Good day, Sir! May I ask if we bunker in new FO having different characteristics such as Density , are we advised to shut it down and change the gravity disk measurement in order to accommodate the nomogram which is an additional reason of shutting it down, Sir? Thank you sir
My apologies for responding late, yes it is highly recommended to replace the gravity disc corresponding to the new fuel's characteristics.
Nasa sequence naman sya na mag aautomatic discharge sya kapag inistop, wala din namang masama kung imanually discharge kasi saglit lang namang oras mawawala sayo at pars malinis na malinis talaga bago baklasin hahaa pero depende nalang yan sa operator. Pero ako minamanually discharge ko kung normal naman yung takbo at for maintenance sya pero kung halimbawa eh may alarm like sludge in bowl etc or bowl not closing eh talagang nirerekta stop kona

It's okay, but it is recommended to also secure the sludge discharge valve. In some cases, when restarting the purifier, the operator forgets to open the sludge discharge valve because when it was secured it is closed. It depends on the operator really, but in my opinion, I prefer to close it.

My Korean Officers said no need to manual discharge. Hence it wil discharge on its on own during auto stop. Same with my experience sa Indian Officers.
Sa Pinoy officers naman on my last ship, manual discharge is a must. Pag sinabihan mo naman na why bakit, as per manual ganto. kahit in kindest way mo pa e explain. Ikaw lang mayayari kasi andami mong alam. Ngek2. 😂.
Mismo! So play safe nalang tayo at makinig, hindi naman unsafe yung pinapagawa and based din naman sa experience nila. 5 mins lang naman halos mawawala satin haha!
