Not a fan of concrete, but the overall layout is workable with essentials being adequate. Nice to have a door separating the living and cooking/entry space. 👍
As someone who doesn't have many pairs of shoes i looked at the shoe cabanent and thought of all the other things that could be stored in the top half.
I like this one. I think 16 sqm to 18 sqm the size is perfect for me. But that is probably because this is the size of my first apartment. It was an unusual apartment because it was originally a dormitory. It was designed to just be a bedroom and bathroom, since the meals were served in the cafeteria. But then it was no longer part of the school campus, and the rooms were renovated into tiny apartments, having to also fit in a kitchen. I loved it because it was very quiet living alone. And it was too small for everyone to "hang out" at my place. Having such a small place was cozy, and I enjoyed my solitude. This apartment is a slightly larger and nicer version, so I can picture myself living here.
Well guess what? I liked the place ,concrete and all lol. I thought the entrance and kitchenette was nice but it was the bathroom for me 😊 It was comfortable and offered a quiet luxury for the small place. The main room was good and I was glad to see a closet. 😊😊😊
i think the concrete walls suit well how you see the electric lines from the window, i like the look. The bathroom with the washingmachine place inside it instead of randomly on hallway is also really really nice and its not too cramped. There's room for a wall shelf and tv too and maybe some plants by the window. I like it.
That‘s cheaper than my rent in my country. I would definately go for it. I think there is many more expensive apartments in Tokyo that are way less comvenient. For a micro apartment this is luxurious.
Hello Usui, I like this apartment. It's quirky shape and wall angles add character. While there isn't a lot of storage included, there is enough floor space left to add more. Definitely suitable for one person and a reasonable rent. 7.5/10
Hello Usui-san, thanks for sharing. The concrete ceiling and walls are a no-go for me, it would have looked brighter and less cell like with white washed walls and ceiling. Also the kitchen and bathroom are in the dark, there is only the window in the living room, and the light is not the best due to the high-rise building just in front. Too much concrete. Otherwise size and distribution of space seems nice. The toilet, apart from lacking natural light, it's quite good.
Yes, the shoe closet is narrow, but at least there is one. You just can't have ALOT of shoes. It always helps when they keep the utility spaces off from the living room. The kitchen area seems updated with space for a nice sized fridge. The bathroom spaces seem comfortable and not tight. Separating the shower/tub area from the toilet area helps with the spacing and there's good storage too. I like the wood floors. The ceiling and wall concrete can maybe covered with a little DYI project that can even personalize the apartment. Having a closet in the living room is always nice so you can have clothes and other items hidden away. It's a nice cozy apartment. *I always appreciate the showing of flowers/plants/trees in the area. I too do not like heights and would not want to climb down that ladder during an emergency. Great place!
Hello Usui-san. Thank you for uploading another video with what appears to be a rather fine example of a micro apartment! This one appears to be recently refurbished. There are some good parts concerning this dwelling. 1.The shoe cupboard, whilst tall and narrow, could be used for storing other items, such as kitchen implements. 2. The space between the kitchen area and the shoe cupboard, could possibly fit a refrigerator/freezer unit. Plus additional storage in the form of shelves could be installed. 3. The lavatory/wash basin area is very modern, with ample space for the coveted toilet paper storage. Where the washing machine could be installed, there is a wall mounted bracket where more shelving units are capable of being installed. Since the bath/shower area is small, those additional shelves could possibly hold more towels, as well as laundry supplies. The cabinet above the sink is enough for personal items. If not; the area below the sink can be utilized perhaps with storage from from IKEA or the Japanese equivalent! 4. The main living area is bright, with sunlight coming through the window, lighting up the room. So much could be done with the living area. The occupant is only limited by their imagination!
I like the concrete-wood combination, I like the flat, the living room division from the kitchen and bathroom area. I like the washing machine in the bathroom. This flat is beautiful and objectively well distributed. In general I like to see the houses, urban planning and architecture of your cities is an interest I have been cultivating for a long time. Thank you for this opportunity.
I actually kind of like this one. The kitchen and bathroom area is all on a side tangent line and then the bedroom itself has some really nice different lights on the ceiling and even though the view may not be the greatest, you got a nice big big window with a lot of light coming in. And by the way, I thought about this before, but I just now thought to add it into the comment for this apartment, I actually like the jazz music that you have going on in each video because it, somehow the music helps make it a nice and smooth and relaxing thing while you’re looking at the apartment. But there are some forms of slow jazz, and you have what I feel is more of like a nice positive slightly quicker version of jazz, which I like, and I feel fits with your videos because there’s supposed to be cute and fun and visually entertaining. I feel like this style of jazz music you play kind of goes along with the speed and flow of checking out each apartment.
Merhaba Usui, gerçekten kullanım alanı yeterli, saklama alanı olan hoş bir daire ❤ama beton duvarlar beni hep ürkütmüştür, tek sıkıntım bu olurdu sanırım 💚🌼
I'd put the bed next to Washing Machine wall and just deal with having a small space to walk around end of bed into other part of house then you could put the desk in front of the window. ❤Thanks for the upload!
Not a bad place. Couple of hooks at the entrance, mirror inside the shoe cabinet. Wonder if you could put a small hanging table on the wall near the kitchenette to have some prep space. Bonus for toilet paper storage. Couple of options for placing things, and could probably but in a small cabinet of drawers. This is good unit, and the price seems reasonable given location.
Had a pleasant surprise. A new video from our friend , Usui and Spiderman. Theres an apartment for everyone however, this isnt my favorite layout nor am i fan of concrete. It makes it feel to me that its unfinished.
Actually, this is a nice apartment. I’m not a fan of the raw concrete look, I wonder if it could be painted? The bathroom layout is very good, seems to have adequate storage along with the ability to dry your clothes. Your usable floor space works with a few furniture configurations. However, the rent seems a bit on the high side. You keep finding very good apartments, thank you for sharing!
The concrete is beautiful. Another closet next to the closet. Desk under the window. Sofabed where the bed is and TV and TV stand across fron the sofa. Low fridge for extra workspace and space above for storage.
I'm currently staying in a mini apartment in Tokyo, just for a few months. It is 30 minutes to Shinjuku. Although the house is very compact, it has many features to make it comfortable. The best is the Japanese style toilet and ventilator/ceiling dryer to dry your laundry when hanging outside is not possible. Urban planning is amazing too. So many shops selling essentials and affordable restaurants.
What a lovely little apartment. I'm wondering about the rules for apartments concerning putting holes in the walls. Is it possible to install shelves using screws or nails? If so, that little bump out in the kitchen right at the door would be a perfect little space for a small shelf. Add some nice posters and fairy lights and you have a spot perfect for morning tea and evening wine. I'd also take the door off of the shoe cabinet and use one shelf for dropping off keys, mail and such. Add a small lamp and bowl of mints, and also prop up a mirror if there's room. Cover the other shelves with tidy curtains. This apartment offers so much! Thanks for finding this one for us!
Eu sempre me pergunto....por que gosto tanto de assistir estes vídeos se não estou interessado em um micro ap? Acho que é por que me acalma... Parabêns, muito bom.
I would have a desk along the whole window area. a slim bed, 70-80cm with same placement, underneath desk (you can sleep and have your feet underneath the desk. office chair beside the bed in front of the desk. In front of bed on the recessed wall I would have a TV and video game corner. :) I could live happily like that.
Hello Usiu-san. Another great small apartment. Do we all cheer with you when there is toilet paper storage? Honestly it's the first thing I look for now. Can you find a fridge narrow enough to fit in that space? I like there is a tub, even if it is a small one. The floors are also very nice. I'm not sure about the view and living so close to a hydro transfer.
I like this one. Separating the kitchen and bathroom area from the living space makes it feel (to me) more like an apartment rather than a "bedsit". However I am UK so that could just be my view...lol
Apartment Cat and I have looked at many micro apartments via your channel. We have questions: how was the land used before they built these apartments on that location? are there maximum housing density laws? what percentage of new micro apartments are built from concrete? what's the historical evolution of micro apartments? what percentage of new housing in Tokyo are micro apartments? Have you done any statistical analysis? I'm a graduate student and Apartment Cat is curious so we have questions. 😄
This unit does a great job of utilizing the space while keeping it easy and desirable to live in! If you were still apartment hunting this would be my pick!
Hello, Usui-san, and summer greetings to beautiful Tokyo-to. The apartment is modern and contemporary, the toilet and bathroom are very generously sized. But the mirror in the bathroom is set much too low and the cold gray concrete walls and ceilings don't match the laminate in the living room and the other beautiful white walls at all. And a tip for your fear of heights. Go to the upper platform of the Skytree and your fear of heights will never bother you again, dear friend Usui-san. 😊 And by the way, the rent is a littke bit too high.
A lovely apartment, not too expensive, all I would do is swap your bed and desk around so you can look out the window while you are working. Very nice!
Nice apartment. Concrete ceiling and walls is probably a good thing. It should make the apartment quite from neighbors. Gives it an industrial look. The track lights and wood floors gives it a homey feeling. Looks like a nice neighborhood. Would the ladder actually reach 3 floors down or reduce your fall by 1 floor?
This is a fairly nice apartment, although I don't like the concrete and I think the rent is too high. The thing that would scare me away, however, is that power transformer right outside the window. Have you ever seen one of those explode? I have! Terrifying. If fire spreads and the electric wires go down, that escape ladder would be worse than useless. Even at half the rent, I would NOT live in this place.
I like floors but would not like concrete walls and ceiling But for size not bad for a small apartment The use of storage could be different from the original plan It is new and convenient in many ways A good apartment for one person Thanks for sharing the video Take, care and see you in next video ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Usui! This micro apartment is very nice: it's divided in two parts so the living / bedroom area is a real living area to live and the whole flat is well equiped.... Thumb up!🎉
This one is pretty good! In addition to the admirable toilet paper storage, it has that door separating the kitchen and bathroom from the main living space, unfrosted windows (ok, the view isn't great), closet with a door, enough space for a bed and a desk & chair, and a good location. It also has my absolutely favorite feature, that drying rack over the kitchen sink!
En ese espacio tan pequeño no cabe un refrigerador...solo el pequeñito que alguna vez te compraste y que regalaste por ruidoso y por el foquito que no te dejaba dormir 😁
I like this one, my only concern would be the escape in the event of fire - quite apart from your fear of heights, would all those power cables be an issue for climbing out the window? Other than that, for such a small apartment, the layout seems excellent, there is space for a bedside cabinet for instance, and if you put the desk on the other side, you could even have space for a comfy chair to watch the TV!
I don't like them. They are part of an aesthetic that allows landlords and interior designers to sell unfinished products for full price because it is "trendy" and "charming" and "natural". It is cold and lacks intimacy. I'm not young though, I'm nearly 40 (and from the Netherlands).
Many years ago we rented a hotel room that advertised it had a kitchenette. It was not so different from this kitchen area, a tiny sink and single burner to cook on, but the food prep area was a fold-down countertop. I could see mounting something like that in the refrigerator recess to swing down over the fridge. I loved the bath room, too, although I had to laugh that there seems to have been more consideration given to doing laundry (2 places to dry clothes) than to cooking or eating.
You could put a day bed instead of just a regular bed, so it can feel more like a living room. Where does the TV go? Concrete walls mean no art, so textiles on the bed, desk, curtains, etc can add color.
Nice, I like the bathroom and the fact that it has a bathtub. Not many small apartments have that. But I would never ever put my knives in the same storage as the garbage bin.
This one was very interesting to me, as I either loved or extremely disliked parts. The washbasin looked claustrophobic, while the shower room was very nice; the kitchen had a nice big sink, but no counter space. I don't care for concrete looks, but I expect it's good insulation? The bedroom space was lovely, I need windows and light, and all that toilet paper storage 🎉🎉🎉🎉😅
The concrete looks good, the place is pretty big though Id prefer I got a little extra bench space if Im getting so much room anyways though as I like to cook.
An interesting apartment with separations (doors). The combination of clear parquet and concrete is surprising but pretty. Too bad for the kitchen entrance: too much the impression of being in a corridor. But storage even for toilet paper 😂and not too expensive for new, and it’s bright 👍🌞
Not too bad, even with the narrow entry hallway it gives it a much bigger feel. Good to see a window that does not have that frosted film on it. No, I am not a fan of bare concrete, just looks unfinished, even a coat of paint on it would be an improvement. And I'd have to take a grinding stone to smooth up the corner in the bathroom a bit, that corner is just waiting to rip an arm open, or tear a knuckle open when reaching for a towel. Why is the mirror so low in the bath room? I can think of a few things that would probably not be appropriate for the comments. =-) Could I live here? You bet. I do like the general layout and size.
I love this apartment. Is the internet wifi or wired? And most importantly, do you think a washer will fit through the bathroom door and over the toilet to get to its spot? Thank you for another wonderful video!
Hello Usui, to answer your question about concrete ceilings I do like the look but I don't think they go with apartment building vibes. Perhaps they might be better in a themed hotel.
It's not too bad for a 3rd floor apartment. Odd wall again but not too extreme and everything has a place to go without taking up space. A fairly decent rent and 10 minutes from all your amenities. I'm not partial to the cement ceiling but it may help keep things cooler in warm weather. I am sorry the view out the window is of power lines 😐. Oh well! It works and it nice otherwise.🙂
Great Micro Apt ..You Know You Can have Your Guests Leave The Shoes Out Side The Door And Use The Show Storage For Some thing Else Because There Is Not Enough Storage Space To Put Your Pots And Pans And Dishes. And Can foods And All. like I Say I Like all Your Micro Apts In Japan. I Can Deal With A Small Place .Some Prices Way Too High For Me. Under 500.00 Is Just Right. I like the Lofts Too But When You In A Wheel chair Or Crutches. Not Good. Oh Btw Do You Have Micro Apts With Ramps For The Disable And Handicap? I noticed Since I Seen Your Videos. There Is None. Japan Soooo CooL. Good Rent Also. Tyvvm In Showing Us This. Tyvvm 😊🎉
You are my favorite RUclips channel. By the way I think you have a career as a hand model. Your talented hands have pointed to and shown all the great features of the apartments on your channel that we’ve gotten to know both hands very well. Overall I particularly like this apartment. It’s still simple with extra space for storage and a larger bathroom.
Thank you for sharing! I always love when you show places. 💙 Lol I have to laugh at the lock on the bathroom door. I suppose if you didn't lock it and you are sitting on the toilet a Ninja might sneek in and you would get hit in the knees from the door. The apartment is so small I doubt more than one person would live there so not sure why you would need a lock lol. Just my opinion but it did make me laugh a little 😊
I'm always bemused by the presence of nice knife storage in the cabinet and the absence of any counter space to use knives on.
Your comment made me realize this as well. Indeed, many knives are not necessary for this kitchen. 😅
Thank you for answering @usui503.
I had this exact thought!
You get a big cutting board to put over the sink, thats what I've seen people that live in micro appartments do.
In this apartment, you could get a half sized fridge and prepare food on it
I love how you have made it your mission to reset every water heater in the country to 40 degrees.
😂
Not a fan of concrete, but the overall layout is workable with essentials being adequate. Nice to have a door separating the living and cooking/entry space. 👍
I live in a concrete apartment. The isolation is good during winter, and I hardly hear noise from my neighbours.
This is a nice micro apartment with a relatively large toilet and bath space. It fits a bed, desk with chair and a refrigerator too.
As someone who doesn't have many pairs of shoes i looked at the shoe cabanent and thought of all the other things that could be stored in the top half.

It never ceases to amaze me how in most Japanese apartments the toilet/bathroom space is bigger than the kitchen 😭
Well guess what? I liked the place ,concrete and all lol. I thought the entrance and kitchenette was nice but it was the bathroom for me 😊 It was comfortable and offered a quiet luxury for the small place. The main room was good and I was glad to see a closet. 😊😊😊
I really liked this. More storage space than most others.

Hello Usui, I like this apartment. It's quirky shape and wall angles add character. While there isn't a lot of storage included, there is enough floor space left to add more. Definitely suitable for one person and a reasonable rent. 7.5/10
I really like your show. Showing the all tiny/micro appartements in Japan 🙂
Good apartment. Spacious. Kitchen and bathroom separated from the living space. Very nice! Could live there 😀

One could put some hooks on the entry wall for coats, bags, etc.

This one is very nice. I like the layout and that the washing machine is not in the main room.
it's great! the bathroom is all-in-one and the shoe storage is i guess one where u have to place the shoes sideways.

This ladder is 10 meters long. In other words, it can reach up to the third floor.🪜
I find it odd that all these small spaces use interior doors that swing open ... shoji type doors would be much more appropriate .
This is a fairly nice apartment, although I don't like the concrete and I think the rent is too high. The thing that would scare me away, however, is that power transformer right outside the window. Have you ever seen one of those explode? I have! Terrifying. If fire spreads and the electric wires go down, that escape ladder would be worse than useless. i totally agaree, there's so many issues with having that power transformer so close--this is the deal breaker IMO!
I like floors but would not like concrete walls and ceiling
But for size not bad for a small apartment
The use of storage could be different from the original plan
It is new and convenient in many ways
A good apartment for one person
Thanks for sharing the video
Take, care and see you in next video ❤❤❤❤❤
Usui thank you for the heart ❤️
Nice, apartement baru lagi.
Hi Usui! This micro apartment is very nice: it's divided in two parts so the living / bedroom area is a real living area to live and the whole flat is well equiped.... Thumb up!🎉

Do you like concrete ceilings?
Many young people in Japan think concrete ceilings are cool.😅
They are cool
brutalist/modern minimalist architecture is only cool to those who know.
I don't like them. They are part of an aesthetic that allows landlords and interior designers to sell unfinished products for full price because it is "trendy" and "charming" and "natural". It is cold and lacks intimacy. I'm not young though, I'm nearly 40 (and from the Netherlands).
i like them!!
It's 👍
This is a reasonable occupiable and priced flat.
Thank you for the video. Looking forward to our next videa. 🍀
너무 맘에 듭니다😊제가 꿈꾸는 공간입니다.월세도 좋네요😊
I love that they have a tub.
It is actually quite nice and there easily could be workarounds for lack of kitchen counter! I love the bath room!
I like this apartment very much. You can do without the door into the bedroom / living space.
You could put a day bed instead of just a regular bed, so it can feel more like a living room. Where does the TV go? Concrete walls mean no art, so textiles on the bed, desk, curtains, etc can add color.
The bathroom seems huge. You can live in there.
This micro apartment looks so nice! I rly could see myself staying there
Nice, I like the bathroom and the fact that it has a bathtub. Not many small apartments have that.
But I would never ever put my knives in the same storage as the garbage bin.
Very nice bathroom on this one. Good apartment except for the concrete walls.
I could and SO would live there.
This is a nice micro apartment. It fits a bath space and a big bed.
Not a bad layout 😊 too tight for me 🫨
This one was very interesting to me, as I either loved or extremely disliked parts.
Nice and compact 👌
The concrete looks good, the place is pretty big though Id prefer I got a little extra bench space if Im getting so much room anyways though as I like to cook.
An interesting apartment with separations (doors). The combination of clear parquet and concrete is surprising but pretty.
Too bad for the kitchen entrance: too much the impression of being in a corridor.
But storage even for toilet paper 😂and not too expensive for new, and it’s bright 👍🌞
Hi Usui, very nice micro. Like the industrial looks. The monthly payment isn’t bad at all.
I like the light in this one. How do people hang artwork/mirrors/shelves on concrete walls, though?
Command hooks or their equivalent.
It's nice and simple, an 80s asthetic. I like it. 👍
Very nice apartment, I dont like the industrial concrete vibe but overall, the layout was great. Kind of expensive though. Thanks 💖💖💖
Could I live here? You bet. I do like the general layout and size.
I love this apartment. Is the internet wifi or wired? And most importantly, do you think a washer will fit through the bathroom door and over the toilet to get to its spot? Thank you for another wonderful video!
You're my new favourite apartment channel.
Such a wholesome king.
Hello Usui, to answer your question about concrete ceilings I do like the look but I don't think they go with apartment building vibes. Perhaps they might be better in a themed hotel.
Love this one!
We missed your visits! Although this one has some nice advantages, I don't like it. Sight 😬 and the absence of light 😅....no no no
Mieszkanie jest całkiem w porządku - spory pokój, wygodna łazienka. Tylko ten słup elektryczny za oknem trochę mnie przeraża...
Good use of space.
Saya sudah menunggu lama untuk video baru..tapi ternyata baru 2pekan
Terima kasih atas komentarnya dari Indonesia! 🥰
Maafkan saya atas keterlambatan dalam mengunggah video.🙏
I would get a sofa and a
Low table and a seat to have friends.
I really like it.thank you for showing it.
Pretty nice place, though I'm in agreement over going out the window.
I have been waiting for a new video. Thank you!!! Like this one!!
I Can Deal With A Small Place
.Some Prices Way Too High For Me.
Thank you always for your wonderful comments. I also love this apartment.🥰
I really like the concrete. It gives the space an attractive, unique look. I'll take it! 😂
I wish. 😊
I just wish it didn't have so many weird angles so you could try different bed placements
Thank you for sharing! I always love when you show places. 💙
Lol I have to laugh at the lock on the bathroom door. I suppose if you didn't lock it and you are sitting on the toilet a Ninja might sneek in and you would get hit in the knees from the door.
The apartment is so small I doubt more than one person would live there so not sure why you would need a lock lol. Just my opinion but it did make me laugh a little 😊
