To me this is the best machine alternative to squatting. You do the exact same movement as a squat but you don’t have to load the spine to do it. It can allow people with back issues to continue squatting.
I gave low bar a chance and it ended squats for me for the year. I'm sure there's a very good reason that lies in what I did individually, instead of the style of squatting itself, that will completely explain why I got snapped up.
Don't expect to get it anytime soon. Paid for a strongman log August 2017 from beast metals and still have not received it(March 6th 2018). I was supposed to have it September of 2017.
Blsir Mitchell I've heard a lot of similar story's from people who bought from beast metals. The guy who owns it is a dipshit. You should ask for a refund and take your money to rogue.
Not entirely sure. Discomfort in right shoulder during any flat press, especially around half way on up benching(even with elbows tucked. I can do weighted dips and bodyweight pushups, no problem. Limited shoulder mobility, literally impossible to get into a low bar squat position or overhead squat due to tight shoulders. I can high-bar squat however. I'm thinking impingement and rotator cuff issues. I have had "tight" shoulders for years but the right shoulder pain during pressing began after a couple months of using the Slingshot during bench. Getting looked at soon.
I have never had trouble with the shoulders but I have had trouble with my right hip so I feel empathy for you because there is nothing worse than an injury or problem holding you back. I strongly recommend a Chiropractor and in the mean time work on full mobility. My right hip was due to tight Glute's which was also causing me issues with my left IT band but my chiropractor treated me and showed me how to do the right stretching and mobility work and now the right hip is a thing of the past.
yea I was thinking about getting the rhino belt squat plus rack..the rack it's 24" but it looks like there is only about 4-5 inches of space from the front uprights ato the rhino platform on floor..i don't see how I can do incline, decline using a bench outside of rack? Right now I have a prx wall rack and when I do decline and incline bench I have to move the bench back about 13 inches so I can bench..I don't think I will be able to bench outside this rack with rhino built in to it:( I emailed rogue and they said that not even the 30" rack will work with a bench outside since it only has about 6-9 inches of space in the front:( so I don't know what they ment by me been able to lift outside of rack without a bench. Lol.. Iam I supoused to bench, incline, decline standing up without bench. Lol I don't know what's the purpose of them selling it with rack if I can't really use rack not even outside of it?
The most important piece of machinery in Train Untamed is the toilet. Or was that in Mark Bell's gym? The top 10 looks something like this: 1. Toilet, with accessories. 2. Squat rack(s). 3. Food bowl for doggy. 4. Air ventilators. 5. Coffee machine, if there is one. If there ain't, then insert fridge here. 6. Let's throw in some favorite barbells here at #6. 7. Plates, including for meals. See for more related material of higher importance #3. 8. Chalk. 9. Baby oil (in a locker Mr. Thrall has the key to: rarely used, but there are those hot days...). 10. Cow, in the back (for underweight novices): grain-fed because California is so damn dry.
So whats the differwnce between this and landmine belt squats as far as rom of leverage arm and belt squat? Also is bos any better than j squat as far as squating/feeling movement goes?
I’m looking at a pair of lifting shoes but I’m not sure if I’m ”ready” for it or if it’s worth it. A couple of months into lifting, currently doing 5x5 and I’m at 260lbs in my 5x5 squat. I currently squat in vans. Any advice?
Alan I felt a burning pain in my groin when I deadlifted 275 2 weeks ago. I didnt warm up very well I think that’s the reason. Now that same spot hurts whenever I squat or deadlift. Should I stop those exercises for a few months or just use very light weight? Or what?
Chalice Of Immortality well I believe my venereal diseases are to blame only in part. But also definitely pulled something. Loved your response. You just earned yourself one more subscriber
Absolutely! If you have a hernia, it's going to get worse if you continue to lift like that. Best bet is to see a doctor if it doesn't clear up in a week or two. If it is a hernia, you may need surgery to fix the problem.

It would be cool if they had a price for the belt squat listed on their website. I want to know how much it is but don't want to waste anyone's time with an email as I am too broke by far to buy one.
all the hundreds of informative videos are free and the one time he does an add for his or someone else merchandise you fucking pout lol go fuck yourself loser
Gregor Grigorian ik im late but I’m assuming your talking about a back bar squat. The bar squat works your whole body and requires more muscles to be active as well as better balance
Based on the name, I was hoping it would be a playlist video. Hey when are you gonna do a video of music you play during training? You seem to have good taste and I need to change it up. Know a good metal Spotify playlist? Or did you already make a video like that and I can’t find it?
Do I even lift? :^) What is the purpose of a weight belt? I think I have heard it is for hernias, but I don't see how that helps and have always wondered if it is really bad for you.
Baptist Joshua "the lifter’s belt provides a way to increase the effectiveness of the muscular contractions around the thoracic and abdominal cavities during a heavy lift. It works by giving the muscles around the spine something to contract against, so that they can produce a harder isometric contraction with the belt than they can without it. Like throwing a wiffle ball versus a baseball, or like learning to clean with a piece of PVC instead of a barbell, it is hard to produce force against little or no resistance. The belt provides this resistance to the trunk muscles, and the result is a harder contraction when the belt is worn." startingstrength.com/article/the_belt_and_the_deadlift
Thanks! I really appreciated it. I always thought people were pushing their belly against the belt, and that is wrong. I am watching a video on that site now, after I read from that article. A lot of knowledge! "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:19-20 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Baptist Joshua Don't you think that just came off has being disingenuous? Posting a b.s. question just to come back with a bunch of bible verses? Knock that shit off.
So is the belt to be used for all lifting, or just heavier weights? Seems like for all. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." I currently curl single handed, 45# each arm. Usually 2-3 sets of 10. I squat one set of 30-40, and another of 20-30. 20 pushups at least, and sometimes a set of 5-10 more. 65# bar curl with both hands 20 times. Situps = up to 45. Calf raises, about 80. Single calf raises are about 40-60. What is it called when you lift weights out to the side until you form a T? I do 25# about 15 times. I might add in a few other exercises. My problem is that I am still fat. I weigh about 260 and am 5'11". I do that about once a week. Sometimes twice a week. I walk a lot, and bicycle often. I have never been able to do pullups or chinups. I was told that I am pretty muscular but covered in fat so it is not visible. I eat commonly one to two onions fried in olive oil, 2 eggs, 2 plant based "bacons," one tomato, and a slice of oat bread with catsup for breakfast. Chamomile tea and lots of water, or lemon water. Occasionally I will add some fruit or close to a cup of cottage cheese. For lunch I generally have spaghetti, or pizza, or meat and veggies. Supper is usually the same. Any advice? I read sometimes I should do more cardio, but then I also read I should do more weightlifting. When I bike, I often bike 15 miles or so at a stretch, per week, or more. Do you have any advice? Thanks. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." My portion size is not extreme, in general. I have a friend who is skinny and muscular and I took him to Golden Corral. He ate 14 plates of food and was upset when I had to leave, because he wanted 4 more. His first 3 or 4 plates were noodle salads, and stuff like that. The following 11 were half steak(large pieces) and cottage cheese or ranch sauce.
Don't buy this hip belt squat machine if you're going to buy one, buy one like this: ruclips.net/video/m8ongBV7XZ0/видео.html Also, if you're going to use these machines you are better off with a chest/push up harness (Pit Shark have a nice one), as the hip belt doesn't allow your hips to naturally travel backwards, & ends up either pulling you off balance or pulling your lumbar spine into flexion. However when using the chest harness the squat has the mechanics of an incrementally loadable bodyweight squat. Also not only is this a good replacement for Barbell Squats, but is actually superior for a plethora of reasons for the general strength athlete that doesn't intend to compete in powerlifting.
I've heard some really bad horror story's from people trying to buy equipment from Alex at beast metals. Unless your local and want a custom piece I would not recommend buying from this company.
Alan, 46-y.o. manual laborer, who wants to be able to mow, shovel, axe chop and load scrap metal into his truck for another 15+ years. Any particular training program better for that than others?
Really if you are 46, its best to do what works for your body, but is still effective. i would focus more on functional strength like deadlift, farmers carries, odd objects, and some basic strength movements.
Linear progression worked well for me at 41. Research cortisol and stay away from things, like yoga, that soften your collagen and could lead to muscle strains and tears.
46 yr old here also and using Starting Strength my squat went from 95 to what is now supposed to be around 300 in 4 months. I couldn't do low bar when the weight got heavy due to shoulder inflexibility so I had to reduce the weight and do high bar squat, which is around 260. Still 95 to 260 is impressive compared to just about any other program I could think of. With your line of work you're using your back a lot, so I'd do squats and deadlifts as the bread and butter of my work outs. If I were you I'd get the Starting Strength book and also Barbell Prescription which deals with us older folks. FYI I've had back pain most of my life from having just a very weak back. For the first time in my life I stopped having it when I was low bar squatting. I highly recommend the investment in time and mental energy in learning it and doing it if you can.
To me this is the best machine alternative to squatting. You do the exact same movement as a squat but you don’t have to load the spine to do it. It can allow people with back issues to continue squatting.
To me the belt squat is _the_ best squat exercise in existence, period.
Does actually seem to make more sense than leg press if you think about it
Apophis392 jep, no pressure on lower back and a better angle at the knee for more quad involvement, should be a lot better than the leg press
Heynamechangeisback nice fuck twilight
Totally different feel than leg press. Fatigues the legs much more quickly as well.
It does I wish all gyms had them instead of Leg Presses.
@@Mks25932 that's k
I wish I had one of these. I have slight scoliosis and this would have me squatting again without compressing my spine.
free shipping to where tho, i want one to switzerland
realmaniac Argentina here hahahaha
Japan here
Vietnam here
Antartic here
sorry, but no ship is going to Switzerland
That solo is my favorite solo of all time.
Better to do this than a regular squat better for your back
I gave low bar a chance and it ended squats for me for the year. I'm sure there's a very good reason that lies in what I did individually, instead of the style of squatting itself, that will completely explain why I got snapped up.
Notification squad ayyy. Love that shirt btw!
Don't expect to get it anytime soon. Paid for a strongman log August 2017 from beast metals and still have not received it(March 6th 2018). I was supposed to have it September of 2017.
Blsir Mitchell that sucks
Nick Upmann hoping to have it for August of this year lmao. Next I'll get one from Slater or rogue.
Blsir Mitchell I've heard a lot of similar story's from people who bought from beast metals. The guy who owns it is a dipshit. You should ask for a refund and take your money to rogue.
Great move for those with that have trouble squatting due to shoulder issues
Have you tried a safety bar as well?
Roman yup that is great as well
What's wrong with your shoulders?
Not entirely sure. Discomfort in right shoulder during any flat press, especially around half way on up benching(even with elbows tucked. I can do weighted dips and bodyweight pushups, no problem. I hurt my back so this is a good alternative if you have a back injury
The most important piece of machinery in Train Untamed is the toilet. Or was that in Mark Bell's gym?
The top 10 looks something like this:
1. Toilet, with accessories.
2. Squat rack(s).
3. Food bowl for doggy.
4. Air ventilators.
5. Coffee machine, if there is one. If there ain't, then insert fridge here.

10. Cow, in the back (for underweight novices): grain-fed because California is so damn dry.
I dont see the belt squat for sale on the beastmetals website :/
Do one on the SSB please.
So whats the differwnce between this and landmine belt squats as far as rom of leverage arm and belt squat? Also is bos any better than j squat as far as squating/feeling movement goes?
Video on the differences between angles on leg press if you're doing more equipment vids?
Sweet, you got a belt squat machine.
Similar to Wennings belt Sqt machine but with subtle differences. Like them both. Good simple builds. Come down to that cost
I JUST asked about what that was in the comments on a recent video the other day! Talk about ask and ye shall receive!
Hey Alan would you talk about what log you would buy if you are training alone, but hope to press 400 on one day
Great piece of equipment
Wellllll, this didn't age well. BeastMetals is out of business.
Wish my gym had this
Great video.
Alan what do you think about flywheel isoinertial machines like the KBox?
Thanks.
we love u beard man !
i can tell u like your new pain toy
I’m looking at a pair of lifting shoes but I’m not sure if I’m ”ready” for it or if it’s worth it. A couple of months into lifting, currently doing 5x5 and I’m at 260lbs in my 5x5 squat. I currently squat in vans. Any advice?
Seems like Matt Wennings belt squat but without band attachments or a safety in the bottom
Hey Alan Manny from Austin it was great meeting you. You are first class dude.
cool i wonder what the shipping is like for ireland, can i have it sent by air?
Alan I felt a burning pain in my groin when I deadlifted 275 2 weeks ago. I didnt warm up very well I think that’s the reason. Now that same spot hurts whenever I squat or deadlift. Should I stop those exercises for a few months or just use very light weight? Or what?
peter franco Definitely see your doctor to Get checked for STDs
Chalice Of Immortality well I believe my venereal diseases are to blame only in part. But also definitely pulled something. Loved your response. You just earned yourself one more subscriber
The burning in my groin is usually when I'm near a crazy attractive girl who I just wanna smash pissers with but we don't or can't at the moment.
Absolutely! If you have a hernia, it's going to get worse if you continue to lift like that. Best bet is to see a doctor if it doesn't clear up in a week or two. If it is a hernia, you may need surgery to fix the problem.
The problem was...ego lifting. Even one plate is likely too much for you.
I was expecting a Billy Mays "But wait! There's more!"
Actually the best pourpose of this machine is to do legs for people who have a bad back and cant squat or deadlift well
or that have a broken arm and cant use a normal barbell nor they have the safety squat bar
what was msrp on this
Tree fity
Ugh, dat Beast Metal website needs a lot of help. No price posted for the belt squat, btw.
What's your number one accessory machine/equipment to add after barbells, dumbbells, racks and benches?
Can you make a video on why you or other people wear a belt during bench press and what the benefits of that are?
Hello Alan,
what do you have for a lat pull-down machine? Also, when and how often do you incorporate lat pull-downs in programming?
Thanks!
Patrick Kilbourn I dont thin that alan really does vertical pulls, because barbell rows have more carryover to the big 3 and you can go heavier. If he does it tho probably pull ups, cant imagine alan using a machine.
Is that Paul Di'Anno's voice in the background?
My back doesn't allow me to do heavy squat. Could this help
lapointe lapointe if your only goal is isolating the lower half and taking the back training completely out. I don't see why not
Just sounds like a lazy excuse to me. Strengthen your back by squatting and deadlifting.
Instead of a machine cant you hust stand on two boxes, wearing a dip belt and adding some plates?
Rajan Dhillon technically yes, but its gonna get awkward with the more plates
Add a loading pin to the dip belt setup and you can handle larger weights.
You could also have changeable dumbbells instead of an entire rack of weights but it comes down to how much you’re willing to spend for convenience
It would be cool if they had a price for the belt squat listed on their website. I want to know how much it is but don't want to waste anyone's time with an email as I am too broke by far to buy one.
$1800 shipped.
Hows it compare to the pit shark matt wennings and westsides?
Ooooh I get it this whole 2min video is an ad to sell belt squat machines and t-shirts ! Nice Alan
Gotta respect the hustle
Yeah, i knew something was off about the length of this vid
shilling pays the bills
all the hundreds of informative videos are free and the one time he does an add for his or someone else merchandise you fucking pout lol go fuck yourself loser
ooohh i get it, you want free information but you dont want him to make money with his channel! nice, shithead
You didn’t review it. What do you think about it
Best supplemental move is the daily potty squat!
What happens if you fail at the bottom of the lift, does it have a safety stop?
It's $ 747.00 dollars, correct?
Why can’t it replace the squat? Assuming I’m not a powerlifter
Gregor Grigorian ik im late but I’m assuming your talking about a back bar squat. The bar squat works your whole body and requires more muscles to be active as well as better balance
cool machine, not a fan of the vertical loading pegs though..
Even if I live in the boonies in Alaska?
Is Beast Metals and Bells of Steel the same company? I can not find nothing about Beast Metals on Internet :(
They went out of business
It's not even on their website.
So it is a pit shark w/o the chin/dip attachments
Based on the name, I was hoping it would be a playlist video. Hey when are you gonna do a video of music you play during training? You seem to have good taste and I need to change it up. Know a good metal Spotify playlist?
Or did you already make a video like that and I can’t find it?
Good vidja brah
Hey Alan how about a pin squat video? I see you do it on Instagram a lot.
Do the reverse hyper next
Is it train on time or train untamed
How much are they?
Do I even lift? :^) What is the purpose of a weight belt? I think I have heard it is for hernias, but I don't see how that helps and have always wondered if it is really bad for you.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Too long, didn't read
You're fat because you eat too much. Stop eating so much.
My portion size is not extreme, in general.
To be fair, I had never heard of a belt-squat machine until I saw this video. EduAdment.
Don't buy this hip belt squat machine if you're going to buy one, buy one like this: ruclips.net/video/m8ongBV7XZ0/видео.html
Also, if you're going to use these machines you are better off with a chest/push up harness (Pit Shark have a nice one), as the hip belt doesn't allow your hips to naturally travel backwards, & ends up either pulling you off balance or pulling your lumbar spine into flexion. However when using the chest harness the squat has the mechanics of an incrementally loadable bodyweight squat. Also not only is this a good replacement for Barbell Squats, but is actually superior for a plethora of reasons for the general strength athlete that doesn't intend to compete in powerlifting.
The belt squat at my gym sags on one side making it extremely difficult to rerack the damn thing.
Nice one ! :D
Reverse Hyper Machine!
Does it come with the belt?
Train on time?
Man your videos don't show up in my Abobox anymore
Up the Irons \m/!
I've heard some really bad horror story's from people trying to buy equipment from Alex at beast metals. Unless your local and want a custom piece I would not recommend buying from this company.
Like what in particular?
Didn't seem like a review. Just a plug for the manufacturer. Anyway, cool piece of equipment. peace out!
2 minute tuesday?
👍👍👍
I wish Alan would respond to the comments....................
GLUTES

Looks like they stole Matt Wenning's design.
im going to say that alan send me and make them send that thing to Poland (Europe) for free.
nice beard bro
Think beast metals is dead .... they sleep with the fishes
Alan,
46-y.o. manual laborer, who wants to be able to mow, shovel, axe chop and load scrap metal into his truck for another 15+ years. Any particular training program better for that than others?
yeah, the Starting strength novice linear progression
You need functional workouts.
Too short, you should tell more about mechanics of body n shit, than only selling it 🤙
Iron Maiden!!!
beltless belt squat... hehehe
Great glutes, Alan. Keep up the good work! 🍑💕
Seems like a good way to mess up lower back
It literally has zero loading on the spine so that’s impossible
thiccc
I don't like the way the plates are loaded....a smashed finger is waiting to happen
the machine is dope, the belt SUCKS BigTime
Wouldn't reccomend them.
Why ?
RIP lower spine
Looks like a pain to get the plates off....but I like this type of squats ,,,just not this machine
jesus, so this channel is going to turn more into an ad....
Wilford Brimley : yeah fuck Alan for giving us all this free content and featuring equipment he uses on his channel. What a dirty sellout
Omg,all that weight direct to push the vertebra forward!!!! Not healthy
James Foie Count citation?
rule of thumb lumbar flexion isn't good brah
Way too long intro for such a short video
