    Hello, nice video! I thought you had given up on Punch amplifiers.
    Do you know which amplifier is better between the punch 300s, and the punch 250.2? They both have similar power ratings (about 100w continuos per ch at 4 ohms), and they look exactly the same inside! I'm planning on maybe buying a Punch 300s. Thanks😊.

      I will never stop doing punch amplifier videos 😊
      I’m going to get confused about all that model numbers but maybe sometimes they put the same amp into a different heatsink? In future i will create a discussion board where all can register and write everything including posting pics. It’s way easier and comfortable than posting comments on RUclips 😃

      @@audiokeller1975 I was just kidding, about you quitting Punch amps! I can tell you're a big fan, and I am too!
      If you had to choose between the Punch 300s or the Punch 250.2 amp, which will you pick? Thanks.

    I had a punch 200 (I think, it's been a while) I flush mounted it in between two flush mounted Kicker Competition 12" subs it looked awesome till someone stole it.

      It’s quite often that I read that people steal someone’s car audio system ☹️

    This is disturbing to me..I know the designer well. I will contact him tonite..I will discuss the shutdown circuit.. where can we see the b+ voltage ? I want to figure out why the amp pulls back. I wonder if the +- 15 volt rails are swinging. Or is the main rails..or the b+. Can you take picture of main board please. Does the punch 40 dsm have this same tendency? Or not.. im discussing the one with the stand up driver and preamp boards? We will find out..

      The b+ voltage goes down from 13.7V to 13.6V when testing bigger amps, I tested the power 50M which did well 1ohm continuous. Lots of amps I tested continuous did the same at 1 Ohm. Maybe protection circuit to reduce repairs? Have you seen or worked with the powercube back in the days?

      Power cube is representation of ohms law...faithfulness.. more or less..

    • @audiokeller1975
      @audiokeller1975  6 месяцев назад

      The tests made with the powercube are not continuous, it’s dynamic signal with a 1kHz burst with 20cycles with 480ms pause. No problem for the amp

    i have one of these, changed all capacitors just in case

    • @audiokeller1975
      @audiokeller1975  6 месяцев назад

      All? Why did you do that? Were all caps leaking ? Usually I only change caps if they got bumpy or the ESR increased.
      The SMD 10uF 16V caps caused problems in the early 90s. I heard also different opinions about the b+ filter caps.

      Makes me sad everyone replaces caps..its incorrect teaching. If you do it. Do it 1 at a time and test between each one.. antiques should be antiques..especially the old hand built fosgates that I made
