I used to love swimming I was a lifeguard and on the swim team and continued swimming into my adulthood until I got sick. I've been cancer-free for 6 years but I'm still 50 lb lighter than I used to be and now the water always feels cold . 85°-95° out and the water still never feels warm enough I want to swim anymore. Now I'm usually content to sit on the beach and watch the grandkids but I still miss it sometimes . 😔
I’m a lifeguard and swim teacher right now, and I know some people who have similar stories. I’m scared of the day I’ll no longer be as capable of a swimmer. Then I see some of the old folks in the aerobics classes that go from barely knowing how to float to skilled swimmers, and I think aging might not be so bad. Might I recommend a triathlon suit to help with the chill and a shallow water aerobics class to get back in the swing of things?
I’m sorry to hear that, but congratulations on being cancer free! You could wear a wet suit to swim at the beach with your grandkids, it would help keep you nice and warm :)
Actually, he’s trying to remind us how cool we really, despite what our parents, teachers, classmates or society MAY have told us. We came from God and God doesn’t make junk.🤗
Well done! Thank you for sharing with us 👍 - on a side note, I learned how to swim when I was a child but, I did not actually start swimming on a regular basis up until about 2 years ago, swimming every day will bring countless health benefits to your life. Take that advice from me. All the best 😊👍
I have been swimming since I was a baby, and 68 years later I still love it. I don't swim everyday but when I do swim ,I feel great. It's a great escape for me personally, from this unbalanced world.
I prefer inhaling it through the nose, thus engaging my olfactory system. One might think that the tiny hazard of drowning would present a serious hindrance to this practice, but gladly drowning only affects mere mortals, not godlike beings such as I.
When I go to swim meets I always think about the taste of the water. For a very weird swimmer, the way each pool taste and feels different is very interesting.
I started swimming after a tare in my knee from kickboxing/wrestling..that being said..I’ve swam 6-700 meters daily..(except Sunday/Monday)..and will be competing in 1st triathlon on October 10th.. wish me luck ..💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I just started swimming about 2 months ago, from scratch, didn't know a single thing about it, and from the first lesson it became my favorite sport, it's amazing everything that takes place when you swim, I'm still learning and thank you because your videos have helped me improve greatly
My swimming is very much conscious, I have to think of everything I'm doing including when I should turn to breath in... but as you swim it gets more natural, I dont think it will ever be unconscious though
I am getting always bored of the most sports, not to mention gym. I started swimming with a coach at the local pool since October and I LOVE IT. I'm not at all bored and I am looking forward to my sessions every other day with impatience!!
MY NAME IS GERARDO I HAVE BEING SWIMMING SINCE THE AGE OF 12 IM 56 NOW I STILL SWIM EVERYDAY 1 TO 1:45 AHOUR BUTTER THAT'S ALL I SWIM AND TAKEN A LIFEGUARD COURSE Next MONTH ITS AMAZING I CAN STILL DO ALL THIS TANKS TO SWIMMING AND IM SAYING THAT BECAUSE IM AN ALCOHOLIC AND DRUGGED TO TANKS TO DISCIPLINE THAT I LEARNED TANKS TO MY COACH KEEP SWIMMING EVERYONE YOU WILL LIVE FOR EVER BECAUSE SWIMMERS DON'T DIE WE JUST WEAVE AWAY
WOW! Im so blessed to be in a country with so many clean and beautiful pools, just imagine swimming with snakes, alligators, and mud in the water. Im now reminded that my biggest concern is to relax instead of not being bitten. Gratitude has now motivated me to successfully learn to swim at my local YMCA. I’ll make my swim video next, stay tuned.😆😆😆
It's totally dependent on your training schedule and type! It never hurts to add some cross-training, but make sure you've done your research or have consulted a professional.
I just can't sink. What do I need to do in order to sink? I'm 62, learnt to swim🏊♀️ when I was 54, did if for about year then stopped, just started in May 2022 at 62. Really enjoy it doing 2 hours a day, but I'm thinking of going back to an hour a day because my knees are sore and knackered the next day. I try to do at least 5 days a week🇬🇧🇯🇲
Man, I wish I could swim as good as I did a year ago. Fsr my first time swimming this year I felt sick and out of breath. Maybe it’s because I haven’t moved much but meh
Swimming is magic
It heals our bodies and hearts.
🙌🏻🤗
That's true
I miss it
And may I add.. Mind too, as long as you're swimming you think of nothing else👍
Until you’re competitive 😬
This! I started swimming for fun again recently and am hooked. Determined to improve, but I have so much fun in the pool!
Swimming is the closest we have to flying, my fav sport 💙

I am insanely skinny if you push through it you will be fine. It takes me a while to get in but I just push through
why don't you try wearing a wetsuit in the pool? so much warmer!

I suggest getting a wetsuit!
Returning to the water will make you so much happier!
Dang bro you’re making us sound a lot cooler than we are

Yeah lol
You know what message was sending to my brain? "Don't stop swimming, don't drown, don't stop swimming, don't drown", lol!
Just recently learned to swim. I love it
That's great to hear! Happy swimming!

No wonder I haven’t noticed much improvement on my swimming. I’ve been skipping the tasting and smelling part.
The tasting part is easy, you just got to flounder and inhale some water when you try to breathe.
Swimming has a meditation like feeling
Couldn't agree more, Tony! It's the best! Happy swimming :)
I tell people it's like meditation in motion.

Swimming is stress buster for me
Not only for u for all ,👍🙏
My favorite sport!!
Me too!)
“Include all five senses”
*Im going to chug pool water and incorporate my taste!*
(No)
To each their own 👀
I prefer inhaling it through the nose, thus engaging my olfactory system.
One might think that the tiny hazard of drowning would present a serious hindrance to this practice, but gladly drowning only affects mere mortals, not godlike beings such as I.
Dude, everytime I take in some pool water I'm just like.... *does urine actually taste like pool water or is it the other way around*
When I go to swim meets I always think about the taste of the water. For a very weird swimmer, the way each pool taste and feels different is very interesting.

Good luck Stephan! You’ve got this 💪
How was it?
@@raulraina9075 went well.. not for the bike part.. just that cycling movement is hard in my knee..actually harder then running
Good!!!, per class I swim like 3000 meters aprox, but I just go weekends, I'd like to go every day 😭😭.

I am not exactly sure how the sense of smell aids in swimming, but...
The smell of chlorine or salt!
I’m asking myself the same thing 😣
😅Also taste🙊
It's a lovely video, but seems to have got a little carried away with the "involve all 5 senses" thing😊
He's talking about the chlorine. Lol
I know. That was a weird last statement he made
Swimming feels really peaceful for me. It just stops the overthinking and negative thoughts. My technique is not perfect and I'm still improving tho😁
Just LOVE swimming ♥️
We do too! Happy swimming :)

All of them are beautiful, but pink shorts? They're on another level~♡
I ❤️ swimmers. There's a support system here. Positive comments 👍
It's a great worldwide community! Happy to have you here too :)
It just feels fannnnntastic!
Couldn't agree more, Paula! Happy swimming :)
Wow so detailed 🏊♀️🙌💕💕

She looks really good at swimming underwater in a pool that looks so cool
I LOVE SWIMMING
“This is your brain on swimming.”
I feel fabulous after a good swim and after teaching. My mental is A-1!
Ahhh swimming is a necessity!
Truly love it ❤
I am on a swim team! And made it to conference!
Congrats! Way to put in the hard work!
It's amazing how you engage all 5 senses to eat a bag of chips on a couch
The smell of chlorine is what I live for🙌🙌🙌
Not me just tuning my brain off when I swim 😂
OMG… I L❤VE swimming!!! ❤
AMAZING
I feel so special i swim in morning love 💕 it so much
The human body is amazing.
Swimming is sunnah Rasulullah Muhammad SAW, insyaaAllah many advantages
Your making us look cool
_🤿 _*_“I can't really swim as a Shark~”_*_ 🦈_
If you lived in it 24/7 like the hammerhead you would. No more Starbucks though!☺️
Did he say taste? 😂
I want to build up my stamina and endurance and go out jogging often . Will going swimming help at all?
This sounds like when you have to write a 5000 word paper so you just fluffing in as much words as possible 😂

Swimming is the most difficult of triathlons. It's so technical and requires so many coordinated movements. Still trying to master it myself.
I don't recommend smelling underwater 😅😅😅 otherwise I've been swimming wrong
...and also incorporate the sixth sense: *Emotion*
Nice!
I ❤ diving
Water have more density than air, then the skin can perceive more emotions throw a fluid that it feels more than air.Is a huge emotion
I'm always sure to include smell and taste when I'm trying to breath properly in freestyle.
It kinda sucks :D
Learning to swim properly now
When they taught me how to swim they taught me how to fly.
That’s why I was soooooo very sore the morning after swimming and exercising years of not doing neither.
If I start thinking about it all ,I will forget how to swim 😂😂😂
Cool
No entendí nimadres pero creo que es un buen deporte a practicar
Perfect
Cool!
Did he just said smell? Lol Issa trap! Don’t be smelling under the water now my peeps!
The made me feel a lot more skilled than I am
Nice 👌
Good 👍
Do I need to go to gym to be better at swimming ? Or only swimming alone will do the job???
It's totally dependent on your training schedule and type! It never hurts to add some cross-training, but make sure you've done your research or have consulted a professional.
Does she have earbuds in her ears? I've always wanted to listen to music or something while swimming.
this also happens whenever you move too
Even walking requires all that neurological/muscular coordination. Jumping double Dutch rope probably requires even more.
I hate freestyle so much it almost makes me hate swimming. But I'm trying to get my technique as good as possible so i don't hate it as much.
I've been sick and not swimming for 4 days now and I already miss the pool. Third covid shot kicked my butt hard. Uuwuuu I wanna swim 😢
Hope you're feeling better!
I sink like a rock,
Covid :- I got you bro no more pools

Can't understand why smell comes into the equation? I exhale under the water & gulp in air when above.
If only I could see when I'm swimming.
Man, I wish I could swim as good as I did a year ago. Fsr my first time swimming this year I felt sick and out of breath. Maybe it’s because I haven’t moved much but meh
When my eyes sense someone at the end of the lane jumping around with a swim noodle........¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯
Ok but the way most of the swimmers were swimming free wrong tho
Its the same with walking
Anyone interested in swimming from tuticorin???

Yes
Taste is important people.
how do you smell underwater?
Nice
Free style or any stroke 😆
❤wow
It's all fun until you go competitive and do 10 to 12 kms daily. As I am a butterflyer main stroke is just hell for me.
Yeah. I seriously don't understand why people go for lane swim instead of leisure swim.
I am a para swimmer atm I’m in recovery process of epilepsy brain surgery
Wishing you a healthy recovery!
@@FaresKsebati thank you I’m so frustrated because I need the water so bad
I loved, change my life despite my age.
Really
Man I love smelling and tasting the water to help me swim
Hi
0:45
I hate swimming, I used to love it but not too competitively but then I was made to swim in the national team and I hate it now and just want to quit…
Do what makes you happy! If that means stepping away from the sport, that's ok.
Incorporate all five senses? What? That's a weird statement.
I guess the same thing happens when we walk
ya'll are smelling underwater?
I don’t know what your swimming in, but I’ve never needed to smell or taste the water
The smell of chlorine triggers childhood swimming memories.. Be happy😊
@@cristinaarribe2551 too true
I guess he’s saying this to help others feel like they are one with the water. Too cool!🤗
"Incorporating all five senses" children everywhere trying to smell under water. 😂🤢
taste?
Can you smell in the water?
That cake at the end tho
Haha I don't know swim 🤣🤣
This can motivate you to learn.😊
Smell and taste water
