Summary(Important Points) S. Yusuf: 52, 53 Her Words or His
ذَٰلِك لِيَعْلَمَ أَنِّى لَمْ أَخُنْهُ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لا يَهْدِى كَيْدَ ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ "That is so he will know that I did not betray him in [his] absence and that Allah does not guide the plan of betrayers." Yusuf 12, Ayah 52. 1. This Ayah has been debated as to who spoke these words, there are two people who could have said these words - Yusuf(AS) or the wife of the minister. 2. If it is Yusuf(AS) who said this then it means "I re-opened this invistigation so that the king could know that I didn't betray the Minister in the Minister's absence". 3. It seems that Yusuf(AS) knows that he(AS) is about to become a minister, but to be put in that position, he(AS) has to assure the king that he(AS) is loyal to him or else, the king can feel insecure and get doubts about him(AS). And if he(AS) is being questioned all the time, he(AS) won't be able to manage the crisis and many people would die out of famine and drought. He(AS) wants to impress the king that he(AS) can be trusted and is qualified to do the work. 4. A good employee is someone who can be trusted and is qualified to do the work. وَمَآ أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِىٓ إِنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌۢ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّ رَبِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ "And I do not acquit myself. Indeed, the soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." Yusuf 12, Ayah 53. 5. Yusuf(AS) is telling people not to make him(AS) flawless, just because he(AS) didn't do this mistake, doesn't mean that he(AS) doesn't have temptation. 6. The word "AMMARAH" has a repetitive meaning. It means "it commands to do evil again and again", it never stops commanding. 7. And then there are occasions when Allah puts a special kind of "RAHMA" inside a person that stops them from doing evil, this kind of "RAHMA" comes because that person has done something good that Allah likes. 8. After that, there is "Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful". Here, he(AS) is giving "DA'WAH" to the king. He(AS) is telling that even if they did take the wrong road, Allah is still forgiving and merciful. 9. This can also be said to the cup bearer like "Don't feel ashamed, I'm also not perfect, you are still alive, ask forgiveness and you will be fine." 10. If the minister's wife said the words in the previous Ayah, it means "Let him know that he doesn't have to fear any wrong from me, I have left all that evil and I have learnt my lesson." 11. Sometimes, people go on a wrong road and then they realize that they are on the wrong road but, instead of going back to the right road, they go on the wrong road because "they have already come this far, why go back again?" 12. This woman did something that many people don't do, she admitted her mistake publicly without caring about the consequences, without caring about how people will see her. She did this because she did harm to someone else. 13. Fearing Allah is very hard when you are going to make people upset. 14. Then in Ayah 53 she says that she has let go of the obsession that people should see her as the victim and everyone else as the predator. She says that she is not innocent, that she has to keep fighting that the bad thing inside her and that it is because Allah's "RAHMA" that she is able to fight it. 15. She turns to Allah after that and says that "Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." She slandered a Prophet, she caused a Prophet harm, yet she is hopeful that Allah will forgive her and Allah recorded this in the Qur'an. We should take hope from this. 16. "TAWBA"(Repentance) is asking Alllah for forgiveness, walking away from sins and then not considering yourself as 'cursed being'. If it is a sin against another person then ask for their forgiveness and ask Allah for His forgiveness. 17. Sometimes, Allah will put a believer in a situation where they understand where people stand in their life and where Allah stands in his life. 18. From a natural language point of view, the repeated "I" shows that it is the wife of the minister speaking. 19. The opinion that Yusuf(AS) is the speaker is possible because in the Qur'an has transitions. 20. You don't have to choose one of the views as it can be a duality too. This ends the summary. Assalamualaikum wr wb. I am leaning towards the "woman who is speaking" side. Yusuf AS thrown into prison not because he was guilty but because he was inconvenient to his master. Therefore he doesn't need to say "so my master knows that I didn't do anything wrong while he was away" his master knew he's innocent from the get go.

Two things can exist simultaneously. It’s a miracle of Allah SWT. Think of the double slit experiment, perhaps it has merit in understanding Allah’s beautiful creation more deeply. The signs of Allah SWT are in everything and are everywhere. If you read this, please ask Allah SWT to grant me, you and our families and all of our future children to exist (by Allah’s will and Rahm and Bounties) and all Muslims protection from all his Adhaab, adhaab in this dunya, adhaab of the grave, of jahanaam and make us the inheritors of Jannatul Ferdaws without Hisaab and kitaab. The Turkish translations have always exposed these words as belonging to her. I have read this surah with that logic for years. When you read these ayat from her mouth it has a profound confession and expression of regret, understanding and repentance.

I’m not angrily demanding he fix the issues, he doesn’t owe us anything but if the purpose of these videos is to educate then of course trying to fix any issues that make the tafseer hard to follow is only logical. I know he went out of his way to get a new mic which is why I’m asking if he’s sure it was even connected. There’s a brief mention of the parallel back to Musa(AS)’s story which reminded me of the first few episodes of this series. Is there a plan to explain the significance of the parallel? I’m not making the connection as to why there would be a parallel as described by the first few episodes between the 2 stories

Assalamu'alaikum. While this mostly has been an enlightening experience, I have some questions: 1) Did Yusuf (ES) had the knowledge of the unseen (illmil-gaib)? According to my understanding of NAK's talk he's able to forsee he'll be assigned a high position in the govt? 2) Outside of dreams, did Yusuf (ES) get revelations from Allah (SWT)? 3) NAK mentioned that Egyptians at the time didn't see Yusuf (ES) as a prophet of Allah (SWT), then how did the minister's wife realize that he is? It's confusing because Yusuf (ES)'s prophet hood comes to light when he's propagating the message of Allah (SWT) to the two guys in the jail, the Quran states this clearly, however he hasn't mention of Allah (SWT) while in the minister's house. The closest we get when he's about to get molested by the minister's wife and says "my master" which NAK interpreted as maybe the minister or it could be Allah (SWT). 4) If the minister's wife was truly remorseful about her actions even before the king's inquiry then why did she say "Now the truth (is) manifest"? It sounds like, well the cat's out of the bag so I have to confess now. 5) If the minister's wife has converted to Islam, as NAK suggests because she mentions Allah, then does that mean all those other women had converted too, because they also say "Allah forbid"? That's a lot of conversations taking place while Yusuf (ES)'s in jail. Hopefully my questions would be answered insha'Allah.

They say: We come from Your servants upon the earth who had been glorifying You (reciting Subhan Allah), uttering Your Greatness (saying Allah o-Akbar) and uttering Your Oneness (La ilaha ill Allah) and praising You (uttering al-Hamdu Lillah) and begging of You. Be would say: What do they beg of Me? They would say: They beg of You the Paradise of Your. He (God) would say: Have they seen My Paradise? They said: No, our Lord. He would say: (What it would be then) if they were to see Mine Paradise? They (the angels) said: They seek Your protection. He (the Lord) would say: Against what do they seek protection of Mine? Verse 52 cannot be said by Yusuf because he is not present . He is still in prison . Indeed in verse 54 the king asks to take him out of jail and bring him. Verse 52 is told by the wife of al Aziz

1)Yusuf AS became the minister. He was given a lot of responsibility. 2) Al Aziz bought him from the people who found him in the well. 3)Allah does not mention if he married that women.

Great Questions. Allah(Swt) in his absolute wisdom and knowledge has not mentioned this in the Quran. Every letter, word, story; is there in the Quran to guide mankind to the straight path till the day of judgement. If Allah has not mentioned that, then probably Allah does not want us to focus on that detail, which probably had no purpose( according to Allah) in guiding mankind towards the straight path.

Matt 21: 15-16, Matt. 28 : 8-9, 17-20, Luc 24: 50-53 Jesus explains why he accepts worship in John 5: 21-23 ...all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father… So, Jesus is not a mere prophet. Did Allah lead people in Qur´an 5: 47 to a corrupt book? 600 years later Muhammad comes along and says Yahsua is not the son of God, not a part of the Trnity, not divine, a prophet of Allah, did not die on a cross, was not resurrected, that Allah is a father to no one (see 5:18; 19:88-93; and 21:26) and this proofs Muhammad is a false prophet.

Summary(Important Points)
S. Yusuf: 52, 53 Her Words or His
ذَٰلِك لِيَعْلَمَ أَنِّى لَمْ أَخُنْهُ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لا يَهْدِى كَيْدَ ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ
"That is so he will know that I did not betray him in [his] absence and that Allah does not guide the plan of betrayers." Yusuf 12, Ayah 52.
1. This Ayah has been debated as to who spoke these words, there are two people who could have said these words - Yusuf(AS) or the wife of the minister.
2. If it is Yusuf(AS) who said this then it means "I re-opened this invistigation so that the king could know that I didn't betray the Minister in the Minister's absence".
3. It seems that Yusuf(AS) knows that he(AS) is about to become a minister, but to be put in that position, he(AS) has to assure the king that he(AS) is loyal to him or else, the king can feel insecure and get doubts about him(AS). And if he(AS) is being questioned all the time, he(AS) won't be able to manage the crisis and many people would die out of famine and drought. He(AS) wants to impress the king that he(AS) can be trusted and is qualified to do the work.
4. A good employee is someone who can be trusted and is qualified to do the work.
وَمَآ أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِىٓ إِنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌۢ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّ رَبِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
"And I do not acquit myself. Indeed, the soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." Yusuf 12, Ayah 53.
5. Yusuf(AS) is telling people not to make him(AS) flawless, just because he(AS) didn't do this mistake, doesn't mean that he(AS) doesn't have temptation.
6. The word "AMMARAH" has a repetitive meaning. It means "it commands to do evil again and again", it never stops commanding.
7. And then there are occasions when Allah puts a special kind of "RAHMA" inside a person that stops them from doing evil, this kind of "RAHMA" comes because that person has done something good that Allah likes.
8. After that, there is "Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful". Here, he(AS) is giving "DA'WAH" to the king. He(AS) is telling that even if they did take the wrong road, Allah is still forgiving and merciful.
9. This can also be said to the cup bearer like "Don't feel ashamed, I'm also not perfect, you are still alive, ask forgiveness and you will be fine."
10. If the minister's wife said the words in the previous Ayah, it means "Let him know that he doesn't have to fear any wrong from me, I have left all that evil and I have learnt my lesson."
11. Sometimes, people go on a wrong road and then they realize that they are on the wrong road but, instead of going back to the right road, they go on the wrong road because "they have already come this far, why go back again?"
12. This woman did something that many people don't do, she admitted her mistake publicly without caring about the consequences, without caring about how people will see her. She did this because she did harm to someone else.
13. Fearing Allah is very hard when you are going to make people upset.
14. Then in Ayah 53 she says that she has let go of the obsession that people should see her as the victim and everyone else as the predator. She says that she is not innocent, that she has to keep fighting that the bad thing inside her and that it is because Allah's "RAHMA" that she is able to fight it.
15. She turns to Allah after that and says that "Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." She slandered a Prophet, she caused a Prophet harm, yet she is hopeful that Allah will forgive her and Allah recorded this in the Qur'an. We should take hope from this.
16. "TAWBA"(Repentance) is asking Alllah for forgiveness, walking away from sins and then not considering yourself as 'cursed being'. If it is a sin against another person then ask for their forgiveness and ask Allah for His forgiveness.
17. Sometimes, Allah will put a believer in a situation where they understand where people stand in their life and where Allah stands in his life.
18. From a natural language point of view, the repeated "I" shows that it is the wife of the minister speaking.
19. The opinion that Yusuf(AS) is the speaker is possible because in the Qur'an has transitions.
20. You don't have to choose one of the views as it can be a duality too.

Assalamualaikum wr wb. I am leaning towards the "woman who is speaking" side. Yusuf AS thrown into prison not because he was guilty but because he was inconvenient to his master. Therefore he doesn't need to say "so my master knows that I didn't do anything wrong while he was away" his master knew he's innocent from the get go.

The Turkish translations have always exposed these words as belonging to her. I have read this surah with that logic for years. When you read these ayat from her mouth it has a profound confession and expression of regret, understanding and repentance.

I’m not angrily demanding he fix the issues, he doesn’t owe us anything but if the purpose of these videos is to educate then of course trying to fix any issues that make the tafseer hard to follow is only logical. I know he went out of his way to get a new mic which is why I’m asking if he’s sure it was even connected. Assalamu'alaikum. While this mostly has been an enlightening experience, I have some questions: 1) Did Yusuf (ES) had the knowledge of the unseen (illmil-gaib)? According to my understanding of NAK's talk he's able to forsee he'll be assigned a high position in the govt? 2) Outside of dreams, did Yusuf (ES) get revelations from Allah (SWT)? 3) NAK mentioned that Egyptians at the time didn't see Yusuf (ES) as a prophet of Allah (SWT), then how did the minister's wife realize that he is? It's confusing because Yusuf (ES)'s prophet hood comes to light when he's propagating the message of Allah (SWT) to the two guys in the jail, the Quran states this clearly, however he hasn't mention of Allah (SWT) while in the minister's house. The closest we get when he's about to get molested by the minister's wife and says "my master" which NAK interpreted as maybe the minister or it could be Allah (SWT). 4) If the minister's wife was truly remorseful about her actions even before the king's inquiry then why did she say "Now the truth (is) manifest"? It sounds like, well the cat's out of the bag so I have to confess now. 5) If the minister's wife has converted to Islam, as NAK suggests because she mentions Allah, then does that mean all those other women had converted too, because they also say "Allah forbid"? That's a lot of conversations taking place while Yusuf (ES)'s in jail.
Hopefully my questions would be answered insha'Allah.

They said, "Of course." He said, "Remembrance (dhikr) of Allah ta ala."

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying Allah has mobile (squads) of angels, who have no other work (to attend to but) to follow the assemblies of Dhikr and when they find such assemblies in which there is Dhikr (of Allah) they sit in them and some of them surround the others with their wings till the space between them and the sky of the world is fully covered, and when they disperse (after the assembly of Dhikr is adjourned) they go upward to the heaven and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, asks them although He is best informed about them:
Where have you come from? They say: We come from Your servants upon the earth who had been glorifying You (reciting Subhan Allah), uttering Your Greatness (saying Allah o-Akbar) and uttering Your Oneness (La ilaha ill Allah) and praising You (uttering al-Hamdu Lillah) and begging of You. Be would say: What do they beg of Me? They would say: They beg of You the Paradise of Your. He (God) would say: Have they seen My Paradise? They said: No, our Lord. He would say: (What it would be then) if they were to see Mine Paradise? They (the angels) said: They seek Your protection. He (the Lord) would say: Against what do they seek protection of Mine? They (the angels) would say: Our Lord, from the Hell-Fire. He (the Lord) would say: Have they seen My Fire? They would say: No. He (the Lord) would say: What it would be if they were to see My Fire? They would say: They beg of You forgiveness. He would say: I grant pardon to them, and confer upon them what they ask for and grant them protection against which they seek protection. They (the angels) would again say: Our Lord, there is one amongst them such and such simple servant who happened to pass by (that assembly) and sat there along with them (who had been participating in that assembly). He (the Lord) would say: I also grant him pardon, for they are a people the seat-fellows of whom are in no way unfortunate.

It was narrated that Mu'adhbin Jabal said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I love you, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Never forget to say in every prayer: Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik (My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks to You and worship You well.)"

Sorry,but dear Adam you were looking at the details only and I hope that you didn't miss the great lessons from the insights that Ustad Nouman had been extracting from this amazing Surah ,next time please follow the lessons without looking at the video do that you don't get distracted by the scenery it reminds of that Muslim who was marveled by the beauty of a mosque and its architecture so much he missed the prayer.

Verse 52 cannot be said by Yusuf because he is not present . He is still in prison . Indeed in verse 54 the king asks to take him out of jail and bring him. Verse 52 is told by the wife of al Aziz

1.did yusuf become a king or minister
2.who bought him?
3.did he married that woman later on ( the one who tried the seduce him)
Proper daleli only from Quran & sunah or even a good points from one of the mufasirun
1)Yusuf AS became the minister. He was given a lot of responsibility.
2) Al Aziz bought him from the people who found him in the well.
3)Allah does not mention if he married that women.

Great Questions. Allah(Swt) in his absolute wisdom and knowledge has not mentioned this in the Quran. Every letter, word, story; is there in the Quran to guide mankind to the straight path till the day of judgement. If Allah has not mentioned that, then probably Allah does not want us to focus on that detail, which probably had no purpose( according to Allah) in guiding mankind towards the straight path.
