Good tutorial thanks, the replacement took me +- a hour. If your planning to do this replacement i have some tips that will make it a lot easier:
1 make sure u have a proper tool to open your phone
2 open the phone from the center of the bottom
3 when the tape holding the battery brakes take a old creditcard and cut a strip of it. Push the strip from the bottom up
4 when placing the new battery first connect the connector. Good luck :)

I broke the screen trying to open the phone. In fact I didn't open it, I just lifted the screen. I hate every single phone manufacturer in the world, including Xiaomi.
Is it necessary to glue the replacement battery? In my opinion, the Redmi 4X is already tight enough to hold the battery in place, but I'm not sure
I love my Redmi 4X, best phone I've ever had but it's almost 4 years old. And can't buy a new one, just because there are no phones like Redmi 4X out there: good modern phones on Android are awful bricks, 6-6.5 inches So, the battery of mine lasts a lot less than before. I hope I can do this replacement soon. Thank you very much for the tutorial.
Yeah... I also have Redmi 4X, which is already more, than 4 years old. Bought it on November 2017. I'm monitoring mobile phone market periodically, and there's almost no phones left, that meet my three main requeirements - 5 inch display, 4000+ mAh battery, and Dual-SIM layout. The smallest screen size, Xiaomi has now, is 5.45 inches - width is the same, but the height has become a bit bigger, and it doesn't suit me at all. Even on 5 inch display my thumb can barely reach the top of the screen...

i agree, phones keep getting stupidly big for no reason, the redmi 4x is already at my hand reach limit and it's the best phone i've had

My phone battery died yesterday. It has swollen😢. I had rooted my phone 2 years ago
Getting that cover off took me 20 minutes. But getting the battery out was the worst part. The sticky strips broke off when I tried to pull them out, so I really had to dig that battery out of there. Ended up smoking quite a bit :0 (the battery is pretty weak and breaks easily when trying to force it out). Finally got everything working in the end though :)

Just did it a second time for this phone. Getting cover off took 20 minutes again but taking battery out was super easy as there wasn't much adhesive left! Didn't even have to take off the bottom black piece this time.

These tapes are almost impossible to remove, but done the battery change in around 20 mins. Thanks for the video! :)
Perfect tutorial video. It took me 20 minutes to replace the battery including reassembly. I used double-sided glue instead of liquid glue. Thank you

Very good tutorial. Except the opening wasn't that easy as it apeared in the video. But my phone works fine with a new battery. The old one started to swell and push the display out of the phone. First I wanted to go to a service but after this video I decided to replace it by my self. So I saved some money. Thanks.

Didn't work for me. Screen separated rather than came out as a complete unit. Phone is now binned but worth a try. Probably waited too long before replacing the battery.

Ciao, ho anche io un Redmi 4X che ormai ha ben 3 anni! La batteria ovviamente non è più quella di un tempo: dopo pochi minuti che lo stacco dal caricatore mi crolla rapidamente al 90% e difficilmente riesco a farci una giornata intera. Secondo me molto dipende anche dagli aggiornamenti software che spremono la batteria del telefono, te che benifici hai avuto cambiando batteria? Hai realmente risolto oppure hai solo leggermente migliorato? Grazie

I've tried this. And it's so damn hard. The screw were too tight and I can't manage to take it out. In the end, I need to go to the repair shop hahahahha.

I want to replace phone battery but my display is broken , so if I open my phone to replace battery, do u think my display will be stopped working?
I managed to disassemble my phone with a part of the bottom left corner broken and several broken lines and managed to not break it any more. I just did every other corner first. Make sure you don't stress the cables too much but even if you opened the phone like a book it shouldn't be a problem. The display should be fine unless it's really broken up I think

the insecured battery may break the connector resulting in it not connecting to the phone I think. The glue holds it in place. Different glue can be most likely used.
