His voice is relaxing he is full of positivity, happy person, down to earth, i pray for this guy and beg to god give some of my life to dan. Prayers he stay healthy and safe there.
Great video Dan. In the past you and your dad cooked down the pyrite and smelted it out. Perhaps with all these pyrites you could do another series on smelting.
I went on your website, i know your a boss at what you do but i never knew the extent in which you are mining. You're an extremely, EXTREMELY gifted and blessed individual! I have always said, "it would be cool if you took on apprentices, i would work for free and make the move from Spokane too BC just too learn from you." I have no work skills and have a hard time aquiring anything, work wise, over minimum wage.. The only thing i am absolutely GREAT at is labor, if i had a mentor like you Dan, the possiblities are endless! Great video and thank you much for sharing!
I’m 25 and used to watch a gold show with my dad and this reminds me of those moments and honestly I love the knowledge and everything you put into the videos. Also doesn’t hurt seeing two shinning smiles in a video.
Dan, I believe this is one of the best videos in your channel man. What o liked about it was we got to see what equipment you use at the house to determine where to goto next and all the different types of ways to extract the gold and gems I’m sure the ones that don’t know how loves watching. Thanks for the upload!
Beautiful country your in. And sitting on the banks panning your pickers. Living in Florida only gold you can find here is on the beaches where oiled up sunbathers loose there priceless goody's off their fingers & toes!!!
I actually just asked on another of your videos if you had one about this. Haha Your videos are really fun to watch. You have such excitement and wonder for this stuff, but you also approach it practically and intelligently. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
I really like your videos Dan! And, when you collaborate with PioneerPauly. You all seem to have so much fun. I'm glad you are doing well. I wish the best for you and yours! Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment. Keep going!
thank you for firing up my gf's interest in gold and jewel panning . she wants to get quality hiking boots and plan a trip to remote sites around B.C. hope to see you around the okanagan soon .
Love the vids. Always enjoy watching you treasure hunting in your own way. I'm fortunate enough to live 20 minutes from the rocky mountains of alberta and I'm always looking down whenever I'm in the creeks and mountains. I am definitely stopping by your shop if I'm ever heading that way again.
Very nice! Man I haven’t seen your vids in quite some time now and I tell you the truth…. Your production quality is waaaaaaay through the roof better than back in the day.
I stripped my A-52 and put gold hog mats in along time ago and I love them. I also made a high banker attachment for it w/3700 GPH. They love the fast water, also have a multi-sluice.
Enjoyed immensely, thank you. Could you do a quick video on the regulations and requirements ,stipulations to securing a claim. If you have, please mention the link. Thx.
Hey Dan! This was a great video showing the processing of different materials. Looking forward to seeing what you find from the dream claim. Big ((Hugs)) from Texas! xx : )

Me and my son went fishing today, loaded the entire bottom of our hand pulled wagon with stuff that looks gold bearing to crush. Giving us a 2nd hobby to compliment the 1st hobby 😁 Love your vids bud. Gave us something new to do for fun
Loving all these recent uploads, in a world post covid vaccine where im struggling with some really awful side effects still 3 weeks after I had it, videos like this really help relax me. thanks so much for all your work in putting these together :-)
Sorry if you cover this in a video i havent seen, I’m disabled and in Australia so no competition to prospectors. I have always loved fossicking though and these days its impossible for me expect watching videos like yours. When watching videos where gold is recovered, its usually a video of panning and maybe using tweezers to pluck larger pieces out of the pan into a container. And los of shots of fine grain gold or even floating dust in the pans and at the end of the video they hold up a small bottle of the days takings, which is clearly very pure gold, not gold rich dirt and its dry too to show it moving around in the bottle. You know the shot i’m talking about. What nobody shows though is how to go from a well panned sample which obviously isnt 100% gold, it still has grains of other stuff in it to the “money shot” of bottle gold. Whats the process to get highly concentrate pan result to whats in the bottle? Is it just panning to the best you can? Maybe switching pans, do you put on magnifiers and hand pick each gold speck over hours with tweezers? Do you tip into filter paper and oven bake dry and then hand separate gold from non gold under a magnifier? There’s obviously steps involved between “look at all the gold in this pan” to “look at all the gold we collected today in this bottle” probably a lot of hours of boring work but i’dd be interest to know or is it some magic trick process you folks keep secret to stop others competing with you?
I SINCERLY THANK YOU FOR SHAREING UR KNOWLAGES & SHOWING SOME OF UR EQUIPMENT AS WELL..BLESS YOU. .I ENJOY UR VIDEOS MUCHLY.. ( I AT THIS TIME AM BARELY SUPORTING MY OWN SELF...ALL I CAN DO IS WATCH WHAT UR ABLE TO SHOW..)
Do you ever talk about the economics of your prospecting? What it costs you, who you sell to? Not necessarily a how to, but maybe an understanding of why it's as much hobby than business? I'm curious about things like the Garnets, because they look like so much fun to harvest, but what do you do with them beside the bags?
You can sell them to different companies and even Craigslist or Facebook for hobbiest to make jewelry or other items out of. eBay is also a good place to sell them. There is a lot of money in selling the cheaper gems but you have to sell quantities of them to make good money or figure out a niche like the grab bags like Dan has. Good luck! 🙃
Dan that's what i really enjoy about your show you go over and above to show a lot of.the work and not just fluff. You.look well hopefully you don not over do it thank for your hard work with out.this i wouldnt get to.see.that kind of terrain i can no longer walk on that. .stay well.
For different variations of serpentine, you should take a trip out to Northern California! The Paradise area has a lot of serpentine with many different color variations
A beautiful watercolor paint is made with serpentine by Daniel-Smith. It's one of their Primatek series made with actual minerals including, amethyst, lapis lazuli, and garnet! Check out reviews of these paints. Thanks Dan for showing these fantastic places! (and the GOLD)
I use a spinning drum style concrete mixer to tumble maybe it would be more efficient for you to try?? Definitely not like high end but.... toss some milling balls in and you can really work material
Mr . Hurd, do you have any concerns about the asbestos in the serpentine? I am from a county with loads of serpentine and it is used as road base everywhere. On forest service roads they have a regulation stating its only allowed on unimproved roads if the traffic is below a certain number because of the free flowing asbestos in the serpentine.
I really enjoy watching your videos i work way to much to do anything like that but your videos relax me I'm from Ohio keep them coming so glad to see your doing better have a great year
That first pan you showed. The one with the big ridges and the lots of smaller ridges. Is that good for a beginner? I bought one online before I ever saw any gold pan videos.
Hi Dan. Great video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members. To all members also. Talk to you later my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
question when i herd iron in it have you thought of useing a magnet in a bag to remove it and then take the magnet out of the bag to clean it off. or will that not work
I agree but I think it's his "I'm a prospector, not a miner" approach. He sold a known rich claim so .... he got more than peanuts is my guess. Go Dan!
@@minibigs5259 He got the claim for about 7 peanuts (guess), proved it, sold it for 49 peanuts. We saw a sample from the claim - wow. That tumbling prep of the Serpentine is really class Dan. Way to think of the end user.
