Alan don't lie bro, you purposely hit lower numbers because you knew the Natty Witch Hunters were onto you AND YOU HAD TO THROW THEM OFF YOUR SCENT. *Congrats on the meet bench and deadlift PR, excited to see what happens next.
That epic hair flip on the third bench attempt was nowhere near natty. I’m calling it, Thrall uses 2in1 shampoo and conditioner followed by yet another round of conditioning.
Coming home from finishing a training cycle where i missed my last lift and watching this got me more grounded in my mood. Id rather watch someone be human and live the struggle than someone who presents themselves as flawless. 10/10
Alan, I've run enough 5k's, 10ks, marathons, etc. to know that some days I have it and some days I don't when it comes to competition. There is no explaining it. Sometimes accumulated fatigue catches up, but you're still young both in absolute terms and as a lifter. You have many years over which to improve.
I dig the maturity here man. I’ve been around the powerlifting block a few times, and it’s true as hell - sometimes you just don’t have a good day, and you don’t execute. On to the next one. And congrats on the long list of positives!
Good gracious Alan, you set a meet PR total and set meet PRs in two lifts. and won your weight class with strict judging . Going 7 for 9 is excellent. When people go 9 for 9 most of the time I don't think they are pushing themselves. The number of times people go 9 for 9 and really push it to the absolute max is very rare. You're still pretty inexperienced, tying everything together and nailing every aspect of a meet, from training, nutrition, preparation, peaking at the right time, in all 3 lifts and then nailing them all in the same-day is very difficult and takes a lot of experience. I'd say you did a superb job, and should take a lot of pride in your performance. You're on a great trajectory. keep up the great work
This video made my whole week Alan!! Amazingly real in that life isn't always Instagram perfect, determination to better and wonderful sense of humor about it all! I've often felt exactly the way you show on the bike or boarding up the gym or opening the spaghetti sauce. Thanks!!
Easily the best video you have put out in a long time. Very funny. As for the problems with the lifts... It happens. I've even had this happen on what I thought was a good day. I wasn't tired, I had energy other lifts were good, but when I go to do my deadlifts everything feels like I have an extra 45 on each side of the bar.
If you’re lagging in a movement you should put it at the front of your scheduling. Also, the deadlift should be in the front anyway, since it’s a compound movement.
Both you and Omar Isuf have the 2 most entertaining videos I've seen today. Hey good job man despite you didn't do as well as you wanted. You know you still have plenty of room for more strength gains and you'll do better next time. Oh..and always remember.... TRAIN UNTAMEDDD!
I love this video man. This is the reason I follow you, I dont compete but this is how I live my life at work and in my short work outs in the gym I'm always competing with my self
Don't worry about it Alan... we've all been there. I've had the same and can relate. All you can do is keep training and execute in your next meet. You'll be setting PR's either way.
Another great video from you, Alan. I love your style of "no bs, straight to the point" lifting talk, paired with funny (but without forced gags) skits inbetween. You do both parts well and it ended up making another good video. Cheers
I love watching your videos. I have learned so much in the short time that I have followed you. Keep at it. We all have our own bad days where we don't feel we pushed ourselves hard enough for whatever reason.
Thanks for making your videos entertaining and informative. I don’t do powerlifting but I do watch you for advice on heavy lifts. My kids also like your videos and my 8 year old said that it made her sad that you are selling your gym.
Yo man, even though you didn't do as well as you wanted, still inspiring. You just have off days some times, and I liked that you didn't put out excuses. I know your next meet will be great !! Looking forward to seeing the training videos
Opened up the vid with a mention of Slayer's final unholy world tour! This is why i'm subbed for life to your channel. . as well as the killer content ;) \m/ --and hails to that Rocky 3 outro! Well played sir Well played. . . oh, and also glad you're not selling US gym.
Hoping I can make time to see Slayer this summer, such a solid line up. Won't be getting Behemoth when they roll through New York, we'll be getting Napalm Death instead. Still solid as fuck.
Brilliant video man. Second from last deadlift set and my back just felt off... not so much to not give it on the final set, and it went pretty well... I'm putting it down to getting my warm ups totally reworked thanks to your videos and to a smaller degree two other channels. So keep it up man. We small folk appreciate it too.
Always love what you do Alan. You were first one I came to when i started trying to powerlift. Great comedy blended with information. Just saying thanks.
Slayer tour recap, including all the bands, especially testament and behemoth?? Meet recap showing all the lifts and setting two PRs?? This has to be my favorite video, moar moar!
Marko Todorović Mark Bell goes by the nickname smelly. He'd buy untamed strength and use it as a warehouse if Alan really sells it. Alan said Marks gym is close to his
Marko Todorović you asked what's that supposed to mean. I thought you meant the smelly will buy it thing? The title says Alan is selling the gym and the comment says smelly will buy it. I was trying to help lol
TO UNTAMED STRENGTH : You failed on that last squat because you went way way below parallel which wasted more energy ; I think you subconsciously went back to your old patterns that you stated in previous video was not necessary ; a little below parallel would have sufficed.
I'm supposed to do my first competition soon. Nothing huge or major. However, I was assaulted (won't go into details) and had a concussion. My doctor says I'm not ready to go to the gym, train, or do the competition. I want nothing more than to do the competition. :(
Stef , better take it easy with the concussion. I suffered one from a major auto wreck, so lucky to not be permanently injured. They are tricky to diagnose, and need to be respected. Patience, young one. And sorry to hear about your incident. Hope you are living in peace now.
Don’t rush. Had a gym partner suffer a concussion (car accident). Follow instructions. Be patient. She got back and is competing and you will be competing too!!
It's good try and reframe percieved failures and pick out positives. People seem to forget that the main reason they compete is for enjoyment of their sport, beating yourself up for not meeting your own high standars robs you of the joy of competing.
One time I spent a year training for a 5k. I knocked 2 minutes off my time in that year, bringing me to my goal of 18 minutes. The day of the race I felt great, it was nice outside, little to no stress, adequate warm up, everything seemed right. Race starts and half a mile in I already feel winded. I stopped running at 1 mile, turned around and finished by walking with my wife and kids. I guess you don’t always know when your nervous system is going to fire the way you want it to.
great video man. i just had a nationals powerlifting meet a few days ago, it was my first one and ive been working with a coach only 4 months prior in my 1and a half experience with heavy weights. i managed to lift 265kg deadlift, 180kg squat and 120kg bench at 83kg. i didnt come first though, so i think you better train harder, unless you want to hear who came first
I went to Slayer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 3 days ago. It was fucking insane!! Edmonton knows how to throw down. It was an indoor venue, Behemoth's set really benefited from the low lighting in there. Such a good atmosphere. I saw a guy get his teeth knocked out, I got kneed in the neck, I saw a girl crowd surfing get launched 4ft in the air like a volley ball. I was right at the front, it was chaos. The pit was non stop and about 75ft in diameter for Anthrax, Lamb of God and Slayer. Lots of blood and sweat.
I bought a pit ticket for the show in Irvine 3 months in advance, but I got stationed in Camp Pendleton and we went to the field right as the show started...
I saw Slayer, Megadeth, Testament & Suicidal Tendencies on the Clash of the Titans tour in 1990 in London. Was one of the best concerts I've ever been to
I don't laugh at loud too often when I'm alone watching youtube vids, but I actually lol'd for real a few different times watching this. Congrats on your meet either way! Still good numbers.
Alan don't lie bro, you purposely hit lower numbers because you knew the Natty Witch Hunters were onto you AND YOU HAD TO THROW THEM OFF YOUR SCENT.
*Congrats on the meet bench and deadlift PR, excited to see what happens next.
Who are you?
Johan2 Ofinlohigh he's the 3/5 natty king
he's the no calves bro lifter of natty gains
Johan2 Ofinlohigh dude you dont know who that is!!?? Thats “Oh were you soft here” man!!!
he's the king without the calves
Never been happier to have a title be empty clickbait. Thank God
Troy Rowden I know. I've never even been to untamed strength but I was low-key freaking out
Get Omar to hook you up with some creatine. I hear he knows a guy.
Paul Caskey Read it as *I know he hears a guy*
Lmfao
That epic hair flip on the third bench attempt was nowhere near natty. I’m calling it, Thrall uses 2in1 shampoo and conditioner followed by yet another round of conditioning.
The Brad LeBROski no, dude. Everyone knows it’s csc, not scc!
Coming home from finishing a training cycle where i missed my last lift and watching this got me more grounded in my mood. Id rather watch someone be human and live the struggle than someone who presents themselves as flawless. 10/10
Alan speed pedaling on that bike 😂😂
IKR, had to explain my goofy grin to coworkers. Dude has serious comedy chops.
Personally a fan of seeing all 3 attempts
It's not uncommon to "under perform" in a meet. I think you're point of view is objectively correct. Shit happens. Still a beast.
it appears you sunk in your squats to a similar depth that you did before you revised your form.
This right here.
Yeah this was definitely atg
I dig the maturity here man. I’ve been around the powerlifting block a few times, and it’s true as hell - sometimes you just don’t have a good day, and you don’t execute. On to the next one. And congrats on the long list of positives!
5:49 "Spare any gains? Everything helps"
jables paolini will squat for whey
dont scare me with a title like that! :'(
damn, failed that deadlift so hard that he sold the gym... RIP
Alan you're truly an inspiration for the peak of what a natural athlete can achieve. I salute you!
By far the best natty hydraulic lift on RUclips
httr dc rich is my favorite natty pia........oh wait wrong channel
High effort clickbait is a first for me.
Good gracious Alan, you set a meet PR total and set meet PRs in two lifts. and won your weight class with strict judging . Going 7 for 9 is excellent. Same
Its a compound movement, any slight tear/injury in any muscles contributing like erector spinae can hamper the movement.
Everybody has off days now and then because...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you’re lagging in a movement you should put it at the front of your scheduling. Also, the deadlift should be in the front anyway, since it’s a compound movement.
Yo from Italy 🇮🇹 ur the best , I improved my deadlift from 160kg to 217,5kg thx to you
Alin Eugen i just went to rome
well done, but at this point it's a bit of a waste not to put that 5th plate and hit 220
You pedaling on that bike had me rolling!

I've been waiting for the UK dates to be announced for so long, bought my tickets and can't wait to see them!
Don't worry about it Alan... we've all been there. I've had the same and can relate. All you can do is keep training and execute in your next meet. You'll be setting PR's either way.
Many thanks for the content the past couple of years. Going to catch the concert in ATL hopefully, thanks for the heads up.
Another great video from you, Alan. I love your style of "no bs, straight to the point" lifting talk, paired with funny (but without forced gags) skits inbetween. You do both parts well and it ended up making another good video. Cheers
Another homeless vet! 😱
One of the best videos yet. Killing it, Alan!
Oh Heeeellll Yeeeaahhh! You rock Alan! Great job at your meet, and love your positive attitude!! Love your channel! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Congratz on PR's Alan. Also I wish you will only get stronger and stronger while spreading the good info about lifting like you always do :)
I love watching your videos. I have learned so much in the short time that I have followed you. Keep at it. We all have our own bad days where we don't feel we pushed ourselves hard enough for whatever reason.
I love the humbleness. Along with honesty
Your bloopers reel at the end was adorable. You two look like you are very happy together. Keep it up.
Awesome, very inspiring. Thanks for sharing Alan, you're the reason I started my journey into lifting. Ill remember this vid.
Seeing lamb of god for the first time this summer, I’ve never been more excited for a show
DUDE!!! I was in the pit when you showed those slayer and lamb of god clips. So freaking awesome!

Best channel on the tubes. Hang in there sir.
Opened up the vid with a mention of Slayer's final unholy world tour! This is why i'm subbed for life to your channel. . as well as the killer content ;) \m/
--and hails to that Rocky 3 outro!
Well played sir
Well played.

I feel like Alan would be a roadie for slayer if strongman and powerlifting doesn't work lol
I can totally see him 'farmer walking' the cabinets, amps. . haha

Damn it that title got me! Super clean attempts Alan, wonderful to watch. Love the sense of humor haha.
Request... can you put a blooper reel together?
Brilliant video man.
Second from last deadlift set and my back just felt off... not so much to not give it on the final set, and it went pretty well... I'm putting it down to getting my warm ups totally reworked thanks to your videos and to a smaller degree two other channels. So keep it up man.

Good thing I get your sense of humor Alan. The title freaked my wife out big time lol. Congrats on your meet numbers
Always love what you do Alan. You were first one I came to when i started trying to powerlift. Great comedy blended with information. Just saying thanks.
Saw Slayer in Winnipeg on Tuesday! Insane show! A hell of a way to go out!
Slayer tour recap, including all the bands, especially testament and behemoth??
Meet recap showing all the lifts and setting two PRs??
This has to be my favorite video, moar moar!
Smelly will buy it
What's that supposed to mean?Hahaha
Marko Todorović Mark Bell goes by the nickname smelly. He'd buy untamed strength and use it as a warehouse if Alan really sells it. Alan said Marks gym is close to his
What does his nickname have to do with it?
Marko Todorović you asked what's that supposed to mean. I thought you meant the smelly will buy it thing? The title says Alan is selling the gym and the comment says smelly will buy it. I was trying to help lol
Oh, sorry man.I just wanted to know why all of all people, Mark would buy it.
“Stupid jar...” I appreciate real videos like this, very encouraging...thanks
Love your sense of humor! Greetings from Mexico City!
I love the bicycle part!!! I laughed so hard. Good comedy in your videos. Thanks!
Love how calm you are before and after your lifts
Lol lmao... Alan you should get an Oscar. This is what makes all your programs great. Semper Fi.
Beautiful to see some METAL on this channel
TO UNTAMED STRENGTH : You failed on that last squat because you went way way below parallel which wasted more energy ; I think you subconsciously went back to your old patterns that you stated in previous video was not necessary ; a little below parallel would have sufficed.
Sometimes happen man, do not give up, keep trying. This sport is truly hard, but just keep trying.
Greetings from Mexico!
Thanks for the heads up on Slayer! I managed to snag a ticket in my area!
By far the most enjoyable video I seen in awhile. Blopper was hilarious 😂
Well done Alan; love the meet recap. You definitely loosened the jar lid for your girl..
Beast mode, been watching a long time and i thought the lifts were all beast mode and clean as hell.
Very humble mate. Your a legend!
I'm supposed to do my first competition soon. Nothing huge or major. However, I was assaulted (won't go into details) and had a concussion. My doctor says I'm not ready to go to the gym, train, or do the competition. I want nothing more than to do the competition. :(

Thank you. I'm taking it as slow as possible. :) There will be other competitions to look forward to.
Get well soon r kid.
Antonio Menga thank you :)
Don’t rush. Had a gym partner suffer a concussion (car accident). Follow instructions. Be patient. She got back and is competing and you will be competing too!!

THANK GOD IT WAS CLICK BAIT
Love your videos, always awesome
I bought a pit ticket for the show in Irvine 3 months in advance, but I got stationed in Camp Pendleton and we went to the field right as the show started...
I'd like a top view camera for the bench shots, would look 10/10 majestic with all those golden locks flowing out
Your best performance is motivate the people anb be this funny!
Thank you another time for the trap bar and congratulation!
So many emotions in this vid.
Hey man sometimes you just have an off day. And loved the video, was awesomely fun to watch.
I saw Slayer, Megadeth, Testament & Suicidal Tendencies on the Clash of the Titans tour in 1990 in London. Was one of the best concerts I've ever been to
"how come you guys are wearing your untamed strength shirts inside out?" This was pure gold!
“That’s really neat “ and bike scene had me laughing my ass off. This video is one of your best!
Great job Alan, keep it up!
I just feel so at home watching your videos
Nice job man! Admire the standards you hold yourself to. Keep up the good work!
I don't laugh at loud too often when I'm alone watching youtube vids, but I actually lol'd for real a few different times watching this.
Congrats on your meet either way! Still good numbers.
Thank you for sharing...I enjoy what you do!!! :)
Nobody does it better! What a comedy skit!
Hell yeah I say slayer when they came through Dallas. Well worth paying ticket price to see their last tour!
The sad walk down the lonely street at 5:37 would have been great if you'd been lugging an atlas stone. (cue incredible hulk closing music)
Bro but you made a Video PR , the editing and production is off the charts !!
Haha cool, great taste in music! I'm actually going to see Slayer and the rest in Toronto coming up the end of this week
Alan i love you, bloopers were fooqn hilarious
I'm obligated to "like" because of the Rocky 3 clip....
But , seriously, great to see your progress Alan. Keep it up bro.
that show looks amazing
