    First, THIS is the type of tennis match I enjoy watching. Despite the power of both players, NOT A SOUND! No loud grunts, no screams when the ball has already left the racquet … just an enjoyable game. Secondly, Naomi Osaka continues to prove that her game is no fluke. She just keep on dismantling her opponent(s). And, what's scary, or SHOULD BE (to the rest of the WTA field, that is) is that she is only 20 years old and continues to improve!!

      @@kevlow9494 you sound so RIDICULOUS, every player has their own techniques and form of releasing tension and anxiety on court. The screaming, grunting players are just as fine as the quiet ones. Its not a problem. Relax.

  • @saurabhchakrabarty7362

    Naomi seems to have absolutely no problem dealing with power coming at her recently. Saw it with Serena, Keys, Sabalenka, and now with Giorgi.
    If Naomi keeps playing a great level, it will take a great counterpuncher with a decent enough serve to beat Naomi. Someone like a Simona, Wozniaki or Kerber playing their best ( with the current form, I don't see Kerber and Wozniaki defeating Osaka tbh). Simona, Yes.
    Someone who can grind and slowly take Naomi off the singles court and have the accuracy to go down the line with their backhand (for a righty) and down the line forehand (for a lefty).
    And only Halep, Kerber and Wozniacki playing at their best can do that.
    But for me as a Naomi fan since AO '16, it has been so awesome to see her reach top height in women's tennis and witnessing how it all started for her and how it unfolded.
    More power to Naomi!!

      To be honest, I don't see Simona being able to do it either. Simona's shots have lost pace as of late. Kerber is the big threat though.

    • @saurabhchakrabarty7362
      @saurabhchakrabarty7362 6 лет назад +14

      @@Justin21586 kerber is a big threat considering how hard it is to read the direction of her forehand.
      The top 8 for Singapore looks fun. I will miss Serena, Venus and Muguruza tho.
      But looking forward to seeing how the new entries like Naomi, Slaone (if she qualifies) and Bertens (if she qualifies) play there.
      Coming back to the Simona part, in these fast indoor courts, it will be tough for Simona to beat the big hitters in general. It feels like the ball flies faster in Wuhan and Beijing. But there is a reason why Simona stands at the very top of the ladder. Last year Simona did cruise thru very good big hitters like Maria and Ajlona in Beijing. But neither of them had the serve of Naomi.

    • @saurabhchakrabarty7362
      @saurabhchakrabarty7362 6 лет назад +15

      I mean Naomi's service stats are awesome.
      In Tokyo, she has been broken only once, and broken only 5 times in her last 10 matches.
      Also in this tournament alone, Naomi has hit 25 aces and 0 double faults.
      Her first serve points won % are in the good 80's and second serve points won % is in the 70's. That's Serena like Serving stats or may be even better.

  • @h29209983520
    @h29209983520 6 лет назад +38

    What really impressed me is her mentality. Osaka is so calm even when she is confronting a break point of her service game. It seems like she is extremely comfortable under pressure. Considering her age, it is genuinely hard to hold the nerves and show very best of her. Undoubtedly she will earn many more grandslams in her career.

    Such amazing play from Naomi. Like literally until half a year ago or so, no one could’ve imagined she’d play this calm, confident and composed. I always thought her weakness is a lack of confidence and too much reliance on power tennis trying to finish the point too early. She showed very many improvements on various aspects during this season and now I don’t have to bite on my handkerchief while watching her tennis, as I used to be so scared of watching her hit too hard and blow time after time. I feel privileged as I feel like I’m watching one young player growing into a GOAT. She seems to still have big chunk of room left to get even better. I’m simply impressed. Thank you, Naomi and keep up the great work!!!

    Other than being very easy on the eyes, what I really like about Camila is how she is always so calm and collected. No awkward ungraceful grunts. No complaining. Just a quiet fist pump once in awhile. She also primps herself between each point. There is something very lady-like about her that's lacking in most players today. And its not that she doesn't try hard. She smacks the crap out of the ball on every point. She has no gears. Just one gear.

  • @tungt88
    @tungt88 6 лет назад

    The most underrated aspect of Osaka's game is her smart, focused defense. She has the power, but doesn't rely on it all the time -- it's just one of the tools in her toolbox. And it showed here, against one of the few players that can possibly overpower her (Giorgi). Camila's team should be taking pages from Osaka's playbook, as defensive play is Giorgi's biggest weakness.

      She has had some problem with abdomen strains, which affects her serve a lot. I think injures are less likely to happen less and less as she gets fitter though.

    Women's tennis is in desperate need of a new superstar. I hope Naomi Osaka is one.

      women's tennis has been looking for the "next great" player for several years. the players that have come into women's tennis over the past decade or so just haven't been able to achieve star quality. naomi has not only a very compelling public persona, but she has an exciting tennis game.
      oddly, i think that the fiasco that was the US open trophy ceremony cemented her stardom well beyond the world of tennis. i think that a lot of companies saw how naomi handled a difficult situation at the US open trophy ceremony with dignity and grace and those companies are deciding that she is someone that they want to have associated with their products.

    Come on Commentator. Her surname is Osaka not OZaakar.. That's pretty straightforward even for me so sort it out sharpish. She's going to be winning plenty of slams and you'd better get minor stuff like that right before others clamp down on it

      no.
      a lot of players get their names mispronounced. for example, if you are from the US, you almost certainly mispronounce the name "caroline wozniacki" as well as mispronouncing the names of many german players and most chinese players.

      @@gbolabodba He was not LOOKING for the negatives, he just noticed something that turned out to be annoying to him and asked if there was anyone else in the same situation. Some people are more sensitive than others to certain external stimuli. I am pronunciation- and spelling-sensitive myself and you probably have your own areas of higher sensitivity, too, where even low-intensity stimuli may trigger a response or a reaction from you. Who cares? Well, he cares, and his comment was meant for those who care. And this should be respected.

    Osaka is ultra talented on hard courts, but I wonder what will happen when she meets Halep on clay or Kerber on grass, or both of these players on hard courts when they're playing their best? Even Stephens can be a real menace.

    • @jliang70
      @jliang70 6 лет назад

      Doubt it. last time Halep played Osaka on clay it was a bread stick and a bagel, Kerber did not even sweat to beat her at Wimbledon. Osaka's serve is over rated and she is about the same level as many other girls in the top 10 and certainly is not the ultra talent that Serena was. I can't see how she is going to be the lone dominant force in WTA.
