The best review I've seen so far of X600. Completely covers my opinion for the new speaker. Thanks and keep up the good work!
You're the man. Finally someone that understands audio that analyses these consumer products. I will keep pressing like until your chains are iced the hell out
i have no chains so thats the good news 😁😁
I’m so glad I bought my two Motion + , £70 each. Excellent sound
I've spent so much time watching reviews on other channels... just to realize that your channel is probably the best.
thats exactly what my mum says 😝
ooh how exciting!! I remember filling out a survey for Soundcore awhile ago regarding a few different design and feature aspects for this speaker.
then we all need to thank you 😁😁👌
Thank you for an unbiased non-sponsored review. I was trying to find even one video that didn't have the same "All opinions are my own" but hit the same talking points as the other 4-5 videos released same day. Loved the demos and the warning about bass and flat stereo sounds.
Yeah its so funny. Every channel i checked is going through the same checklist of talking points they were given 😊 me i just do my own thing, 😁
@@alanrossreviews mate. You did class. Best review on RUclips
@@tenhusho 😁
Yep and that's why they're not giving you the carrots anymore! It's a shame that RUclips has just become nothing but so-called reviewers doing paid hits with no independent analysis whatsoever. It's just as bad with IEMs where RUclips celebrities are now using their own branding which is made the conflicts of interest all the more ridiculous.
I love the design. Im sure it sounds very nice in person. Great work Alan. 👍 I feel like this one is kinda a more elegant look. I dig it.
not perfect but nice with some eq adjustment.
good to see you again with a soundcore video =)
it had to happen 😁
Thank you for what seems to be the only review, so far, of the X600 that is balanced and down to earth!
All of the other reviewers seem to ignore the fact there are other speakers which may not be quite as good, but cost half as much.
I do like the appearance of this speaker, but it doesn't sound to me as if it is worth £200, when the Motion plus can be bought for less than half that price. Sounds like an interesting proposition at £130 to £150.
Thanks again for another practical, thorough and informative review.
yup thats how is ee the long term price, about £120
HEY HO! great job, nice rewiew. stay strong alan!
good advice 😁👍
wow nice job anker soundcore...still my favourite portable speaker brand
Is it just me or does it sound more clearer and detailed? Quite like this speaker for more casual and hifi music listeners! Good to hear it supports LDAC codec! Cheers Alan!
Thats what it offers, clear detailed sound in spatial mode.
I got mine today. I have had the motion boom. I currently have the motion boom plus, tribit and now x600. I actually love the look of it. They clearly did good with esthetics. Sound wise its sharp. The bass is actually impressive. Not crazy but noticable to make the sound experience just about right. I love it so far. It just feels small and right to me.
You’re amazing! Your review/comparisons are SO helpful, especially because I own the Boom & Motion Plus, both of which I love! I have two Motion pluses, which is really cool! I am going to get the Boom Plus, but this review at least gave me a lot to think about! The Boom Plus sounds full, and still detailed, (even though it is a harsh listen to you). I totally get all of your points, as far as trying to fix their relative sounds. Thanks again bro! 🙏🏽🎶🖤💪🏽🎵❤️‼️
enjoy whatever you end up with 👍👍👍👍
Just got done watching other reviews of the X600 in actual knowledge no one comes close. Wish there were more people like us🙏
we are the champions 👌 what was the consensus on the other reviews?
Well pretty much was the repeated thing 40Khz super clear,no distortion at all at maximum volume in all modes, deep rich bass, best speaker they tested. And they was saying on how the spatial audio makes a huge difference which it does in sound quality but implementing on how stereo mode is already good and emphasizing or selling the spatial audio feature to get more people to buy it instead of actually explaining on what it's doing. But 2 of them was pretty ok to watch and the others I just got annoyed because it was just a ad pretty much. And to a degree I can cut them some slack since testing speakers isn't there thing but if your getting paid ig you have to sell out on the speaker to. Being nicer or pulling some punches while getting the point across is the most I have done for handed out units. If I was to get paid I don't want to strip myself of that future people come to watch my reviews about or I just be another ad
That spatial mode sounds so good!
for 10 minutes imho
Another great video Alan!
thank you 👌
@@alanrossreviews the differences are quite noticable. If I would buy one, I'd be the motion boom plus. Like my opinion always is, if you want great sound to listen to indoors, just buy a tower stereo system. Outside you have too much noise to be actually capable of listening to Hifi sound so you're better off just having a speaker that has more power (to overcome noise and distance) than one that can't but has better fidelity. Since that fidelity will still be lost.
have you ever tried taking your tower system into the shower? 🤣
@@alanrossreviews HAHAHAHA mate I'd be down for that
Thank you for saving me $150. After watching your video I realized how much I like my Motion Boom.
Have you tried the tozo pa1. I think it's pretty decent for $40. It's basically a soundlink flex clone with an eq app.
Alan Ross.
Which one is louder?
JBL Boombox 2 or JBL Partybox Encore?
My brother bought the JBL Partybox Encore, but JBL Boombox 2 has louder mids and highs for some reason.
Do we need to update JBL Partybox Encore to the latest firmware version or what should we do?
When i tested it the encore was on a par with bb3 so i assume about same as bb2 as well. Depends on how you perceive loudness of course. Peak or lufs? 🤔
Really LOVE all the videos. 👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
it would be a shocker if you ever slaughtered me 😁😁
Just got mine sounds great!
Spatial or normal?
Spatial for me sounds way better
yup my view too, i dont think they even tried to make stereo sound decent. they wanted to make the spatial seem way better.
Be interested to see how they improve and update this new speaker.
I'd consider it to replace my motion boom (og) if its better.
no this doesnt do deep bass. Its an upgrade to the motion plus but will never be a replacement for boom or boom plus.
Alan, I'm curious on your thoughts of the edifier qd35.
I don't need another speaker, and this one loos far from portable, but it looks so damn cool to me...
no battery right? so not portable at all. looks like a lifestyle machine 😁
Thanks for another great review Alan. I'm really curious about pairing two of them in spatial mode in stereo.
yup, not sure how the dsp would handle that.
@@alanrossreviews You mean spatial audio may be disabled during pairing two ?
i mean the processing would in theory need to change to take into consideration the new configuration. if not i wonder if the stereo effect would be missing.
Man, I was on vacation down in mexico and a few of us were out on in the water with my motion boom in the inflatable float thing that holds it and so many people came up asking what the speaker was. That darn thing is still a stunner and I think still my personal pound (empirical weight measurement) for pound (monetary unit) world champion!
Yes its still a top performer value wise but i tend to grab the blast before the boom.
@@alanrossreviews I could see that. I grab the Encore or Boom Box 2 over the Boom for sure if I am heading out to the back yard.
Traveling by plane though? That's Motion Boom territory all day! Well, also if I need a speaker out on the water.
@@0525ohhwell two booms, one of each side of you on the beach and a crafty spliff and heaven is not far away 😁
Hey mr ross, hope you are ok nice review, and bice speaker's, greetings
me ok, hope you ok 2 😁
Alan, which of the mid sized portable bluetooth speakers do you like the best, regardless of price? I have liked the Motion Plus as a jazz listener.
Have you checked my top picks in my video description?
Gotta say I like the design, a nice step up from all that plastic. Soundwise hope they refine the bass, but otherwise its sounds nice and clean, just doesn't dig deep enough for me to get excited. Great job Alan, thank you once more 🙏🔥
you can get some decent bass by dropping everything above 150hz by 2-3db. thats how im using it right now. they clearly went for volume over bass.
Doesn't that make the vocals and string instruments sound distorted.
@@rubric_ra why would it 😂
no the opposite actually. it gives more relative bass while reducing the overdrive that i hear on mine at louder volumes.
@@beeswax7825 even I don't have the answer to that.
Also I have heard that the w-king t11 has bad battery life at High volume what do you know is it really bad and what at about like 40/50 percent is it ok
Have you by chance done any tests on the aux input latency?
This is the#1 thing us musicians need to know about these little speakers, it's so hard to find.
Thanks for the great review!
did you watch the video??? right there when i do the specs!
"The same people that are gonna buy that (motion boom plus) are not gonna buy that (x600)." Thanks, Alan, for not giving me any more buyers remorse. I ordered a motion boom plus before discovering your channel and regretted not getting the motion boom instead. It will arrive within the coming days and I'm hopeful it IS my type of listen and I will love the speaker anyway.
no need for remorse anyway, the plus and the x600 compliment the boom and boom plus rather than challenge them. You have two options for bass driven tracks and two options now for analytical multi genre listening 👌
You totally nailed it, your choice of buying the Motion Boom Plus over the Motion Boom. I have both, and the Motion Boom Plus is way better.
Had both montio boom and boom +. Ended up selling boom +, and motion boom is now my daily driver. I love it. 10k mah battery is brilliant! Im charging it once every few days. I also have few smaller speakers, and some bigger party speaker but love my motion boom most! Always with me in the kitchen, living room or my garden!
And forgot to add that for me the size is perfect! Not to small not too big, just perfect! And the sound for its size is fabulous!
Hey Alan. Which Bluetooth speaker has the best stereo separation? Love your channel ❤
you wont get much soundstage from any of them unless you use a pair and separate them out.
The X600 is a pretty good speaker as I have the motion plus and it sound really good especially with the eq and it's the speaker that competes in both midsize and large class speakers, and with movies the motion plus is amazing, as the x600 it seems like it is basically the same in sound which is really good.
ys very much along the lines of the m+ but bigger and more open sounding.
@@alanrossreviews yeah true, they should add party cast to the motion plus tbf.
Great video Alan, thanks, I have bose soundlink flex, and i like the sound a lot, which one of these bigger speakers with the similar/better to soundlink flex sound would you recommend ?
motion boom 👍
@@alanrossreviews Thank you for advice!
Thanks for the review. I wish it was also a smart speaker
Congrats on all the Reviews! I recently bought a motion boom, and it came with firmware 0.44, did you ever receive that firmware? Respect from Brazil
Not yet!
Thanks for the only real review on this product right now.
Bummer that the X600 doesn't support PartyCast 2.0. It would be a nice addition to my Motion Boom Plus for outdoor partys and for indoor it would be an upgrade in single use...
There's always a downside 🤣
Hey man,, 👍👍
I follow your videos and I've always been curious.
What is your favorite speaker, regardless of cost?
Ive not tried any of the more expensive ones so i cant say at any cost. My fav depends on use scenario. See the speakers on the table of my best speaker 2023 video.
Did you try the Full-Band option on the custom eq?, it looks pretty dope, i have never seen that before on any bluetooth audio device, i wonder how good that new custom eq is, and if that could actually make it sound better or not
Great video btw, i saw a X600 thumbnail of a video from another channel in my youtube feed, so i didn't open that video and went straight to your channel instead lol
Thanks for the high level videos ✌
good job, keep up the good work 😁
to be honest no, i just used the normal interface without trying that feature. i guess thats another one for a future video.
Motion plus, motion boom, motion boom plus, motion bang pow wam bam. I need this now.
So far, for me, you are my go-to-guy for Bluetooth Speaker Reviews - I almost always check your channel first to see if you have a review of a speaker that I am interested in! That said, I am confused about your spec sheet on the Motion Boom Plus - about 10 or 11 months ago the your youtube lag measurement was at about 33ms (one of your best scores, if not your best score for a bluetooth speaker); now, however, I see that your score has increased to about 116ms - can you please explain what’s happening here?? Btw, I am very pleased that you, at least, give this some attention in your reviews, as this matters considerably to me!
being human i am prone to f*^kups 🤣 for a short period of time i switched my test video to a new one. I should have checked it first but it didnt ocur to me that a well used sync test video would actually be out of sync 🤦♀️ truly the audio was out of sync with the visuals. i switched back to my old test clip and re-did all my tests.
The x600 once updated firmware comes along as it always does around release , need to do battle with two Motion +. Game on ! 👊🏻
Yes thats going to be the biggest issue for the x600 if they stick with the price currently. You can get two motion pluses for the same money.
Great Job alan!!!. Hey buddy not sure what phone ya use or if ya still have your insmy speakers but got 2 new ones they're doin same thing cuttin in and out when I play music and playing thru my samsung s23 ultra connected one of my sons samsung tabs to them they play flawlessly connected my wife's iPhone 13 max it plays flawlessly so somethin isn't right amd weird thing is is I have like 10 other audio products earbuds headphones speakers none of them have any issue when I connect to them..... needless to say ima prolly sell em or give to someone who can't afford em
yeah i still have mine but havent used it in a long time. it didn't cut out on my s10 plus.
Alan I never really see anyone comment on your editing in your videos. You are amazing at cutting together a great HONEST review with tracking to back it up. Thanks to you I own 2 motion booms!
What do you think about reviewing the Soundcore Boom 2 once it comes out?? CES 24 said it's 60W, has lights (Party woo), and 17hrs of battery life.
Anyway appreciate you mate and hope you return when the time is right!!
yeah on a long break and not getting the mojo back yet but im committed to a new tribit speaker mid march so may be i will see how i feel then. from what ive heard so far the boom 2 seems more of a w-king type upper bass machine than the classic deeper bass of the boom. but im sick of reviewing soundcore speakers 😆😆 thanks for your comment, appreciated.
I am using the upgraded version of Soundcore boost right now. Do you recommend upgrade to motion x600?
there is some hype about this speaker right now, it has potential as a clear open airy speaker but i think its more niche than mainstream.
Sounded way better than the Motion+ at low volumes. Curious to see how it compares against the Uboom L or Stockwell 2.
i would prefer the x600 IFFF using custom eq and reducing mids and highs to fill out the bass for louder volumes.
How does this speaker sound compared to the Tribit StormBox Blast especially level stability and deep bass. And also the highs, does it sound harsh like Motion Boom Plus? Would you also recommend for outdoor?
Stormbox Blast is like 3 times bigger, in bass it won't be injured by such a small speaker
this is a speaker for hearing details, its not a boombox, not even close. I can see other reviews have overhyped this speaker. I like it, its similar to the motion plus but for me nicer but at a high price.
Is there any way of correcting the latency on the soundcore motion boom? When watching RUclips or films, the audio does not line up with the picture. Just wondered if it was likely to be fixed? Or is that just the way it is?
By the way, I bought the motion boom having watched your in depth reviews Alan. Your videos are the best on RUclips by far for honest reviews of these speakers! Great channel 👍🏼
yes depending on your device, you are looking for audio delay settings.
Another great video as always Alan🤩🤩 Watched the video when it first dropped, but forgot to leave my thoughts.
1. The Motion Boom and plus are still classics even in 2023.
2. The Soundcore Motion X600 sounds great, but not something I would personally get. I like my speakers more on the bass heavy side.
3. Alan Ross is the best speaker reviewer on RUclips.
wondered what happened to you, all good now 😁👍
@@alanrossreviews Ha!
I knew something didn’t quite feel right, and then remembered I ain’t comment on this video yet. Things are back to normal now 😎😎
I think the best I have tried is the hk go plus play with the treble raised up with EQ. The bass is great and the highs pulled up has a really good presence sound.
Yes its still a player for sure
Greetings and thanks for the review! Can you name any competitor to Soundcore Motion Plus in terms of stereo (for movies and games), sound quality and its size ?
nope! its pretty unique
@@alanrossreviews God bless you and Motion Plus! 🙏
Thanks for the review, but why is x600 bass OFF , when comparing against the boom?
Because i used custom on the x600 and bass on sounds horrible to my ears, like its badly overdriven. My custom eq pushes the bass and also reduces mids and highs to provide more relative bass.
Does the X600 sound alive like marshall speakers?
I like the more elegant design choice of the Motion+ and 600. Wish they could make the bass somewhere in the middle between the booms and the others. Seems like it's for different segments.
Lastly, the sound differential between stereo and spatial seems like it's exemplified for spatial. Almost marketing for spatial technology instead of a proper showing for both stereo and spatial.
yup that was my thoughts on the stereo mode.
One thing I forgot to mention is I have to go into developer options in my phone every time to select ldac otherwise it defaults to sbc
Sounds like a bug, if you set it in the app it sticks for me
What would be your recommendations for speakers around the 150 price mark
tribit stormbox blast
Hi Alan, beautiful review.
Do you think Is a Better choice this x600 for 200€ or a pair of uboom l for likes 120€. The spatial audio is Better than a simple 2 way? Thanks!
hum, well i havent tried that out yet, it might be a close call also against two motion pluses. the x600 will have more punch than the ubooms though.
First of all, thanks for the answer.
Otherwise Is a bad idea pair the uboom l whit a more bass focused speaker (like the Sony xb40 that i already have)?
I risk of having an unbalanced sound?
why not just get a pair on motion booms then? the x600 is all upper bass punch, no real deep bass
I think your opinion of this speaker is very accurate. I have had it for a couple weeks and had to really tweek the eq. Pulled up the bass and have the two highest treble frequencies up a tiny bit to get that presence sound. I like a good prescece region but this speaker sounds overdone and artificial in my opinion. I have been comparing it to two b and o a1 2nd generations and I prefer the b and o speakers slightly which you can get now for around $130 a piece but its a pain in the butt pairing them every time. I would be interested in a review where you compare the x600 vs two a1 2nd gens for those out there who like high mids and treble over bass.
I sold my a1 2nd gen. Much prefer 1st gen but i only have one.
Still rocking the Motion +
And still havent feel tempted to upgrade yet. But this X600 seems like a totally New direction from Soundcore 👍
yup, with some better tuning or a better passive rad this would have been a real alternative to the head banging speakers.
Nice everything everything profile picture! 👍
What software do you use for the frequency visualisation?
he use rew
Bought 2 units of the motion boom.... That's the sweet spot.
For bass lovers yes
Is this enough of an improvement to purchase over the motion + (considering the early bird $50 coupon)?
The question really is....... Is this worth two motion pluses.? It does sound better than the m+ but needs tweaking to avoid being too bright at higher volumes. Its also a more in yer face listen which can be tiring.
@@alanrossreviews nothing a little EQ can’t fix 😉
I like music and I like to hear it in stereo with good channel separation, but HEY HO! what's the point of putting a speaker in the middle mixing the two stereo channels to reduce its effectiveness? It seems like a contradiction to me... so I still prefer my two motion booms in TWS :)
Thanks, Alan, for letting us know about this new Soundcore set!
To give an upward firing driver to give the illusion of more height information.
May I ask a question Wich has nothing to do with the video but can you connect multiple devices to the t11 by w-king
i believe at least 2.
@@alanrossreviews oh perfect thank you very much I will go and by that thing now (hopefully)
Hey, X600 or Doss Soundbox XL? I like the strong bass on Soundbox XL but I feel it's a bit outdated now. What should I go for?
X600 is a niche speaker, its about crispy sound and sort of adequate bass. Very different sound to the doss
That sure sounds like inadequate bass for me 😅 thanks you for the info :)
I'd love to get my hands on one if it's available in my country.
its always a slow roll out......build up demand first... 🤦♂️
Thanks for the review, could you comment on marshall emberton 2 and Middleton?
Neither work for me
@@alanrossreviews thank for your opinion
I JUST bought 2 motion boom+ (really, they were delivered 2 days ago) now they're offering me 50$ off the X600 so basically same price.....should I return the boom+ and switch or you think is not worth it? Yeah ok one is "spatial sound" the other isn't however the boom+ in TWS (2 channels) works pretty well.....thoughts? Thank you!!
EDIT OK next time FIRST I watch the full video THEN I comment LOL I'm at 22:23 and listening through both my boom + to you comparing them to X600 and no way I'll return them. The bass coming out of the + is on a different league than the X600. Thanks again for this. I just saved myself 2 headaches...the first returning mine and the second when I'd found out the X600 are not that spectacular, after all....at least not for me :)
i would take 2x booms over the x600 because i like warm bass, the x600 is for detail not bass. you can get very punchy bass from the x600 but to my ears it sounds nasty and i wouldnt use it with spatial till high volumes where you might need it. at this stage the x600 is fiddly because it changes quite a bit with volume.
@@alanrossreviews Yep, totally agree!! Thanks for the review!
Alan what is the best speaker for vocals? Especially male vocals that I like to sound detailed, rich and full? Plz give some recommendations or the closest recommendations.
its hard to say something is great for vocals other than if they are well forward of the speaker as it may be as a result of a boost in that area or lack of bass. and it depends on the type of music, a soloist vs lead singer of a heavy rock band will present differently. what budget?
@alanrossreviews I have to be honest and say that I listen to pure vocal recitation with hardly any instruments. Soo I want pure vocal performance that is forward, detailed and natural as possible. With most speakers they sound recessed with vocals on my content so I want more of a hifi type tuning that specialises on vocals. Also I listen to a lot of podcasts and debates so the best vocal performance is essential for me. If you can give me some recommendations upto £300 that would be great. 👍
is there anything you have heard that is sort of what you like? i guess you need something strong in upper bass and lower mids where the male voice comes through.
@alanrossreviews Yes I like how the motion plus sound with male vocals when when I tune the bass sliders halfway. It gives male vocals naturalness but at the expense of detail. In otherwords I need something similar to the motion plus with better clarity and detail. More detail and naturalness to the voices without sounding thin. Flat eq motion plus sounds a touch thin for male vocals.
Do you think uboom L or soundcore x600 would be better for my tastes or is the motion plus the best for overall male vocals? Would love your speaker recommendation for me.
Also vocal recitation I listen to is pure singing with no instruments like how a religious preast would sing.
@@nabilchoudhury7359 x600 might be for you but with x.2.1 firmware
I think the X600 sounds better than the + on your comparison for sure. I really appreciate your review being honest and technically comparing the different speakers, I too watched several others that were identical and all sounded scripted which is no help! How do you think the X600 compares to other brands like the Bose Soundlink Mini II which is a similar price? I did pay the £1 to get the X600 for £149.99 today but I am not 100% sure that it is what I will end up going with. Are there any other speakers at this price point you think are worth considering?
tribit stormbox blast is my choice for the money. x600 is a different kind of listen, its more aimed at the non heavy bass loving analytical listening crowd.
@Alan Ross Reviews thanks for replying Alan! I just watched your comparison of the tribit and the JBL, when I pull the trigger ill use your link! I'm also looking for a slightly smaller speaker to take in hand luggage on planes, not too much smaller than the ones we have been discussing, but I think these may be a bit large, do you have a reccomendation for best speaker that would be suitable for that kinda thing?
@@dommayes smaller for me means motion boom (not plus) or soundlink flex for even smaller based on me liking a warm sound signature.
@@alanrossreviews thank you! Appreciate it
Hey Alan, I know this is a old topic, but would you like to give Uboom L one more chance by using 0.4.3 version? I heard people said that is the best version, your spectrum analysis is really useful to see the differences. X600 seems like got beaten by it's lil bro.
0.4.3, 0.4.5 and 0.4.8 all sound the same
@@ThibautMahringer I don't know, I don't have two Uboom L to ABX test, so that's why I want Alan to do it since he could make a graph of them.
@@pokketato3002 You don't want to test the firmwares on two different speakers due to sample variations, two speakers can't sound 100% identical
@@ThibautMahringer I understand there is variation problem, and Alan get the ability to make a frequency response of two versions to see if there is any differences bewteen 0.4.3 and the others, he just did it in his last Uboom L video with 0.3.6 and 0.4.5.
@@pokketato3002 You're right. But Oluv said that these updates all sound the same so I guess that doesn't encourage Alan to test any further.
Personally, I did every update and didn't find any sound difference between all three versions. Only 0.5.0 sound different for obvious reasons.
29:25 they made it through a firmware update or just a different hardware or so ?
firmware tuning update
Ldac sounds great on my Liberty pro ear buds. It does drain the battery fast as the tradeoff of for that extra punch!!🤔🤫😬 Their new offering sounds very clear. I like clear with less 💥.
yup thats why they have this as default codec, to save on battery.
In this genre of products (doesn’t have to be soundcore), bluetooth speakers, what is your favorite?
Best value for me is the stormbox blast
@@alanrossreviews thank you. I had been looking for a review that’s critical of the soundcore x600, glad i found this review.
So the X600 was 1 of the 3 speakers they were going to release this year. To me it has potential to be a nice speaker but it's not a wow factor it's just cool and unique. I'll review it if they want to send it over once I het back to RUclips. I wonder if there going to make a real Boombox this year 🤔
have you asked them? it seems to have been given out to the larger channels so i guess i got lucky with this one, i was actually asking for the rave neo 🤣
@@alanrossreviews lol nope. My vision within the last 2 weeks dropped down again. So that's also the reason why i haven't been posting stuff on the community tab from the strain levels. so after the Halo 100 review and stormbox blast, and Soundynamic Twinkles I really can't do anymore videos until my eyes get better
Alan this one's looking good, we need that acoustic crispiness. 50 watts is the sweet spot. I can't see anything near this at the moment.
Will depend on the volume you play. In current firmware definitely better at moderate volumes.
I wonder how this speaker would compare to the Denon home 250
Quite different in size
I've changed my mind after I watched your video. Thanks Alan for saving my $150. You're the best Bluetooth speakers reviewer on RUclips 👍
what made you change your mind?
Spatial Audio, no test with (Flavour of last few months) Dolby Audio tracks that supposedly the speaker was designed for ?
Lol, where you get that from? This upmixes stereo it doesnt decode dolby ffs
Sr I have two uboom L. Is one x600 loud enough to match two ubooms?ty
i have not tried this
It is louder and clearer
why you dont use the full band eq?
I spent enough time on the pre release, i will wait for final firmware before getting deeper into it.
I'm coming back to this, the king x600 review.. I like the bass but loses that top end clarity particularly when you listen to the tone of the snare drum. I can great bass punching through with the x600 , it doesn't sound restricted. But I love this review, looking forward to another one. Good job Alan.
The bass is a matter of taste on this one, its very punchy but not deep and easily gets out of control.
Just received it today, tweaked it up and it's turned out very nice. Spotify seems to play a nice res. Nice bass balance , in fact across the board. Soundcore have done a good one here 👍
what speaker would you recommend for jazz
stockwell 2?
Sony Xg-300 or soundcore X600? Your opinion? . Both 200$ right now
never heard the sony. sorry
Is it possible to pair two of these x600 in stereo?
Yes
It seems like the X600 is Soundcore's answer to the Marshall Middleton. I'd be very curious to hear how these compare.
I think the mk2 middleton is tuned for bass while the x600 favours clarity and detail
Watched this earlier this morning (approximately 4am :p) from what I heard, the X600 sounds rather nice and eventually I'll most likely pick one up but for now I'll stick with my 2 Motion Booms :)
It can sound nice but for me needs tweaking. And the bass boost is overdone for spatial mode. But i like it its just that its another that could have been better.
@@alanrossreviews True true
What is the best? Motion X600 or Onyx Studio 8?
o8
I'm very content with my motion+ in the kitchen at work, but it's shocking how dogshit they both sound in recordings on my Meze 109 Pro headphones. Do you think there's a worthwhile upgrade from the motion+ when pushing higher volumes? Perhaps later down the line with firmware improvements
you need to be paying a lot more for a speaker favouring detail over boom or v shape tuning, thats the problem.
@@alanrossreviews I think the recording setup is just quite unrepresentative of my real world experience. I'll wait for more impartial reviews from customers before commuting to such an incrimental upgrade along with possible refinements from user feedback. I don't expect hifi results but I value the soundstage the motion+ has over the tribit it replaced. I wonder how it compares to something like the old denon envaya dsb-250bt which probably has the same target audience.
Despite the Spatial mode, Motion+ seems to have wider sound stage through headphones. Am I hearing wrong?
For me, the Motion X600 is a disappointment. It would be so cool if they would finally make a speaker like the H/K Go+Play, only with updated technology (aptX or LDAC, custom EQ ...).
32:54 → You nailed it! The Motion Boom should have tweeters, and then it would be an almost perfect speaker (at least for me).
yes in real life the x600 sounds bigger but m+ more focussed,
@@alanrossreviews Have you tried "full band EQ"? That seems like a pretty good thing. It would be nice if it could be transferred to other Soundcore speakers (unfortunately it won't, experience tells me so ...)
@@elmarflat728 im not spending too much time tweaking till firmware settles
I think Soundcore is kind of losing their rep as a bang for buck budget king. Not to say they don't still have great products and top notch support but it seems like their prices have been creeping higher and it's not the jaw dropping value as compared to the other brands anymore. I'm sure they will continue to improve the X600 with firmware updates but I doubt it's one I'll be picking up unless/until there is a significant sale or price drop. That said, I do think the build quality is a nice step up along with the LDAC and spatial feature. Thank you for another excellent review and comparison, Alan! 😁👍👏
its the way, build a base on value with low profit margin and then use that to drive higher margin speakers.
алан, а когда будет тестирование rave neo 2?
не могу достать один еще.
Can anyone explain what is the exact speaker setup? Does it have passive radiators?
I Went through all this in the video, yes rear passive
@@alanrossreviews Ah sorry. Thank you. They did not include this info in the official site. Very disappointing.
This is the only person I trust carte blanche for speaker reviews
Thank you 👍
Actually sometimes stereo mode with some eq is better sounding (not that bright with old firmware)
well i never really bothered with it since they tuned it so dull to make spatial audio sound better. the upward driver makes everything inconsistent for me. it would be fine if it actually supported dolby atmos over wifi but of course it doesnt 🤣🤣
@@alanrossreviews well with this full band eq you can bring stereo mode to a nice level that sounds pretty natural and quite close to original recording (atleast on my unit 🤣)
@@DominikReviews so much for spatial audio then 😅😅
Why can't they add Lc3 codec instead of sbc or ldac cause it has Bluetooth 5.3 any reason ??
They never discussed this with me 😢
Who knows but ldac is better than lc3 since lc3 is a better version of SBC not by a lot
If you could pick only one, which would you?
motion boom original
which one sounds better, Onyx Studio 8 or this boy?
lol! i cant listen to this
@@alanrossreviewscan you listen to Onyx?
What about the best bang for the buck this year, the Soundcore (120W) Rave Party 2 (USA)? It's $199, and for me, hit the golden mean between the Rave+ (160W) and the Rave Partycast (80W). It slaps, but it's actually portable, unlike the Rave+!!! The only downsides are it's IPX4 downgrade as well as it's 16 hour battery life which actually feels more like 8 hours but for the price and performance, it's still acceptable.
yup, its another one id like to try one day.
i buyed 1euro coupon i cant wait for it
🤣
