I fully agree with this. Especially with some of these dishes, like the croquembouche, where someone may have never even heard of it before. They should be allowed to do a small amount of research just to get an idea of what they are making and some general techniques used. Maybe the try team can put together a short bit of information so that they all come in at least knowing the same stuff.
I see no issue with Jared (who baked for the first and second time on this show) looking at a recipe a couple days before filming when Zach and Keith have been taught how to make some of the things they’ve made on the show by professionals for other projects 🤷🏻♀️
I don't have a problem with him checking out the recipes. I also don't have a problem with everyone else giving him grief for it. As long as they can take him giving it back for something else.
same here! it’s not like he remembers everything in the recipe he looked at and it wouldnt kill him if he knows what he’s supposed to make. as long as he doesn’t use a recipe during the actual competition then it’s good
Literally every time I see Jared he has an expression like he was just black bagged while shopping for groceries, thrown in the trunk of a van, carted off to a set and had the bag taken off his head 0.5 seconds before being pushed out on stage. And somehow it's happened so often that it's gone past being alarming to existential absurdity. Like every time he's like "Oh, we're here again. Ok. What am I going to be asked to do? Cook? Cool, as long as you aren't going to harvest my organs or hunt me for sport or something." It's an incredible mix of complete cluelessness and exasperated helplessness. "Here we are again folks! Apparently I'm showing you how to do professional level cooking. Which is the thing I now do instead of buying cold cuts at the grocery store, I guess. I don't recommend taking notes, I know I didn't."
I love Jared, he's so enthusiastic about the tasks put in front of him regardless of whether he knows how to do said task. I find it really reassuring to see him jump in and try, even when he doesn't know what to do, and have fun figuring it out as he goes.
Wait..how was it wrong for Jared to do a little research but totally fine for Kwesi girlfriend to tell him how to make a croissant? Obviously it didn't help either of them hahaha
I love Jared men, he's so chaotic. And I'm glad Jonny said what I always thought, he's a terrible terrible baker but he's a star and captivates the audience!
So happy Jared is in more videos!! Spot on with the audience loves him!! Loads of love from Denmark you go Jared and you never deserve to be shouted at! You fought momma like a boss, momma understood you in the end! 💖🫶🏼
NO ONE cares if jared looked at the recipe a few days before the shoot, tbh he could have the full recipe on the show and the other guys would still have a massive advantage
I think it's okay for Jared to look up a recipe beforehand even if he looked up how stuff is made. As long as they don't have actual weights and measurements for stuff they're still gonna make a mistake lol
I don't think Jared looking at a recipe in advance is cheating, consider he's coming in with what feels like negative knowledge. Like, I haven't even finished the season finale for this one because I'm like... It feels cruel to be like "Here's this really complex, complicated thing you've never seen before, figure out how to make it". They should be allowed to know what they making and what the end result should look like, not just - here's a word, it's a type of culinary dish, good luck. Which may not be accurate to what's really happening in the croquembouche episode, but that's what it feels like is happening in the croquembouche episode and I just don't enjoy it.
If Jared looking up a recipe weeks in advance is “cheating”, then Zach and Keith are cheating by going in with all their years of knowledge from doing this show and other food-related ones. 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for hiring captioners! It's a real mark of quality and care for your audience to make your videos accessible, especially with the auto captioning getting worse.
Nah, man, it’s fine that Jared looked at a recipe 3 weeks before. How many times has Jared not know known or tasted the thing he’s supposed to make? 😁 As long as no one has a recipe when they’re cooking, surely it’s okay. Besides, I don’t think it would be as fun if they were *completely* clueless.
4:04 this parttttt! I grew up loving food network and honestly I forget how many basics I’ve learned through that and how people who have never watched cooking content are so completely lost
I get Jonny's point to Jared that you can't just take a single ingredient and put it in the oven and bake it and call it something else, especially with respect to peanut butter. However when it comes to like potatoes or various different kind of cheese, I kind of think you can. (Especially because varying the way you put in the potato or cheese and type of cheese makes it a wholly different thing, like you can put a whole brie in or shredded parm and what comes out totally different even though both are just putting cheese in the oven.)
Omg this was wonderful! Jonny is always so fun and Nicole is great! Would love to see her judge on WAR or compete on phoning it in. Bringing Jared in to give him constructive criticism was actually really sweet. Jared is a treasure ❤️ lmao she was so surprised he came in 2nd here. I think we all were hahaha.
this felt like a much easier episode than the other ones this season. because a basic cereal is very, very simple. but I know most americans have a bit of a different thing in mind when they hear "cereal". but yea, you can basically just roast flakes made of basically just pressed corn and you got cereal

Hello!
Nicole needs to be a judge at the next Without a Recipe so she can *really* understand how it all goes so badly. 😂😂😂
She and Rosanna should have a chat I think :D
She has been a judge before
Having the chefs see how the dishes were made might be worse than having them eat the dishes
It just hurts your heart and head instead of your taste buds and stomach.
omg i'm so glad they posted these on the main channel
me too! i think we get mostly everything if not everything but it just takes longer which i understand.
@@saturn888I think we get everything like 2-3 weeks later except for those 2nd try specials
I think we’re only getting the first episode of this series as a preview
I was hoping they would too!!! And I'm so happy they did!
@@pikapika123 good because some of us are paying for these and they are supposed to be "exclusive" to 2nd Try!
My intros will never be good huh?
lololololol
They are 100% Jonny. They're perfect. 👌
why reach for Good when you can keep being Great🤗
Lol you're great sir
you’re doing great sweetie
“Your eyeshadow looks great, but your intuition needs some work.”
I want that on my gravestone
It's amazing how it's such an honest statement and yet it sounds so damn shady xD
I fully agree with Jared about looking into what they had to cook, It's called Without A Recipe not Without Any Knowledge Whatsoever.
I fully agree with this. Especially with some of these dishes, like the croquembouche, where someone may have never even heard of it before. @@alisaishere seconding this!!!
exactly. the mochi episode was so out of hand because they didn’t even know what they have to make
I'm imagining Nicole and Jared paired together on Phoning It In..
YES PLEASE MY GOD
YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!!!!
I see no issue with Jared (who baked for the first and second time on this show) looking at a recipe a couple days before filming when Zach and Keith have been taught how to make some of the things they’ve made on the show by professionals for other projects 🤷🏻♀️
I was just going to say this, and add that Marissa liiiiiterally got taught how to make choux pastry in Phoning It In haha
I'm with you on this!
I don't have a problem with him checking out the recipes. I also don't have a problem with everyone else giving him grief for it. As long as they can take him giving it back for something else.
I’d love to see him with like 12 ingredients and only 7 of them are in the recipe of something and he has to make something.
same here! it’s not like he remembers everything in the recipe he looked at and it wouldnt kill him if he knows what he’s supposed to make. as long as he doesn’t use a recipe during the actual competition then it’s good
"What did I make for cereal?"
"Mistakes "
...
"Who needs that?"
"Well. You"
Jared is drowning 😂😂😂
1:23 “but it’s like milk and cereal how bad could it be” famous last words

I laughed at your description from start to finish, it's so true 😂
I love the way she asks if she can say bad words and the enthusiasm when she uses “shit” 🤣
That’s how I would be 😂
They didn’t even get to the part where they make alcoholic milk

And Ryan rewatching all the previous WAR episodes?!
@@ruffridge02 Ryan watching the previous WAR recipes didn't teach him what to do, just some things to not do
Nicole’s vibe works so well for the Try Guys channel 😂 loved having her as a guest!

I always root for Jarred the most in without a recipe because he may not be the best but he has the most heart
Yay I’m so glad they listened and put this on the main channel. I love them seeing how it all went down. Pure chaos

We’re so lucky to have Jonny on the regular Try Guys cast now. I love his energy and his perspective so much!
I love that smosh, mythical, and try are all on each others sets. It always makes me so happy to see the crossovers!
The whole chef's react series is so fun to watch. Glad they decided to post this on the main yt channel for everyone to see.
NO ONE cares if jared looked at the recipe a few days before the shoot, tbh he could have the full recipe on the show and the other guys would still have a massive advantage
Jonny and Jared cuddled up while discussing Jared’s many “interesting choices” is adorable ☺️
I think it's okay for Jared to look up a recipe beforehand even if he looked up how stuff is made. As long as they don't have actual weights and measurements for stuff they're still gonna make a mistake lol
I love how everytime Jared pours a liquid onto a counter and is confused when he can't roll it
So brutal. But so true 😂
The pause after “should you be able to pipe your cereal dough?” 💀💀
You can hear Zach laughing in the background at 10:06 😂😂
You can hear Zach laughing in the backgroung in almost every video he's not in.
And also mere seconds before that, among others
NICOLEEEEEEE 💞 Genuinely didn't think we'd see Chefs React on the main channel 🎉

“What did I make for cereal?”
“Mistakes.”

"How bad can it be?" Oh my dear, you are in for a treat! 😂
Nicole calling Jared a menace to society is so funny
As much as I love this concept, Jonny is too precious to be reacting to this omg
Also, ‘Failed Actor’? HE IS AN ABSOLUTE ICON
Nicole arguing w Jonny on liquid cereal batter is giving A Hotdog is a Sandwich vibes 😂
I'm excited for more of these! I love the intro chosen, and Nicole is positively glowing!! Jonny and her are a great comedy duo together :)

I fell in love with this Nicole person immediately. And her sweater.
“I have this tradition where I finish early and drink sauvignon blanc” - Jared
20:15 100% agree! He is the best 😂
Maybe you could make a mini series of the chefs teaching Jared some recipes. Like homemade Mac and cheese and other “staples”.
Thank you for hiring captioners! It's a real mark of quality and care for your audience to make your videos accessible, especially with the auto captioning getting worse.
I regularly watch Without a Recipe with my sister who is a chef. It's my favorite thing to do because her reactions are the BEST.
Chefs when their card declines at therapy:
16:53 as one of the only 10 people who watched is it cake, johnny literally put decoys IN THE REAL ITEMS
Drew gooden talked about that situation in a video and that's the only way I knew of it
I do think more people watch it😂 and as someone who watches I was surprised that it wasn’t a thing for them to mess up with the decoys
Truth! Jared and Kwesi can do ALL the without a recipes. And throw Ryan in for giggles!
Find it sad there was no mention of Jared's milk! Like that one was just wild!
Nicole is SO funny omg. She had me rolling the whole episode!! She's an icon she *is* the moment 💅🏼✨️
In a broken society, Jared's version of menace feels like an act of greater good
Jonny finally discovers the secret behind the earlobe 😂
I really love how you lifted his spirits at the end and said such kind words. That was really nice to hear :')
"How bad can it be?"
Oh sweet summer child 😂😂😂😂
Jared is the golden standard of greatness.
This feels like parents looking at their kids cooking for them and they see all the things they shouldn't do.
