@@carlosatausupa8429Well I'm afraid the Academy had no opinion on a fully animated feature getting nominated for Best Visual Effects. Not unless you're a photorealistic movie like the live-action Lion King remake, or a stop motion animated film like The Nightmare Before Christmas or Kubo and the Two Strings.
Here's an idea - take the 90 seconds allotted to the presenter to advertise her movie, and instead give that to the artist who just want their voices heard and want to thank their families the same way all the above-the-line people get to. This is almost as much of a slap in the face to the VFX community as James Corden and Rebel Wilson's extended skit attempting to throw VFX under the bus for their Cats director's hubris and disorganisation.
It was definitely a no-brainer that The Way of Water was gonna get that Oscar. And what a deserving victory it was. James Cameron's sixth film to win the Visual Effects Oscar.
Lemme get this straight. The presenter of the award got almost 2 minutes to goof about, but the winners barely got 12 seconds before getting cut off......... and this video actually hides the fact that their speech was shorter than the time it took them to walk up to the stage. Absolutely disgraceful what the Oscars are doing.
I think the visuals in Avatar: The Way of Water might be the best ones ever seen. Truly spectacular to look at! Every winner following it unfortunately I think will struggle..

Today's cinecomics in the mcu are pitiful but only Spiderverse 2 with animation is truly incredible and has the quality where James Cameron will have to apologize for what he insulted.
