One counter point on smokes: They have a large radius, last a long and all spotting related perks used together are fun. And with how little fun built variety there is, I'd say they're on number 1. Plus they make aiming at heads with iron sights easier than with other sights. But yeah they're the best for spotting. It's a free motion sensor. red enemy = neuron activation
@@just1randomboyo That's fair yeah, personally I hate frags because my ADHD ass doesn't think before he shoots and I'll lose all my armour. But playstyles deffo play a part in rankings.
Flashbangs: Free stuns and human shields. Pairs well with skills that buff damage to stunned/marked enemies. Downside is the stun doesn't last very long making them only effective against a single group of enemies. Smoke: Doesn't stun but can used to mark enemies over a larger area over a longer period of time than flashbangs. They're like sensor beacons but actually useful in loud and can be replenished. I tend to throw them outside doorways I'm defending to get a heads up on squads moving in and use damage buffs against marked enemies to cut them down before the smoke goes away. Grenade: the crayon eater option. Effective in combat but the people who use them typically don't check for civilians before chucking a 'nade, which as someone who invests in hostage skills is very annoying.
The radius of flashbangs as shown by this video is huge, the stun lasts long enough to save a teammate or do an objective if timed right. Did you even watch the video?
Personally, the flashbang is my number one throwable. The main reason is because I can take any stunned cop hostage allowing me to back up, get some shots off, and find a more suitable location to hunker down if I need. Not to mention unlike grenades you'll never have to worry about self damage and the flashbang makes a spectacle out of combat situations!
@@just1randomboyo They are also handy when your level 10 dallas is down and surrounded by SWAT. Pop off a flashbang and you have plenty of time to pick them up! 🤣🤙

Throwing knives are "Oh shi, I need a melee weapon that actually deals damage right now" for me. If stupid Swats block doors or are just to close and melee doesn't do anything. Also Grenades are super fun with the right skills
the reason why you use smokes over flashbangs is that the cloud lasts for like 4 times as long and twice the area of effect as the flash's stun does. you use it specifically to abuse the heal you get from assassin's mettle, because it not only marks the enemies you hit with it but ALSO every enemy that comes along and enters it after the fact. it was SUCH a powerful combo that completely broke the game's difficulty that they severely nerfed the skill to counter it. they're way stronger than you give it credit for, especially considering you gave the crown to the frag grenade which is probably the worst take i've ever heard
Id rather kill shit quick rather than use them for heals. Im someone who plays aggressive and wants to clear out hordes very effectively hence the frag grenade takes the crown
@@just1randomboyo "id rather kill shit quick" is such a bizarre response to me given you highly praised the frag grenade which is in all situations but one (shields) slower, less reliable, and overall worse than just shooting the enemy with your gun. and let me tell ya, buddy, literally nothing in this game allows for a more aggressive playstyle than dropping a smoke and absorbing all the damage the enemy can put out by getting in their faces and popping them for that constant heal. it's the only playstyle that actively REWARDS aggression, as opposed to nades which punishes you actively for being too near to your target
@@jayr.9884 nuh uh! Being aggressive for me is all about going in deep (pause) and killing everything quickly and enduring as much damage as possible. And its why i love hardy with heavy armor because i can play risky without facing too much consequences
frag is good for tight spaces crowded with enemies, which will happen in dirty ice, rock the cradle, and sometimes touch the sky, and is def the best low-investment option for dealing with crowds. but with throwable skills, and the right weapon(s), pretty much any of the other throwables over-shadow it.
@@just1randomboyo hey man i have some bad new for you: if you like going in deep, killing everything quickly, and enduring as much damage as possible, thats literally all the things smokes and adrenaline excel at. it's the only build that actively rewards that behaviour, as opposed to heavy armour which suffers chip damage (exacerbated by frag self damage, natch) and encourages slow and safe play unless you're on low difficulties, which i imagine you must be playing. anyways, peace, good luck with your future objectively incorrect misinformation campaigns, hope you get the subs and get that ad money rolling in
So I use flashbangs with my build because I really like assassin's mettle with death knell as a concept even after the nerf but I think you might be sleeping on the smoke with those two skills because you can use it to temporary lock down a choke point with a wall of health and adrenaline
In my opinion, smoke 'nades are effective in defending crewmates. Sure, I love playing aggressively, but I love supporting them just as much - and I feel like that facet is a tad undervalued in comparison to what people say about marking with Assassin's Mettle. Having a shield build in tandem with the cancer inducers puts a hard stop to SWATs trying to pass, and most of them focusing on you makes it easier for your pals to retaliate.
Trusting or supporting random teammates is my biggest mistake as i get left behind or i do 90% of the objectives myself or im the only one killing and still get blamed... And its why i barely help or support them
@@just1randomboyo Damn. Yeah - that happens. Fucked up, but it happens.
