Thank you Peter. I appreciate your sensitive and thoughtful recounting of that painful day. I too was a camera operator for close to 40 years, so hearing about your choice to put down the camera and pick up your O2 canister was gratifying moment for me. Be well. - Paul

This man is so likeable. His voice is calming, too. He'd be great in hostage situations.

That's the first time I've heard it being described like snowdrifts and blizzards but made from the concrete glass dust water and people ! . It's interesting to hear a camera man's perspective. Thank you it's stuff I've never heard described in this way before.

That day, everyone on the street, walking, was grey.there was no black or white,Brown or yellow.just grey. Humanity changed and became as one color.I wish it could have stayed as one color forever.no separation. Maybe one day.

At first I thought you meant grey from the ash. You are right....no distinction. Everyone was the same and people helped others. So sad it takes tragedies like these for people to come together and respect each other. Stay safe!

I watched another video from an EMT that was working outside the North Tower before the collapse. His job was to triage the people laying on the ground and mark them with the appropriate tag indicating their degree of injury. A black tag indicated deceased. That was the only tag he used. Everyone on the ground was dead.

I appreciate so much hearing the stories of all of the survivors. Every single detail of their stories paint a picture of the struggles that day. I was only 10 playing in the street in the UK when my grandma screamed for me to come in and watch the TV. I had no idea what i was seeing until the second plane crashed and even at such a young age I KNEW this was bad.. this was deliberate. Selfishly I assumed we where next. I can't fathom how painful their memories are, how broken they must be losing their loved ones in such a way. Absolutely heartbroken

So many people willing to help that day. But in the end, less than 20 were saved after the towers collapsed. I will always be moved by the shock of that day.

I find it hard to think that (for at least a short period) there would have been people trapped in the collapse that couldn’t be reached.

I hadn't heard about the Army, but it makes sense. Fighter jets had been scrambled earlier in the day, and it was determined to be an attack. And given the loss of the NYFD. and NYPD, the city needed help for security.

I think because nobody could actually believe that a commercial jet would fly into the World trade Center. Are used to work in lower Manhattan and I never saw any planes that large flying overhead. When I flew in and out of JFK, they came up the side of Manhattan, over the water.

Apparently small planes often flew over the Hudson, and sometimes they flew very low. Plus an airliner that low iver Manhattan on such a clear day seemed unthinkable. So it seemed to be the most likely scenario at the very beginning

Hello from Canada.when the last load of debris was checked for remains,I watched a front end loader scooping up a bucket full of ,looked like Brown dirt. The report added that it was going to be landfill . So many of the victims we're actually cremated ,not only crushed .on September 11, 2021 ..Is there going to be a memorial set up where that debris was spread. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. All the dust on the streets, on the people, probably had a lot of cremation remains of the missing. Is the place a park.plant trees in memory of all the victims and people who are still dying because of 911.when the streets were cleaned up,where did that debris go..A lot was probably washed down the sewers also. Just a thought. Members of my family have been cremated and it is like a grainy dust.

Yes,I read that an autopsy had found several other DNA in lungs. The horror of being crushed, incinerated and turned into dust.... really words fail me. ✨
