I jsut dont see any benefit/improvement to having a soft sling attachment? I dont see how its better that the device sits right on top of your hitch as you ascend? Time will tell. It looks like you could get a torx and fit a stiff tether to it above the 'hard' friction setting. Kevin bingham started with a soft sling tether and imoproved it by using a stiff tether. This feels like going backwards The ISC apex is a big improvement in my opinion. The lower friction for ascent has made my system self tend way better than before and i like having less friction than the original wrench for limb walks and its great to up the friction for long descents Thanks for the video!
Awesome comment and lots of knowledge thanks for the comment. I have used it already and it’s amazing on the ascent as there is zero friction from the device. They recommend you use a catalyst knot which I understand why as your hitch ready does need to grab as the device does not engage right away. I will do another vid with just movement and working with it but might take a bit of time before I can give an option on it. At the moment the soft tether is not bothering me which I thought it would have. Thanks again 👍🏻
As it has been a few months now since you've got this, have you used it a lot? What's the 'long term' review? Do you find yourself taking this over the rope wrench?
@@Meloen5 I will prob have to make another vid. But yes I believe for work it’s an improvement over the wrench. I know FTC are making alterations to the length of the eye to eye but I’m not sure if that has been already changed or not
I’m not sure it’s just a bulky rope wrench. Having the cam with the spring is completely different to the rope wrench but time will tell if it’s better or not
Interesting device, will be cool to see how its compares in a work situation to the original wrench.
Ye tried it today and felt nice. Zero friction on the ascent. Need a bigger tree tho to fully test it out

Agreed

@@mickarblife what's the dimensions of the eye to eye now? 8mm 65cm? I can't seem to find it...
EDIT: I just found it :p
8mm 72cm
Does it say anything about certain ropes regarding the CE approvement? Like the akimbo for example..
Nice review!
Nope any rope between 11.5mm and 12.5mm 👍🏻 you do have to use the catalyst knot tho and there 72cm eye to eye for it to be fully CE
Yes, you made that clear ;-)
Very cool, thanks!
Nice review!
Although, this is just a bulky adjustable rope wrench..
this device may work better as a rigging rope wrench.. like the one sold by ISC

Honey brothers far to expensive you can always buy cheaper else where
There is a code Seanhc or Mollyhc for 10% off. But yes lots of other shops to buy from 👍🏻
That thing looks ugly as hell
You think? I don’t mind how it looks at all. Little bugger than the wrench but looks solid and well made
@@mickarblife well in my opinion the wrench just looks better and it does the job pretty well
