Sienna, and it performs fairly well, one thing to note is that you must keep the windshield clean for any of these products to work properly. Summers are a little easier here in the mid Atlantic/ northeast. Thanks
Yes preparation is key on glass!
Does Griot's leave a film on the windshield like Rain X. Driving into sunlight rain x window has a terrible haze.
No it doesn’t leave a film like Rain-X does.
Thanks! Griots last about 4-6 months. I’ve heard good things about Aquapel
Could u do the water test again in 3 months and 6 months time to see how they lasted
wayne tyson I will do a 1 month update and see how they are holding up then go from there.
Anytime you want to cool the windshield down, spray it with cold water before you put it in the garage to clean it.
thank good demonstration on both products.
muster seeds Thank you and you are welcome
What is it with Hyundai's & the huge windshields lol.... I always say the windshield is the biggest part of my car 😁... Nice compression... I think the question will be how long they last compared to each other.... I use to love RainX till I had a huge streaking problem...Haven't used it since..
Katrina Georgia Girl They do have big windshields. Only time will tell on how long it lasts.
I used rainx along time ago and truly wasn't impressed by it. Yes, it's "cheap" but cheaper ain't always the best way to go. I'm leaning towards griots they both seem to do the job griots just did it alittle better. Thanks for the fab-ulous video.
Michael Campbell Both products are good and better then bare glass IMO. I thought they were very close. Thanks brother
Saw griots at the store and was tempted, I've been using Rain-x on all my cars since 1998
Ed D It’s at least worth trying just to see if you can get longer life out of it.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing those tiny rainx bottles dont last long so may give it a whirl
You had streaks where you pulled the griots into the rainex.
selador11 I applied the Griot’s first then the RainX.
Nice comparison video brother! I wonder how the life span will be between the two.
MeanBee392 Thank you! Time will tell how long it will last
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Any news?
Does adding this help with removing nasty bugs easier? Cause where i live i can clean the windshield and drive 5 mins and it looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years.
Do these product impede the wipers from working smoothly? Is it grabby or silky smooth when the the wipers move over the treated glass surface?
You : Hi neighbor can I borrow your car?
Neighbor : Huh? Why?
You : So I can clean it out.
Neighbor : Hell yeah!
Wish my neighbors would ask to clean my car!! Lol
Yeah I am running out of cars to apply a lot of these products to! 😂 I figured I would share with my neighbors.
You should mention the price of each product.
toneman335 Did you watch the video? It was at the 0:29 second mark of the video.
Thank you for sharing
You are welcome!
great video and thanks think ill buy the griots just cause of quantity and i can agree that from the inside griot did a better job , one question can i use the product without claying the glass abd why clay the glass ?thanks
Rlph580 delga Thank you! It’s the Same concept as paint when it comes to claying. If there are contaminates the sealant won’t bond to the glass as well as it would a contaminate free glass.
I used Rain-X on the mirrors of my semi and it worked good for the first day of rain. The second day of rain, it was gone and I had to reapply it.
Get Griots Glass Sealant you won’t be disappointed!
Did you use spray or the bottle in this video? The clean and bead rain X isnt nearly as good as the one he uses in this video.
After you wipe it off use a buffer on it, helps to get the rest off.
Randy R The wet towel worked great to remove the rest.
Do either of them help with water marks left the water dries after it rains?
Matthew L Unfortunately they do not help much with that.
Your neighbor has quite the air freshener tree collection on his mirror. 😂
Yes he does! 😆
What does the inside of your neighbors car smell like to have that many trees?
It wasn’t very strong. I think they were all wore out and he just kept adding to them instead of throwing them away. 🤣
@@FABAutomotiveDetailingI thought it was funny because it brought back a memory from childhood. My dad did the same in his farm truck. The smell came from what we stepped in though. 😂
Who would go streaking in the rain in the first place?
Tigerfire75 Oh man you have to try it, it’s an amazing feeling just don’t get caught! 😂
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Well if you know a good grease that doesn't wash off in the rain.
My luck I would be caught.
Tigerfire75 yeah me too! Haha
I'll be interested in the longevity of the Griot's Glass Sealant.
theplayernkc Thank you! I have heard good things about Aquapel!
Scott Haydin I have used RainX many times in the past and have no problem with it. I wanted to try a product I have never tried before. The alcohol in most washer fluids will definitely degrade any product.
