I only wish my wife and I would’ve chosen this powerful song! We did choose faithfully! That was 33 years ago! I never get tired of listening to this beautiful song! What powerful voice
Bites Lip!😢😢😕❤️still listening to it at age 62! You still got it Fredy! I was 20 when this song came out and He was in his 20s when he sung it back in early 80s! Still love ya Fredy!❤️Sings with Him..When Im With Youuuuuu!
I’ve loved this song FOREVER! If I’d ever married, I’d use it, too! I don’t expect him to be as good as he was in his 20’s & 30’s. The song holds up well.
This takes me back to 1989-1990, the best of times. I met my soon to be wife. We got divorced 10 years later, but those days were the best ever. This song went to #1 in 1989 even though it was made years earlier. I remember DJ's saying that the band hadn't been together for years.
give the guy a break. He came out with the song over 20 years ago now. You can't expect anyone to sing like they did in their 20's when they are in their 40's or 50's. It sounded fine and I enjoyed it. thanks canadian shadow rider
He's only in his upper 40s here. No excuse. He blows chunks. Tons of rockers in their 40s sound completely undiminished in their vocal powers. So, I will not give him a break.
Music and Movie Fan Agreed with Frank. This is a prime example of a musician who didnt take care for their voice. Example....Peter Cetera is in his mid 70’s started in in his very early 20’s and that guys sounds just like he did back than... Your right Frank, no excuses........
He still sounds pretty damn good for 40 years in the business. Just be lucky guys like this still take the stage, and share these songs from decades back.
Interesting story, Freddy. This was our wedding song too and we got married two weeks ago, not twenty-eight or thirty-one. A great song like this is timeless, and even though I was only five years old and my wife wasn't even born when it came out, I knew it HAD to be our song.
My husband and I got together in 1988…we danced to this at our wedding in 1992. All the guests made a circle around us as we waltzed. Great song and great memories!
That was so cool. I remember going to a Def Leopard concert a few years ago. Man, growing up when they were at the top of their game, the videos, all of it. When Joe came out on stage, you could hear the older crowd just kind of, well, there was a huge intake of air. Visions of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" videos or whatever flashed, and we thought, oh, we're old. The coolest thing was, we could tell his vocals were tough, so we all just sang with him really loud. When "Photograph" came, we could tell this was gonna be out of reach for the wizard, we could never hit those notes, ever in the past...so we sang like we were 16, "all I wanted...all I needed, all I've got is a photograph". These people were our life songs, they amazed us, and sang what we couldn't say, they were flipping warlocks of harmony, and there is something magical about that. It must be so hard, to lose your super powers, but we can't ever forget that they did, indeed HAVE them, and they saved us when they did. When he sang this song in his youth, that note, it was transcendent.
Very cool.. as a dj from 85 -2005 . this song was played very often... love this so much thanks for posting.... Dj Dan Sarasota fl. Thanks Fred for the pipes...
Regardless what the haters might say its easy for anyone NOT with tin ears to hear the magic in the voice singing a song from 28 years before this video was recorded. No one's claiming its a perfect recreation of the original but good golly you still have to appreciate the talent and skill it took to perform the original version. Its now 8 years after this concert and its still a powerful song---Fred says it truthfully---a good song is always a good song! Thanks for sharing this video with us!
youre right, you can sing it however you like, but he is singing it in a lower key, so it is apparent he cant hit the high notes anymore....happens when you get old......nothing wrong with that.....i still like the way he sings
Lots of singers voices change as they get older- some of it has to do with whether or not they took care of their voices (and health) through the years. I had a crush on Curci when I was a young girl and always loved the way he sounded..technique, passion, and oh yeah, sexy as hell !!!! :-)
I'd like to of seen the band stay together keep playing writing until produce another song like this It hit #1 twice once 84 then the band broke up 1989 it hit it again.says it all a great song great vocalist great band. Canada has lot great bands, talent and yet just apart of the music scene. British invasion, grunge, alternative, heavy metal, etc. The Canadian bands just added to the music scene, no fanfare just their music.
He can still hit the notes.... Well this song is not comparatively high than to his other songs. Infact, this is a comfortable zone for most medium voiced singers... Yes maybe his pipe is not strong enough to hold for an entire concert. But he hasn't lost it. Also , singing the end to this is a different technique, his sustain was awesome back in the day :D
I truly don't understand why some people say this version is bad, like wtf? He's hitting all the notes, only holding them for less time probably because he hasn't got the lungs anymore.. which is normal for a person of his age and weight, people ate so hateful...
He has a world record for the longest note held in a musical record. On this song, actually, at the very end. He holds the note for 30 seconds. Still love him.
His voice isn’t as powerful as the “kid” who sang it originally, but he still sounds fabulous. I just don’t understand why he wasn’t a superstar with that voice. I really don’t.
This is 3 of the 5 original members. Steve DeMarchi on acoustic guitar, Freddy Curci the original singer and Wolf Hassel on Bass guitar. The keyboard player is Denny DeMarchi
nice comment.. however, its not always food bro.. i know for a fact some medications can screw people up that way. It happened to my buddy who was an athlete who got injured in a car accident.. so.. anyway.. welcome to society today
i understand that the bass player is the original from Sheriff, but who's the original singer from sheriff? at least the original who recorded this song? Is this guy singing here? Btw this song is not been performed on the original tune, it's at least a complete or 1 and a half tones less from the original.. In the original song the singer would need to reach much higher notes
Prior to ALIAS doing their performance, Denny DeMarchi's (keyboard player for ALIAS) band did a half hour performance to open the show. You have to understand this was not a giant venue and ALIAS performed just as you see them here.. It was a really informal performance but was great
yeah .. this aint' the Freddie .. from 80's .. but .. saw .. Dokken live .. his songs were in a lower key .. still ROCKIN WITH DOKKEN !! ........ thing he toked on like 15 cigs on stage .... yeah Idiot .. might wanna give that CRAP UP .. :( .. stupid .. still great though .... Geoff TATE .. don't hit the HIGH notes . anymore .. but I "GET " that .. as I am .. not what I was at 20!! .. :) .. oh well ..
I agree completely. Maybe drop it a few steps so it's easier to hit the notes; that way at least it sounds complete. Bailing on the high notes is lame and not even attempting that high A at the end. What a let down.
I only wish my wife and I would’ve chosen this powerful song! We did choose faithfully! That was 33 years ago! I never get tired of listening to this beautiful song! What powerful voice
One of if not the greatest ballads ever, period. This vocalist was second to none in his prime I'm speaking from 30+ years as a musician. 👍✌
Oh Freddie's voice just MELTS me!!!
Freddy had one of the best voices Sheriff and then Alias both great bands because of his voice.
He still has the voice after 29 years.
This was my wedding song... 32 years ago tonight!!! Perfect song.1990.Thank you!!!

Such a great song, also our wedding song, we got married three years ago.
I’m 47 and if I ever find someone I love like this ever again, because the last time was about 28 years ago, this WILL be my wedding song100%
I hear you. My heart was broken
Good Luck sweetie :)
He still can sing this song he’s amazing ❤
I wish we both were still young!
I love it, thank you for sharing it with us bring back memory!!!!
I love Freddy I have to listen to this song at least 2 times day
watching this brought tears to my eyes. One of the greatest songs of all time.
My husband and I got together in 1988…we danced to this at our wedding in 1992. All the guests made a circle around us as we waltzed. Great song and great memories!
Daaaamn...when everyone starts singin... teared up...baaaaaby...haha.
One of my all time favorite songs
Oh I love Freddy and his voice so much! Steve is amazing as usual. Nice to see Wolf play again. And RIP Denny, thank you for your wonderful music.💖

I seen Def Leppard twice, in 2011 and 2014, he sounded better in 2014 tbh.
Seriously.. it's gotta suck. Everything about getting older sucks. .
Nothing gold can stay
Couldn't have said it better myself... thanks.
def leppard in their prime were godly and the harmonies were chilling, hair raising
Very cool.. as a dj from 85 -2005 . this song was played very often... love this so much
thanks for posting.... Dj Dan Sarasota fl. Thanks Fred for the pipes...
Also my wedding song 20 years ago
Freddy! Just Great Stuff! Love your voice!

Freddy sir you are amazing ❤
Nicely done!!
Thanks so much for the post. A singer's singer.
I always ask dj to play this ❤
Freddie still love your voice even though you're older and likely have a family.

It's such a shame that a proper official music video was never produced for this song.
PierreAndAndre AGREE!!!!!!
@@SanjaySingh-oh7hv How the hell am I supposed to make an official video if I do not have access to existing footage? Come on now. Be realistic.
I've been looking for that! The only I could find is on Spotify and it's a studio recording, but absolutely phenomenal! He's so so good.
Thank you for posting this wonderful video. It brings back so many wonderful memories.
One of my fave bands ever! What a voice!!
its recorded from a phone in the crowd, it probably sounded even better in person
Love him ❤
Love him the best singer then and now love you Freddy ❤
Way to go :)
80S FOREVER
Tremendo tema....cada vez q lo escucho....me emociono...el soft rock de los 80 es lo mejor ...y este tema....no tiene comparacio
I want to hug him so bad ❤
I was thinking the same thing. 😊

@@Daniearp , he's singing it in a much lower key. Not the same notes at all.
@@Frank_Cohen what key is the original? And this one?
he still in good voice..thx freddy
GREAT❤SONG
Freddy is still pitch perfect, yes not in the same key as the original, but a spot on!
His voice isn’t as powerful as the “kid” who sang it originally, but he still sounds fabulous. I just don’t understand why he wasn’t a superstar with that voice. I really don’t.
@@barbaragoode2904 Uhhhh Fred is the kid that originally sang it in the 80's....
@@caryjnicolo5740 NO SHIT, Sherlock!
Freddy was singing it in the lower key when Sheriff was playing it live in 1982.

I think this song was originally recorded in 1985 and released in 1990. I THINK thats right. Ive always liked this song.
Released in January 1983…….and reached the Top 10 on Toronto’s CHUM-AM charts in March 1983.
Search for Freddy Cursi’s version of “Brown eyed girl” It’s very well done
One of my favorite songs❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ohhh Freddy 🥰
Nice Job
Very nice.
Freddy Curci didn't write the song, Arnold David Lanni did. But he has every right to sing it, he sang on the original.
Check out More than words can say that he sang on the same night, much better. His voice is still perfect.

Just found out........... ALIAS playing at Sturgis, Canada in British Columbia in August 2014 ... sturgiscanada.com/
that was not awfal he was great thanks canadian bud
Used to have such an amazing voice and was very handsome. If I had such a gift I would want to preserve it the best I could.
His voice is still great in this video, what the hell are you talking about? Nobody's voice at their 50s sound the same as their 20's counterpart
Linda,
What decade of your life are you currently in?
*unexpected tragedies occur around any corner, to anyone
Sounds like karaoke now. Damn shame we gotta get old
Canadians clapping on 1 and 3.
haha fucking awesome
ALIAS TEM MÚSICA BOA,COMO "MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY"..
MAS,ÉSSA DAÍ SÓ FICA LEGAL NA VERSÃO ORIGINAL D QUANDO ELE ÉRA VOCALISTA DO "SHERIFF"..
go to 2:17 for less blather and the actual song.
Some were part of the original Heart.
The 3 members of Heart were only there after the first album was done. The songwriters were Denny, Steve and Fred
FACEBOOK = Aliasbandfanclub (lots of pics both new and old, early promo, etc)
Would have been great to have Johnny Gargano join this

Sounds good but he got the lead singer disease and gained 100lbs!
