A lot of weirdness in that fight. I killed him while he was frozen and the game softlocked because Sam is supposed to end the fight by attacking when reduced to 1% hp, but he couldn’t unfreeze himself.

well he really did get storymode treatment. apparently though people struggled against Sam in MOC. I didn’t even remember fighting him in the second half’s MOC

Amd there's me, struggling to finish the last star with a full team of DHIL/Jing Yuan, Sparkle, Tingyun and Huo Huo. Huo Huo is E1, Jing Yuan is E0S1 😂
Ikr I was preparing to suffer fine tunning the teams and a hour of resets in MoC 12 and Jing Yuan with his foxes just ended his existence. It was so anti climactic

It's not that he's bad, it's just that because of the trotters, he can't focus on Sam.
Use Ratio on first half, then DHIL on second. ratio can easily clear the first half in 3 cycles (mine is mid investment), and DHIL can work with 7 cycles. Good luck!

SAM design makes sense as an MOC boss. You can Turtle up against him but you'll just run out of time.

Ignoring all mechanics with jing yuan,sparkle,tingyun and a lvl 70 lynx solo sustain worked on both sam and aventurine at eq lvl 6 first try
1:54 well, since stellaron hunters already know a lot about the trailblazer due to your previous interactions with kafka, blade and silverwolf, Sam didn't need to re-verify your identity. Also the new story quest's ending explains this pretty well.

@@tofddxpx they nerfed him when? i've beatin him second try in the day the update came out, he's the first boss out on any mihoyo game i've played that made me play use my brain to come up with a strategy to beat him
@@amer2142 they nerfed his attack damage. My shitty team: TB (Fire), Herta, Lynx and Clara beat him without losing a half of max HP unlike my previous tries. By the way, even two characters - TB and Herta were ten levels lower without the necessary artifacts.
@@tofddxpx Well, you surely did need a healer and a shielder against him. So it's likely wasn't a nerfing, but just you chose the correct paths for sustains.
I love how in the cutscene after Sam's fight Acheron throws her sword at him and it bounces back.

. The room in the Mondstadt Cathedral we visit during the Archon Quest

I did penacony at equilibrium 3 or 4 can't remember exactly. Spent days blocked by something unto death just to...blaze through Sam so easily that it was both a welcome relief after days of frustration but also a let down to the tension i was expecting.

Well, it's likely mostly because he is a Stellaron Hunter and he knows who TB is and how much important the TB is. Anything else is just a seconday/minor reason.

Idk, when I went against sam he immediately one shot my dot entire team and they're all built very well. I barely defeated him with Jingliu, but everyone else in the team died.
Probably because you were using Jingliu. She has no business being in this MOC12 lol

Not in MoC, I'm talking about the first time we meet sam. Also I used Kafka the first time and he still did massive dmg to my entire team. I'm starting to think that his scalings are just screwed up
@@wetnoodlex She's fine in the Sam fight if you have silver wolf. The other 3 enemies have ice weakness, and Sam has quantum.
The boss fight in the story I also had jingliu, but no SW in my party. Wasn't hard, but was mildly annoying cause I couldn't break him. I was actually slowly losing hp and had to heal near every turn with lynx... which I did not have to in the MOC fight (I just broke him and healed afterwards) but it wasn't bad enough for me to need to stop skilling every turn with jingliu.
all my team except luocha died when sam had 17% hp left, luckly, GigaChad Luocha finished Sam
Mooshashi's main team did have Gepard, which is useful in blocking Sam's damage. Most of us usually only bring a healer, who is severely nerfed when fighting Sam.

This video actually gave me the idea of using FTB and 3 healers (Luocha, Lynx, Natasha.) The fact that it took me two weeks of farming to level up 8 of my characters to level 70 + relics, only to win with only FTB and Natasha as the two surviving members definitely pissed me off.

Even at max equilibrium i found sam to be really easy too. I basically soloed him with a level 70 march 7th with level 4 traces and leftover relics. His damage is just really low for some reason

the same thing happened to me. I started the fight as I would any fight at the time. 3 DPS' and my Blazer-sama. The 3DPS' we built for full attack/crit without anything to protect them except the shields from Blazy so they went down rather quickly before I realised that the skills are actually what hurt them the most. Then Blazy just stoody there, blocking endlessly with some attacks sprinkled in and... my dude Sam just killed himself.
This fight was really tough for me - until I built my Trailblazer like Blazer-Dino which made it easy
So… yeah!
This works at Equilibrium 6 as well. My Trailblazer-Fire has 3357 HP and 5385 DEF, which was enough to solo Sam without getting hurt. The A4 Major trace offset the HP loss on Skills. I did almost no damage, letting Sam kill herself with her own HP consumption

Trailblazer: Ultimate
Sam: Attack, Supernova Overload

sam not taking note of trailblazer turns out was foreshadowing. i haven't finished 2.1 story tho i can't get past the story boss TT currently building gepard whom i lost the 50/50 to on luocha for that

I rejected taking FireFly’s photo cause it had the icon of leaving the mission not continuing it (the arrow) but when I found out it continued the mission I was flabbergasted
Sam just... doesn't do much damage. I was running MOC12 with a team of Fu Xuan, SW, Sparkle and Qingque against him. SW got knocked pretty low from the miniboss on Sam's wave and using a few skills. She was at somewhere between 100 and 300 health. Sam *relentlessly* attacked her over and over and over again. Fu Xuan's damage mitigation and very small healing from her ults was enough to prevent her from dying, despite taking every attack from Sam over a cycle or two.
My Silver Wolf is E2. She's uses her freedom of stat investment from not needing EHR for *damage*, not defences. A single strong attack from almost any enemy in MOC12 would kill her, even through Fu Xuan damage mitigation, at that hp range. She just stood there and took it from Sam.
Sam isn't a damage dealer, he's a HP sponge.
Sam in the story was easy enough for me to beat 2nd try on my harmony only account. With food buffs though.

Just a really weirdly worded one without punctuation. Actually, there is probably a better way to phrase this

I suppose the "attack Sam out of the Secondary Combustion state" is the more easily accepted phrasing of this sentence.
Aventurine must be hard
This was pretty much my fight with sam too my trailblazer was the only character I semi built and I think at that time I only had I think equilibrium 2 so I just had to wait until black swan and sam just slowly chipped away at his health because my characters did under 1% to him
For someone who has been a casual player without any real team builds sam gave me the hardest time in terms of story bosses, the first boss I lost to 3 times in a row until I upgraded my team enough to make it through lol

Themoment I saw "easiest boss in star rail" I had to see it. I wiped with 4 man team and only lynx survived to kill him second attempt. Now im off to see what you do against Sam.

Yeah no sam forced me to use two healers else I lost might a done it wit ha shielder and a healer but with one healer I died :(. Used Luocha, Lynx, Topaz and Ratio

At max equilibrium, Sam is actually fairly hard. Although I haven't put that much effort into making my account actually that well rounded in terms of stats/meta
I almost got wiped, Lynx decide to goes above and beyond for me and destroy SAM

In my sam fight, Lynx literaly soloed him. All of my DPSs died early on and so Lynx had to do everything else XD that was a fun fight and I cant wait until he becomes a more regular boss.

the Sam fight was one of the easier ones I've done since I had Geopard and well lets just say that Sam barely touched my characters since for some odd reason the shield got buffed(?) and basically I was only taking damage from the skill usage aside from very few attacks from Sam
I thought the reason I was able to kill him so easily was because I had HuoHuo and all of his damage from using skills was instantly negated

@@tovarishchfeixiao Yup, like low equilibrium is meant for early on when you don't have much. Higher equilibrium scales hard in difficulty because of what you can achieve in endgame.
@@silverfortune2205 To be honest, Hoyo should make the game on a way where you can't proceed to other worlds without unlocking specific equi levels. Just like as how in Genshin you can't do certain story quests if younot reached/surpassed a specific AR level (AR is the equivalent of Trailblaze level).
Because this will be a big problem in the future if more newcomers finds out about it.

I didn't understand the difficulty of the fight with Sam until I saw others fighting him. I use preservation MC and Lynx as a default. 😂 No one died.
Yeah Sam(atleast in the story) is an absolute joke, on my physical only account I spammed skills... and I easily stayed alive with just Natasha.

How Does Ignoring Adventurine change the outcome? What are the 2 possible outcomes?
Turns out, it seems so far, Misha and Black Swan are the only ones that hasn't been revealed to be hiding another identity, so the ???? Likely means they're lying about who they are. Except for Sparkle, because Sparkle is just Sparkle.
