Purifier Starting and Stopping Procedure

I am showing you how to start and stop the HFO purifier on our vessel. A high-speed centrifuge is a type of separator which is used on a ship to remove contamination from liquids such as fuel and lube oils. It is imperative to carry out this treatment in order to remove solid impurities and water before they are supplied to the marine engine. Thus, the task of the centrifuge is to remove solid contamination from liquid and to remove undesirable liquid (water) from useful liquids (fuel).

As per my understanding, I feel 4th should have opened the valve to the service tank first in order to line up the system and then could have started the purifier.

Great video. Good explanation. But in guess that first we should open the steam for the heater, to then start the HFO supply pp, and the pressure , generally around 0.140, and also regulating the Feed Oil in the by-pass vv before. Tks for the video.

Nice vid but not all the purifiers have the same procedure. For example steam heater , you need to open hfo in and out and also steam in and condensate out... also you have to adjust manually the flow control and the backpressure as well. The purifier plant on your vessel is almost automatic. Thank you.
