Everything always looks good on the Anthracite, and even though you said to go lite pigment load on the darker colors I think the black had a nice color shift could really see the blue stand out.
Stunning, especially that really unique lavender color it often shifts to. Not personally my thing, but I'd love to see it on the road. It looked fantastic over white and anthracite too.
That’s funny. Since I’ve been watching this channel, I catch myself looking at paint jobs on cars. No matter how nice the car is, the paint is usually a stock boring color. Rarely I’ll see a pearl effect but I’m guessing that’s stock as well. Never seen a hypershift paint job in the wild though. I’ll keep looking. I too liked this over anthracite and even black.
@@Woodstock271 I have exactly once, before I knew this type of paint job existed. It was really different and I was glad I wasn't driving at the time so I could keep staring at it.
@@SharmClucas , That’s cool. As a kid in the 70’s we were into muscle cars. Nova, Camero, Chevelle, SS Chevy’s. Back then it was about candy colors and crazy huge metal flake. Racing stripes. Velocity stacks and tunnel rams. I only saw a pearl white car once. In the street lights it would have a rainbow effect. But this was the 70’s, and I haven’t seen a crazy paint job since. I think it’s because people don’t care anymore like we did. We take a rusty junk car and turn it into a race car. These days, people look at the price and say, “I’ll take the blue one.” And they drive it but don’t do anything to it, because with modern cars, there’s not much you need to do. That wasn’t the case in my day. Everyone was a mechanic. You had to be. Anyway, this channel is so fun and I’m still looking for just a street car with a paint job like these guys do. So far, no luck.
@@Woodstock271 That sounds so cool. I was always a bit of a tomboy and my brothers are the intellectual types so I was the one that would fix cars with Dad even though I have three brothers. I'm not a huge car person but I know how to fix a few minor issues and appreciate a car with sleek lines and a nice paint job. I've often wished I knew how to do more, and it frustrates me how complicated cars have gotten. I'm an 80's kid, and I agree; modern paint jobs are super boring. Luckily there seems to be a bunch of car people living around here, so I get to see nice classics and relatively wild paint jobs (like purple) from time to time. Someday I want to do one of these fancy paint jobs myself, but there always seems to be something more important to spend money on first.
@@SharmClucas , That’s so neat. I have just one sister but no brothers and got into building race cars with my friends and the car club we were in. And late at night I’d be in the garage working on my 72’ Chevelle and my little sister wanted to help. I actually needed her help because when you are fishing wires through the firewall, it’s easier if you have two people. And she saw what I was building and wanted to be part of it. Since dad left and I was “man of the house” now, I wanted her to be my partner on this project. She was lost at first but I assured her that I needed her. “Because I’m going to do a couple things on this car that are a secret. I don’t want my friends knowing exactly what I’m doing, okay? This is not my car, it’s ours. So don’t go telling them how I got nitros oxide okay?” So Lisa was my partner on this car and she did great as an assistant mechanic. She grew up with her older brother and didn’t mind getting dirty and greasy. She wasn’t a “girly girl”, she grew up tough. And, she picked the paint job. Car paint in those days was limited. You had boring primary colors and candy colors that were twice the price. So she picked Royal Blue metal flake. I’m not a painter but I got a good deal on the paint job. Everything was about trading skills back then. The car finisher needed transmission work on his car so I did that while he painted mine and Lisa’s car. Royal blue metal flake with two white racing stripes down the hood and trunk. It was bad-ass. My original intent was to build a “sleeper” I could enter in quarter mile races. No paint job, ugly and unassuming but a monster lurks under the hood. Lots of people did that. But Lisa wanted it to look really pretty. She cost me thousands of dollars but so well worth it, I regret nothing. It wasn’t just a race car now, it was a show car. You can’t show off a rusty sleeper, you only trick people with those. But yeah, I agree that modern cars all computerized and such, are a nightmare to work on. Open the hood and it looks like a big computer chip. Where do you start? So I do the simple things on cars these days but have no interest in doing silly diagnostics on parts that are designed to fail in the first place. It pisses me off.
Wow! 5/5 Blush Desert Rainbow. One of the coolest effects I’ve seen that you have done. I'm always amazed at the end result and never really know what to expect.
The iridescense is outstanding, this is a 5 of 5 for me and it works well on nearly all the base colors on your speed shells including white and black base colors. Awesome !
I love Gabe's reaction. I agree with him too. I love it! 5 out of 5 definitely. Once again, I think anthracite steals the show with the speed shapes, but white and intense teal are closed runners up.
Wow. Solarized and sherbetized all in one. This is crazy fun for someone that wants noticed! I can't say which part I like more, the extreme angle colors or the head on. The effect is there and yet it isn't. This is a 5/5 for sure! I'm splitting my sides laughing at how happy it feels seeing this. Even on the speed shapes, the color shifting wins. It's not fully hidden even when the bases are in the shifting range of the ZGA. I'm hyped about the white one, to be honest and the overall effort didn't come out cloudy or speckly. They all worked with interesting combinations that just draw your eye to it.
oh wow, that's stunning! ngl, i didn't think i'd care for it with that base color, but the effect changes it to top tier imo. anthracite and black look nice too, but i think the color you chose was really the perfect one, based off the speed shapes.
I'm always screaming more more more, brighter, crazier, louder.......but this is the first one where I could really see myself using something not crazy bright. The shift stands on its own 2 feet and the base color is classy and understated. Absolutely love it.
I am still pretty new to car paints and their effects. The shift on that car is CRAZY!! I dont think i really understood hypershifts before this one, its not my fave but still stunning and very trippy. 4 for me.
That’s wild! It’s almost like the car has a filter!! 6 out of 5 because this thing has so much contrast and depth in the flip. Took that tan to a whole other level 👌🏼
My favorite since black to blue or purple. This is the only non- black color I absolutely love! Added to the short list of consideration desert tan with ZGA. (Repeating it so it makes its way into my long term memory). Cheers!
Shockingly BETTER than I expected... super duper 4.5 for this hue...But that Black base was awesome - I want to see that pigment load on a black base Audi...
It looks great on about every color. Some colors like black and anthracite are kind wild while white and blue are a little more subtle. But that anthracite combo is fkn awesome 👌
Just wow, popped when you opened it up. Even before you started. When it's on this car. Made it pop even more. Big 5. Yeah gonna look into getting this kit. But should kinda get acar first. Hahaha
One of the best you've ever done, 5/5 or maybe a 4.9/5, I'm just not sure the tan base contributed much. Would love to see the full car with this with the Anthracite base, or maybe halfway between that and white.
5/5 on the car, gotta go with my favorite speedshape anthracite again, also the hunter Green was nice too....I'd love to see a full scale anthracite experiment 1 day 😊
Thought it was too subtle over the desert tan. Very nice over black, but a lot of sparkle - is that from the high pigment load, or because the pearl had a sparkle to it anyway? Anthracite always does something crazy - hoping to see a crazy shift over anthracite on a full size car one day 🙏🙏🙏
*Thoughts ?!?*
Naaa Sorry did not rock my boat at all...
You really need a truck or SUV to do these on. This would be great for a sweet Jeep or Bronco. Not loving it on a car
Meh 2/5
10/10 I love this one
Why don't you focus on colors people would actually do
I'd love to see ZGA over an oily-bronze or copper-patina base. Subtle, mature drabs, mutes, pastels and achromatic colors are underrated.
I second this.
Sandstorm Sparkle. Very cool effect and result!!!
Would love to see this on a Toyota land cruiser!
Everything always looks good on the Anthracite, and even though you said to go lite pigment load on the darker colors I think the black had a nice color shift could really see the blue stand out.
I agree. Most everything over the Anthracite base looks great. And I think this one's better on black than tan.
@@scottsuhre2514 but better on anthracite than black, IMPO.

Just bought it! Getting the desert mirage put on my car so psyched! 🎉
Wow!!! That added so much depth to the color.
And that combination really gave the contour a subtle aggressiveness that I really enjoy.

See ZGA HyperShift over different base colors at the end.. which one do you think looks the best?
Anthracite and black seem to do the ZGA justice the best.
Anthracite and supermarine and black
Anthracite... it's always anthracite 😊
But, black base was a close second for me 👍
Black was surprisingly good.
Black 👍
Desert Mirage , 10/10 wow
Definitely a 4 to 4.5. Tan cars aren’t usually my favorite, but this one is beautiful. I would call the color “Mirage”.
I need to see ZGA over various pastel colors!! Omg. A pastel lilac or pink base would probably go crazy!
5+++ Dessert Tan is the best basecolor for this insane Effekt!!! I love IT!!!
I like it, under the radar but very subtle. I like that it doesn’t scream at you and is very easy on the eyes. Well done.
4.5… and it’s not very often to see Gabe so calm hearing 25gr/gallon :)
😅
This color combo goes absolutely crazy. Well played.

Definitely not
You're going more and more nuts with your projects, and I'm here for it.
I love it!!!! And I also like it over the intense teal and anthracite. And as much as I do not like pink, it may look.good over it, or a peachy coral
This is a great combo. Definitely a 5 for me. The shifts were beautiful. The anthracite looked the best of the samples.
Desert borealis! Looks incredible, its both subtle but eye-catching and something that will still look tasteful especially on an overcast day!
That's awesome! Fire and Ice... the way the colors shift is just jaw dropping! 5!!!
OMG! This is the most beautiful I've ever seen! Over the white is beautiful! ❤❤ I love how the showed a pink shift!
This is one of the most awesome combos I've seen and I watch every Friday!! Nicely done!!
wow you can see every color at every angle!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤️this might be my favorite!!!!!!!!!

Show stopping! Absolutely stunning results! Spectral at first glance, but WOW!
Stunning end result...❤... I love the White, Anthracite and especially over the Black base 😍
Man it really comes alive on the anthracite and ups the ante on the black! Stunning! 5/5.
That’s wild! It’s almost like the car has a filter!! 6 out of 5 because this thing has so much contrast and depth in the flip. Took that tan to a whole other level 👌🏼
This one is a 6/5, it's just amazing. The black was next level, just wow. I would love to see a full car in black.
That is gorgeous! Love how bright and beautiful it is! 5!
Unicorn Ivory!!! Excellent kit! Can't wait to see the next one!
My favorite since black to blue or purple. This is the only non- black color I absolutely love! Added to the short list of consideration desert tan with ZGA. (Repeating it so it makes its way into my long term memory). Cheers!
It almost looks like a natural pearl, just beautiful.
Intense Teal was my favorite. Great video. Thanks for posting!
Base is great and has lots of interesting action and color flashes. WINNER!
Nailed it that’s by far my favourite to date. Knocked it out of the park.
This is one of your top 5 you have done, great job guys
Shockingly BETTER than I expected... super duper 4.5 for this hue...But that Black base was awesome - I want to see that pigment load on a black base Audi...
It looks great! The base coat is still visible. The green and blue highlights are fantastic 5.
My favourite of all you have done! What a transformation
Thats a 10! One of my favorites I have seen you do.
It looks cool. I really like what it looked like over the red base.
white black and anthracite are nice.
I liked the color pop! 5. I liked what it did to the red, hunter green and anthracite bases. good video gentlemen. Continued success.
Wow that is awesome!
Never would have thought tan could be so eye catching!
5 out of 5 - One of the best color shifts/flips yet!!
Looks like an opal to me. Awesome
LOVED IT!!! I was seriously impressed with Gabe’s confidence in it too, great job fellas! Easy 5
That is VERY unique. Did not expect to like it but it looks great!
This is beautiful I didn't expect it to be so pretty!
ZGA in the mixing beaker looks like liquid opal.
Very pretty. I like the final product too.
That combo is 5/5 in my book. A real attention getter! Like the Supermarine,Anthracite, White, and the best of the lot...Black base.
I am SO happy to see you finally do a lighter shade! It's the pastel I was hoping for all along. Absolutely 5/5. Hell, 6/5.
Definitely a 5.. Love the tan and even the black base.
You guys nailed it! Black base was nice, but over desert tan, so many colors pop. 5
As soon as I seen the finished product I was just like ooohh lol you basically turned this car into a pearl on wheels. 5/5
Wow this is incredible and so different! The shift almost looks like it’s glowing 5!
Reminds me of carnival glass. Color transition is SMOOTH! Pretty rad.
It’s a definite 5 love the effect and final colors.
Lumeniscent Pearl shade comes to mind awesome blended
I would love to see what this looks like over a yellow base. This hits different and i love it!
Absolutely by far one of my favorites
That's a 55 of 5. The shift with also preserving the tan base is absolutely amazing.
You nailed it. 5/5 - looked better in overcast. On white was my favorite.
This is one of my favorites! love the look!
Its a 5, so many colors pop out in any angle. Looks great.
It looks great on about every color. Some colors like black and anthracite are kind wild while white and blue are a little more subtle. But that anthracite combo is fkn awesome 👌
Woah! This looked good on white, it showed all the colors on that.
Wow Iam speechless!!! That blows me away. 5 out of 5!!!
I notice you always spritz something on the top when you pour from the larger mixing container back to the gallon (2:50 in this vid) What is that?
It's probably Naptha to get rid of the bubbles for a better view of the swirling paint in the mixing can
Stunning. 5/5
Now this is a 5,,,I do like it a ton,,,,nice job....keep up the fantastic videos
It really shines the best of that desert tan. Looks good on black and anthracite too imo. 5/5
The colour was amazing. Blue to green shift was fantastic. It looked best over the anthracite and black bases . 4.5/5
Absolutely awesome hypershift
Love the colour combination
Sometimes when you are spraying I don't see any or little effect maybe a colour change but with this combo immediate results
Wow one of the best yet. 10 out of 5 😮👌
Definitely a 5, for me, one of the best combinations I’ve ever seen on the channel.
Absolutely wicked! Solid 5. Would like to see it in the Anthracite base or the black base.
One of my very favorite of the lighter color schemes ❤
PLEASE do it again in black, desert tan looked good but over black looked gorgeous!!
