    Performer is Robert Jones with the Choir of St. Bride's Church (1994).

    This lovely piece is the closest Bruckner got to writing a carol. But I have no evidence that he meant it for Christmas.

      @@sgroeger1 True, it normally is a hymn recited at Lauds in the traditional Divine Office, but the second line of that text is "Deum precemur suplices." This was written for (paraphrasing) the Guardian Angels Confraternity using poetry by one of their priests, hence why the second line is "Dignare, custos Angele". Also, the form is different between the two: the Office hymn consists of five four-line stanzas, this eight six-line stanzas.
      This is especially appropriate for Oct 2: Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels.
