I've learnt that you shouldn't add too much water in this initially as it springs water naturally while cooking and takes longer to finish. He made what we call red cherries-a snack instead of a jam. Tasty though!

In St Lucia we call it gooseberries and the patois version is Seewet. To take out the sourness from it I normally soak it in some salt water overnight then next day I wash out and start boil it. I like adding bayleaf, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to flavor it along with the sugar and it tastes nothing short of amazing. I'm about to make some for my in laws to take back to the States. Great job Chris. Next time I'll add ginger to it as well.

Chevelle Moore TRINIDAD:. getting ready to make some today, we call them sour cherries, and the ripe ones, red Cherries, and my name is really Cheri, named by my brother, when I was born, he said I was red like the Cheri, so here I am, Trini Cheri Lopez, putting, food coloring, ginger, piece of grated garlic, salt, ginger, pepper and sugar, I wondered if I should add preservative powder, a dust, that it can remain in the kitchen. i am using the water that I boiled it in, to water my friend and orchids mixed with epsom salts. yeah Chris, thank you.
